2027 FEBRUARY PURCHASE I watched two videos by Anne Lauren on YouTube and she mentions Aura with a passion - she said it was under-rated and not talked about - after mulling around Youtube, she was correct. She described it as "happiness in a bottle". So I bought a 100ml as it was on a massive discount, sprayed it in February, wasn't sure, laid it away with my UAE for maturation...and low and behold, it performed, she's very salty, breezy, solar - you can taste the salt when you move in to sniff it a bit more, there's the jasmine, bergamot and rose in a translucent gentle wash onto the sands - it's softly aquatic and the musk gently keeps it glued to your skin. It's literally that tired old phrase "your skin in the sun, but better" (!) Expensive body cream and salty air - It's very lovely and calming. It's not massively projecting, I don't think she was made for that experience, but she lasts about 5 hours on oiled skin. I use Aura as a gorgeous aquatic top over a base of Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold, Tiare Intense by Montale and a base moisturiser of Fame by Paco Rabbane. It's really pleasurable and spritz through the day as the other perfumes and their notes keep poking through their dry down cycle. It's not discontinued in the after sales discounters, it's cheap as chips though, £60 for 100ml ! Loads up your carts.

Idôle Aura, by Lancôme, smells like rose jam, vanilla and salt. Very delicious, captivating and contrasting pairing. If I ever want to buy a rose jam fragrance, this will be the first one I think of. The rose jam is very sweet and ready to be devoured, the vanilla makes it more alcoholic, and the salt in it brings some refreshing umami, like salt always does in every good dessert.

I did not care for this the first time I sprayed it. I thought, hmm, I must not be a salt enjoyer. So I put it away. Picked it up 2 weeks later during a brief fit of fragrance indecision, and now I'm in *love* with this perfume! What was I thinking?? This is a fluffy, soft, lightly salted vanilla and semi sweet pink rose petals and it is absolutely LOVELY. It's calm, but it's *there* and it lasts for *hours* with just a few sprays. Come to find out that it's discontinued and picked up a backup bottle for a song. I have no idea why this flanker didn't take off, there's reasons, I'm sure. I'm also sure that this has most definitely been overlooked and slept on. At least I got mine!

Lancôme please please please bring this back, I love this perfume and it is just a perfect salty vanilla floral. So sad this is discontinued and have 2 backup bottles but I am still afraid to use this 😭😭

Updated review: This is the rose sister to Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid. If you like that and you like rose you’ll like this. This sings in warmer weather. Wearing it outside in 80°+ weather and received a lot compliments. I’ve been pairing it with old school baby lotion and whoa, it just works. I’m thinking about making a small batch of dusting powder to go with it since I like to use that freshen up in this humidity. If you find it I would recommend it. Great price blind buy. I was scared because I had a sample of Idôle Power and I hated that. So the bullet point of it not being similar to the Idôle DNA is likely true and also completely fine with me. This is a soft rose with ocean breeze with a little vanilla. I usually dislike perfumes that try to use water or ocean notes but here it’s balanced so well with the vanilla it doesn’t lean masculine to me. I’m interested to see how this wears in warmer weather and I want to try layering it with other rose perfumes to see if it can make them less heavy.

Feels quite different from the original idole and I really enjoy this!! Original idole is very pretty, shampooey, sweet fruity rose. Aura's rose is still fresh but quickly settles into a delicious salty vanilla, but not too sweet. The rose falls to the background fairly quickly. To me this is like JHAG vanilla vibes but a little more floral, a little more fresh, and without the synthetic plastic undertone that many JHAG scents have. It's got great longevity but is not too loud or suffocating. Also feels like a relative of Gucci flora gorgeous orchid, but with a salt note and a rose opening. Or like Olympea but much less sharp or heavy. I saw a few people say the rose almost has a slight watermelon vibe here and I agree, where as original idole is a pear rose. Love it and sadly it's discontinued but still available for now!

Wanted to try this, as I was keen to get that summer sea/marine/flower vibe. Nope, just getting vanilla and musky. A non offensive summer daytime perfume. At least I've tried it. Does still project for a few hours.

I owe an apology for my previous review of Lancôme Idôle, because lately I've been falling in love with every single Idôle flanker. This perfume feels exactly like summer. Like an orange flame. Salty vanilla wrapped around the most beautiful rose, not a powdery Turkish delight kind of rose, but the feeling of spending an entire day sunbathing by the sea. If I were a female military officer coming home after three years of service and sprayed this on, I'd instantly feel like a Victoria's Secret model who's never even held a gun. That's the kind of effortless femininity this perfume gives me. If you want to smell effortlessly elegant, you absolutely have to try this one.

Анонім★★★★★

Idole Aura, they could never make me hate you. The softest, pillowiest scent cloud and bubble. Inoffensive and pretty. A great mix of all notes where one doesn't overpower the other.

Анонім★★★★★

Love it. This is a summer holliday fragrance, the smell of a day on the beach in Greece. It is similar to the fragrance of Vichy Captain Soleil - solar protective water .

Como Oler un ramo de rosas en la playa. Precioso. ✨️

This was good at inital spray with salty floral summer vibes, but then turned into something similar to playdough. I thought it was my skin. Nope, playdough to a coworker and playdough on fabric. So weird. I was gonna decant it and sell but the lid doesn't actually open like the rest of the idole line so its sitting in it's box in timeout while I figure out what to do. I think I understand why it was discontinued... its ok overall if you don't mind the salt dough thing.

Анонім★★★★★

Idole'ü hiç sevmeyen biri olarak idole aura'ya bayıldığımı söyleyebilirim. Tuzlu, vanilyalı, çiçekli çokk güzel bir koku, çok değişik, koklamalara doyamıyorum 💕

Анонім★★★★★

It’s very springy and summery. Smells like a fruity floral with some added saltiness that makes it kind of addicting, but the vibe wasn’t for me. I picture a trust fund girl going to the beach in her convertible with the top down.

Анонім★★★★★

Received this in a makeup sample bag, and while it isn’t unique enough for me to purchase, I’ll definitely wear the rest of my sample for a safe, easy office scent.

Анонім★★★★★

This is just okay. I have a small bottle and use it while traveling. It packs nicely and is the type of scent that is casual and feminine and good for casual every day use. While it is not my favorite, it serves a purpose and I will use it up most likely by the end of the summer this year as it is best for hot weather. It is a salty rose. I do not get much vanilla. Has a floral beachy vibe that is good for daytime.

Анонім★★★★★

i love this scent. Its smells beautiful and is inoffensive making it a great choice for a signature scent or office scent. The sillage is surprisingly good! I was complimented on this scent from someone at work when I walked past them in the hallway! A couple things to mention: I don’t smell it on myself much after the first couple hours (I think that’s me though as I often go nose blind to perfumes and was complimented near the end of the work day wearing it). Also I’m not a fan of the spray mechanism and the bottle is dangerously thin, albeit beautiful. Overall I highly recommend this fragrance, it is quickly becoming one of my favourites Also thank you to the reviewer a couple reviews below for comparing this to my all-time fav perfume JPG Divine! This was a blind buy that I purchased because of that comparison. It’s not as sweet smelling as Divine but it’s a great comparison and I now found a new perfume that I adore (and found out that I love salt scents) lol!

Анонім★★★★★

this is a what you see is what you smell kind of fragrance: a vanillic salty rose, like a vanilla cake soaked in rosewater and a sprinkle of salt on top. really delicious, the salt note grounds the scent and keeps it from being too sweet and overpowering

Анонім★★★★★

This smells very similar to one of my least favourite scents of all time Jean Paul Gautier Divine. And I could genuinely never put my finger I what I hated about it, its salt. This has salt as a note Divine has sea water as a note. Not exaggerating, it is the worst note to ever be invented, like I can distinctly smell the notes on people and it smells awful. This is definitely better than Divine though, there are moments where I’m smelling it on my arm and don’t get that salt smell and it smells really pretty. It had so much potential 💔

There’s definitely some kind of aura here, but definitely not mine. Even though Lancôme Idole has been on the market for a few years, I only decided to give it a chance this year. On me, Aura smells like a rosy-soapy mix. Rose – but the artificial kind, like in scented products, and salt – which creates a soapy effect. A rose-scented soap, really nothing more. It's a pity, because the bottle is gorgeous. Projection is weak, but the scent lasted a good 6 hours on my skin.

I was absolutely in love with this scent when I first tried it about a year ago. Wonderful dry down as it goes from a very strong rose and vanilla to a soft and cozy sweet vanilla with hints of bitterness. Though after almost a year of using this fragrance I must admit I’m sick of it. I’m not sure if the perfume aged or my tastes have changed but each time I spray it on, it just gets heavy and powdery in less than 30 mins and I always feel as if I’m about to pass out each time I get a whiff. An awesome scent for those who like a powdery, sweet, warm rose that also lasts an eternity as this perfume genuinely stays on my clothes for days before I throw them in the washing machine. Though I don’t recommend if you are easily susceptible to migraines or just don’t like sweet smells.

Анонім★★★★★

So so SO underrated it hurts. I fell in love with this fragrance a couple years ago. I’m on my third bottle. It just radiates and has the prettiest scent bubble unlike anything else I own. Addictive. Please bring it back. 🥹

You can smell the salt, rose, and vanilla notes. It's a more mellow, sweet vanilla-y version of the original Idole. Can be cloying in hot weather.

Анонім★★★★★

A huge upgrade and far more interesting than the original idole, I'm heartbroken they've discontinued it! Opens as a beautiful salty but fresh rose, and the vanilla, musk and florals dry down so deliciously with my skin, there's almost a salted caramel aspect to it after some time. I always get compliments when I wear this perfume and it lasts for days on clothes.

Анонім★★★★★

It's different from Idole, more modern, more powdery, woody, slightly nostalgic. I can't distinguish the salt note yet, but it's a very pleasant perfume, with very little rose. I also likened it to Hermes twilly powder. Not everyone will understand or love this scent.

Анонім★★★★★

This is a salty vanilla with hints of marine notes which make it very wearable during summer 🪸🐚🌊🏖 Like many Lancome fragrances it lasts very well, it is the kind of fragrance that you wear on a saturday night and sunday morning you can still smell it. This one is not as intense as the other Idoles. While the other ones are floral and a bit more intense, this one is creamy and the vanilla is beautiful!

Анонім★★★★★

really nice smelling with a powdery base but nothing out of the ordinary imo!! could be nice for a simple sunny day or or to layer ♡ my first perfume i bought with my own money so will forever be special to me <33

Анонім★★★★★

one of my favorites for summer, and my very favorite Idôle flanker. truly a beautiful, easy-to-wear, salt-kissed floral. starts off with a fresh rose; it's not sugary sweet but not exactly vegetal or green, either. to my nose, this pretty rose lasts most of the wear, but the dry down is absolutely divine. after a few hours, the rose gives way to a sweet (but not cloying) vanilla, kissed by salt (i never quite understood what 'salt' smelled like in perfume until I tried this!). imo the saltiness is what makes this such a stunner in heat - it meshes so well with skin musk/sweat, so, naturally, it works. could be a year-rounder, but I'm not sure it'll still work the same magic in the cold.

Анонім★★★★★

First time I wore this my collegues asked who has such a good perfume, we were in a big room so I was surprised how well it radiates. This fragrance is such a good match with summer, I usually skip vanilla scents especially in the summer but I'm so glad I went for this. Also, men seem to love it, for good reason, it's feminine and sexy and just gives of femme fatale vibes but wearable for summer! I was scared the salt would ruin it but no, it just adds a beachy vibe that fits perfectly with the vanilla florals.
