Its just a perfect blend of raspberry and violet, i definitely can smell a hint of insolence guerlain , but this one is way better and feels more youthful and flirty. The leather note annoyed me at first cause its strong , but its gone after 20 min. This perfume is really perfection it's so mysterious and sexy .
This has that addictive quality, where you can't stop smelling it. I tried it on in the store, immediately purchased it, and put more on when I got home. It's got a very pretty but uncommon Raspberry, not jammy and not bright/sour...not sweet like a body wash... instead, it's like the violet as raspberry are some fresh delicate sorbet.
Amazing - the violet and cocoa butter are exquisite. This is niche in a designer bottle. Definitely one to get your nose on if you’re looking for French perfumery meets something a touch gourmand.
La Vie est Belle, L'Elixir, by Lancôme, smells like raspberry from the garden, synthetic sharper raspberry and cacao butter. The scent is overall fruity and sharp.
LVEB l'elixir and iris absolu are the shining stars in this collection. I love the powdery and sweet direction that the lipstick violet and raspberry take this in. Violet is my favorite floral note and I feel that violet centered fragrances are few and far between. If you love violet like me, I believe you would be very happy with this one. A few sprays stayed with me all day and I've received many "wow you smell so good!" compliments :)
On my skin I'm not detecting any of the liquer/boozy notes or leather that I expected. It's a pretty linear Raspberry frag on me, with a bit of a soapy quality that might from the Bergamonte. I don't get a syrupy vibe from it either, which is surprising. It's more like an effervescent Raspberry. Very nice, but perhaps depends a lot on skin chemistry given how mixed the reviews are. I got a sample, and I may go for a travel vial next to see how it grows on me before diving into a full bottle.
I absolutely love the LVEB line and I was excited to try this. I read the reviews and it appeared a lot of people like this one. I was skeptical about the notes especially the leather but I was hoping the raspberry would be stronger but decided to get it. Unfortunately, the leather was all I could smell on my skin. It started out with the violet and then the leather seeped through almost immediately and remained on my skin till 3 hours later when it eventually dried down to a soft raspberry smell. The weirdest thing is that at the store, the assistant could smell the raspberry outrightly on my skin. She blurted that it smells like candy but I just could not smell the candy. I love Flowerbomb extreme (it is a well done raspberry in my opinion) and was looking forward to layering it with this L'elixir but it is not just for me. I was sad but I had to return it.
It kind of smells like a mixture of a more powdery version of anna sui classic and some good quality rasberry scent. I don't even like rasberry that much and I really dislike the original la vie est belle but this perfume is so amazing, mysterious, sexy, deep yet fresh, etc.. I love it!
La Vie East Belle L'Elixir is reminiscent of a boozy raspberry and rose added to a base of Guerlain Insolence. Beautiful dew drop feel with a red fruit cocktail. Fun, sexy and flirty on a tropical night. Last all night with good projection.
Gave this a brief sniff on the Duty Free and I wasn't a fan. Felt like a too sweet syrupy raspberry. I really didn't like it at first, so I doubt I'd like it sprayed on skin. Update: smelled it again today, and found it still very syrupy, but way nicer. I think if you enjoy this strong profile of a velvety, opulent DNA, then you'll like this. But it's veeeery sweet. Throws a different vibe to LVEB, definitely.
Sıktığım an gelen ahududu beni aşırı soğuttu ama bir on dakika geçince uzaklaştı.
This one has been disappointing for me. When I ordered my free sample, I was expecting liquor-soaked chocolate-covered raspberries, so I was very excited. However, this didn't meet my expectations at all. I got a mildly sweet raspberry with a strong floral background. I didn't get much liquor and absolutely no cacao. It turned out very disappointing to me.
On paper at first I get a beautiful jammy raspberry and cocoa blend that I loved so much, but when it dries down it's the same violet leaf-leather combo as in Tom Ford Ombre Leather Parfum, I'm not sure if I like the later. On my skin, the raspberry lasts about 2 hours, and after that I mostly get violet/violet leaf and a little bit of leather that blends very nice on my skin, I feel this could be an unisex perfume because of the drydown, but still this fragrance is so polarizing! At first u geet something sweet then turns into a green, ozonic scent.
I want to love this, really do, but it's a bit too sweet. I'm still on the hunt for a replacement for "Faerie" by Van Cleef. This is close, but I think I will pass. I love Iris smell a lot and still look for the perfect combo that is not sweet or musky.
This fragrance stinks. It smells nothing like the original which is far better. The raspberry and liquor notes makes it smell so synthetic and cheap. How in the world can so many people like it? Smells like cough syrup. I can't believe Lancome made this and thought it was a good idea. What are people thinking these days? Even my 11-year-old thinks it stinks. Yuck.
This is to me is the rock-n-roll version of La vie est belle. I love it! It is similar to Miss Dior Essence, but if I remember correctly that one is not as intense as this!
This gem is amazing in all La Vie belle series. Trust me it is great compliment getter even people with sensitive nose gave me compliments. This can be easily one's signature scent. And it last all day longer even you can smell it next day. Really Lancome has done an amazing job with this lovely fragrance. I will definitely be buying this again and again.
La Vie Est Belle L’Élixir opens with a thick, boozy raspberry swirl, the kind that feels more like a dark liqueur poured over warm fruit than a bright berry splash. The liquor note gives it a slow, syrupy warmth, and the Calabrian bergamot is barely a whisper - more of a soft lift than a citrus presence. There’s no sparkle, no freshness, no pink fizz. Just a deep, glossy berry‑liqueur glaze. In the heart, the violet leaf adds a cool, slightly green sheen that keeps the sweetness from collapsing into jam. It’s subtle, more textural than leafy. The rose is soft and warm, not sharp or dewy - it behaves like a floral shadow rather than a bouquet, blending into the raspberry‑liqueur haze rather than sitting on top of it. The base is where L’Élixir becomes genuinely distinctive. The leather is suede‑soft, adding depth and a gentle darkness without turning the fragrance harsh. The cacao butter melts through the composition, giving it a creamy, edible warmth - not chocolate, but a smooth, buttery gourmand hum. The cedarwood anchors everything with a glowing, woody backbone that keeps the sweetness warm rather than sticky. The overall effect is dark, creamy, warm, and quietly sensual - a more nocturnal, intimate take on the LVEB universe. It doesn’t have the bright praline‑patchouli signature of the original, which is why some people say it “lacks LVEB DNA.” But what it offers instead is a smoother, thicker, more enveloping sweetness with a soft leather‑cacao base that feels far more grown and shadowed. It’s LVEB after hours: boozy raspberry, soft rose, creamy cacao butter, suede leather, and a warm cedarwood glow. 7.5/10 - A rare LVEB that doesn’t assault me with citrus, clean musk, or overly pink florals.
This is a "grown up" raspberry perfume, but still absolutely incredible. One of my absolute favorites in a long time. The raspberry opening can easily carry over almost all day, but not as intensely as first spray (very typical of berry or fruity openings). I don't really smell bergamot so much, but it's definitely still there but more so as a supporting note. The violet really comes out after 1-2 hours, but with raspberry still there. I didn't notice the leather so much until the very end (8 hours) and even then it is quite faint. The cocoa butter base is absolute genius. As far as liquor note goes, it's very muted and not something you notice right away, but if you try a similar "fruity" fragrance, you'll notice many others come across as too sweet, or juvenile (like middle school girls overspraying Bath and Bodyworks in the gym). The liquor note is more of a supporting one for the raspberry that keeps it from being overly sweet, liquor smells similar to a brandy, bourbon, or rum. Great for cool Spring weather, but definitely not a hot humid summer wear for outdoor work or outdoor activities. If you are inside all day, this could work as an "office" fragrance, but definitely do not overspray. 1 spray easily lasts 6-9 hours. After 8 hours of wearing it, my husband asked me : "Are you wearing something? I like it!" Guess this one is a permanent Fall to Spring keeper.
I'm wearing today, such amazing fragrance. Criminally underated. Each time I wear it I automatically think that I need a backup 💗 is beautiful fragrance, is cream, powdery, elegant Chery, red fruit, licorice does fit very well with colder weather💗 I strongly disagree with the comment bellow saying about chemical or artificial smell, is not what I think.
as someone who finds the other LVEB fragrances to be mid, I'm in love with this fruity powder bomb. it is syrupy but the sourness of the berry balances this out very well. the powdery violet also helps offset any juvenile, overly sugary vibes. this reminds me of the smell of a berry red christmas candle from my childhood. it feels good to finally have that same scent in my hands. I sprayed this on my wrist and, after my shower, the leather and cocoa butter left a beautiful impression
Whoa. Beast mode raspberry chemical lab. Addicted to smelling but caused my partner to physically recoil. Super vulgar. I like it but it’s crazy.
My first encounter with this fragrance happened the year it was released. I went to a perfume store and tested a huge number of scents that day (I live far from stores and rarely get the chance to visit places that carry perfume, so whenever I do, I try to smell as many as possible). That day I sprayed Elixir on my wrist (along with about ten other fragrances) and headed home. On the way, I kept smelling my wrist and couldn’t remember what I had applied. I kept going over it in my head, trying to figure it out, and eventually realized it was La Vie est Belle L’Elixir by Lancôme. I loved the drydown on my skin so much (often the opening is beautiful, but once a fragrance settles into the base, I just want to wash it off). To make sure I wasn’t mistaken and that I truly needed it, I bought three original samples. I finished two very quickly and carefully saved the third. Gradually, I started thinking about getting a full bottle (the price was high at the time). And eventually, I finally bought the full bottle. About the scent: it has everything I love - a berry-like tartness (I can’t clearly single out raspberry), light and airy powderiness, and a soft, delicate veil. I own many powdery fragrances, but sometimes they sit on my skin like a dense layer of powder and make me feel heavy and even slightly sick. That makes me sad because I love powdery scents, but they usually work best only in cool weather. In this fragrance, everything came together perfectly: the tartness I adore, soft powderiness, and femininity. I feel happy when I wear it. However, I use it very rarely - not because I want to save it, but because I’m afraid of losing that magical feeling of happiness I get when I wear it. I’m afraid of applying too much or wearing it at the wrong time or in the wrong weather, and the magic might disappear and turn into a negative association. This has happened to me before with fragrances I deeply loved but wore at the wrong time and place, and I couldn’t return to them even years later. There’s also a hint of a Soviet-style berry kissel in it - and I actually love that. A delicious, slightly tart, starchy berry dessert. Yet the fragrance still feels feminine and soulful on me. When I wear it, I feel like a floating fairy in a meadow filled with forest berries
My favorite LVEB -but it lacks the original LVEB dna. Strong violet and jelly beans.
just bought another bottle of this. BIG LOVE.

Oh. My. Goodness. SO GOOD! I like this way better than the original. (And wouldn’t be able to tell it was La Vie Est Belle flanker on a blind sniff.) Initial spray is reminiscent of Swedish Fish candy, but not in a juvenile way. Dry down is like a warm, fruity hug. Comforting and uplifting. This is a scent I never want to run out of and can see it becoming my signature.
This is genuinely one of my favourite fragrances of all time now!! 🤍💜 I actually discovered La Vie Est Belle Elixir while visiting a perfume store and chatting to the absolute sweetest worker!!! I told them I was desperate to find something that smells like the Parma violet sweets from my childhood, and they immediately handed me this to tryand I fell in love on the spot 💜✨ It really does smell like Parma violets, but even better!! It has that soft, powdery violet sweetness, but with this gorgeous juicy raspberry note that makes it feel more vibrant and almost mouth watering 🍬 It’s sweet, sugary, slightly powdery, and still somehow very elegant. The raspberries come through really fresh and juicy, and the violet adds that soft floral touch. There’s also a slight warmth in the background that almost feels a little boozy, which just makes everything blend together soooo beautifully!! What’s crazy is I probably would have never picked this up on my own since I’m not usually a fan of the original La Vie Est Belle DNA. But this version completely changed my mind. Every time I wear it, I can’t stop smelling myself because it just smells so good 😭💜 I usually go for really heavy, cakey gourmands, but this feels like the perfect balance. It’s still sweet and edible leaning, but in a more refined and elegant way. The performance is amazing too. The sillage is strong and even with just one or two sprays I can smell it from over an arm’s length away. It also lasts really well on me, I can still smell it after around 5 hours ✨ I’m honestly just obsessed with this one. Such an easy 10/10 for me 🤍💜
