10/10 Parfum de Ma Rivka, extraordinaire et superbe performance , meilleure fragrance féminine du monde avec Le Rouge Balmain et Velvet Rose et Oud Jo Malone.
I have a bottle of vintage Trésor that is thirty years old—yes, indeed, twenty-nine years to be exact—and it is PERFECT. The quality of perfumes from decades ago is astounding; I bow to the quality of so many formulas from the past. The original formula features such an amazing peach accord—an elegant syrup, nuanced with velvety rose. It is the perfume of love, the perfume for beautiful souls with romantic hearts. Trésor is still lovely and charming today, but no, it isn't the same. For quite some time now, the formula has emphasized the vanilla-rose combination more and the peach less; times change, of course, but it is no longer that same syrupy, romantic blend. Remember, if you want the genuine formula, look for a bottle that is *not* a very squat, inverted pyramid. For the exact original formula, you need to find the first bottle from the 90s—created by the agency Style Marque—where the glass rose and widened upwards in concentric, faceted glass tiers; it is an inverted pyramid, but much more elongated. That formula is the true embodiment of the unadulterated romanticism of the 90s 😉
This is a hard one for me. Always brings back memories. It's nostalgic is an indescribable way but not dated. I like it a lot but it does strain your nose a little and can be cloying. I love the more green and powdery notes but I have a hard time with it alone. It's better with a moderately strong vanilla oil underneath it. A 5.8/10 for me
Trésor is a timeless oriental floral fragrance that blends juicy peach and apricot with elegant rose, jasmine, and iris. Its warm base of vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and musk creates a rich, romantic finish, making it a sophisticated choice for evening wear or special occasions.
Oh Tresor, what have they done to you? I bought a contemporary bottle of this lately not having worn it since the 90s or early 00s. This is definitely not what I remember, I remember a huge dose of apricot. I'm not sure what has been done in reformulation but I really don't recognise it. Maybe it's the passage of time playing tricks on my nose, who knows. Sometimes if it aint broke, don't fix it.
Beautiful one, it has an elegant vintage vibe about itself. Interesting blend of peach and apricot and an airy rose in the background. There's a perfume from oriflamme that smells and feels quite similar to this and I think they made it to replicate this one. It's called Volare. But I much more prefer this one.
In the early 90’s we had an exchange student from Germany who wore this. She loved it. I thought she and the perfume were quite sophisticated compared to my small farming community. I couldn’t afford Tresor back in those days, so I took to sampling it at the stores any time I could. I found a 2022 travel size at a thrift store recently and was so excited to travel back in time. However, it doesn’t smell like I remember. The apricot and peach give it a very 80’s/90’s vibe but not in a good way. It smells old instead of classic, like it was made with dried flowers. However… I also purchased a mini that dates to 2017, before the latest reformulation. THIS is MUCH closer to what I remember! Fresh roses at the peak of sweetness. Sandalwood and soft spice. A bit of peach for that vintage flair. I’ll be keeping this little bottle forever.
A little disappointing only because Penelope Cruz advertises this scent and I'm obsessed
I have had many bottles of this. I agree it doesn't smell like I remember from the initial launch back in the 1990's (but then my nose has changed, and my skin has definitely changed) I hadn't had any of this in years but I bought a full bottle a couple of years ago and I still love it. It does have to settle down for about 20 minutes before it morphs into what I enjoy. The dry down is what matters to me - the opening is so short lived. It works well with my chemistry and makes me feel classy and feminine.
When I was 20, I worked for Lancome in 1990 when Tresor came out. Ironically, I loved Magi Noire, the old lady one lol. Lancome supplied us with bags and bags of rose petals. I stood for hours at the edge of my counter at ZCMI in my grey smock, passing out peach colored petals. If there was a counter that had anything other than white test strips, no one had seen them so people always took the petals. Customers would come to the counter, hand me a petal and ask for “this.” Like a guy at a pizza shop always smells like garlic, I smelled like Tresor. At Christmas Lancome had a contest for the first rep to sell the bottle of pure parfum. On Christmas Eve, a last minute husband came and pointed to the tiny bottle in its own display case. I can't remember the price, but none of the stores had sold one. I was so excited wrapping it with the Tresor Christmas paper, trying to act completely normal. I called my account manager first thing. My coworkers were excited with me - our store was smaller with less traffic. To beat downtown ZCMI and Nordstrom was a big deal. Bragging rights were almost as good as the prize - a bottle of Magi Noire edp (my choice) and a bracelet from Tiffany’s. I can't tell you whether Tresor smells good or bad, but boy, it holds memories from a different time. Thanks for letting me walk down memory lane a bit.
Launched in 1990 and created by the legendary nose Sophia Grojsman, Trésor is not simply a perfume: it is a monument of liquid perfumery, a manifesto of absolute romanticism that marked an era and which continues, decades later, to enchant. Its inverted pyramid bottle, reminiscent of a rough and precious diamond, contains an amber-colored liquid that promises (and maintains) timeless elegance. A Triumph of Peach and Rose. Trésor is the undisputed king of floral-oriental perfumes. Its structure is famous for not following the classic linear evolution, but for gravitating around a monumental agreement. As soon as it is vaporized, Trésor hits the senses with a velvety and fruity sweetness. It is not the fresh and juicy fruit that modern perfumes have accustomed us to; it is a peach in syrup, warm and ripe, enveloped in the softness of apricot peel. In a few minutes the true beating heart of the fragrance emerges: a powdery and opulent rose, made almost creamy by iris and heliotrope. There's an "old-time makeup powder" feel to it, incredibly sophisticated and reassuring. The base is a warm and enveloping embrace of vanilla and amber, which blends with the skin creating a sensual, intimate but very powerful aura. It smells of warm skin, of sincere hugs, of a mature, aware and welcoming femininity. Trésor is a child of the 90s, an era in which perfumes had to get noticed. Duration: Extraordinary. On the skin it easily exceeds 8-10 hours, while on clothes (especially coats or scarves in winter) it can last for days. Sillage (Sillage): Intense. It's a fragrance that fills the room. Very few sprays are enough to be noticed, so the advice is to dose it carefully. It is perfect for the evening or for cold days when you are looking for a "cashmere sweater effect". It's not a "youthful" fragrance in the modern sense (no hints of marshmallow or cheap caramel); It beautifully dresses a person who loves classic elegance, romantic nostalgia and who is not afraid to wear a perfume with a strong personality. Trésor is a masterpiece of perfumery. It may seem "important" or even retro for those accustomed to today's light waters, but it remains a "treasure" in name and in fact. It is the scent of romantic love, timeless and precious. If you love powdery notes, rose and peach, this is your holy grail.
I really really love the scents in this perfume. It's just a perfect mix of fruity, sweet and floral to me at the same time. For me it's just way too powdery. The first smell was bliss but then it became too much as the powderiness is overpowering and doesn't feel soft anymore. It lasts a long time and the sillage is just rigth in my opinion. Got the small one as a gift, but propably wouldn'y buy it myself.
Obviously reformulated. No longer represents the Tresor we knew. Doesn't even smell like a knock off. It's like someone working remotely who doesn't care and never smelled Tresor, was given a description of it by someone who's anosmic and doesn't care, and was asked to reformulate it using a small number of cheaper quality ingredients. I'm sorry, I don't have anything nice to say about this. Imagine buying this online. It would be like receiving a box of rocks instead of a new phone. All those giving positive reviews must be on turbo charged happy pills.
I tried a sample and This is sooo unique, very beautiful & sexy and elegant love this masterpiece by lancome
It really smells like a trail mix. I always feel like it is very nutty, more apricot seed than apricot, and then peanuts?!? (Not almond or pistachio typa nutty ofc) I go between loving it and not caring for it as much but Lancome is a very sentimental brand to me and I actually prefer this one to La Vie est Belle
I adore Tresor! If you like soft, gentle, warm powdery and creamy, elegant with a cuddle factor kind of fragrance, this is so perfect. It is a apricoty peach fragrance and so incredibly well done!! The slightly bitter aspect of the skin of the peach is also present. I feel that in colder weather this somewhat bitter/typical peachskin aspect comes to the forefront more and therefore i think it's best suited for spring, perhaps summer and definitely also autumn. And i feel it's one of the most misunderstood fragrances here on fragrantica. But also one of the most popular still in general. Don't spray too close to the skin, 1 spray in the back of the hairline (neck), decolleté and/or one on wrist and one inside elbow. Just pure magic.✨🌟 Beautiful, feminine, classy, elegant, refined, kind. Longevity on skin up to 8 hours on me, on clothes it's days, very long. Edit 17 may 2026. : I'm re-reading Luca Turin and Tanya Sanchez (the little book of perfumes) since today and decided to give (mostly LT) him another chance. I used to dislike his severely subjectified and sometimes very mean opinions of fragrance😂( a lot of those that i love), but since i rediscovered vintage and retro fragrance i felt drawn to their reviews again. (Also, i stopped taking fragrance too personally. They are an addition of beauty to my personal experience and in no way a definition of me.) And i am learning tonnes about all aspects of perfumery from them, actually loving and finding myself appreciative of the witty style of writing. That said, i however DO love the reformulation of Trésor, finding it still a deeply romantic and feminine quality fragrance with a beautiful character and warmth unparalelled by modern perfumery. Even though Sophia Grojsman greatly opposes these reformulations aspecially if they are only to please modern noses and trends. And with that last part i do agree. Of course!. But i still love Tresor so🫣🧡🩷🧡
I love Trésor. I've decided to give it a chance after listening to a podcast where a perfumer who's been Sophia Grojsman's student was really appreciative of it; well, she was right. It's a delicious peach, not a shampoo-kind of peach, but a vintage peach note. It's really fruity and nostalgic (I guess a lot of women must have worn it when I was a child), and I love to wear it sometimes. My vice is that I layer it with Iris Torréfié to get that iris/peach combo that I can't really find anywhere as good as Iris de Fath. Also, IDK where you all get your old ladies that smell like that, but send them to me, please.
Fresh peaches, sweet apricots, Parisian lilac scented nights, powdery sandalwood, a dash of pineapple with bergamot, clean musky rose dry down,,,,Tresor is literally mouthwatering delicious. I’ve went through so many bottles over the years . Tresor must be my comfort fragrance since I’m never without a bottle of this masterpiece. It smells soooooo good with my chemistry, never gives me a headache & never goes out of style…. Love forever & I love every flanker too…..yummy 🌸🌹💐💕🍑🍑🍑
There’s something is there that smells like a nail polish remover and I can’t get past it. It’s all I smell. I love the bottle and it’s a classic scent but that note is very strong preventing me from liking this perfume.
I have a bottle I bought about five years ago that I keep around, but sadly I don't enjoy it anymore. I try to wear it occasionally, like today, but what used to be a sweet, powdery, peachy, syrupy dense floral now has this sour nuttiness to it and makes me a little woozy. Maybe I have changed, but I will probably not wear it again but just keep the bottle for memories.
My God, what have they done to this perfume masterpiece?! I gather there are many people who have never truly smelled Trésor, or they would never buy this trash. So many young people today will never know what real perfume smell smells like, only chemicals. Once upon a time, this was a syrupy peach, delicious vanilla, soft powder, with just a little earthiness in the base, like an oakmoss & patchouly blend, and very soft spices. Unfortunately, it never worked on my chemistry, but one of my closest friends wore it, and it smelled beautiful on her. Plus, I owned it (gifted to me) and have worn it many, many times, since it was around for decades before Lancôme destroyed it. I picked up a tester the other day and spritzed it on just to see if I might like to have a bottle now. What on Earth is this nasty pond scum? I can't even smell any apricot or vanilla anymore, just synthetic oakmoss that smells old and musty. This is such a joke. Why don't they just retire it instead of selling trash like this? I mean it's like WW3 happened on Trésor--it has been decimated.
Admittedly I had high expectations given the amount of praise Trésor has received, but it fell a bit short to me. Don't get me wrong, I see why people adore her, but it is definitely a vintage fragrance. It's very bright and shampoo-y on initial spray, and it lasts on my skin until the next morning. As a peach collector I was expecting a bit more presence on that note, but it really just blends into a fruity mix rather than one standing out in particular. On the dry down I get the woodiness and florals, so if you enjoy a very bright and soapy fragrance that develops into something warmer then this would be for you. If you don't want something as mature and more straightforward with the rose and peach notes you can try Lancôme's Peach 'N Roses, the only caveat being that it has worse performance than this. Overall, not too bad.
This was not my cup of tea. It smelled so bloody sour on my skin that I physically recoiled. I gave it away. Adding citrus fruit and sour fruit notes to this fragrance is a huge mistake. The quality is top notch, though, as expected from a notable high-end brand.
This scent is very "scentimental" to me. My sister in law gave my sister and I a bottle to share in the very early 90's. I was maybe 16? She was married to my older brother and they knew my parents couldn't afford to buy expensive perfumes for my little sister and I. She had purchased the Tresor for herself, but didn't care for it, so she gave it to us. I felt so important. I remember that first spray. The heady floral drying down to a powdery amber vanilla musky scent. It seemed to almost have the smallest hint, just the teeny tiniest hint of a play doh scent that we didn't mind. I'm not sure what note that could have even been, but that was why my sister in law gave it to us. I do not get any peach or pineapple in this at all. Just heavy powder, amber, and vanilla.
The perfume equivalent of the loveliest, soft furred, friendliest puppy leaping on your lap to give you the cuddle of your life. A cutie with an impeccable pedigree. My miniature bottle dates from 1999 with no degradation but added depth. (Lucky me.) But I would happily wear the current version. I'm surprised by so many sniffy reviews and the ubiquitous (yawn) 'old lady' comments from those who often prefer to smell like confectionery instead of fruit and flowers (yes, they are very present to my nose.) Tresor is far from subtle which is why I use it sparingly, but when I do, it feels so good to be able to shout from the rooftops rather than mumbling apologetically. A classic and a joy.
Old lady. I do not declutter it just because I like the bottle.
I had Trésor on my wishlist for a very long time. The note pyramid looked beautiful, and in general I tend to like fragrances from Lancôme. Today I finally tried it in store - and it is nothing like I expected. There is no sweet, juicy, sun-ripened peach here. In fact, I don’t get any sweetness at all. Instead, the peach feels extremely green and unripe, still hanging from a thin, green branch. To my nose, I smell the branch itself even more clearly than the peach. It creates a very green, slightly woody impression, almost like standing near a peach tree with green, unripened fruits. It’s not unpleasant at all but it’s definitely not the peachy sweetness I imagined. If you are looking for a truly juicy, sweet peach from Lancôme, I would suggest trying their Peach & Roses instead. I will definitely come back to test Trésor. It’s an interesting fragrance, though I’m not sure if it’s really for me.
Wearing from a vintage Parfum. I had to get it, years after its blockbuster status, probably before L’Oréal, because I was tempted by the saturation of advertising and popularity back in the day before the internet. I remember hastening to a department store to smell it, and being let down. Not repelled, not maybe-ed, not buy to spritz before work. (I would get perfumes I liked well enough and wear to work.) This is a fluorescent rosey fruity floral, (actually what floral is even in here?) (what fruit is this supposed to be?) with absolutely NO feeling of natural materials, and really there was nothing like it back then. There’s not much like it now. I can picture my experience of it, for whatever reason the imagery of the beautiful model (Isabella Rossellini?) the name, the legend…somehow did not create in my mind the sort of immortal perfume I envisaged wearing. Treasure? The strange thing is, it’s almost leapfrogged into currency as I wear it tonight. Lip gloss. Presaging led lighting in the cold spectrum. Department store deodorant sprays. Wanting more chemical fruit and synthetic music. Almost a cherry bomb. A post fruitchuli fruitchuli without the ‘chuli. Almost a scintillating chemical musk bomb. Almost a laundry scent designed to persist through every cycle, ironically smelling its best when rinsed by fresh air and sunlight. Yet contemporary niche perfumes use a dirty version of this trope to transfix us. Off world fruit, aldehydes, chemicals, Priss in her opaque skin suit, wearing acne studios and India ink. I’m just loving it now, what a stunner. I could have missed out on it, I put it away and it’s taken ten years to pick it up again. Re reading this, and reflecting on my perfume travels, and the ubiquitous beauty of Isabella Rossellini in every advertisement and airport in the world, I remember being stuck in Fiji, a beautiful place I can only beg the cosmos to survive. I had my exactly one year old baby, we took her to the international date line for her birthday just to nerd it. Was she one year old or what? lol Anyway. We had to depart. There was only five of us. We were in the very small island airport, more of a shed really, but it had the ubiquitous Isabella R lit up thing in the only duty free shop. Someone switched off the lights, Isabella went dark. Bemused, we sat there. The pilots, both Aussies, rather scruffy looking as is typical, came out, guarding the most jaw droppingly elegant saried beautiful Islander woman ‘hostess’. We said hey, what’s up….the hostess says…the plane is bloody fucked. Anyway whenever we have an airport problem for the last three decades, it is always bloody fucked, like now I guess
This is one that just doesn't work with my skin chemistry. There's nothing in the listed notes that I dislike. It smelled okay on the test strip, but it was absolutely awful on my skin - like moldy soil, something rotten, and a hint of a flower. I wish it smelled on me like the positive reviews say.
This just gives me comfort. Soothing and nostalgic. I love modern perfumes but this is an exception to it.
