Everyone who said something bad about this, like it smells like an old arabic lady, i totally agree with all of you, but there's still something in this that makes me not to stop loving this fragrance. I really cannot describe how this one makes me feel but even as a young guy smelling this just feels so good
What a crazy smell this is. I love the opening. I actually love the whole thing actually, but the opening is my favorite. This is a challenging fragrance, but great too.
This is my second review of this perfume. I have close to 120 perfumes and this is one of the few that leaves trail, 8-9 ft sillage. this is not a closed door scent, its more of outdoors, where you want people to ask you what you are wearing, smells seductive fresh in air. Man can wear this, women can wear this, its awesome. i have usedup 4 bottles, my brother, my husband, someone from my husbands office bought it right in front of him after confronting him about what he was wearing. this is not a paper strip smelling kind of frag. it is like a firework that you have to see from a distance. thats right.!
I had the full bottle for 5 minutes before asking for a return. Now I'm going to be uncouth but this is the smell of milfs. I was so embarassed I showered twice
With a mfg date of 2/24, I figured my bottle would be good to go straight away...but this went to perfume jail after a few wears to oxidize. I got mostly red berries (the blood orange and pear, I guess) and tuberose that had a distinct dentist office smell. Maybe there's a fluoride treatment flavour that smells strongly of the mix, but that's all my mind could place, which sadly put me off this bottle for a while. After a two-month time out, I'm glad to find that it has changed. The white florals are still the loudest piece from start to finish to my nose, but now I'm also able to pick out the woody tones and the warm vanilla and tonka bean. Initial spray still gives dentist, but it fades out in under ten minutes and the dry down is rather warm and cozy, which is a pleasant surprise. The longevity and projection are insane with just one spray, especially for a perfume which cost me $23 CAD. This was by far the most challenging bottle from the Opulent lineup for me initially, but I'm really growing to like it. Depending on how this behaves over the next few months, this may actually be upgraded to a love.
Initially, I had a difficult time placing it. But then it hit me. "Opulent Red" reminds me of Jacques Fath "Rosso Epicureo," which is a perfume I do not like. For me the plum, black currant and citrus notes in Rosso Epicureo smell too close to mulled red wine. Opulent Red has blood orange, which is a more appealing opening accord to me (versus the opening in RE). While I'm not a fan of strong fruit openings, the blood orange In Opulent Red is well done and gives the perfume a slightly fruity, liquor-ish start without too much booziness. Opulent Red's dense base notes somehow manage to lift the perfume's white florals. And the white florals are quite prominent in this fragrance. I like the way the white florals are done, as they hold their own against a VERY woody, vanilla, tonka bean dry down. Opulent Red is dense, heady, resinous, fragrant, long lasting. Not your typical over-done fruitcholi. However, an aged-fruit & dark wood accord remains throughout the perfume's development, which begins smelling musty on my skin. I find this phase of the perfume's development difficult to take. Opulent Red is okay but not the like, or love I hoped for.
to complete my review, i'll say it's not mass appeailing, maybe not blind buy safe (but for this price maybe), it's a niche scent , in my noise.
Beautiful perfumery! I bought it off of the strength of the smell on the tester strip. Those floral notes hooked my nose in a seductive manner. Yes its definite more feminine leaning than masculine but despite that, its still smell so good. Its a polarizing perfume. I got it for 10 brunei/Singapore dollars! It was an older batch from 2022 Its better than afnan 9pm. You'd have to be crazy and extremely confident to use this perfume as a man. It befits a king. not the common man. perhaps layer it with masculine dna perfume if you don't feel comfortable with it 😃
I immediately smell an extravagant red fruit scent, extremely seductive. A complex perfume that fills a room and lasts very well. At least in my case, if I wear it, I either get compliments or I often get negative reactions. Although it seems more feminine, as a boy I love wearing it. From Lattafa I also have Khamrah Qahwa and Fakhar Black. My rating for this perfume is 10/10
I really tried to love it and wear it but it is quite headache inducing, the floral is very overpowering, but I do quite enjoy the citrus and peppery opening, but afterwards the shifts to a sweeter, booze blend, which is sweeter than the vivo cerruti. It is enjoyable at the opening but the dry down which makes me have a headache afterwards. I did blind buy this which is a big no no, but the pricing of 15 $ only was tempting so i bought to try it out. - Not great for blind buy - sweet, booze and floral scent - very cheap - great packaging (carpet box) - feels niche
imo, maybe, some perfumes need a trained noise. i know every taste are different. you can dislike opulent red, but you can't say it's bad. if you smell gasoline it means the perfum as to sit a little. spray a little than but it back in her box and comme back one or 2 months later. so many facettes, so brilliant. for this price. thanks again Lattafa for this niche masterpiece
I really wanted to like this scent, but the spiciness and the fruit scents come together in such a strange way that it reminds me of the smell of a public bathroom :(
This is a rather strange scent to me. When I first sprayed it, it had a terrible leathery smell mixed with sweet notes; I didn't smell any gasoline or plastic like others mentioned. A few hours later, I sprayed it again and it surprised me greatly. The disgusting leather smell was gone, replaced by a very sweet fruity scent mixed with vanilla and woody note. By the way, this scent has nothing to do with Alien or Rouge Malachite, its very unique. I was completely blind-buy because it was so cheap (20$) and the bottle was beautiful. I think I can use it daily from now on, but I'll try letting it macerate for a few weeks to reach its full potential. In short, it's a pretty great scent for me.
I’m a big fan of Lattafa, but this red bottle smells terrible. Big NO NO NO! It’s so unpleasant—it’s not oud, not medicinal, not metallic. It just smells heavy, suffocating and gives me a headache. I don’t get any fruit, no tuberose (my absolute favorite), no jasmine, no oud at all. This is the worst Lattafa I’ve ever smelled, so far. Come on Lattafa, why hell did you do this to me?
Not a hint of a woody accord, this is a White Floral bomb, if that's your thing. I am a male that will wear unisex all the time, this is not unisex, it's firmly a woman's fragrance. It's very similar to Lail Maleki Lattafa, another Lattafa alleged unisex that's a fem forward white floral bomb but even brighter. There is no spice to be found, I have lots of lattafa oud bottles, no oud is here.... it's heavy white floral and some fruit. I would sum this up as a "6" out of 10 white floral cheapie.
I wear nothing but spicy white florals and this is NOT for us!! Literally not being funny, the worst perfume I’ve ever smelled! The white floral? Is hiding behind the death, the gas the rubber idk 🤷♀️ it’s bad!
I'm still debating whether or not, when I die, if I'm buried or aquamated. Bury me with this, and all of my other favorite perfumes. I was afraid of this, because I've never had any perfume with oud before. I'm not longer afraid. The blood orange in this is so rich. I've never had a perfume with blood orange that actually delivered. The blood orange, pink pepper, and cardamom are so playful together. The oud is like a soft undercurrent that caught me off guard in the best way. This is probably the gentlest oud I'll ever experience, and that's a great way to start for someone new to oud, so you're not frightened away. It lasts a solid 8 hours, and my husband smelled it on me when he went to hug me in the afternoon. That's what I want from a perfume. The dry down is something vaguely spicy. Delightful. I feel like it can be worn all year round, depending on your activity. I don't get florals, but that's my nose. Fine by me. I bought for the citrus and the oud. Everyone's nose is different, we all know that, but at first sniff, this smelled just like a blood orange Fanta (definitely the cardamom). Yeah, bury me with this. And to everyone who hates it: more for me!
This is kinda hard to recommend. It's very unique bold and big white creamy floral. It's quite complex with smooth transitions but it has a noticeable oud. My bottle is at least two years old so it matured well and has admirable performances. However it's not for everyones taste. It would appeal to fans of vintage white florals. For the longest time I was debating if it is big like or it turns my stomach because of oud and it's funky vintage floral vibe. At the end of the day it gathers compliments and gets from me a big like.
This smells like every other Muslim lady in her 50’s, over spraying the fuck out of her perfume🤢
This is an old review, but this was the first lattafa that I ever bought about 2 1/2 years ago it’s gasoline it’s gasoline and not that good gasoline smell tone not that . It’s really really bad.!! there is nothing redeemable about this. It is not complex. It is just a bunch of stuff thrown together and sadly what you get is a very chemically gasoline smell with some death and rubber? ! I don’t usually hate anything and this I hated this was a hate hate. Hate.!! It does not smell similar to rouge malachite . It does not smell similar to alien infusion…the end. You know lattafa has some perfumes that work and are ok? I’ve been trying Arabic dupe fragrances for a while now, and honestly, I have not found one that I am madly in love with, sadly likes but no loves. but just don’t with this one just don’t
I smell sth bitter, probabbly. After 1h i smell mix between guidance and alien. I am not sure if i like this. I will let it macerate.
What is this, a unisex version of Polo Red Parfum? So odd. It's like they amped up the pink pepper and added tuberose and excessive levels of jasmine into Polo Red Parfum to make it unisex. I just don't like that bubblegum pink pepper combo, it's a bit too sharp and fiery. A little to feminine for a man, but you can wear it or layer it with something masculine to make it work. Just layer it with some 1 million clone and it might work for ya.
Damn, how did I get this for only fifteen euros? You can’t even get a 100ml Zara fragrance for that. That’s pretty crazy to think about. I blind bought it, figuring it was worth the risk. I love white flowers, I love Alien which people seem to compare it to, and the notes in general are all pretty awesome to me. Do I agree that it smells like Alien? No, not at all. Does it give oud to me? Also, no. It’s a very white flowers – amber – blood orange fragrance to me. Very complex, warm and heavy. It’s very perfumey, which I understand why people would say it leans feminine, but it’s still unisex to me. Packaging is good in my opinion, especially for the price. The box is nice and velvety, and while I’m usually not a fan of the red and gold combo, and I often find that the very standard, primary red color – compared to different shades of red – can look cheap, but I like this bottle. Maybe it’s the metallic feel that it has that makes it more classy to me.
I liked it on a friend and asked her about the name, which couldn’t remember. Next week she gifted me a bottle because I liked it on her. This fragrance stayed long on my wishlist hoping for Rough Malachite dope. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work for me. It smells sickly sweet. syrupy, with underlying berry notes, tuberose bomb, synthetic sweety amber accords, and overwhelming sweet vanilla like bourbon vanilla. The woody nuances here, ( I notice only the cashmeran), are reminiscent of Elizabeth Tylor line, specially the rouge one. But the latter has more balanced notes. When a lady with this fragrance trail passes by you, you would think: Gosh, from which photo album did she scape out! Mostly 90s vibes. One absolute fact about OR is that it’s seductive in a cheap way. A kind of what a grownup prostitute with red sexy extremely tight and short outfit with high heels, standing outside of a night club in las vegas or miami would wear. I feel shy to go outside wearing it, as it has sexual appeal, and the sillage sends unintentionally strong signals getting you massive attention. Overall, It’s not a bad scent, has no gasoline smell, neither has plastic notes. It’s just not for everybody. It’s more intimidating than a crowd pleaser, I’m thinking to give it a chance and make it work. By waiting until cooler months and try it again, maybe layer it with some musky, floral or woody scents. For the people who enjoy this fragrance, which layering combo would you advice?
Osy2017! I thought I was the only one getting that plastic smell (usually towards the dry down) of all the Lattafas Ive tried. I don't blind buy them anymore after they sold me the atrocity that is called Khamrah, but I've ordered a few decants, and MY GOD. The plastic!! I can even smell it in the air towards the end of the bottle/decant. This one was no different. Why do they ALL have that plastic smell?! What method of perfume making produces this plastic smell in every single one of their offerings?! I don't get that smelling in similarly priced western brands. And I'm convinced if anyone complimented you on this fragrance they were blackout drunk and/or the bar was closing at 3am and it was 2:55 and they were desperate to get a one night stand out of you and only had 5 minutes to talk you into it. Lol these things are $15 for a reason...they stink. This one was just another disappointment.
This is my first time trying this perfume, I am new to the lattafa trend, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by most of the ones I have tried, this one I bought in a whim not sure what to expect. It’s a lovely bottle and looks great with the collection. I can understand the comparison to alien it’s definitely got a hint of that familiar scent to it, i get a more powdery version, it’s not smelling overly sweet which i like. It’s a little bit of a heavy scent for a day time summer perfume but dressed up, evening perfume definitely. I am not sure it’s one I would buy again but I am glad I have it, it lasts, gets compliments just a little bit heavy on the powdery side for me.
In my opinion this is one of the best unisex perfume. I have finished 3 bottles and have two as back up. This needs a lot of maturing. 6-7 months. The notes are very complex and can be very off putting. But the silage is amazing. This smells fresh, vetiver-y, floral, soft woody, clean in air, like really you can track down the person if one follows the scent trail. It’s amazing. It needs patience that’s all. Me and my husband both rock this one. I layer it with white florals so it’s amazing
This one almost turned me off from blind buying ME perfumes. I love the bottle so much, but the juice inside is the worst I've ever smelled. To my nose, it smells like tires and berries drenched in gasoline. Not a safe blind buy.
Came back two years later after trying many an Arabic scent. It does not dupe anything. And it’s hideous. The worst Arabic scent I ever bought. Plain and simple. Yes I let it macerate etc. it smelled like chemicals gas just too much. People trying to justify this?? Are lying 🤥
Nope!!! But it was a yes for me when the first time i smelled it to the paper! And at the night time i tried to use it before sleeping i use around a 6-8 spray! The first impression is ok! But after it get dry just after 20-30second! I am smelling a floral bathroom scent! And it reminds me of grandmas perfume!! Not even unisex!
