I saw a few reviews saying they couldn't pick up the matcha in this, and I agree it's hard to detect at first. I mostly pick up on the fig and wood at the beginning which does overpower everything else, but I find that changes the more it dries down. Matcha to me smells like creamy grass, and that's exactly how I would describe the dry down of this. Very pleasant. Very pleasant indeed.

I'm a guy, and I do like to wear sweet, floral, and/or creamy fragrances fairly often. Tea Matcha 26 leans a bit feminine, but the tea note gives it enough bite that makes it work for me. The thing is, I don't really get matcha from this scent - what I do get is creamy fig with a subtle sharp tea note behind it. I love fig fragrances, so it worked instantly for me. Just don't expect a realistic matcha here. I get an easy 6+ hours on my skin with good projection. On clothes, it will still softly project into the next day. I like to layer with Philosykos sometimes or with Figuier Noir!

Matcha, where? Not a bad scent. More woody than anything. Absolutely no matcha though, which makes the name confusing.

Анонім★★★★★

It is a soft, elegant skin scent rather than a literal matcha fragrance. Creamy fig, vetiver, cedar, and musk create a subtle blend that feels woody, slightly milky, and effortlessly refined. Its minimalist character is beautiful but understated, with moderate projection and a calm, intimate presence. Perfect for everyday wear, especially when you want something clean and sophisticated. Layer it with BDK Gris Charnel for a warmer, more sensual interpretation. Gris Charnel adds cardamom, fig, black tea, iris, sandalwood, and vanilla, bringing more depth and creaminess while complementing Thé Matcha 26’s green, musky freshness.

i got a sample of this because i've heard good things about it and also because i'm a really big matcha fan so i thought i'd like this but on me, it smelt really weird...?? not sure how to describe it since i dont have it anymore but it was just sharp and citrusy? it leans a bit more masculine, which i dont mind at all but i didnt like how it didnt smell more matcha so i ended up giving it to my boyfriend instead. it actually smelt really good on him so i guess it just didnt suit me

I tried this because I have seen numerous comparisons to Glossier Doux in my search for a longer-lasting 'dupe' of Doux. I smell nothing similar. It's overwhelmingly citrus-y in the opening. It smells like the kind of soap they have in the shower at fancy hotels. It then becomes very faint very quickly. It gets better in the drydown, but doesn't come close to any of my favorite fragrances.

Like the mix of two bottles I have - Diptyque’s Philosykos and Hermes’ Citron Noir. Refresh, Miky, fruity at the same time.

First of all there’s no matcha at all in here. That being said the opening is bitter, green herbal. Fig leaves and orange and thats about it. It dries down quickly to vetiver and remains close to the skin. It smells ok, leaning a bit masculine for me but disappointing as I smell no matcha. At this price point I would expect at least the fragrance of a single cultivar Yabukita matcha

Tried it in store, the initial spritz was alright, an interestingly creamy (almost cloying) fruity top that the hint of orange doesn't quite manage to lighten. The matcha emerges very quickly, and it's reminiscent of an instant matcha with WAY too much condensed milk in it, so instead of being refreshing or comforting, it's a sticky, cloying and full-bodied. This cloying backbone doesn't abate in the drydown, with a earthiness that hits the back of your throat like a desert with way too much beans in it. What I most associate with it: an overly sweet matcha latte made with instant matcha mix, with way too much condensed milk and syrupy azuki beans in it. If that sounds good to you, you'll love it. If you're like me and prefer scents with a bit more space and air, or if you prefer refreshing scents, I would strongly suggest trying it out in store first.

Le Labo's 'Thé Matcha 26' just isn't it for me, AT ALL. But I should've know better since I don't like green, earthy scents. I was expecting a sweet matcha scent, but to my nose it's very bitter and repulsive, and dare I say doesn't really smell like matcha. It smells like grassy soil and funky wood, and it's a fresh scent but in a 'green' way.

Smells nice and clean but It has an unrefined quality to it, in the same way someone dressed as a hippie would seem out of place among a crowd with elegant, cultivated taste. The contrast isn’t about worth; it’s about refinement, and the impression it creates. The whole brand feels off to me. From the gimmicky “we’ll mix your fragrance on the spot while you wait” concept, to the underwhelming packaging, to the premium prices—they’ve never struck me as particularly refined or compelling.

it is not just a matcha perfume at all, maybe matcha is the least ingredient. But, it is green, fresh, a little but a little bit sweet, creamy and calming, soapy clean. I like to wear it in this hot summer days in Türkiye. I think it is not gonna trigger my migraine, I will see. I love it.

Another one of my favorites. A friend recommended layering it with Le Labo Another 13 or Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume. I think by itself or with either of those was very nice. Good for daytime/office in the spring/summer.

Анонім★★★★★

Thought it would be for spring but to my surprise I prefer this scent on a hot summer day. Citrus at the start is perhaps too sweet for me and not at all refreshing. When the weather is colder that citrus lingers for wayyy too long. After the citrus, in comes a soft, creamy yet green, calming and clean scent that is very delightful. The sun and the heat just get me to my favourite part quicker.

I couldn't smell it. Very weak for my nose.

Анонім★★★★★

a smoothly sweet, woody, and almost sparkly green herbal scent. upon first spray, the bitter orange is present. more reminiscent of thai green tea than of matcha. becomes vanillic with a creamier quality upon dry down.

Анонім★★★★★

Beautiful green scent. I don’t get the projection from this that others seem to, but still a delightful fragrance.

the matcha 26 for me evokes an interior, not a person. an impeccable one with dark green walls and luxurious natural materials. a person wearing this is working in that interior, but the main focus stays on the room.

Анонім★★★★★

Warm, spicy cinnamon and dusty matcha! The vetiver/musk combo gives it a sparkly effervescence. Not much progression, but a really nice daily driver that’s easy to wear. There is definitely a whiskey note not listed!

Why does every Le Labo scent (except another 13) kind of smell like pickles???

Анонім★★★★★

I avoided The Matcha initially because it was labeled a "skin scent". I don't know who is smoking what but I love the bubble this long lasting fragrance creates. I expect performance for the money and this fragrance does not disappoint. I get compliments every time I wear it, and coworkers perk up to the point I avoid wearing it because I get embarrassed by the attention. This is a fantastic fragrance by Le Labo, on par with Santal 33 and Another 13.

Анонім★★★★★

i like the scent itself but it doesn’t feel like something i would want to wear. this feels like it should be kept as a candle. that said i wouldn’t mind it on someone else. i think that mostly comes from the sharpness of the orange because it does settle down nicely

Анонім★★★★★

I’m not sure how much the matcha outwardly performs, but it’s there. It’s such a refreshing and uplifting fragrance. I love wearing it whenever I want to get out of my own head. It’s definitely a unisex perfume, but as a woman, I will wear this confidently. It’s a fragrance I wear when I want to feel refreshed and grounded.

Анонім★★★★★

The tea scent is strong, but very pleasant, although it does die in about an hour. Has that distinctive Le Labo DNA for sure. While not as distinctive as the tea, you can definitely smell the wood and citrus as well. I live near San Francisco, and this smells like an overpriced hippy boutique in the best way. I would wear it, but I absolutely would not pay hundreds of dollars for the bottle.

Анонім★★★★★

Green fig top notes, more fresh and less milky compared with Diptyque's philosykos. Didn't test the middle and base notes tho, but top notes feel right for me.

Анонім★★★★★

The name is a bit misleading honestly. It does have hints of matcha powder but it's first and foremost a gorgeous fig scent. The best offering form Le Labo in my opinion, super comforting soothing fig that is quite long lasting.

Анонім★★★★★

I got to know about Le labo with The Noir, but ended up settling with The Matcha. I already used a bottle, and it's my spring-summer season favorite. The matcha note isn't that significant(it does exist though), but it doesn't really matter because the other notes are so good. The opening is very fresh and creamy fig(which lasts until the drydown) with a little hint of oranges(fades very quickly) over the underlying Matcha notes. The drydown is pretty much simillar with the opening, but the woody notes(with a bit of earthy notes) get stronger and stronger. It somehow smells like fig leaves. Its totally artistic, makes me think of a young warrior with years of training, drinking matcha and meditating deep inside the forest filled with fig trees.

The matte version of Dioriviera. Especially in the top notes, I could smell more of fig than matcha.
