Paula's Ibiza

It was ok on paper but on my skin this is green + marine, absolutly nothing else. I do like green but on me this is way too sharp, there is only galbanum (and one that do not wash). This is why they say always test before :)

Why do I only smell coconut with this?? It’s pretty good though it’s a watery, aquatic coconut (and this is coming from someone who does not like regular coconut in frags). It’s Beachy and summery. Not my usual market for fragrances but I like it and I’ll wear it more. Just fyi if you spray on clothes it comes out more “green,” on skin it’s a creamier scent

Paula's Ibiza... the name alone had me intrigued... who is Paula? And what was happening in Ibiza....? The bottle alone has me entranced... and let's spend a moment enjoying the container too.... mermaids ! All these questions led me to a fascinating article in Vogue Magazine... Paula's was a clothing/music collab store around in the 1970s... Loewe, the Paula's founder and the perfumer then created this incredible scent...a scent that permeates the imagination with the gentle vibe of a beautiful, lush, Spanish island. You need to wear this on the skin....warm skin.....to really get the fabulousness, its green... like a freshly cut jungle by the sea...fresh... this is green beachy not coconuts....and I love it.... I don't think I've ever smelt anything quite like this it's like wearing your own private Mediterranean sea garden.... but you need to be very warm to wear this... to enjoy it's full juice. Sadly discontinued in the UK but a few perfumeries in the Spanish islands and main land have a few left for the sea voyager in you.

This is way greener in scent than the notes let on. Someone else commented that they get fig from this and when I sprayed it I thought exactly the same. So much do I have gone back to double check the notes. It’s giving philosykos vibes to me. This is a summery scent for those who don’t like coconut as while the note is listed it’s not the typical coconut scent I’d say green coconut akin to water vibes rather than milk/sunscreen. The scent is fining cool breeze and fresh vibes. Lovely!

So far this is the only Loewe scent I love, even amongst their expensive exclusives. I don’t dislike them, most smell good, they just have this kind of nondescript, pleasant, vaguely shower fresh vibe. They smell like what young Europeans from nice families who don’t really care about scent would smell like on a (tame) night out. Who would have thought that bitter galbanum would be the magic ingredient that elevates coconut from cheap and cloying to interesting and mysterious? It’s euphoric and giddy and feels like the first two days of a tropical beach vacation. Way better than the two flankers, and as usual, they flankers probably sell better. Can anyone else confirm if it’s really getting discontinued? Please let me know. I’m not sure if we can believe the word of one employee.

It is being discontinued unfortunately, confirmed last weekend by a saleswoman in Barcelona : 100ml bottle is no longer available on Loewe's own website and in most shops. One of the most if not the most gorgeous and artistic fragrance from Loewe. Very unusual coconut, green, salty and flowery fragrance with a solid patchouli backbone. Dry, warm and airy at the same time. Not for everyone and not a blind buy as this is not a mainstream fragrance at all. Sold as a women's fragrance but perfectly unisex. The perfect beach scent. Excellent longevity and adequate projection. Fully agree with previous comment stating "Don't bother with Eclectic and Cosmic, the original Paula is the best." If you love it as much as I do, go secure a backup bottle before it is completely gone.

Palm tree in a bottle. I always appreciate “beachy” scents that don’t smell like a van full of Jimmy Buffet diehards. Paula’s Ibiza conjures not only the flesh of coconuts, but also their hairy gnarled shells. Pleasantly bitter without smelling like getting attacked by a plant. Definitely worth a sniff if you want something tropical yet still somewhat thick. Personally I find myself mostly neutral to it. I don’t hate it, but nothing here particularly speaks to me. The wife seems to forget she owns it though, so I’ll give it a few more wears.

Fantastically picturesque. I am so happy to find the scent of my favorite place in the tropical greenhouse of the botanical garden. Green, warm, humid, earthy and at the same time fresh and not stuffy. And in such a beautiful package. It also smells of wet stones and sand. There is a light note of fresh clean sweat, or rather perspiration, which appears on the skin in a moist and warm environment. I do not find anything funky or indecent here.

It's much better than its flankers. Don't bother with Eclectic and Cosmic, the originial Paula is the best. Its longevity and performance are really good considering the fact that it's just an EDT. First it's green, tropical, a bit sharp, it reminds me of Calyx by Clinique. Then comes the coconut and some solar floral notes with a hint of woodyness. It's just uplifting and bright and airy. Gorgeous choice for summer!

One of my absolute favorite fragrances for summer . I get incredible performance from this , long lasting with good projection. Fresh and faintly bitter green with tropical florals

It's such a different fragrance... I love galbanum and I usually don't like coconut or frangipani (let alone both together) because they get too intense and cloying on my skin. So it was a bit risky to try this one, and there were moments when I was already waiting for the "sweetness" to take over and it would turn into a scrubber. And it did not! This is a saving grace for those skins that amplify sweetness, who could never wear frangipani and coconut without having a headache a few hours later... And the saltiness of the driftwood is not too much and it's keeping everything in place.... I can't stop snffing my hand, this is delicious - a mermaid perfume!!! Plus it's early winter and this scent was a burst of joy in a very cold rainy day - I am in love!

Very musty, green fragrance. No sweetness to this. Not your typical summer scent, as I can not detect a hint of the coconut, fragipani or vanilla. This doesn't not give me Ibiza at all! This is more a dirty English seaside on a cold, rainy day - opposed to a tropical beach scent. Its more Brighton than Ibiza. I can't get over the greenness, smells like I've buried my nose in grass, dirt and hay. Not a fan.

I had high hopes but boy... this is one of the worst and weird fragrances I ever came across. All I smell is musty wood, water and an unripe coconut. Nothing fresh, floral and I don't even smell the patchouli. Only something dull that makes my stomach turn. I really don't get some peoples praise here.

You'd definitely want to have a bottle of this in your bag during a stroll on the streets of old town Ibiza. While it opens sweet, it's also fruity and very suitable for the beach. I guess it also depends on skin chemistry, but at least on mine I don't get that "sweaty" element. It leans slightly feminine but I think it still stays in that safe unisex area that will not take away anyone's masculinity. I do find it a bit expensive for what it offers because you can definitely get this scent profile and performance in other more affordable fragrances.

Have to say that overall it is a disappointment. I agree that the scent is interesting and good quality. It is something between blue and green scent. For me it would help if there was more coconut. ALso presentation is nice. Biggest drawback is the weaker longevity. You can't expect more than 3-4 hours. It is just a very close to skin scent. I like this concept of an interesting tropical scents but it can be done better and more potently. I rate this as 4,5/10.

Very complex, unusual tropical scent. Very niche-smelling, refreshing, green, and also a bit bitter due to the galbanum. Can't smell any coconut in this at all, it's just very green, herbal, fresh, like the sun shining in a rainforest after a heavy storm.

Beautiful, tropical summer scent that is a bit more mature to me than most other perfumes in this same genre, if you get what I mean. Big like.

People who ONLY wear certain perfumes for ONLY certain occasions are weird. If it smells good, it smells good anywhere and anytime. This smells good in the office, on a date, or at the damn beach.

Smells the way nasturtiums taste, predominantly a, not spicy but perhaps bitter, green floral fragrance, not a big fan, not highly recommended.

it's a nice concentrated fragrance, Not intense, it's moderate projection. Feels clean and elegant. Personally I can feel citrus like green lemon in a very elegant way (not mandarine as it's stated on fragrantica list), you feel the coconut not as a first note but like a companion to the citrus. I can defo feel green notes and woody. I would use it to feel good during the day at office, shopping, day outs, events. It's versatile.

Extremely underated summer beach perfume perfect for beach raves, drinks on the beach. Shorts and sandals only. Very casual cologne that smells great and won't offend anyone. Unique and fresh.

It really reminds me of some other fragrance from my childhood. I probably had a bottle of that was I was younger. Wish by Chopard maybe? I don’t remember the scent, but it might be this one. Overall, there are some nice creamy notes mixed with flowers, woods and some sweetness.

I don't like this fragrance and after multiple tries I wish I would appreciate it. Don't let the notes mislead you as this is not really what you could expect. To my nose this is a very GREEN fragrance, a spring one. I don't get any tropical vibes in this. I'm also quite annoyed by a note in this and I believe it's the galbanum. Even galbanum is listed as a top note, it remains through the entire life of the fragrance, again to my nose. Because of this, it creates nose fatigue. I was really expecting something more fun. Try before you buy.

Por desgracia tengo una descripción un poco vaga del perfume por que no me paré a analizarlo. Al olerlo pensé rapidamente en aguas estancadas, como un pantano quieto lleno de musgo y vegetacion en el fondo, con renacuajos flotando. No me agradó para nada. Me huele a podrido.

Paula's Ibiza takes you on a journey from where you left your car, walking through the trees to reach the beach, even if you can't enter the water. For those around you, it offers a fresh, citrus fragrance that is simply enchanting.

Aquatic, tropical, floral, bitter, green, salty, coconut, citrus, wood. I suppose the green is galbanum. There's a saltiness but not a robust ambergris profile. Can't pin down the vanilla (though there is a slight sweetness) nor patchouli. Moderate longevity, close sillage. Need the heat for this to shine. It's fresh. Compared to another driftwood aquatic, floral, green fragrance (Olympic Orchids Kingston Ferry) Ibiza is cleaner and more tropical. A test vial is enough for me, though this is a beautiful fragrance!

This is better executed ADP Fico di Amalfi. Coconut in the opening and the blend just feels better made and less annoying. I like FdA, but I swapped it for this one. It also has beautiful presentation and bottle design.

Huele a tienda hippy en pleno verano.... Ni playa, ni bronceador, ni paisajes idílicos, con frescos y estivales matices paradisíacos. Es una fragancia del tipo chipre, pesada, densa, acuerada, oscura y especiada con inciensos y ahumados, que no recuerda a ningún verano que no sea el del que pasóste de joven en un maloliente y húmedo, acampando caluroso. Esto, recuerda a Ibiza en el momento de dar un paseo situándote, a la entrada de la tienda de artículos hippie llamada ; Paula's Ibiza que hay en la isla, mezclándose los aromas de la isla con los aromas que se sienten dentro de esta tienda. Además, es necesario hablar de todo lo que rodea a los aromas hippies y de lo que se fumaban en la época, porque esos matices de aroma a ilegal, están presentes en esta fragancia. Para quien no haya estado en la tienda de Paula's Ibiza, puede imaginarse, que se ha montado un mercadillo medieval en su ciudad y le vienen los aromas de inciensos y especias junto a aromas de artículos de cuero, figuritas de maderas talladas, abalorios y manualidades artesanales, etc. Las notas declaradas son en definitiva, las materias usadas para conseguir este ambiente y aún estando tan bien logrado y siendo una fragancia Chipre de gran calidad,. Hay mucha gente, que no ve más allá del nombre IBIZA y Verano, imaginandose un agua de jardín fresco y acuático, junto a aromas isleños y de coco playero caramelizado, de esos para ligar en la discoteca. Nada más lejos de la imaginación, esto huele a mercadillo ya los años 70 cuando se abusaba del pachuli, en las salidas nocturnas de los hippies, que se colocaban con todo lo que se podía fumar. Recomendable para gente "madura" con el paso de la tendencia hippy. También es recomendable para los jóvenes de hoy apasionados por los aromas de cannabis en las fragancias. Loewe aquí, ha hecho una fragancia a medida, de muy buena calidad y aunque diferente y ecléctica, responde perfectamente a los aromas que se perciben, en la tienda Paula's Ibiza y en el ambiente natural del mundo hippie 🤷 Personalmente creo que era necesaria esta reseña , después de tanta descripción de notas dominantes, al uso. Y más aún, cuando esas descripciones de materias del mundo, solo sirven para hacer creer en ingredientes mágico-exóticos-carisimos-lujosos de marketing ficticio y fantástico. Un saludo 🎉
