Iris Malikhân

It’s extremely rooty. It’s dense, earthy, and focused on the raw iris root rather than anything powdery or floral. It leans heavy and textured, almost rugged, with that deep character dominating the whole wear.

Just got my 2ml sample and am testing it out for the first time. Early on, it's sweet, creamy, powdery and woody, but balanced. It's giving a distinct, crisp "new bill" note from the sharp contrast of dry, green galbanum mixed with leather and woody notes. The colder, green elements meet the warm, powdery iris and sweet vanilla base to create a high-end, starchy, cosmetic-meets-currency vibe. No baby powder here; it is definitely a powdery orris/iris fragrance and has that cosmetic quality, but it's all grown up. As it settles, the green note fades, the iris mellows, and vanilla and spices take over in the drydown. Totally unisex, this is the sort of good smell I would like on anyone. It has cold-weather, cozy-sweater yumminess potential for sure. Very pleasant and complex. I will definitely revisit this one in October.

Can't stress how much i love this fragrance. Iris and leather are very prominent here. Out of all the Crivelli EDPs it has the best longevity and projection, the only negative thing i could say is that it dries down to a pretty generic amber-vanilla.

loved the earthy grassy opening, but in the drydown i started getting that amberwood that gets used in so many 'vanillas' and for some reason i just cannot detect apart from getting a cough-inducing cloud of smoke.

This is a unique fragrance, love everything about it. It’s my first Iris fragrance, and I am spellbound. Wear it all the time, work, night to sleep & o can smell if on the pjs in the morning, love that.

No, not for me. Headache inducing, sharp, mature aftershave (?), metallic.

Take Chanel’s Coromandel and add a type 2 diabetes-level causing amount of white chocolate on top of the iris and there you have it ! A Creamy iris. Not the sterile glassy iris that hermes offers. It is a very comforting fragrance for sure and has a certain genre of sweetness that even die-hard sweetness avoiders like myself can enjoy. Just a comforting well made iris

God, I've had quite the journey with this fragrance. I'm always on the lookout for iris fragrances. They're my fucking FAVORITE. This was my dream fragrance. I'd taken so many trips to the mall with this fragrance in mind. Just to spray it on me. Just to make sure I wanted it. It's this beautiful powdery iris. Beautiful. However, as soon as I purchased a bottle and wore it out a couple of times, I realized it would turn so sour on me. So sour. There was this note that was almost like pennies. The first hour of wearing it was amazing, but then it just turned into black currant and pennies. I'm so deadass. I thought to myself, "okay, maybe I need to let this macerate." So, I let it macerate for half a year. Sprayed it on me and it was still the same. I was so disappointed. SO DISAPPOINTED. I had to trade it. If you're someone like me who cares a lot about skin chemistry, then I'd suggest really wearing this before buying it. It might've been my skin or my nose or maybe it was the fragrance. I really wanted to love this.

This perfume feels like someone wrapping their arms around you after a long day. Warm skin, spicy vanilla, wood, leather… and complete silence. Not because there’s nothing to say, but because they already understand you. They read your mind before you open your mouth. Their scent takes over everything around you, and honestly, you don’t want it to leave. The next day it’s still there, and it feels like home.

I love iris but this is incredibly dense and cloying. Reminds me also of preservatives.

I enjoy this, but it’s not a stand-out iris/orris perfume to me. If I want a dry and chalky orris, I go to imaginary author’s O unknown. If I want a buttery iris, I go for DHP (old batch). This kind is sits in the middle, but lacks what I enjoy about the others. I enjoy it, but it doesn’t fit in my collection

Extremely similar to velvet iris by essential parfums. Velvet iris is more on the leather side while iris malikhan has a vanillic undertone. Both are super close tho, I prefer iris malikhan because the leather is less obvious and I hate leather

90% identical to Tauer Pentachord White (which is now long discontinued so who cares?). It’s equal parts “orris”, cedar, vanilla, and galbanum with a big, long-lasting woody amber that is tolerable when sprayed very lightly. The galbanum imparts a green bell pepper note to the mix and highlights the vegetable nuances of the orris. Like the Tauer, it’s a white-noise composition that conveys a lush crackling fuzzy texture in a linear fashion as opposed to anything resembling classical structure and evolution of notes. Overall it’s not bad, even for me who typically dislikes this kind of take on iris. There is something pleasant about the combination of notes, albeit also harsh. And the late drydown, as it becomes a skin scent, is actually very nice…probably the best part. 3 out of 5.

Beautiful buttery iris from the orris butter..the black currant syrup, mastic & vanilla combine to give a dry resinous sweetness lightly kissed by Amber with a slight spice from the cinnamon... you also get facets of green from the galbanum coriander/cilantro seeds & the cypress beautifully blended & balanced & lastly keeping everything firmly grounded is this leather/suede accord...Complex yet beautiful composition by the perfumer...... by the way Here's one of my most guarded Gem Spring/Summer layering combos & thank me later ... this very fragrance as a base & MFK Amyris Homme as the top layer...(YOUR WELCOME)

To me, this is all about iris root. On skin 👍 it leans green with a slight bitter edge, which I really enjoy. It feels quite masculine overall, and honestly I think it might be a bit challenging for some women to wear. The leather note comes through pretty clearly and gives it a refined, slightly rugged vibe. Best for cooler weather or chilly days.

My new favorite frag for bedtime. Post shower scent, clean and powdery with a green vanilla touch. The cold of the iris and warmth of the amber coexist very well here. Dries down green and soft, very relaxing as I’ve sort of pavloved myself with this scent as part of my nightly routine lol. I’m finally satisfied with my hunt for the perfect iris.

My expectations for this perfume house are quite low in the sense that I have not really liked anything from them and think they are extremely overpriced for what you get (like countless brands on the market at the moment). Galbanum is one of my favorite materials and love the green and acidic smell it has and what it does to a composition or even just on its own. It feels playful and joyous. Here, it opens with a strong green galbanum and sweet vanilla which is a very interesting combination and not one you see often. That I can admit is quite nice. After that, it kind of just runs flat and stays like that for the rest of the wear. Wish there was more to it as listed. Mimosa, Leather, Black Currant, and Cinnamon are all missing to my nose.

Piercing cedar and dry, powdery, floury iris. Zero sweetness and a bitter brightness. I'm glad this one wasn't as strong as the other Maison Crivelli frags I've sampled, because I did not like it.

I had such a ride with this fragrance. When I sprayed it on the tester strip, I immediately had a no way reaction and i was sad. It was so green and vegetal, which surprised me based on the reviews saying this is a great iris/vanilla. I tried on my skin because I had heard that is where the magic happens with this and that could not be more accurate. About five to ten minutes in, that initial vegetal blast wears off and I am left with a creamy iris vanilla that is grounded in some light suede and a very light touch of green. It becomes a completely different smell once it hits my skin. It is so unique. I ended up buying a 100ml off of mercari. This is not similar to the architects club, but the level of sweetness/vanilla is on par in my opinion.

opens with a beautifulll buttery iris, but a few hours in my wrist smells like a doll's head -- soft plastic, very sweet vanilla and white chocolate, a light dusting of powder. I understand some people like that profile, but I don't have nostalgia for it and I've never been a gourmand girlie. far too sweet for my liking and makes me feel a bit nauseous! I also got this charred pineapple smell near the beginning? something warping the green notes or the mastic I think... not for me!!

Starts off quite powdery / lipsticky! After about 2 hours, the vanilla, leather, and pink pepper start to shine through, turning this into a more masculine scent. Really lovely.

Best iris I have ever come across. Hands down. The upscale and niche version of Dior Homme Intense. Smells like straight up money and success to me. Not in a shouty way but just understated refinement and opulence. Great value for money in my opinion. Yes it’s a little expensive but still it smells like it costs 3 times as much. Unbelievable fragrance. Pure class

Fascinating fragrance. Powdery iris and leather are two of the most difficult notes for me, but I love this. The opening is beautifully bright and sunny, with the cypress and galbanum combining to create a distinct gin note before the more comforting base wraps its arms around you. Beautiful day-to-night, year-round, very unique fragrance. Intimate-to-moderate sillage, mild to moderate longevity on my skin (in humid, fairly warm weather).

Elegant iris that develops fascinatingly from a slightly sweet but earthy opening, with that leather note quite clear to me, but never overwhelming, and then faint spicy hint before the sweetness then develops more prominently, but never cloying. Extremely well balanced from opening to drydown on my skin, so much so I can wear it even in the heat. I have a feeling the leather note holds everything together for me.

A beautiful sweet vanilla iris set in a bed of earthy spices. Elegant, simple and refined. Excellent projection. I liked it a lot.

This is my second review of Iris Malikhan because I've warmed up a lot to it. Normally I don't like powdery and orris/iris perfumes. Yes, it still starts dusty, dry, and bittersweet. But after about an hour the dustiness and bitterness is gone and Iris Malikhan transforms into a warm, powdery iris and vanilla. Still the driest perfume I own but it is a comforting smell somehow. Sweet but not like sugar or honey. It's also earthy with a hint of spices. Recommend it for the cold half of the year.

To me this does not come across as a powdery, velvety iris, as most iris fragrances tend to be, but a more sweet, round and resinous iris. I get quite a bit of sweetness, which I didn't expect from the notes and accords listed here. It is also perfectly unisex.

29/100 so dry and lifeless. it’s barely sweet but mostly spice, powdery makeup-y and boring.
