Nose Note #1174 I love that it's centered around a spicy citrus + cypress accord. Wonderfully old-fashioned. Just beautiful. Like something forgotten from the 90s. Something like DG Masculine, but much spicier and much stronger. Otherwise, hard to compare it to something. It's not a "one of a kind" fragrance. Doesn't actually stand out amongst the plethora of scents that much. Imagine Terre d'Hermes, but a little more old fashioned, very spicy and heavy in other ways. Or Fendi Life Essence, but a lot more masculine. Or Givenchy Xeryus Rouge, but with more emphasis on citrus. Great performance, as always with Mancera. Great value for money. I'm delighted. 8.3/10
Saharian Wind is smooth, masculine & well blended. Woody, spice and slightly sweet at times with decent projection. This scent develops beautifuly as most of the Mancera products do, keeping it from being a boring linear scent. Think I need a FB of this one!
Saharian wind mancera and other discontinued from other houses available. selling oil concentrate from £5-£20 Ruhalinouds.com DM me on insta Ruhalinouds
I can't say that there has been a Mancera fragrance that I have disliked so far. Some are a bit more pedestrian than others but, all have been good quality. This one definitely has a sweet, spicy, clean character to it that is both invigorating and calming. All I can think of is floral scented sheets drying outside when a sandstorm begins to kick up and blow dusty hot air through them leaving the sand behind like a cigarette filter. This is super unique and probably one of Mancera's more slept on fragrances (as others have mentioned). Blessed to have it in my collection.
Great woody soapy scent, unique and amazing
This is definitely one of the best Mancera fragrances. It’s softer and fresher than you might expect. Except for hot summer days, just a few sprays are all it takes to work wonders. 8,5/10
Mancera Saharian Wind – First Impressions Damn good choice for a man! Ofcourse the opening is the sweetest and spiciest part of the journey. Like many Manceras, that opening isn’t what you’re left with. Once it settled, it transformed into something much drier and woodier. I asked my wife what she thought. She couldn’t identify what it smelled like at all. After thinking for a second she finally said, “It smells expensive.” I laughed and said, “Too late—I already bought it.” Thankfully, she liked it. Not for herself, but definitely on me. My first impression after the dry down was woods. At moments I even wondered if I was picking up some oud. It felt like layers of different woods working together, which really caught me off guard. I’d put Saharian Wind in the same genre as Eternal Wood or Oud for Glory—not because they smell alike, but because they give me the same overall masculine vibe. I think of fragrances the way I think of music. A country song and a metal song don’t sound the same, but each belongs to its own genre. That’s how I classify scents too. To me, Saharian Wind leans even more masculine than Eternal Wood. My wife agreed—she immediately said there was no way she’d try to wear this one herself. I can also understand why they named it Saharian Wind. It paints a picture. As a tourist walking through the desert, you might imagine catching traces of camel saddles, horses, dry vegetation, weathered wood, leather, dust, and whatever else the wind carries. Whether that’s exactly what’s in the bottle or not, that’s the image it creates for me. I think Mancera did a great job capturing that atmosphere. Performance is exactly what I’d expect from a Mancera built around heavier woody materials—strong, long-lasting, and confident. I even catch what might be a touch of leather, though I’m not ready to swear that’s an actual note. Right now it smells like a very well-balanced composition where no single note jumps out and says, “Here I am.” I love how that lavender is balanced in all this .. I don’t want to say mess. As a man, this is one of the few fragrances in the Mancera lineup that immediately stands out to me. It’s distinctive, masculine, and unlike anything else in my collection.
This is a masterpiece. This smells like fresh sheets blowing in the dessert wind. Fresh, yet masculine. Very addictive scent.
its a 6.5/10 for me, its not a bad smell by any means, its just a bit overwhelming, definitely reduce the amount of sprays to save yourself and other people, the projection is too good and the dry down is what makes it really good for me really smoky and a touch of sweetness that smooths it out, its just the initial 20 minutes is pure shit, smells like a 70 year old man who hasn't showered in 2 weeks and is described from friends as medicinal (which I dont get but I still think the opening is wank), not blind buy safe at all
this is such a good and unique fragrance. everytime i smell it imagine sitting at a breezy beach, in the spring or summer in 75-80 degree weather lol. i’d say get it if you’re on the fence
Layer it with oud Maracuja and thank me later.. 25% SW then 25% Maracuja and then 50% SW of whatever the number of sprays you apply.. You're welcome!!
Nobody talks about this one hidden gem 💎 gate keeping this so you can smell like nobody else 😁🔥💣 strong beast for winter ,fall 💯
First of all, WOW! This is great. It's a Mancera underrated hidden gem. What I get the most are Spices, Cypress, Woods, Lavender, Amber, Lily-of-the-Valley and some Leather. It's an aromatic, spicy, flowery, woody fragrance. It's gorgeous and it has nuclear performances. Some say it is somewhat similar to African Leather. No resemblance whatsoever. Maybe 3% similar but this is a totally different fragrance. Just because they have 2-3 common notes it doesn't mean that they're similar.
Challenging one for me to pull off unfortunately. For reference I am a younger white male and the fragrance seems to be a little too occasional for me to reach for frequently. I like the smell but I feel like it doesn't suit my character well if you know what I mean.
Honestly this is becoming one of my favorites from the house, and I prefer it to Sand Aoud which I already own. They are both different in their own way but in the same family. Spiced leather with lovely woods, lavender and herbs. It's both fresh and dark simultaneously. Patchouli, tobacco and vanilla (not too sweet) round it off. This is NOT for everyone, it took me around 3 wears to really enjoy this, and the dry down is chef's kiss. Weirdly enough although I won't consider this a versatile scent, it has versatile application in that you could wear it day or night and all seasons except for summer. I'm definitely going to be on the look out for it if I can find a bottle reasonably priced.
TF’s White Patchouli, with a more refined twist.
Really good, but not what I was expecting. It smells like smooth and sweet gummies to me Edit: not even close to zoologist camel, which is why I chose to sample this. But very good nonetheless.
This one's pretty good. No turpentine, varnish, antiseptic, nail polish remover, permanent marker, or sticky sweet piercing aroma goo. No resemblance to a glade plug-in or bathroom spray. I really like the opening and mid. The bottom is a safe fluffy woody floral musk. Not overbearing at all for me. I'm left wanting to smell more of it. For a mancera, that feeling is a treat. Grading on the Mancera curve this is up there. Imagine mancera venn diagrams and see the curve go up and down for a giggle.
This is no longer listed on Mancera’s website 😞
All what this smell is: About 65% dry green herbs (refreshing not warm, almost like dried ginger) 20% citrus 10% spices 5% floral In short you will almost only smell dry green refreshing herbs and citrus, its not bad but it is not what the notes and reviews have you believe
The opening is incredible and settles into a clean sweet woods. It’s nothing special and super easy to wear! Stop by my TikTok for some fragrance content: nerolicannoli
I had recently blind bought this fragrance, and its even better than I expected. Unlike other leather fragrances, its much smoother and easy to wear. It's brightened with the addition of pepper and citrus in the top. Later, it dries down into a more aromatic leather, where you get a hint of cypress, lavender and patchouli base. Overall, an extremely well rounded fragrance, and one of the best I've smelled from the Mancera line.
After testing it a bit, I came to the conclusion that this is hands down the best Mancera I've ever tried, and I've tried about 11 of their scents. This one starts with spicy fresh suede with a strong patchouli undertone. The suede can feel dusty and too intense, which is not the best part of this fragrance for me, to be completely honest. The musk, in typical Mancera fashion, is the worst downside, since it is not the ethereal and transparent type. This is a brain-drilling, flavored sweet & sour beast. Fortunately, unlike in Black Gold, musk goes away pretty fast. (another good Mancera fragrance that is nerfed into oblivion by this stinky musk that lingers from the start to the end). After all this terror comes the great part — the duo of cypress and lavender lying down on this beautiful and clean suede, creating an extremely clean and sophisticated scent. This starts smelling luxurious, chill, and steamy. Imagine coming out of an expensive spa radiating the steaming smell of fresh herbs. As you could guess I'm not the biggest Mancera lover, and I'm not here to glaze. However I must acknowledge that Saharian Wind is a great scent. My only wish is to skip this nasty ahh opening or at least swap out or remove this musk altogether.
This is definitely one of the easiest to wear Mancera’s out there. Compared to other Mancera’s it is a lot less potent and feels better blended. It’s also a pretty good value at around $70 for a full-sized bottle. In terms of scent, it definitely has a middle eastern inspiration. It is warm, leathery, and a little bit fresh all at the same time. Performance is a little above average compared to other scents, but definitely below average compared to other Mancera scents. Best occasions for this personally would be formal or dressed up. I also find it to be very office friendly as well. To me this fragrance has an extremely similar scent profile to Bentley for Men Intense. Just a tad bit fresher, and with a slight middle eastern flare. Overall I would rate it 7/10. Solid stuff!
Not so stupid, airy animalistic difficulty. Evokes associations and isn’t that Mancera-like. Oriental in the sense of region, there is air, like a slight camel note, nicer than other scents. Not dumb — all spices well chosen, like Mancera’s competition for Hindu Kush, which also sits in this area. I will continue testing. On the skin it becomes tame and rather indistinct — herbs and stale spices. Needs to be rejected.
This is a great fragrance however, the name would suggest this is to be a spicy oriental fragrance suitable for autumn or winter wear. It’s anything but. It’s a gorgeous fresh fragrance with nuances of woods and bergamot. Tobacco is listed in the notes but I do not pick up tobacco myself. I actually find this a rather fresh fragrance and a very easy one to wear. This is a compliment getter. Suitable for day or night wear. Not an offensive fragrance at all. A 10/10 from the Mancera line!
This is terrible for my nose. Is not growing on me, don’t want to smell it ever again. Willing to trade or sell. 99% full bottle near the DMV area
Tried this the other day at selfridges gorgeous opening but the dry down smells like dettol bandaids not for me.I love Mancera though in general but this is too niche
My initial experience with Saharian Wind was based on a 1ml decant and so I didn't have much of an opportunity to live with it, but that sample was enough to make me realise that I wanted more and so just a few days after first trying it I ordered a full 100ml bottle. Perhaps its name subconsciously swayed me because I detect the smell of sun-baked sand. There's a dry, mellow sweetness to it, mixed with warm spices. I've read reviews that say it's a "barbershop" fragrance and I can see that. Mint isn't listed as a note, but I do get a hint of dusty, warm mint from this. Looking at the notes listed, I suspect that it's actually the spices and pink pepper that I'm perceiving as mint. There is also something else there that I find difficult to pinpoint ... I want to say that there is a very slight ashy smell to it, like fully burnt wood, after the smell of burning has gone completely. "Ashy" has somewhat negative connotations in my mind, but that is definitely not the case here. On my skin, I found it took 10+ hours for the initial stages to transition, so it's certainly linear. Later, I find lavender, suede and white musk coming through, but not enough to overpower that initial dusty, desert sand smell. And, oddly, unlike many people, I do not find much of a leather note. Actually, that's not quite right, I do get leather but somehow it presents more like dry sand to me. With many of the more unusual fragrances I try, I find a difficulty in picturing an occasion when I might wear them, but not so with this. I can see it being perfect for evenings in late summer, when the sun hangs low in the sky and the day's heat is starting to cool. I think it is fine for both relaxed and formal settings. That my wife says that it "smells lovely" is a bonus! Good for relaxed and formal wear. Key thoughts: Highly linear, dusty desert sand, with a mellow sweetness. Overall rating: 9/10 Buy full bottle again: Yes
