Winter Palace

I absolutely love this , that tea note is amazing. The opening to me is lemon and tea 🍋, not really a lemon tea but lemon side by side with the tea note. Dries down to tea and vanilla ,amazing stuff. performance seems solid especially when sprayed on clothes. 9/10 for me really like this . Only downside is the new bottle and packaging, definitely a huge downgrade from the previous two designs.

I was hoping for a tic tac sort of a minty scent. This is a pretty sharp lemon and bergamot scent with a base of mate tea. Smells energizing. Reminds me of a herbal hard candy with a very strong lemon taste, not sour, just like lemon zest, maybe a tiny bit bitter even.

The batchcode on the card is WP19129. I have two sprays from a decant in my elbow. First thing I got was the bergamot. After a few minutes, resinous amber and tea note show themselves. The tea here is not normal tea like wulong cha. instead its quite heavy and bitter like when you soak a dark tea sachet in a cup for awhile and its that thick dark heavy bitter tea. Thats what I get. I can also smell the vanilla a little. Then, the part I dont like happens. All the notes start to combine and give off a slight bug spray kind of smell. In the air, its ambery and vanilla but close up and in my bubble, it smells like bug spray. It seems to stay that way for the most part on my skin too. Performance wise, its got strong projection and good longevity. Overall, this isn't my cup of tea "pun intended". However, it is definitely a different and unique take on tea so if you want a different kind of tea perfume, you should definitely check this out.

I enjoyed it a lot at first, but was so surprised at how the dry down smelled like Viktor & Rolf Flower Bomb to me :(

This is easily the most overrated fragrance ever. It is so bad.If you're from latin America, you might recognize the orange cookie treats called Polvorones Marinela. This smells EXACTLY like that. Kind of has a cereal smell to it. Now, some people may be into that and I understand it's subjective. But what is NOT subjective is how weak this garbage is. It lasts less than 30 mins as a skin scent, and it only project's within arm's length for the first few minutes

Pure Russian tea! It smells exactly how you want it to smell. Like a spicy black tea mulled with citrus and spices. Like walking down a snowy city street in a big fur coat. Not soapy or cologne-y. It's smells very edible. Most things can be decanted but I need a full size of this tbh! It's just perfect and I hope you can try it if you're a black tea perfume lover. And the art is just too wonderful.

God damn this is beautiful! Icy red tea just as described, dries down to smoky vanilla spice and citrus. After a couple of hours it smells a bit like a head shop with lots of incense, which was completely unexpected but really nice.

Turns out I'm not a big fan of the clove note. On the first spray it completely overpowers all the top notes, actually felt nauseous. Didn't get that tea scent I was hoping for at all :(

It’s a very unique fragrance due to the tea and citrus combination. Definitely not blind buy safe, it’s reasonably mass appealing but it can feel a bit strange for some people. As for the quality it’s the classic Memo experience, beautifully blended. It doesn’t project much but lasts long on clothes and skin. 8/10

I blind bought this fragrance, and didnt have no expectations, but I am truly happy that I took the chance. Its a lovely and unique fragrance, it can be worn any season and time imo. I wasnt really impressed in the beginning, but I loved how it dries down to the vanilla and tea on my skin.

My go to perfume on a cold autumn or winter day. A blast of citrus and red tea that fades away into a warm vanilla that melts into your skin.

It smells very unique and strange

Reminds me of Xerjoff Renaissance citrus with a nice orange note to me. Fresh but uniquely spicy which gives it versatility in my opinion. Okay projection for about 3 hours, skin scent for the last 3. Very nice tea and vanilla dry down. Last around 6 hours on my skin. I recommend sampling this, I think the spice could be polarizing. Overall I really enjoy this scent.

Recently purchased this after trying it several years ago, however it's not at all what I remember. When I tried it, I remember it as deeper, more resinous and a more prominent orange + tea note. Now it is a powdery lemon and anaemic tea and vanilla, very different. I can't see anywhere that states it's changed, but remember orange and tolu balsam were previously listed as notes? I'll let it macerate a bit but based on first impressions, after a long time of anticipation to finally own, I am disappointed

Smells like dropping smarties in a public restroom

Tried both paper and on my skin. On paper, it was like an Iced tea, it was smelling sooo refreshing and so cold but on my skin it was warm. But still good. I wish it was smelling icy on my skin too but still an amazing tea fragrance. Memo ate with this. No other comment. My next winter fragrance is gonna be this.

Got the sample and it lasts SO LONG on paper. This is haute couture's offer on tea scents. On both paper and skin, it opens with this refreshing, zesty citrus and slowly dries down to soft spicy & aromatic woody notes. Literally feels like on a winter's day, you are called up by the Heavenly Emperor for an audience with him and his advisors. You're asked to wait in an intimidatingly beautiful ornate drawing room, while his servants serve you a special blend tea you've never tried before as it's blended with one-of-a-kind spices from India and Persia.

Absolutely the most beautiful tea scent I've ever encountered. It's warm, elegant, tasteful, and wraps you like an opulent blanket of scent. Expensive but worth the price. It's unique and I cannot think of a comparable scent. I'll be getting a full bottle to wear all throughout fall and winter.

Checking out Winter Palace from Memo Paris today. Winter Palace is a fresh and spicy scent built around a strong contrast between fire and ice. It is inspired by the hypnotic energy of imperial China and the grandeur of its palaces, blending that rich historical atmosphere with a modern niche fragrance style. So the background info is cool, the frosted bottle is cool, and the dragon on the front is cool, but is the fragrance cool? Let’s find out. Winter Palace opens with a big blast of citrus right away. Lemon and bergamot are very noticeable from the start, giving it this sharp, bright freshness. On top of that you get a touch of clove bringing in a dry spiciness that sits somewhere between cinnamon and nutmeg. There is also a faint vanilla undertone already in the background, just smoothing the edges without making it sweet yet. Giving it about 15 to 20 minutes it starts to open up more. You get this green, slightly bitter herbal quality from the mate, along with the red tea note that becomes more obvious. Orange blossom also comes in here adding a fresh, citrusy, slightly honeyed and lightly soapy feel. After about an hour the vanilla steps forward more clearly and the fragrance starts to feel smoother and rounder. The tea note fades slightly into the background while labdanum brings in an ambery, dry musky depth. Benzoin adds a creamy woody warmth that ties everything together and gives it a soft finish. Winter Palace is really good. It really ends up smelling like a creamy citrusy red tea with vanilla in it. It sounds a bit strange written out like that, but in practice it actually works way better than it sounds. It has this cold, sparkling citrus opening but also a smooth sweet base underneath that makes it very easy to wear. If you like sweet citrus vanilla scents or tea based fragrances, you owe it to yourself to try this one.

By far my favorite fragrance from Memo that I’ve sampled. Citrusy tea warmed by cloves and vanilla, exactly what I hoped it would be. Love it.

Not as remarkable as I would have expected. I could pick the tea note, but it wasn't fresh and uplifting, or earthy as I would have hoped for it to be. As a result, Winter Palace flunked my scent test. Other Memo offerings that came in this round of decants were better...

I have both versions of Winter Palace — the older white bottle with the metal plaque and the newer white bottle with the sticker label — and to my nose, there is a clear difference between them. The old bottle smells noticeably soapier and feels much weaker overall, with performance topping out at around 3 hours on me. The newer bottle is more potent, more citrus-forward in the opening, more bubblegummy/tea-like and gently sweet in the middle, and slightly more floral in the deep drydown. The juice in the new bottle also looks more neutral, while the old one had a slightly amber tone. The packaging has changed too. The newer bottle, cap, and box feel a bit more compact, and there is also a leaflet tucked into a pocket inside the box, which the older one did not have. That said, the old metal-plaque bottle still feels more premium in hand. The sticker bottle is not bad at all — it only feels worse because there is such a direct point of comparison. As for the scent itself, I find Winter Palace very versatile and easy to wear year-round, pretty much any time of day. Still, I personally enjoy it most in lighter daytime summer settings because it remains airy even when it has sweetness. Between the two, I clearly prefer the newer bottle for the stronger performance and more engaging scent development.

On my skin this smells like a lemon smartie, not for me

smells how the dust of frosted flakes cereal tastes, exact comparison that crossed my mind as soon as i smelt it.

It's like how a ball of bubblegum with most of the flavor gone tastes, but it's red tea, spice and lemon flavored

This is beautifully balanced. The red tea with the orange and mate stay with you all the way through. A little kick from the clove, a truly clean bourbon vanilla, and a resinous base swirl together into the creamiest, sexiest cup of tea you’ve ever sipped. And it does this without stepping one toe into the candy (or candle) territory.

I was pretty disappointed. It is so medicinal--it's like imagination (which I like) drenched in thick medicine. It's definitely for winter--I won't leave a final rating here because I haven't worn it much and don't plan to wear it until next winter. I'll let it macerate and see if I start liking it.
