Really juicy and refreshing scent, out of notes I can only smell pear and later musk. Still got few compliments. However, it is not very long lasting, it dissapears under 1 hour and you can still smell it only if you squish your noise to your wrist. 7.5/10
after 20 mins smells like cats pee........
I get just a hint of sparkling pear cider and then the heavy smell of old women's perfumes, not in a bad way but elegant and vintage even. Definitely not a "playful", juicy, fresh one I expected.
Absolutely delicious, fresh and clean. Elegant and refreshing in a world currently stuck on amberwood and marshmallow.
Bright fruity pear opening which I love , unlike most other reviewers I don’t find this to be powdery or granny like, to me it has similar vibes to Mojave ghost and miller Harris poirier d’un soir- of which I have both… as in not the same scent but similar wearing experience. I find it unisex in the dry down, subtle but long lasting. I wear it to the gym.
i don't get a lot of pear from this, at least not the real kind. this smells more like some unspecified fruity hard candy they'd give you at a tanning salon. very screechy and sour.
I thought this was a fresh, pretty pear fragrance. But my boyfriend said I smell like a librarian..?
Nose Note #512 Not very realistic hyper-sweetened pear. I think carnation tints the pear into smelling plastic, so it's not so much artificial as it's just combined with carnation. It's a very memorable scent. Some men can definately pull this off. I wear it and I'm OK. Beyond this pear accord there's really not much going on, unfortunately. A very loud start. After some time the overall smell acquires this dusty shade. It's definately a very strong perfume so it doesn't apply to summer 100%. It's not a freshy. 7/10, dusty pear that's a little plastic
A pretty, artificial pear. Beautifully presented plastic fruit.
A whiff of pear in the beginning, then it's straight-up granny powder for 20 hours! I feel so damn scammed. The pear is nowhere to be seen!
Starts out so fun, like a pear flavored lemonade, a bit on the artificial side. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last very long; fifteen minutes and here comes the carnation, immediately aging the scent into something that a chic grandma would wear. It’s not that… bad, but doesn’t suit me at all. (After all, I was misled by the pears, just like everyone else here, lol.) And Montale’s musk tends to give me a headache at the end of the day. And boy, does it stay on LONG.
I got it in hopes of it smelling like a sweet pear popsicle, instead, I got a powdery granny baby-wipe scent with some warm spice. I'm so disappointed, there's only 1 second of pear in the background when you apply it, and then it's gone with the wind. The worse thing is that this shit STAYS for at least 28 hours. Calling this scent Wild Pears is pure delusion. I've never been this mad with a scent before.
Its a pear PERFUME, not Pear perfume . Not juicy fresh
Wild Carnation suits this better. Very faint pear not but majority this is floral and musky with a touch of woods and vanilla. Way more feminine than masculine and overall a disappointment. If you want a great pear scent try the DUA dupe of Pear & Olive by Slumberhouse named Succulent.
My own personal hell. I would not dislike this quite as much if I hadn't built up the anticipation through some 3 or so years to buy it. I hyped it too much in my mind having never smelled it since there are no physical retailers where I live. I smell mint. Somehow, for whatever reason, mint. I was so happy with the idea of a pear centric fragrance with decent longevity and I pictured it so much different. I had read the reviews here, positive and negative, I had watched video reviews... I don't understand how anyone on god's withered brown earth could call this a realistic pear impression. Mint! Spearmint! It reminds me of a lithe version of Eden by Cacharel, which was a disappointment for me too but at least I could appreciate the arrangement, the symbolicness, the representation they went for in Eden. Not here. To add salt to the wound, I was sitting at a bus stop with this demonic scent on my wrist for the first time when a mom and daughter sat next to me, they were chattering and suddenly they started talking about a perfume that the mom bought the daughter for her birthday, well, she actually pulls it out, sprays it, and what do you know? PEARS! I was being ,to quote Amy W, laughed at by the gods. She then asked, what does it smell like? And the mom replied, I don't know, roses, sweet? .... I bought it from fragrancelux which I understand is legit, but I questioned myself on the authenticity purely in the jarringn difference between what was on my wrist and the idealized, fully me-autheured version in my head. Well, with hints from reviewers and the pyramid. You might've noticed mint is not in the pyramid, people atribute the spicy element to carnation. I like carnation, this is mint to my nose for some reason. I don't think this is fresh or summery whatsoever, it was over 45C today (k me) and it was outright nauseating. Pear is my favorite note ever, mint is my most hated note ever. This is a punch in the gut. Montale 'Wild Pears': The demon of Babylon disguises itself with the coat of the righteous.
Joyous & juicy pear. Screams daytime and spring - summer. Pear is realistic and long lasting. Mood booster.
I instantly recognize a candy that tastes exactly like this fragrance: fizzy, fruity, with hints of ripe pear. Later on, the dry down is unexpectedly subtle and perfect on its own. Personally, I would have appreciated a hint of leather or tobacco to balance out the medium fruitiness, but it's still worth buying. It's incredibly fresh and clean, unlikely to overwhelm anyone. The initial spray may be misleading, but the dry down is subtly heavenly. Much later, it reminds me of the scent of someone's scalp after showering with a pleasantly fragranced shampoo, combined with their natural skin scent. It's simple and lovely, not trying to be anything more.
If that pear was more greenish this was banging Nice for female
Smells just like a fizzy pear soda. I really enjoy it. It doesn't last all day, which is a bit sad for this price point. I'm still repurchasing it however.
On my skin itsmells like a really good smelling bathroom at a nail salon. I can tell it will smell really good on someone with the right skin chemistry
Well, a pear note in a fragrance and a Montale perfume can be a hit-or-miss for me because both tend to be too sharp and musky for my liking. Therefore, I was all the more happy to realize how lovely the pear note in Wild Pears is: it reminds me of preserved pears, a concentrated fruity smell with a light sweetness. A soft muskiness starts to emerge during drydown, but it never gets overpowering and ultimately contributes to the excellent longevity of the fragrance. Even the next day, I can still smell remnants of pear and a light muskiness on my clothes. This is definitely a must-try for pear lovers.
The fragrance was born in 2011 when fruity aromas are particularly fashionable and fashion houses begin to have fun adding fruit notes to their compositions more and more often. Even the Montale perfume brand is inspired by this particular trend and decides to create a series of fragrances using very common but at the same time little-used fruits in artistic perfumery. Among these is the "wild pear" the dominant note of the Wild Pears perfume. This creation is included in the collection called “Among the Fruits” designed for lovers of delicious fruity notes. The idea recalls a ripe fruit that falls from the tree and remains abandoned in the garden, mixing with other aromas and releasing a gradually stronger and more intense trail. To its characteristic sweet juicy taste is added a spicy astringency that tickles the sense of smell. The note of wild pear opens the fragrance and characterizes it until the end, to which is added the bergamot of Calabria. The heart is composed of a bouquet that adds sweetness and carnality: lily of the valley intertwines with carnation creating a balanced mix. At the base, Montale inserts universal and romantic aromas such as sandalwood, musk and vanilla which make the composition sweet and creamy. I love her is a flirtatious pear… so persistent
This really smells like that old fashioned pear beverage, in Eastern Europe known as "dushes". So yes, there are certainly pears and I can feel then throughout the wear. However, probably to make it more sophisticated (or more wearable for a woman in her 50s) and less like fruity body mist, there are other notes added and it ruins for me. Cannot tell if it is the carnation or a mixture of notes, but is smells like a sharp harsh floral and this particular scent is completely off putting. Surely not a safe bless nd buy. Lasting power /sillage is okay though.
this scent does not mix well with my skin, and im starting to think none of the montale frags do. I was so excited for this pear perfume. The opening is nice but wasnt the blast of pear I was expecting, it was more subdued. But on dry down? This smells exactly like carmex on my skin. Definite try before you buy!
Smells like spicy baby wipes. The pear note is there for only a second. So, if you are looking for a pear perfume, then I suggest you skip this one!
My goodness, first spray - it's just a famous lemonade "Dushes"! Overwhelmingly sweet and stiсky! But later, due to flowery notes in the pyramid, it becomes even nice and quite wearable! Advice: try it before buy it UPD: i love it in summer days! It sounds much fresher, it's a scent of happiness!
I enjoy this pear fragrance, it's the only perfume in which I can recognise pear. After this magnificent pear blast , comes in a mature drydown who resembles very much to La Dolce Vita by Dior.
I am so saddened by this perfume. I am a lover of anything pear and I ordered a sample directly from the website. This smells like baby powder or a baby wipe. the pear top note lasts for 5 seconds on me and leaves the powdery base. I’m glad I didn’t blind buy it and I don’t suggest that you do either if you are looking for something heavy on pear.
Some people say canned pears, I do think it's a bit more towards the fresh side. Reason being is canned pears typically have that almost artificial sweetness to them with the syrup, and this scent is much milder. On a scale of sweet like syrup to dry bitter, it leans sweet but not by much. The opening is a bit strong on the alcohol and punchy with the fruit scent, but the drydown has the floral notes come through a lot more in almost a 50/50 balance with the fresh pear. There's just a hint of woody spiciness in the back, barely noticable. Vanilla, not so much, but maybe that's just my nose. This scent clearly leans feminine but as a guy I'm happily wearing this - it's very fresh and clean and fruity, but in a sophisticated way. I find it just sweet enough to be inviting without being sickly. Really enjoy this scent. Ironically I bought Chocolate Greedy and got this by mistake - guess happy accidents do happen!
