I get the cedar notes and a little of the coffee. I was Really excited for this but let down a little. It’s very watered down smelling. I’ll see how long it lasts on my skin.

If anyone in the UAE or India is interested, please contact me at [email protected]. I have a 100 ml bottle with the box, and approximately 95–97 ml is still remaining.

so playful yet so assured! big big love this. bring this bad boy back so i can use my current bottle freely!

Анонім

Bought because of hype. Was let down. It doesn't smell bad but isn't anything to be hyped about. Ended up selling it

Анонім

A bottle to sell with Thierry autograph on the bottom. Older batch. Around 98-99 ml left. Stored accordingly away from sunlight or extreme temps. I have few of those so some have to go. If you are interested, contact me

Galactic Men Elixir by Maison Alhambra is the best dupe! It smells like power from the very first spray.

very dignified. i got the galactic mens elixir which is not on this site but apparently it is a dupe of this (all the guys that seem to have had pute malt say so) and its quite magical. the "intense" flanker is kinda too much for me and its kinda poopy stinky old timey but theres something about this one that is just so smooth and creamy and gentlemanly and grounding and intriguing and smart and hot. its not really what i would usually go for, but it's sweet and coy enough to see myself wearing it at a formal gathering where im boymoding. it would still be more appropriate for the kind of man i would like to date than me though. heard some people mention a cherry note and yes yes yes that's what it is that makes it click for me., its got a lost cherry profile.

This is a great fragrance mine is 2018 batch and its performance is strong need only like 1-2 sprays for me. I know others say the reformulation it got weaker or something but mine has been potent still. This is the best from the line and best from the house.

Анонім

This used to be my signature, before it got discontinued. I got liquid brun today since its been hyped so much and its very close to pure malt , slightly less boozy and more refined or better blended , its worth a try for anyone looking for a replacement.

I got this as a free sample out of courtesy. This perfume truly taught me to never, EVER judge a fragrance by the bottle, the appearance of the accords, and the notes listed here. By looking at both, I assumed it would be an overly sweet, "cologne-guy" cold-weather gourmand. I never even bothered to seek out a decant because for some reason I "knew" I would hate it. I could not have been more wrong. This scent is very, very strange to me because on one hand, it's a "fun" scent that reminds me to not take this hobby too seriously. On the other hand however, it's so deeply nostalgic to me in a rather unsettling way. It reminds me of dark burgundy, familiar dream-like liminal spaces that keep popping up in my head yet I cannot describe them.

Even though I just hit 50 years old this year, I love this stuff. Boozy and sweet, this is a great black leather jacket type of scent. Glad I have a backup bottle!

I remember when this came out & getting it for Christmas thinking I was gonna hate it & Ended up being in my top 10 of all time!! Despite going thru so many bottles & Still having 3 because I was smart enough to know to rack up soon as it was discontinued when they where once $60 without a box, I just honestly never knew how to explain Pure Malt. From the beginning I always thought of rich dark dirt almost pottting soil like sweetened with this greeen mint along with this candied fruitiness with booze that complemented all the other notes oh so well!! The initial spray & dry down was all to die for as far as I’m concerned..I’ve wore this so much for so long & Theres moments when I have to step away from it for long periods of time But when I do that & come back, I’m in love all over again!

I’ll keep it simple. Smells like: a mix of honey, vanilla, cocoa (in the background and subtle), a tap of patchouli. “Vibe”: any part of the day, more for outside events. If you go on a date, understand that it’s probably a little “weird” to younger females since it’s supposed to be more mature and sophisticated. It’s a playful sophistication but not in the way young people would understand if that makes sense. Personification: it’s the fall. The leaves are a glowing golden color from the pretty, early morning sunshine. The wind is blowing periodically in a consistent pattern. The sound of rustling leaves rush around you as cars in the upper-middle class neighborhood fly past, passing them off to the breeze. You put your hand in your pocket, and take a look at the beautiful, clear late October sky. You can see your breath in the air, catching whiffs of the cherry tobacco cigar you smoked earlier. On your way to where you’re going, you pass a cafe, spiking your morning delight with smells of vanilla and some chocolate; the sweet smells masking the cafe. The professionals in the cafe are typing away at their keyboards, some striking their salt-n-pepper beards, coming up with new ideas to present to the world and their company. Longevity and silage: it lasts a long time. You can smell it on your skin like 15 hours later. People can definitely smell you. Don’t worry. They’ll smell you coming. And for a while, too. Overall: one of my favorite fragrances. So far, I’ve got about 50 bottles or more in my collection. From extremely cheap stuff to stuff that costs a few hundred bucks (I’m not buying that stupid Bond no.9 stuff or anything like that).

Today we leave behind the sunlit ease of Bohemian Lime and step into something richer, fuller, and far more intoxicating: the warm, ambered world of Mugler’s Pure Malt. This fragrance has long held a near-mythic status among enthusiasts, promising a fusion of boozy malted whisky, sweet fruits, and gourmand woods that feels equal parts cozy indulgence and bold evening swagger. Based on the notes, Pure Malt seems designed to capture the comforting depth of aged spirits—warm barrel wood, sticky fruits, and a mellow sweetness that lingers like the final sip of a good pour. Whether it lives up to its reputation as one of Mugler’s most beloved flankers, or shows its age in a landscape now crowded with boozy gourmands, is what we’re here to explore. Let’s raise a glass and begin. Opening: The opening is fruity, boozy, and earthy. The primary notes I get are the blended “fruit notes,” whisky, malt, and peat, with the fruit and whisky taking center stage. The fragrance begins with a vibrant burst of ambiguous fruit—suggestions of plum, berry, and apple weaving together into a sweet but inviting mix. Close behind is the whisky accord. While not the most realistic whisky note I’ve encountered (that honor still belongs to Nasomatto Baraonda), it effectively evokes the warmth and spirit of a freshly poured glass. It’s boozy, gently spiced, and adds a pleasing burn-like warmth that grounds the fruitiness and prevents it from tipping too sweet or overly feminine. Supporting these two are the malt and peat. The malt reinforces the boozy character with a roasted, grainy quality that blends seamlessly into the whisky. The peat adds a subtle earthy undertone, reminiscent of the faint smoky earthiness found in certain Scotch whiskies. Together, they create a balanced, textured opening that feels cozy, rich, and immediately engaging. Dry Down: The dry down is fruity, boozy, and sweet. The primary notes I get are malt, the “fruit notes,” whisky, and vanilla, with the malt and fruit leading the way. As the fragrance settles, the malt becomes more prominent, amplifying that roasted, grain-forward aroma and lending a surprisingly authentic malted character to the scent. The fruit remains present but softens, taking a secondary role behind the malt while still adding a juicy lift. The whisky persists with the same warm, enveloping booziness from the opening, though the spicy bite has now smoothed into a gentle nibble. Finally, the vanilla emerges in the base, adding a soft, creamy sweetness that rounds the composition and gives the dry down coziness. It’s a comforting, enveloping finish—warm, friendly, and easy to enjoy. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is strong, extending roughly six feet with a dense and warm scent trail to match. After a few hours, the projection softens to about 3–4 feet, and the sillage becomes noticeably lighter but still perceptible. However, by the 7–8 hour mark, the fragrance had already settled into a skin scent, suggesting a total runtime of about 5–6 hours. For a boozy gourmand, the longevity is underwhelming, and this unfortunately impacts its overall appeal. When to Wear: Pure Malt is a fall/winter fragrance and works best for evening wear. Its warm, boozy nature makes it an excellent choice for special events, dressed-up occasions, or nights when you want something comforting and inviting. That said, I wouldn’t reach for it casually or in office settings, as its personality leans too bold and too cozy for those environments. Blind Buy: Pure Malt is not a safe blind buy. Its boozy whisky heart will appeal most to those who specifically enjoy alcoholic-tinged fragrances with roasted, fruity, and sweet undertones. If that scent profile fits your tastes, it’s absolutely worth sampling. Final Verdict: Pure Malt offers a wonderfully engaging scent profile—warm, boozy, fruity, and cozy in a way that fits perfectly into my general preferences. It’s the type of fragrance I could easily see in my personal rotation, and the blend itself feels both nostalgic and satisfying. Unfortunately, the performance holds it back. A fragrance this rich, warm, and boozy begs for staying power, yet Pure Malt fades far sooner than I’d like, especially compared to other scents in the same genre. Still, the composition is strong enough that, if I find it at a good price, I’d happily pick it up as a collector’s piece. It may not be something I actively chase, but it’s absolutely something I’d enjoy owning for the scent alone. This one doesnt aproach, the ladies come by themselves, the sexiest boozy scent ever

This is the one and only fragrance in the world I can say is worth every single dollar it costs from the ebay resellers and more. Nothing lasts longer, nothing smells greater, nothing is sexier, nothing is fresher, nothing is more masculine. This is the sexy, boozy, slightly fruity, aged rum barrel. Many fragrance lovers go around buying hundreds of fragrances in search of the ONE. And I say if you have landed here and are reading this... THIS IS THE ONE! Buy it and never buy anything else again. Stop at this one and enjoy it nothing beats Thierry Mugler Pure Malt.

Definitely has the A*Men DNA. Nice, creamy and sweet, with the interesting earthy, slightly atringent accords blended in. When directly sniffing points of application on the skin, the bitter, earthy peat note is apparent, and presents a bit of a challenge while imparting interest. The malt, whiskey and coffee notes add to this, and is somewhat reminiscent of the "tar" accord of the OG. It smells better diffuse in the air. I wouldn't put the "fruity" accord at the top of the accord stack, even though it is prominent in the opening. Im a few hours into a test wear, and the fruity accord has long since given way to the earthy accords. Just acquired a partially (30%) full bottle of Pure Malt, and don't yet know where I'd rank Malt in the A*Men line. I now have all the major ones except Pure Tonka.

Hair-raising first hour, as with all of the A Mens. I really don't enjoy that part but the eternal drydown it leaves behind is exquisite, as with all of the A Mens. Doesn't smell of peat or whisky though, if you want that, check out Spiritcask or Monolith from Jorum Studio.

Review 24 "Whiskey Barrel Aged Scent" One of my most reliable scents, I wore this almost exclusively for a few years. I have a vintage bottle still. Beautiful aged wood smell with the whiskey undertones, this can be polarizing to women in my life, some hate it, others adore it. This stands out for me in a big way. There was a certain point in my life where i felt this was the 1 bottle that encapsulated me as a man, but I have moved away from that lifestyle now. I'm very much into classy woods/whiskey combo and I'm a sucker for bergamot scents. A night date scent or casual one, it's literally workable in any environment. A classy night bar scent above all. 9.5 Scentrack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6ge7t4kgwU Yuzo Konshiro - In The Bar II

Nothing special about it, smell really cheap. Hyped synthetic mess.

I am calling out to the niche clone brands from here, bring this back. They know who they are. I am talking about niche brands that sell discontinued legendary designer perfumes for 10 times the price. Look, there's a jewel here. Look, look. Look, look now. Note: I do not mean Arab perfume houses. They are good about the price. 🙂

Launched in 2009, Mugler's A*Men Pure Malt is one of the most iconic editions of the A*Men line and, without a doubt, one of my favorites. Created as a tribute to renowned Scottish whiskies, this perfume evokes all the sophistication of aged barrels, smoke, heat and liquid luxury — translated in an intense, addictive and extremely refined fragrance. Olfactory Pyramid Top notes: Fruits, Orange and Bergamot – a slightly citrusy and sweet opening, with an effervescent and fruity touch. Heart notes: Malt, Whiskey, Patchouli, Coffee and Cedar – here the perfume comes into its own: alcoholic, warm, slightly bitter and resinous, with patchouli and cedar giving depth. Base notes: Peat, Vanilla, Amber and Musk – the base is where the magic happens. Elegant smoke (from the peat), balanced sweetness from the vanilla, a comforting amber and musk that finishes with creaminess. The performance is excellent: Projection: moderate to high in the first 2 hours Standardness: between 8 and 10 hours on the skin Sillage: noticeable and elegant, without being invasive It is a perfume that draws attention without being loud, ideal for those looking for something striking, but with class. Occasions Pure Malt shines on cold nights, dates, special dinners, elegant bars or any occasion in which you want to exude a mysterious and refined air. It is not ideal for hot weather or for casual everyday use, as its proposal is more adult, sensual and alcoholic — it calls for moments that match its complexity. Final considerations A*Men Pure Malt is a masterpiece of designer perfumery. While maintaining the bold DNA of the A*Men line (with patchouli, coffee and sweet notes), it stands out for its maturity and sophistication, thanks to the whiskey accord that is incredibly well-crafted. It is a fragrance that mixes comfort with boldness, luxury with rebellion — and that is why it remains one of the best flankers of the A*Men line, if not the best. If you are looking for a perfume that impresses effortlessly, that combines originality with elegance and that carries a unique signature, Pure Malt is a must. One of my favorites and a true gem that, unfortunately, has already been discontinued, which makes it even more special. Final score: 9.6/10 (It could be a 10, if it were still easier to find...)

Malty boozy fruity deliciousness. Some woods and patch in the background to round everything out. Other than the atomizer, it’s stellar.

The patchouli is strong in this. Much stronger than the notes makes it out to be. It’s ok but not a love for me. *edit, this has really grown on me. Love it now.
