Culinary and disgusting. An immediate no.

For a leather fragrance, it is more of a cashmeran with a subtle javanol or firsantol like background and ambiguous spices.

Woody (hard matured wood) and leathery yes, but only to a limited extent and in a very specific way. For me primarily lively, oily or greasy to wet and incredibly dusty. As if you had just soaked that beautiful dry skin with a massive layer of protective oil in a room that was unventilated, dusty... musty dusty...musk, male, probably a dominant woman could wear it, but more of an exception. It is also quite sweet, but it is neither edible nor floral, chemically sweet, in a way it reminds me of a freshly unwrapped perfumed condom. Specific, unique, signature material, quite expensive, orange-brown and showing off its presence. I had to get used to it a lot.

This, Halfeti by Penhaligon’s and Eden by Adamo are, by far, the most complimented fragrances I own. Duro is the GOAT when it comes to compliments, though, I mean, every single time I wear it, women go crazy for it. On my skin, this is truly magic. The scent suits the way I look, the way I dress, everything. Perfection. It is probably not for everyone; actually, it is definitely not for everyone. But that is precisely why perfume is so subjective and personal.

When I first smelled this - it felt so familiar. I've come to realize that this is so very close to Treading Water Perfumes - The Observer. I do think the Observer is better in that it smells more "complete", while this to me is very raw. Think of heavy rain washing dirt down a cobbled path. This has that smell: petrichor, wood, earth, spices, moss, stone. Though it's rough and intense, I feel this wears super elegantly. For some reason, I get the feeling this would pair well with fine dresswear on a night out or something of the sort...

I’ve been trying to fully wrap my head around Duro for a while, trying to figure out what exactly it reminds me of. Finally, a very clear picture painted itself in my mind. Imagine a dense forest where trees are actively being chopped down — there’s this powerful, thick, tangible scent of fresh wood splinters and lumber. But right in the middle of this brutal logging site, there is a woman with an old leather makeup bag. Over the years, everything has spilled and mixed inside that bag — from lipsticks to various liquid makeups. Yet, the dominant accord that cuts through it all is a dry, vintage powder. You know, the kind from those old clam-shell compacts where the powder comes in tiny pearls, covered by a soft foam pad. It’s this incredible contrast between the rugged, masculine wood and that dense, slightly vintage cosmetic powder that I get from this fragrance. Incredibly atmospheric and profound.

I remember the first time I wore this fragrance, when I felt the ground explode beneath my feet and I began to feel like a more powerful man. I wanted to have sex to unleash this virile energy because it shouldn't be held back. This fragrance will give you a feeling that no other fragrance can offer.

Not as punchy as I thought it was going to be (in terms of performance) but the scent itself is indeed very masculine & strong. Although to be sure, this is certainly still a good performing fragrance & so you would expect for the Nasomatto concentrations. Smoky, woody, spicy. Yeah, this is something I would wear. I have not been disappointed by this house at all so far. Excellent work Alessandro. I will admit that it's a hard choice between this & pardon for me. On one hand, I think pardon is the superior scent. On the other, I find Duro more suitable to my character. 9.5/10

I haven't had duro since maybe 2016 and when my friend picked it up I was excited to wear it again. I feel like it was a little stronger and a little more daring back then but overall, the vibe is still the same. But I also think I have changed because I have tried many daring and challenging scents since then. Duro in Italian means hard and tough. Durable. And that's exactly the energy. It's sharp, medicinal and edgy. It's like clean but spicy petroleum drenched wood chips draped over an animal pelt. It will also always have a special place in my heart. Very masculine IMO. After I went through Duro I bought Montale Aoud musk, which is very close.

I remember when I first time sprayed it on myself,it was a blind buy and my first reaction was "wow that's strong,very bold" after 2-3 times of wearing it I got comfortable with it and started to like more and more until I just fell in love with it.it is unique,Strong and very bold perfume maybe you won't like it first time but it grows on you and you will fell in love with it and how it makes you feel. 10/10

Sides pairing Duro with the Pardon on some finally true next level'ism. Add watery masculine to the warm wood Pardon smoke and add extra elegant classic to the uplift fruit illusion factor in Duro.

It is what is says: a hard on. It's this amazing, unmatched, rough masculinity. But with whiff of powder or a sense of clean. Animalic and savage scent of a well polished man caught in a moment. Sweat and sex but after a shower, with another man possibly. In a cabin in the woods. LOVE As always Alessandro 🖤 Love that only us italian catch the HARD ON reference in the title.

Got a free sample the other day because the very charming vendor at the parfume shop clocked me as the big old homo I am. Straight out the gate, this smells like being in an old wood cabin, on my knees for a freshly showered, leather clad man, straight huffing his crotch. After two hours it settles in a more generic but pleasant leathery/woody smell, minus the clean crotch. Not a bad smell, but wouldn't purchase this for myself

very dusty and dry. Patchouli egocentric fragrance. However, it lacks originality, a mediocre offering from Gualtieri. It does not wow me as much as some of his other offerings.

Lovely woods and patchouli. Some kind of sweet animal lurking in those woods. Leather. Elegant, not overpowering at all. Gualtieri ❤️

It’s woody green scent ok but not special

This is better than I remember it being. My perception it is sweeter than I remember. Wood, powder, a little leather, patchouli. That is how I experience this, pretty good.

The more I wear Duro, the more convinced I am that this might low-key be the best fragrance in the Nasomatto lineup. So what is Duro about? It’s a woody, leathery, patchouli-heavy, spicy fragrance built around sandalwood, with Alessandro Gualtieri’s unmistakable musky signature giving it that slightly sweaty, animalic edge. It opens loud, very amped up on woody aromachemicals and synthetics. Strong, almost screechy at first. But within minutes, it starts to settle and smooth out. That initial sharpness transforms into something more soft and controlled. The woods bring a dryness to the scent, quite arid. Meanwhile, the sandalwood and musk soften everything, adding a creamy, slightly sweaty nuance. There’s a watery, salty sensation, like clean skin after sweat. I imagine it’s the interaction between the musk and woody compounds, though some might interpret it as an animalic facet. The leather sits wrapped in a patchouli base. And the patchouli is prominent. It gives the fragrance a metallic darkness that perfectly complements the “black motorcycle leather jacket” vibe in the background. It feels unapologetically masculine. In the dry down, spices emerge alongside a subtle floral touch. The musk becomes slightly sweet here, making the fragrance smoother and almost mouthwatering. That stage is surprisingly balanced — spicy, slightly floral, musky — and honestly, that’s where Duro becomes more unisex than some might expect. Why is Duro the best Nasomatto for me? It’s actually my most complimented one. Even more than Baraonda — which I consider the safer, “I want to smell sexy, let’s go out” type of fragrance. Whenever I wear Duro, people ask what I’m wearing. Performance is beastly. 2 spray max. Climate? Naah fck them climates, wear it for any season, but I would avoid it in the heat.

Definitely a masculine scent, but performs a bit too "powdery" on a warm day. It's a great winter fragrance that cuts through like cold air. The complexity is limited to the first scent, as it doesn't change very much through the day, it simply becomes less potent. Plenty of people review this as woody, spicy, leathery, which is true, but I find it a bit too sweet to lead with those descriptors. I enjoy wearing Duro on the coldest days.

This thing smells feromones. I love it and don't want my decant to end, because it is quite expensive to buy a full bottle and even then, 30 ml is quite too little to enjoy often.. By the way, does anyone what kind of animal smell is it? I can only imagine a deer smelling similar!

I’m sincerely pleased to see that people enjoy this. I bought a bottle in around 2010 after being impressed by the smell on paper, and then spent a couple of months wondering why it faded to a sports shower gel nothing on my skin, getting through the whole bottle in the process. Perhaps it was simply a matter of skin chemistry, rather than my younger self having been efficiently marketed to by a rude name - it means stiffy! - and the illusion of atomic strength created by the teeny-tiny bottle and daft price.

Super masculine with an aggressive spicy opening, saffron and cumin mostly. After a while spiceness tones down into a wood animalic boya scent, saffron builds the leather accord which remains all over the long lasting dry down. Quite a bold scent, winter fragrance (I can't imagine wearing this on summer). Even if it has a masculine DNA I can imagine a girl wearing it as provocation, like an ironic move. It has some sweatiness on my skin. Longevity and sillage are HUGE as most of the Gualtieri's creations. Definetly love this but i don't recomend for blind buy, expecially if you are not familiar with boya.

After 10 years of experience in Perfume, i finally like this very much. I remember thinking of it as a very strong scent that didn't have any appeal. super woody, metallic leather and patchouli. Now, as i'm a bit older, this is pretty good actually. I still prefer Black Afgano and Pardon but this is almost up there. I detect a bit of dry fruits too, in the opening.

Very woody and leathery, which makes it very masculine. I do get the patchouli, but its very faint for me, not like everybody else describes it. Longevity is great, and the projection is nuclear. Very mature scent. I wish i could pull it off, but im still too young.

This is not for me - but still very good. Following the first sample my impressions was that it mainly smells like sweet burnt rubber, I was not a fan, and I have waited for long to give it another try. Now I can say it is a very oldschool kind of masculine profile, the three main layers are woods (dryness), animalic notes (sweetness and depth) and leather (rigid and sharp kind of leather). I picture rainy, foggy weather and like a coastal wooden cabin when smelling this, it definitely has an atmospheric character (if that makes any sense). Although they are far from being comparable profiles, it gives me a similar overall vibe like the most masculine Amouage compositions i.e. Epic Man or Reckless Leather - it even passes as somewhat of a combination of the two. Similarly, I would not imagine myself wearing either of the latter, but I totally admit their capabilities as definite masculine scent profiles.
