Words cannot express how much I love this fragrance… Innocent High quality Airy Feminine Unique Neither synthetic nor generic Icy Floral Cold Musky Nostalgic If it projected a bit more it will absolutely break it to the top5 for life
I just can’t stop reviewing this masterpiece I thank god Every time i get my nose on this scent U know ? Every brand has its iconic floral scent Dior ~ Pure Poison Carolina Herrera ~ 212 NYC Chanel ~ Gabrielle essence Lancome ~ Miracle Estée Lauder ~ Pleasures Issey miyake ~ L’Eau D’Issey Lacoste ~ Pour Femme Roberto Cavalli ~ Paradiso Hugo Boss ~ Boss Femme Nina Ricci? Baby Its right in front of your eyes what are you waiting for? I mean …
the drydown reminds very much like Acne Studios by Frederic Malle. this one is way way better and more wearable. I like it so much. I am gladly wearing it this summer. and people are asking as always. I am never after complimets as I always wear scents for myself but this one sparks curiosity...
Im addicted💕🤍🤍 I always hear about vanilla bombs, musk bombs etc But with premier jour ? Ur gonna experience what i call an airiness BOMB Don’t expect a creamy gardenia orchid Vanilla with a sweetened sweet pea cus it’s not Its a really fresh watery rosy sweet pea with the insanely good fresh petales of gardenia and musk not a sweet or super creamy scent more like a fresh petals of airy florals It has that ginger edge really noticeable idk why is no one mentioning that And the opening is soo watery and fresh like sage water notes and sweet pea then just sweet pea soapy gardenia ginger and musk Absolutely no sweetness or vanilla either Peace and Thursday mornings
Nina Ricci's Premier Jour (First Day) opens with a the bright tang of mandarin and the similarly sharp, spicy sweetness of a lathyrus (sweet pea) accord. Of course, the citrus soonburns off, but the sweet pea remains as the primary floral motif of the entire fragrance. While it is modified by additional notes, floral and otherwise, there is little that explicitly suggests gardenia, despite prominent mention in Fragrantica's note pyramid. No, Premier Jour is decidedly a spring floral scent. Perhaps a subtle equivalence is intended between 'premier' and 'printemps'. As such, their is a general similarity with many similar muguet or hyacinth-led scents, In any case, the notes are nicely balanced and arranged. The changeover in drydown to a full-bodied blending of musk and sandalwood is also appreciable. Premier Jour would certainly be an inspired choice for the first day of Spring, ...or any other as well. Also, the frosted glass bottle of erratically stacked cylinders is both beautiful and memorably abstract. Of course, many fragrances eventually develop their own legendary stories and personalized culture, ...but few have had anything as profoundly notorious happen as that which befell the only-coincidentally so, but still ill-fated, Premier Jour. ...For yes indeed, it is true that a sample vial labelled as this fragrance was used to transport the novichok nerve poison used in the 2018 Salisbury espionage poisonings. While such a calamity would also obviously be a public relations disaster for any brand's product, it appears that production of Premier Jour was actually discontinued at least several years before the now-infamous act of attempted assassination and terrorism.
Amazing a huge love 🤍 The Opening is a bit masculine watery aquatic feel with a delicate but noticeable ginger aroma and Bright citruses really unique and addictive opening ! Mellows into a heavenly sweet pea+gardenia combo that smell really balanced and well blended When the base appears i start to get the gardenia more that’s when the scent turns to a really nostalgic detergent laundry like scent with the musk appearing more Moderate projection and a really decent price tag Fresh’s the heck out of my body Just Perfection ✨
I misinterpreted the florals as honeysuckle or lily of the valley. Quite synthetic either way. There is a hint of craft glue to this as well. It feels familiar and not very new (like 90s/2000s). Soft, fairly gentle.
It was beautiful perfume 20 years ago. Not just a pale shadow of the previous magnificence... Cruelly reformulated. So sorry...
I need to stop with the blind buys because I always get it wrong. Based on the reviews I was expecting or hoping to like this. First smell was extremely alcoholic, suddenly it turned pleasant. Nothing special and very soapy, like coming fresh out of the shower. But the dry down on my skin after a while is definitely not for me at all, I had to wash it off because it kept itching my nose and gave me grandma lady vibes. I’m actually surprised about the price point, IMO this is definitely a cheap scent.
A beautifully blended warm creamy floral scent 😍 So lovely and soft and feminine! Easy to wear, the sweet pea and musk intertwined makes this a heavenly fragrance just right ✅
Pretty, cute, and softly floral. As someone who used to wear the Body Fantasies sweet pea body spray in my teens, I was wondering if I could find a good sweet pea perfume as a grown woman who has now acquired a perfume addiction... I’m pleased! This obviously isn’t synthetic, crappy body spray. It’s not sharp or overpowering at all. And I love the gardenia note. It makes it feel so soft and pretty. Someone commented that this is what Miss Honey from the movie Matilda would wear, and I completely agree! It’s cute and puts a smile on my face.
this was my signature scent for a long time during my mid 20s and 30s. it is a happy, elegant and clean scent. used to get lots of compliments from strangers ( both men & women)
Found a loose bottle of this in my hedge in Salisbury. Gonna test it out!
The smell is a beautiful vanilla, sweet floral and orange scent... For some people it may smell soapy possibly. On myself luckily it's a subtle simply feminine smell. I absolutely hate the bottle design it's flimsy and annoying! It doesn't match the smell at all! I recommend this for a lady; a sophisticated lady maybe aged 25-40... It's a nice and safe smell... However for the price I wouldn't ever buy this again. I love it but... Compared to my other perfumes of a similar price this one lacks personality.... I LOVE IT STILL!
If you like layering or want to start experimenting with layering, you NEED to own this! It’s beautiful and subtle on its own, but works wonders when paired with a strong scent. I’ve tried pairing it with Trésor La Nuit, as well as Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, and it created the perfect balance. Going to keep experimenting with it for sure.
My mum has somehow ended up with a bottle of Premier Jour and is not keen. I'm not either, it smells meh to me. At a blind sniff, I was expecting to see 'cyclamen .. lotus ... aquatic' for this perfume because that's what it smells like to me, watery and 'blue'. I had a friend in the 90s that loved Cacharel Eau d'Eden and similar 'blue' lines that were out at the time. Premier Jour really reminds me of that. If you like Eau d'Eden and similar, try to sample this, you might love it.
If you wanna smell clean, fresh, elegant, soft and neat you must have it .Especially in winter its AMAZING.When i first smelled it, i fell in love insistently and since then(2023) i started wearing it to uni, family gatherings,shopping,meetings...its almost empty now and I ordered another one. idc what everyone says, it's perfect and It's my signature scent .<3
Deeply sensual soft and creamy white citrus, white floral musk with a sophisticated sweet pea accent. Haunitng , simple, penetrating yet very feminine and intoxicating. Good for the office, running errands, sexy time, romantic dinners-all encompassing fragrance. Love, Love, Love.
Wore this many years back, and interestingly in winter -20. It was amazing how it zinged and behaved in cold weather. It was during my first love and I was no less than intoxicated by this. Such a special place in my heart.
Optimism in a bottle. From the name, Premier Jour (first day), to the bottle (one block on top of the other), to the soft peachy color and the bright vibrant scent everything conveys optimism. Premier Jour opens with a glorious, zesty, sweet, mandarin-orange which lights up your face with a smile. I was surprised there were no orange blossoms, but it’s probably the well behaved gardenia from the heart giving this white floral effect. Surprisingly the gardenia doesn’t overpower the delicate cheerful sweet peas, it just lends a creaminess and a mild green edge, but the sweet peas are very distinct which is a good change in a floral designer perfume. The base is sweet, soft and smooth. The overall composition suits a polite, polished pure woman, dressed in white and beige, sleek hair and nude makeup. It’s very versatile on a spring/summer morning; you can wear it to office, to church, in hospital, or school, for a wedding day or to go shopping and it will still seem relevant. Adorable ☺️
Bitter sweet citrusy delight with green almonds and vanilla. Projection is not the best, but it lingers all day. It is delicate, demure and ethereal. I used to wear it at college 20 years ago. The flacon was made of frosty glass, if I am not mistaken, and the smell was far more bitter and far more almondy. Now it's more airy and green, but still lovely anyway. So because they stopped making my signature perfume (Narciso in white cube), which I had been using for almost 9 years, I had to swap. Great decision, I am 20 again :D Edit: I've already been complemented on it!
Pretty, Soft & Sophisticated. Personally my signature European fragrance ever since the day I’ve purchased it there.
Every time I order the "mixed bag of samples" from a certain online retailer they send me this one, attached to a single serving sample of the matching lotion and the matching shower gel. So I have had several opportunities over the years to give myself the complete Premier Jour experience. I even had a full bottle for awhile, it was too sculptural looking to pass up. The fragrance itself never grew on me, even with all those testings. I'll admit that I do have a tremendously hard time finding sweet pea notes that I like. Most times I find them headache inducingly screechy sweet. (Looking at you, Pleats Please and Carven Le Parfum) Premier Jour by Nina Ricci at least wins for being the least upsetting sweet pea I've encountered thus far. The mandarin note comes out very sour to me but it fades quickly. The majority of the wear is sweet pea tempered with a powdery, dusty gardenia note. I'm sure this is perfect for a lot of people but it's one that feels too "good little church girl" for me personally. Pretty but ultimately lacking in interesting personality.
I have a little journey with this one. Starting from totally hating it, then kinda accepting and liking it, now I think I start loving it. Difficult ,need to try it in the different weather. It is more of a spring summery perfume definitely. Elegant, clean and polish. More appropriate for day time. Perfect for work.
Although Premier Jour was launched in 2001, I have only recently tried it. On my skin, Premier Jour opens sharply but quickly transitions into a clean, sweet pea and musk scent. It’s refreshing but it also reminds me of a perfume that could easily be from the 1990s. They share no listed notes, but L'eau d'Issey by Issey Miyake reminds me of this perfume’s style. With a much more robust note breakdown and leaning aquatic, L'eau d'Issey is a fresh and clean perfume, with soft projection and good performance. It was a popular feminine scent for a reason, and it reminds me of this scent I’m wearing today It comes as no surprise that I really like Premier Jour for many of the reasons I liked L'eau d'issey in the 1990s; a clean, fresh, easy-to-wear, ultra feminine perfume. Sweet Pea is the star in this composition; it is linear and performs steady after the short, sharp and bright opening. Premier Jour will probably be snubbed by niche purists, but I love how it hugs you all day in a soft pretty musk. Premier Jour is a mainstream success—the easiest reach. I adore it and now I own it.
This is pretty but so light I can barely smell it. Maybe I'll be more able to pick it up in summer but in spring I can barely even smell it.
Very feminine fragrance. But low longevity.
This fragrance is a sweet floral while at the same time being unique with no sharp edges. I can smell the almonds, gardenia, sweet pea and woodsy notes In equal measure. A safe fragrance that can be worn everyday to work and is perfect for all seasons. I hope to God this isn't discontinued please!!!
Hullo Perfumites! Let's get into Nina Ricci here this fine evening. I love Nina Ricci as a general rule. I view them as a fragrance house that is vastly underrated. They have established themselves as a long-lasting company, and their perfumes are generally winners. From classic floral chypres (L'Air du Temps) that remain awesome today (Yes, I love it, and it was my father's favourite perfume on my teenage self!) to fruity bombs (Nina - red apple scent) to sexy-as-heck caramelised rose (L'Extase - and the whole range which I am low-key EXCITED to try any dang day)! Additionally, their perfumes are also very reasonably priced. Now. There are some disappointments. I'm still not wild about "Ricci Ricci". A deeply mature woman scent that threatens to give me a headache, but I love the rhubarb element in it. And unfortunately... this. I was ready to LOVE this. Mandarin orange, sweet peas, musk, and sandalwood? Lord, where are my smelling salts? Not here! I bought this because I had heard it was discontinued (I'm still not sure if this is absolutely correct). A previous review labelled this as 'lemony sweet peas with musk' - and they are correct. But I find it to be not quite as blissful as I hoped. The lemony vibe I suspect it the mandarin orange (coz...citrus, yo) and - granted - it's fairly nice and gentle. The sweet peas surprise me. I love sweet peas. With their gentle, pretty, elegant, sweet aroma and gorgeous variety of colours. They will be planted in my English cottage that doesn't actually exist. Not these suckers, though. These sweet peas are sharp! Not even green - just spicy and sharp. Although, this could be the musk. I submitted a review of "Chloe Love" where I was extremely disappointed in how "drug-store cheap" the musk was. I honestly feel it's the same here - really sharp, spicy, and... kinda low-quality. This perfume just feels like it scratches and clogs my throat. It's not delicate, gentle or sweet. These sweet peas are out for revenge from being picked from imaginary country bungalows. I'm confused about the florals. It's meant to have gardenia and orchid, but... the florals in this are (hostile) sweet peas... and non-descript flowers. Usually, gardenia and orchid have fairly distinctive scents, so this troubles me, padawans. The longevity is actually pretty good. I sprayed this about 4 hours ago, and it's definitely still there. The sillage is initially a bit much as that scratchy element feels like this gasses me with that sharp cloud. However, this does settle to a skin scent. It's been 4 hours, but I have to lift my arm to my nose to smell it. At this point, I'm wearing this to use it up because I lack the moral courage to sell it or throw it away. Overall, not my jam and a disappointing effort from Nina Ricci (although I'll continue to sniff "L'Extase" happily and melt into a little KittyDeBeauvoir-shaped puddle). Not repurchase-worthy. *** Kitty rating: 4.5/10. Hubby rating: 5/10 - "I can't really smell it that well. Mmmm, neutral. That's all."
This is a very pleasant floral/citrusy everyday perfume. It is not offensive or overwhelming but it is one that has no real character either.I used to wear it a lot in uni when i wanted to blend and just smell nice so i have good memories by it and probably will come back to it.
