Amber Elixir

I can smell the amber and sandalwood, musk makes it powdery, can't smell other notes than these. It's a nice fall every day perfume 🍂

I used to love wearing this one in the winter time as it stays for a good while on my skin and clothes. To me, this reminded me of a warm hug on a really cold winter day. Really nicely made fragrance.

It’s a great all-around fragrance for any weather or occasion. It’s strong and longlasting, but not cloying. Out of all my fragrances - niche, designer, or cheap ones, this one gets me the most compliments, hands down. It will always be a repurchase for me.

This was my favorite choice for work for a while. My friend complimented me on the scent and asked what it was, but when I brought the bottle to work and showed it to her, it turned out she didn't like it as much as I did on me after a few hours of wearing it. The initial scent might be too overwhelming for some, but it's perfect for me. After a few hours, it settles on the skin and, with my skin chemistry, creates something wonderful: warm, sweet, almond, and powdery. I love this scent. It's very long-lasting and feminine.

A classic, warm composition—smooth, enveloping, and classically elegant. The notes are well blended, forming primarily a warm veil that settles creamy on the skin. On fabric, it lingers for several hours; the sillage is unobtrusive, yet throughout the day it subtly reminds you, prompting the thought, “what smells so lovely here?” A very successful and well-constructed fragrance, offering excellent quality for the price. Highly recommended.

I love this perfume. It is spicy, warm, sweet. And just slightly dark. I would think this would make the perfect autumn sent but I always love wearing this during winter. I have gone though a few bottles. It is a beautiful sent.

I've known this scent for a longe time, but never actually liked it. I used up a bottle of it's blue Crystal flanker, but never this one. Now somehow I got a sample and tried it on a dark, gloomy winter day. It is probably a cold weather scent, it openes with sweet orange and transitions into a warm, ambery soft drydown I actually enjoyed. I didn't find it too strong, but it might be different when sprayed from a bottle. I tend to think that it is no coincidence that it's been around for 2 decades.

One of the more underwhelming bottles in my collection. Not very remarkable, a bit too sweet. It’s cozy though, but it doesn’t last very long.

My mother had it, and it was too heavy and mature. I was too young to use it, but it smelled so overwhelming that my mother ended up not using it at all.

a great parfum for winter

This was a blind buy for me based on a lot of positive reviews I saw online and it just seemed like my kind of fragrance. For some reason I was so disappointed when I first got it. I even hid it away just to not see it and think about the money I wasted 🤭I'm not even sure why I wasn't feeling it. Maybe because the weather outside was still hot. I feel so silly now though, because I found it a few weeks later and gave it another try and Oh My God! It is just so gorgeous 😍. Maybe it has macerated, maybe it's because the weather has cooled down or my perception of it has changed, I don't know what it was, but I really love it now. It's so thick and heavy, feels like a weighted blanket, perfect for cold snowy winter. It is very strong though so a little goes a long way. I don't do more than two sprays.

I found cloyingly sweet on first spray but the dry down is HEAVENLY. Light musky and sexy. A delight.

Powdery and sweet almond-forward amber, opens with a candy-sweet orange. Feels a lot like powdery nougat, something you'd bake with. Perfect for autumn and winter, projects no more than arms length.

I will always love this. Powdery almondy soft fluffy perfect for autumn.

So elegant, warm and cozy! This is amber and almond done right, oh and the sandalwood just makes everything smell sooo creamy and inviting! Well blended, amazing quality from Oriflame.

Powdery floral and spicy amber perfume with some freshness. Mainly I get a sandalwood and an almond, also good dose of a heliotrope, and a black currant and a mandarin orange zing. It is a bit creamy and enveloping, although it is balanced with some sharpness. Amber is not resinous, but very synthetic - then again it fits the composition. I mean ingredients’ quality is what it is, but for the price… (wait for offer anyway!) Drydown is a bit meh, though. Very nondescript, slightly sour, yet milky santal-musk (typical to Oriflame, and also Avon). For colder weather, day and night; unisex; for cozy to elegant settings - not so much for professional or very intimate ones.

I opened the bottle ( which design I love), sprayed it a little and thought aaaah! So warm, sensual, and a little different from my typical choices.. but then an hour or so later, the fragrance went from warm and cozy to something reminding me of a cheap men’s after shave. So disappointed. The warm lovely smell did stay on my sweater, but smells very different on skin. Such a shame:(

I just love Amber Elixir, one of my absolute favorites from Oriflame. It is elegant and classy yet warm and inviting. The amber has a soft sweetness to it -from the fruits and an unlisted vanilla note, as well as a gentle powdery accord from the florals and almond. The woods and musk add to the depth and sensuousness of the amber in the base. I find it a lovely and very well balanced amber great for the cold months 😍

I like the first impression when I spray it on my wrist. I love the blend of orange, sandalwood, and amber in it. It's sweet, warm, and suit for a formal occasion. It's noticeable during the first 3 hours. Then it fades slowly, until it's only an inch smell away from my skin. The dry down is a bit sour, not something I really fond of, but I'm okay with it. So I respray it after 4 or 5 hours, to keep the sweet & warm smell linger on my skin. I use this for office day or an evening occasion. Not really like the smell when I'm under the sun during a hot humid day. Prefer to wear this during rainy days or evening time.

Heavy amber scent, in a good way and it's close to incense but not that heavy. Friendly and portable, casual or more formal. Overall a winner.

This was disappointing to me. I imagined this to be a warm, enveloping combination of amber and almonds, but I don't get any amber at all and I don't find this scent rich enough to be called Elixir. The opening is very fruity and sour to my nose. Black currant and mandarin smell so tart here that they remind me of lemons. And to make matters worse the fruit notes have an artificial undertone instead of natural juiciness. As the scent dries down they make space for the almond and heliotrope. They're very creamy and light and blended with a clean musk. Smells kind of like an almond scented hair mask or something like that. The more it dries down, the warmer and nicer it becomes, but it's very close to the skin after a few hours. I don't hate it, but I find this scent quite uninteresting and weak. Not what I expected at all. And I tried it several times in summer and then waited for autumn because I thought it might work better on cool skin, which is unfortunately not the case. All in all this is on the lower and of the 'okay' scale for me, not really a dislike, but for sure no like, just blah. Sorry to all fans of this, maybe they used something for the amber note that my nose just can't catch.

Smells somewhat tolerable in colder weather and headachy in hot weather. Almonds with vanilla are the main thing it is, it smells synthetic. Oriental.

This is my very polite and easy to wear Ambet perfume.The opening is Fruity-Floral but in a very clean and soapy way,Almond gives this perfume a creamy texture.Amber gives it a warm vibe but it is not sweet or sticky.It is really beautiful and I enjoy wearing it when I just want to smell amazing and not show any attitude using my scent! It is elegant and none-offensive. Mild projection and on my skin has 4 hours lasting power. Very affordable and the newer versions of it exist as well which I have not tried yet. #ladylovesperfumes

This is AMAZING. If I hadn't known this was Oriflame, I would have passed for something significantly more expensive than it is. It overperforms and shames all the extremely pricy designer options meant to be 'gourmand', 'cozy' and 'alluring' (looking at you, Black Opium, Poison Girl and the likes). The almond in this is so creamy and well-constructed, and blends extremely well with the amber and sandalwood notes. It's sweet and wraps you like a hug, makes you picture vanilla cookies, marzipan, extremely sweet amaretto, on a cold day. Like other reviewers, it has something that reminds me of Dior HP too, probably the sweet gourmand almond. Extremely classy, very grown-up without being in any way dated, very feminine. To be worn on cold winter days. Will last forever, on skin or clothes.

After having Amber elixir crystal, I had a different expectation from this perfume. It's not like that at all. sillage and longevity both are much less, and I don't even like the smell so much

powdery almond sandalwood. much too light and fluffy-sweet, not what i was hoping for. reminds me of a lot of amber incense.... and a little bit of what the body mist version of Unforgivable Woman by Sean John smells like on me after a few hours.

very vanilic, the very same vanilla note as in Dior Hypnotic Poison. It is hard to tell if this was intended as a dupe. Amber elixir is beautiful, warm, oriental, sweet on its own.

Not bad in its kind of scent but hey look at the ingredients! Full of dangerous and useless parabens, to be avoided without hesitation.
