it smells alot like a sprite

One of PDM’s quiet achievers and deservedly popular. A modern spin on the classic fougère‑barbershop profile - a touch soapy, a touch woody, always polished. The mint and ambroxan give it that contemporary lift and they actually work. It’s 100% office‑safe - corporate‑meeting armour, even. Reads unisex to my nose. Sedley is the kind of scent anyone can wear with a medley.

I like it, but it's kind of unremarkable for the price. Doesn't last very long for me and I go blind to it within an hour. Wouldn't buy a full bottle, but I'm happy I tried it. Extremely inoffensive even after an overspray.

Absolutely love this fragrance. Projection and longevity are not great on my skin. It lasts some 5 hours, and not much more, but it doesn't bother me—one of my all-time favorites.

Opening is just sprite dry down basic body wash scent, lasts 4-5 hours max

One of my favorite scents of all time. Such a fantastic fresh sparkling musky fragrance that, for me, lasts days on fabric. Projection and lasting power on skin is moderate to moderate-high though I do have a “pre reform” bottle. Pretty blind but safe and compliment magnet. Wear it 3 out of 4 seasons, perfect signature scent!

even tho I love this fragrance still the Maahir legacy from Lattafa is 95% there for 30 ish euros. its really good pdm Sedley but wayyyyyyy overpriced.

It's basically Sprite in fragrance form - just open up a new bottle and that's the smell of Sedley. Clean and inoffensive but not groundbreaking. This is also Percival-lite. I do like it as it last a lot longer than Percival.

If this lasted longer than 2 hours it could be one of the best fragrances of all time.

Sedley is a great summer scent for some. Not me. I went to the PdM store in London while on vacation and I was most hyped for Sedley. It smelled really good on the test strip, so I tried it on skin. It smelled like bug spray. Greenley is better on me. Still a good scent.

Smells great, albeit a little generic for the price. Performance is not great. 6.5/10 from me, will not be buying a full bottle.

This is a very refreshing and clean citrusy lemon lime scent. This is in combination with some masculine woody and musky notes. Great pick for the summer if you can find it for a good price. Not my favorite freshie ever but I wear it fairly often.

If you are wondering if Maahir Legacy smells like this, it does not. Not because of that being more synthetic or anything. The way this is blended, it's just ridiculous. It's just great.

@Longjohnsilvers For as subtle as it feels in the dry down, this actually has better performance than you think, it just requires over spraying(6-8 sprays) and some body heat. I suspect Sedley is incredibly overdosed with ambroxan and as a result the dreaded curse of noseblindness rares its bitter head. Begrudgingly, this has become a favorite warm weather scent of mine. I’ve just finished my first bottle of sedley and wow, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. I thought it boring and uninspiring but I kept wearing it and then it just clicked and became something addictive, something I looked forward to applying so I could bury my nose into the back of my hand to take in that opening. It’s so high-quality and natural smelling it is actually ridiculous. So well blended and non offensive, I have come to the conclusion this would win the heart of a person who usually doesn’t like perfumes. it doesn’t scream, it doesn’t burn the nose, it doesn’t fatigue, it’s versatile, it doesn’t veer too far off the beaten path. It’s definitely not gonna win any awards for being innovative or fancy but it’s definitely going to catch the nose of anyone around you in a positive way, especially in the first 30 to 45 minutes. Women really like it. PDm, your prices in Southeast Asia are frustrating given that there are no discounters available, so retail is the only way for me but that’s about the only thing that I can fault you for in regards to this subtle masterpiece of a fresh masculine modern scents. This will ALWAYS be in my collection.

Opening is true to the notes listed--Citrus, lavender and mint. Ambroxan/ambery-musk is there right away, too. Pleasant, I can see why people like this one. Woods quickly start to come out in the dry down. Leaning toward subtle in a good way, NOT in-your-face demanding it be smelled with a massive synthetic cloud/sillage emanating from you. An almost-peppery-ness is starting to come out? The sandalwood is very nice, good vetiver. Subtle florals. I really like it so far...unsure about how long it will last, though...worried about staying power. A strong like, maybe not a love.

This is a very enjoyable and easy to wear fresh fragrance. Sedley opens with intense lemon and mint, with the grapefruit really making the citrus pop. It is also clearly woody, even in the opening, with the sandalwood very prevalent early (and throughout), although giving way to the cedar as it dries down. My girlfriend likes this scent which gives it extra points for me To be honest I think it would be hard to find someone who didn't like this scent. For those familiar with GNTONIC from M. Micallef, I feel like Sedley is pretty similar in a lot of ways. Although Sedley does not list tonic as a note, I feel like I get that in this fragrance. They both open with sparkling citrus and mint combo, then dry down to more woody, barbershop type scents. I do think without a doubt that Sedley smells better in both the opening and the dry down than GNTONIC. However, where I think GNTONIC has Sedley beat is the performance, and I will get into that now. The reason I would not personally buy a bottle of this is the performance paired with the price point. This fragrance is practically gone from me unless I press my nose to my skin after 3 hours. Even right after spraying, there is very little projection and nonexistent sillage. It's a nice fragrance that I enjoy, but the performance is not acceptable given the price tag this sits at.

Barber shop after good dry down and bad performance

This is a happy fragrance for me. It reminds me of warm summer days whenever I was a kid! Its a mood booster and makes me feel a couple degrees cooler whenever I wear it. As for the scent profile, I mainly get the mint, lemon/grapefruit, lavender, a tiny hint of rosemary, and a pretty big dose of ambroxan. Everything used smells like high grade synthetics to me, giving it a effervescent feel. It also reminds me of some kind of laundry beads my mom used whenever I was little. On scent alone, this would be a 10 for me. Longevity is good for a freshie, being around 7 hours. Is this worth it for someone who would daily Sedley and only Sedley? Maybe not, $210 on discounters is very steep for the average consumer. For me, it is worth every penny as I'll mainly wear this during the summer and early fall. Take this review with a pinch of salt, as I am biased towards fresh fragrances and I typically like most PDM fragrances. But, if youre looking for a fresh fragrance with decent performance, Sedley is definitely worth trying!

If you could wear pride as a fragrance , this is the fragrance. My favorite summer fragrance I’ve ever smelt but the price is where it starts to fall. $450+ for a bottle at Nordstrom is just unacceptable for this type of fragrance. I don’t want to buy a dupe but I want to buy something that smells like this for an actually reasonable price

Remind me of PDM Percival without the Abercrombie and Fitch Fierce smell.

This and percival have weird after smells to me I don’t know why. It could be the woodiness or ambroxan but it’s like a synthetic after smell when I smell my wrists.

Sedley has an interesting profile. It smells similar to the YSL Y DNA, with its iconic citrusy body wash smell. It's a very versatile fragrance for any summer occasion, whether that be a boardwalk meal, the gym, the office, etc etc. It projects fairly well and lasts for around 3-4 hours in the air and 6 hours on skin. Some consider the profile to be boring, and yes, while it does lack the uniqueness and innovation of other fragrances from the House, it is definitely good. 7.5/10

Really wanted to like this based off the notes, but it was a miss for me. The opening did indeed have a nice effervescent quality, but in an “Axe”-mixed-with-candy kind of way. As it dried down, it started to acquire a “women’s cosmetics” feel. After four hours, I realized what I was smelling: COTY airspun powder—a drugstore staple for drag queens!

Sedley is the first niche cologne I own. I bought a bottle the week after smelling this at Bloomingdales in April. I mainly smell fresh lemon lime mint. Yes, it does smell like sprite but more natural and not sweet. I heard an influencer compare the scent to diet sprite. Perfect for summer or hot daytime.

I think I need to get this. Keep going back to sample, but never buy, always opting for something more "exotic". The thing is there is something unexciting about this, but it's the perfect gentlemanly summer scent you need and it's right under your nose. Unfortunately it took me blind buying Gusto Limone to finally realise it.
