I recently sampled this and I found the opening in perfect harmony with a late summer vibe. I loved the green and herbal hay-like warmth, I don't have anything else quite like this. However, shortly after the beautiful opening, it dried down into a fragrance which is more masculine than I typically enjoy on myself. Very glad to have tried this out - the notes are definitely intriguing and engaging! Absolutely worth a try.
Hay is strong in this one. It feels like very dry cocoa and has that rubber tire smell in the beginning. It reminds me of Chergui and Double attack from Mind games. Hay from Chergui and Cocoa from Double attack. Longevity is abysmal. I dont like it.
Opens dry cocoa tonka bean with bracing menthol that bites the nostrils. Needs time to calm and harmonize. Heady vanilla's more gourmand than I like, but hay and herbal florals provide unique contrast. Someone said bitter root. Huge difference on skin vs. clothes! Skin is warmer and cozy, but vanilla (like Shalimar). Spraying fabric gives the awesome verdant green I love. Tonka bean and vanilla are a double whammy that's just too sweet gourmand. Not saccharine or cheap, just personal preference. Wish it were more unisex.
The vanilla ruined everything. In the end, all that’s left is an overly sweet trace of vanilla. Disappointed—not to mention the price-to-longevity ratio.
It’s got a strong rooty bitter accord. It might be vetiver and petitgrain combining into a fibrous, earthy, pith‑like sharpness. Clary sage adds an herbal medicinal edge. The hay and vanilla never fully emerge; the bitter green-brown top dominates.
You know that feeling of happiness—fragile and almost scary to experience—because you worry that such balance might shatter and bad news could strike at any moment... That sweet, gentle stillness one savors is precisely what Erawan is... A green fragrance that is never harsh or acidic; it relaxes you as a dusting of chocolatey-vanilla stardust drifts down upon you... Magnificent! It is beautifully crafted—so tender. Picture yourself lying in a hayloft filled with freshly cut straw, the doors wide open, cradling bundles of vanilla pods; just relax and drift off into a wonderful nap.
It is such a summery blend and yet the performance in summer is abysmall - around 2 hours. As it aged in its container it became both green and hay-like with hints of lily-of-the-valley and petitgrain and turned sweet underneath with prominent vanilla. It aged well, I think. It is still my second favourite Dusita after Anamcara and currently before Splendiris. It is unlike everything else. Hot and windy and countryside-like. But for the performance I am well out of love with Dusita.
I have a problem. I bought a full size of Erawan and it is nothing like the sample. I adore the sample. My full size smells oily and weird. I can't return it, and I still want the perfume, the one from the sample. Do you have any advice, did this happen to any of you? I tried spraying it to let oxygen in, but nothing changed. After 3 months: my little perfume turned into a perfect concoction. Turns out is needed some time. I looooove it.
Oh how special is this one. So natural and perfectly blended that I struggled to understand what it smelled of. Until my husband smelled it and he said: it smells like that white climbing flower that grows wild in Croatia, Clematis. And he is right. It's just like that. It smells a bit vanillic, grassy, but like grass or green leaves that were out in the sun. Like a bush with flowers that has been baking in the sun and spreads it's aroma discretely. Not fresh, not crunchy, a bit dusty ( in a good way). It is very different from anything I smelled before. And there is no trace of ambroxan (yey!!!)
This is a very sophisticated vanilla, mixed with some herbs, that somehow feel fresh and powdery at the same time. It's a very elegant perfume, that is also quiet and calming. It smells like nothing else I've tried so far.
I was hoping for something green, but nothing about this fragrance said "green" to me. In fact, the persistent top note smells like cashew oil, or something nutty and oily. Overall, Erawan is quite sweet, which was another surprise. I'll pass on this one.
i almost passed on this because of the opening, very green and somewhat nauseous powdery sweet - not my type of entry, but the drydown is beautiful, grassy green herbal, floral with a hint of vanilla!! It would be perfect if its less sweet and more green
She started on the stairs going up the hillside before the sun bore down on the village in earnest, and on the path tracing the forest edge she could still feel the cool damp extend like a blanket out from the undergrowth. It was the morning after Wan Thaloeng Sok, new year's day, and there was a hush over the village. Even the wet kitchens at the back of the houses below were quiet, and only timid trails of smoke wound slowly up from the roofs, along with the faint smell of steaming rice. Most who had come home for Songkran had already returned to the city, and as if exhausted by the days of festivities, the village shrank from the approaching day. As she rounded the bend onto the hill's shaded face, she heard the voices of the village uncles, from the shack where they gathered to escape the heat. The lao khao was already in full flow, as was the taunting. 'Lovely flowers, meeting someone special?' 'Still kicking after last night? I hope this morning finally finishes you off!' she shouted back. Climbing further on the path, she passed Mae Noi, sitting at her permanent post outside her house, hunched over a large tub of ya-dong. Today's tincture was a luminous clear amber. 'Naa, on your way to the temple? Come, I have something. Take these flowers up and light some incense for Noi...' Mae Noi blinked quickly, the lines on her face widening and narrowing with her eyes. She fetched from her basket an overflowing bunch of jasmine, marigold, amaranth... 'Poor Noi, please keep her in your memory...' After another twenty minutes she arrived at the temple, perched on an outcrop on the hillside. The wind was brisk up on the hill, the treetops swaying this way and that, but when she dipped down into the narrow temple grounds the air stilled. There were fewer people here now than during the holiday, but the air was still thick with the steady murmur of voices. Incense smoke wafted from a large urn in front of the main building, and the smell of jasmine, champa, sandalwood settled heavily around her. Removing a single champa, she left the rest of her flowers in the clear tubs of water lining the hallway, the surface of the water blooming with fallen petals in diverse stages of decay. She walked to the back of the temple and lowered herself onto the slope adjoining the outer wall. She knelt beside the wall, positioning her mouth next to a small depression at its base and whispered into it. 'I know you are still in the world. Tell me where to find you. Tell me in my dreams, and I will come.' She heard something crack deep in the ground, something she had disturbed, and she could feel it listening, breathing, alert. Turning around, she lit two sticks of incense, placing the champa between them, and bowed into the wind.
Opens bitter, herbal, not medicinal, but formal? Refined. As it starts to dry down, the vanilla and tonka bean (listed by brand but not in notes) take the forefront. Soft, intimate. Brings to mind a memory of late afternoon in a field with someone I was dating in high school. Easy, languid, gentle breeze, pleasant and unchallenging. Soft fuzzy blanket of nostalgia. I don't get hay, it's mostly vanilla with some florals, cut by a touch of green. Tried a second application 30m later, and got the hay and grassy notes much better. I actually quite like this. Highly recommend trying layered applications. Less slow, more bright.
smells like a pile of moldy leaves in the fall when you're trying to scoop them into a paper bag and it's all muddy and disgusting and then you get an allergy attack
Something moldy and funky about this one. Just nah.
This scent jumps at you with all types of bright-green notes—it's meadows grass and freshly cut hay. After the intense green opening goes off, you start to feel the strong musky lily-of-the-valley note that will stay there afterwards. Generally, the scent feels like a sunny grassy meadow with small white flowers and stacks of hay 🌳🌿☘️🌼🌾 You just need to try to understand! This perfume's longevity is impressive and its juice is safe for light-coloured clothing. Don't buy without trying though—may be too intense for some people.
Reviewing a bottle from 2024. Erawan was launched in 2018. This is a high quality comforting soft herbal vanilla that feels like wearing cashmere while walking through a dry meadow. Erawan opens with fresh tobacco like hay and soft herbals. This is layered over creamy aromatic vanilla and dry woods. The florals (LOTV) are subtle and so this is totally unisex. It is not sweet ,soapy or smoky. Quality - 5/5 excellent materials and blending Unisex Performance 4.5/5 excellent (stays close but lasts) Erawan is a unique and calm beauty ; very well done as is typical of Dusita fragrances. I wear it when I need a sense of comfort and coziness. It blooms beautifully in the heat. *Parfums Dusita's Erawan (launched 2018) won the prestigious "Breakthrough Fragrance of the Year" 1st prize at the FIFI Russian Fragrance Awards 2018 in Moscow* 8.5/10
I feel like a forest elf whenever I wear this perfume. 10/10
One of my all-time favorites. The moment I first smelled it, I fell in love. It's sunlight and nostalgia in a bottle. It opens with hay, warm and toasty in the sun. Then, something sweeter comes into play; to my nose, it almost smells like sour nerds (the same phantom note I get from Rasei Fort's Kolonya, another perfume which induces pure late-summer nostalgia). In the dry down, the vanilla binds the notes together, and imparts a lovely roundness. It feels like a complete and self-contained experience. When I put this on, I teleport from my tiny garage office in L.A. to an idyllic farm where everything's sun-dappled and sepia-toned.
This one starts out very green, like parsley, hay and herbs. As it develops, it becomes soapy and a bit floral. The dry down is beautiful, though! That's when the vanilla comes out, and almost evokes a sort of toffee, blending in perfectly with the hay. It leans more masculine in the top notes, but eventually develops into a unisex scent for the base.
This is absolutely beautiful and also… for some reason it’s giving me Tootsie Roll Pop?? Please tell me I’m not alone…
Wow! A have a sample, and a few days, since I tried it. So beautiful green hay, and in the drydown, there is something sweet, which resembles me a childhood memory, the scented erasor! I love it! 😊 Later: I read a lot if Erawan, and I think it is totally unisex, and in the drydown rather feminine. I can't wait to get a 15 ml. I agree with Nikos Sculpture similarity, even if I only know the female version of Sculpture. 8/10
Nikos Sculpture with better longevity and quality.
The fragrance opens with an immediate, bracing burst of fresh-cut herbs, reminiscent of Italian parsley. As it develops, this initial greenness gives way to beautiful wild floral notes that settle and blend perfectly with a subtle vanilla dry down. The foundational oakmoss and cedar provide a complementary base, making this a wonderfully nostalgic scent for spring and summer. Erawan tells a beautiful story.
This is probably the worst fragrance ive ever tried. It smells like a mixture of stale cigarettes and the trash bin after you put a fresh liner in it. DO NOT BLIND BUY!
I got a sample of this and have tried it a couple of times and I think this is enough for me. This gets me thinking of a soap bar in an old english cottage owned by a sweet old grandma. It's not necessarily a bad thing if like that sort of things. It smells "niche" and is interesting, but nothing I would like smell like at least until i'm 87.
I’ll most likely update this review in the future, as my experience with Erawan is still relatively limited. I bought this one blindly based on the note breakdown and my general admiration for this perfume house—honestly, that’s usually how I roll (I enjoy the gamble!). That said, my initial impression wasn’t that great. Every time I smell it, I get a strong association with someone—maybe a woman in her 40s who’s been a heavy smoker for years. I really wish I could shake that perception and tune into the other facets of Erawan, because there’s definitely more going on here. The opening is, for me, the least enjoyable part. But it improves significantly as it dries down. It eventually settles into an overdose of lily of the valley, which leans soapy and quite unexpected—hard to detect at first, but unmistakable later. I’m reminded of Synthetic Jungle/Nature from Frédéric Malle. There’s also a creamy dose of vanilla, which softens the whole thing and takes it into a more approachable direction. I really want to find that beautiful hay note that others have mentioned—it hasn’t emerged clearly for me yet, but I’m hopeful that with more wear, it will. After closing out 2024 with Pelagos as my favorite discovery of the year, I remain curious about everything Pissara creates. She truly is an artist, and I’m glad to be exploring her world—even if Erawan is proving to be a bit of a puzzle at this time.
I had heard a lot about Dusita Erawan before buying it, with many saying it was the best chamomile tea fragrance. But for me, Erawan is truly impressive because of its green tone: the scent of dried hay and leaves, a captivating and satisfying green note that emerges so beautifully. It's only after about 30 minutes that I detect the chamomile, the smell of dried flowers that are being simmered. It's lush green, dewy, cool, subtly sweet, and truly striking. It has incredible longevity on my skin, lasting over 12 hours. I don't see patchouli listed in the notes, but on my skin, I distinctly pick up a damp, earthy scent after rain, which might come from the oakmoss and vetiver. This fragrance is genuinely an impressive and unique lush green floral tea scent.
After trying several from the brand I can honestly report that I either do not care for the perfumes or find them underwhelming. Erawan is a example of underwhelming. It is weak. Starts with green petitgrain and swiftly rolls into dried hay territory. There is a sweetness from some vanillin and zero florals. The entire experience is short lived before you are wondering "is that all there is?" I find that this perfume translates better on material rather than skin. Dusita does have a pretty bottle and presentation, though. ✨
