It just arrived today. It was quite warm because of the heat wave, and to my surprise, it doesn't need to sit for months and is ready to use. I am shocked by how close it is to the original. Maybe it has a slightly fresher opening, but overall it's an excellent dupe, and I am happy I didn't buy the original, as this one lasts longer on my skin. I also plan to buy Felicity. If it's just as good, then I don't have to save money.
I have it for over a year, before it had pepperry soapy opening (it even induced sneezing), that disappeared and now I only smell warm realistic vanilla pistachio, quite long lasting on me. Not sure about the florals, maybe some white and cashmerean notes, that makes it whole perfume, not just realistic gourmand.
Such a complex and polarizing gourmand. It opens on a soapy citrus shaving cream note and dries down into an icy nutty milky gelato. I’m befuddled and amazed at how much I like it. Not a safe blind buy by any means, but I’m completely obsessed with it. 5 stars. 🐛
The Yum Pistachio Gelato clones on the market fall on a spectrum from 'cold-smelling' like actual ice-cream (from a cool musk; since frozen ice-cream emits an airy musk and is less creamy) to a creamier 'melted ice-cream' smell (or perhaps a milkshake smell, since melted ice-cream doesn't sound as appealing). Here's an ordered ranking of where each falls on that spectrum. From 'coldest' to creamiest: - Paris Corner Khair Pistachio ('coldest' smelling clone; most true to the idea of pistachio gelato/ice-cream, and my favourite as a result; actually smells 'cold' in winter when there's cold air accompanying the scent in your nostrils; less realistic when smelling it with warm air) - Lattafa Affection (the most balanced between 'cold' and creamy, and is still noticeably 'cold'; if you own Lattafa Affection, you don't need Paris Corner Khair Pistachio unless you're a perfectionist for this DNA, because they're largely redundant) - French Avenue Luscious (This probably ranks here, but I'm not entirely sure since I haven't smelt it in a while and the bottle is buried under boxes. But this also adds a 'peanuts' accord, which is kind of cardboard-adjacent to my nose, and dulls the composition with the most bland/boring accord imaginable to my nose, personally. The peanuts accord ruins it for me, but this is some other people's favourite clone of this DNA because of the peanuts accord. We all smell scents differently though - there's something like a 30% variance from person to person in olfactory receptor genes.) - Fragrance World Elysia Pista Sundae (a much creamier version; gives the impression of melted ice-cream or a milkshake) I don't own the OG so I can't rank the OG for now, but based on other reviews, it might be the absolute 'coldest' smelling and some detect an additional soapiness in it. Maybe that cold-air musk comes off as soapiness to some people when they're smelling it in warm weather, as opposed to smelling it in winter? Also, I haven't tried the other clones from Gulf Orchid, Zimaya, Afnan, etc. I'm super-happy with the Paris Corner clone though, and it was ironically the very last clone I bought for this DNA, despite being the very first to market (I think). Who knew the first to market could be the best smelling (i.e. the most like frozen ice-cream), and with probably the best performance?
I received this yesterdY it probably needs more time to mature but right out of the box you get sweetness bomb after the initial sprays then after it settles down its creamy vanilla with hints of pistachios it leans a bit feminine but i like alot Performance wise it lasts the whole day with alright sillage in the first couple of hours i can this getting better as the scent matures
someone said i smelled like the bottom of a grandma's purse and i never wore it again.
Khair Pistachio smells like a scoop of pistachio gelato topped with whipped cream and served in a chic cafe on a sunny afternoon. The pistachio isn't intensely nutty or roasted; instead, it's smooth, creamy, and blended into a soft cloud of vanilla sweetness. As it settles, hints of fluffy marshmallow and delicate florals emerge, giving the fragrance an airy, almost pastel-like quality. The dry down is warm and comforting, wrapping the skin in a cosy pistachio-vanilla creaminess that feels both playful and elegant. What makes Khair Pistachio appealing is its balance - it satisfies a sweet tooth without becoming overly sugary. Think pistachio dessert rather than raw pistachios. It's also a genuine compliment-getter, with the creamy sweetness drawing positive attention without feeling overpowering. Performance on me is solid, offering around 4-5hrs of longevity with moderate projection before settling closer to the skin.
Like a soapy men’s aftershave, had to declutter
Just received this, I get the same pistachio and ice cream vibe, Yum Pistachio Gelato, however, this one is more citrusy and fresh from the bergamot in the opening. It's not that sweet or cloying, and it's pretty nice tbh, considering it was manufactured recently. It's not an exact dupe of the Kayali one, that one is more sweeter, this one is more fresh. I will let this sit for a few weeks and give an update.
Pistachio vanille, a bit more soapy forward than most. Below average sillage and longitivity.
"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" Becuase I personally die for that most hated first spray😃 I'm in love with that opening of 'excessively green, nauseous, chemical, soapy and synthetic scent that screams for an immediate wash off!' I wish could smell that opening forever! Unfortunately, the drydown turns into a boring mix of pink sugar and cheriosa 62 = cheap, basic and juvenile body mist.
The initial spray is very chemical-ish and does not smell like Ice Cream at all, huge disappointment. Once it settles I can smell the cotton candy. But that’s it. I was expecting a creamy pistachio ice cream summer type of scent.
It smells exactly like kayali. But from both I expected something more creamy and lactonic. It’s really soapy though. But it’s nice you can wear it all year around but because of the soapyness i would say it gravitates towards the summer and spring.
Mine smells very nutty and creamy. Pistachio ice cream. I let it macerate over time(forgot I had it). So it is not as cardamom scented while not being cloying. The fly in the ointment was the gold flaking off by the spray nozzle.
This is definitely not for me! I purchased mine from Amazon and I was expecting a Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato type of vibe but this smell nothing like it! The bottle that I received smells way more masculine. It’s very screechy and green upon initial spray. Too green. It almost gives off a pinesol aroma. It’s also spicy. I can pick up the pistachio but no vanilla or creaminess. Barely any sweetness. It takes about 30 minutes to dry down where it becomes more bearable but still very masculine. I purchased this about a year ago and it’s been macerating since. Theres still no difference to me. I feel like I’m not even smelling the same juice as everyone else. Why are the notes in my bottle coming off extremely different? My bottle smells like diesel fuel! Gross!!
this is a super nice pistachio-vanilla! it really is reminiscent of pistachio ice cream like the fragrance its based on. The initial dry down has an odd emphasis on the citrus notes, but after 15-20 minutes it matures into those light and airy gourmand notes i was expecting, still a bit of a shame it smells so odd for a while. For me, longevity is really great which is shocking since fragrances typically dont last long on me, i'd say i get 5-7 hours of wear from a couple sprays. Also, do avoid over spraying this one! Its actually super strong and projects a lot! I'd say its a very good dupe for those who want yum pistachio gelato without spending that kayali money!
Looking at all the notes, I was excited to try this perfume, expecting something niche, complex, and of course - a gourmand leaning creamy pistachio- centered fragrance. I was quite disappointed when I didn't get that. I have let this sit in my cabinet for about a year, hoping the notes might change for the better. It has a little. Like some have said, I still get a strong 'shaving cream' note that seems to overpower everything else, making it one-dimensional and boring. Yes it is still sweet, slightly nutty, but in my opinion, it takes a while for the pistachio to come through. I do like it slightly more after a year, I gave it another shot. It is still not one i reach for though. As a fresh out of the shower, "stay at home" scent, its nice but nothing special.
It's my 1st and last bottle, it's so synthetic at the 1st sniff and vanished to quickly, won't lasts more than an hour.
Beautiful scent, veryyyy close to the orginal and long lasting! I've only worn this once, so take this with a grain of salt, but this perfume is great! It's creamy, you definitely get the pistachio and the rum and the top and middle notes for a bit, but the dry down is mostly only warm and sweet . I've smelled the Kayali one at Sephora once as well, and it smells (from what I remember) identical, I don't know about the dry down though, because I didn't spray the Kayali on skin. Overall a very nice scent, and lasts a long time not losing the sillage! I'm enjoying it :)
This was really nice once upon a time.. but the roller coaster these Arabian perfumes have me felling like I’m better off without them lol this changed into something that isn’t appealing to me anymore. So she gotta go.
This fragrance is really cute and a spot on dupe for Kayali Yum Pistachio. I like to wear this one in the spring and summer days. This is also nice to pull during spring/summer rain. Its perfect when you want to be cute and casual. When i want to be ultra femme/posh, i layer it with delina la rose for a pistachio rose dessert or fancy rich lady lotion. Or when I want to feel girly like barbie I like to layer it with oriana or boujee marshmallow. Interesting part, ive had this fragrance for almost 2 years and just yesterday was the first time i actually smelled the nuttiness of the pistachio note. It is light, which is how i hope it continues to be because i do not like the nuttiness of EOS or Bum bum cream. Not sure if its just macerating over the years… but i will say if you’re having difficulty identifying a pistachio perfume you like i think this one might be a nice entry point.
I bought this as a man for my future girl and being curious myself with those unique notes. A maceration is a must, pre-maceration it was a straight up poison that made me immediately wash my hand. But after a month it turns quite nice but not amazing. The 30min opening is meh but the drydown is what makes it good. Its the cool breezy vibe that exactly what im looking for and it carried my judgement towards it even though I was expecting abit more sweetness in it because of the notes listed. But still a nice breezy and slight edible that i wouldnt mind sniffing my future girl wearing it. But I would say its not a safe blind buy tho.
I wanted to love this fragrance very badly. Everyone kept talking about the absolutely stunning, "yummy and creamy" Khair. I snatched it up (several months ago) and.... where is the creamy?? Where is the yummy?? It's a really nice scent, but I don't detect any creaminess. It's probably just my body chemistry, but I tend to have problems smelling creaminess in a few other fragrances for some reason. So that is my only question... where is all the creaminess? I have said the "creamy" word an uncomfortable number of times in this posting; my apologies.
There is no ice cream or cream smell, just smells chemical, like a cleaning spray. Don’t buy. I use this perfume as a bathroom spray. I think that says it all.
I agree that the opening is gross and synthetic, but after it settles it’s actually a pretty nice gourmand with a nutty & floral twist! Great price but maybe a little juvenile?
VERY synthetic plasticky opening which can be a little off putting. dry down is a very creamy nutty pistachio scent with a bit of tart fruitiness. smells like a pistachio raspberry cake, great fragrance if you can get through the opening
It's not as strong as i'd hoped and also i heard someone mention that pistachio perfumes in general remind them of the smell of a dentist office and now i cant get it out of head whenever i smell this and especially Mehwish cus it's so accurate! might need longer to mature and blend all the accords idk
Found this at tj maxx for $20. I’m not a fan of the kayali version but I was curious. It’s decent if you like this dna, but I’m not blown away. Dries down to a creamy vanilla pistachio. I like this better than kayali I’m not mad at it for $20. I’m sure it will get better with time. A nice layering scent for spring/summer.
smells good yea but i don't like this for the same reason i didn't like pink sugar: it smells like a literal car air freshener. super synthetic scent
I had been on the fence forever on this fragrance. It smells so so good!! but just not as a fragrance I wanted to smell of. I found myself picking it up often just to smell under the cap. The rich, dense, sweet pistachio is high quality for sure. I do find this to be far feminine leaning so I gave it to a co-worker as I knew she would love it. Performance and projection are fantastic!
