This smells great... it's like a fancier/classier version of the original Old Spice that your dad or grandpa used to wear. This also smells very close to Eau Sauvage Parufm (not to be mistaken with Dior's modern "Sauvage" line promoted by Johnny Depp) and considering the fact that this has been discontinued, I suggest if you have used this in the past or wanted to try it then to just get the Eau Sauvage 2017 parfum because it smells very similar. Basically, if you like the way the classic Old Spice smells then you will like this or Eau Sauvage 2017.
Amber patchouli goodness with a little myrrh thrown in!
They don't make um like this anymore! Stunning stuff! 👍
Powdery amber-vanilla-patchcouli-myrrh. This is actually a sweet soft fragrance, not gourmond, or as sweet as Prada Lhomme Intense. It reminds me a lot of Avon "Mesmerize" - the cheapie from the 90s, but higher quality. If you like that one, CK Obsession, Prada Lhomme Intense, or Tom Ford Noir, than this one might be your cup of tea. Again, it is sweet from the vanilla and amber, so if you have to be someone who likes that kind of thing with men's fragrances. I do think this leans masculine but is also perfectly unisex. 7/10 I have a brand new 10ml decant for trade if anyone is interested.
Please bring it back.
This is an interesting fragrance, it's discontinued, and I got a decant from a friend. It opens very softly for me, with a melange of different notes with a mild sweet amber with hints of saffron and tonka. It feels like a skin scent for the most part, but I get subtle hints of it through out the day. The dry down is mostly amber, patch and vetiver with a touch of suede and geranium. It's a well composed fragrance, just not something that I would go out of my way to seek out now that its not longer in production.
Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense reminds me of being on a cruise ship at night — cool ocean air, dressed up for a dinner, and everything just feeling calm and upscale. The amber and powdery patchouli notes make it smell smooth, and masculine. I can compare this to the smell of money that's been freshly printed.
WHY did they discontinue this? I love the original, but this is like the original but darker with some umph. Smells so nice especially in the drydown, with the soapy aspects of the original but added spices and incense added. Now I have to go track this down and potentially pay ridiculous markups. WHY prada? Also I don't get the Noir reference as IMO they are different scents all together.
I mean it's alright, not a game changer by any means.
This scent profile reminds me so much of Tom Ford, and not necessarily only in scent similarity, but also in style. Obviously their Noir EDP comes to mind, but also Noir de Noir and the Black Orchid line. Prada takes this style of scent and modernizes it and removes most of the stuff that would be polarizing, like the truffle earthiness for example. It cleans it up and modernizes it, yet keeps the same sense of familiarity and elegance that can only be pulled off in the evening by someone who's mature.
The best parts of CK obsession for men and Prada Amber pour Homme together. Spicy warm yet very clean and with a soapy base. Unique. Lasts forever , I put it on in the afternoon and could still ver clearly smell it on my wrist the next morning. Projects decently but not extremely so which is good as it makes this a more polite scent that is very long lasting. 10/10 honestly just like the original Amber.
I’m just gonna tell it like it is. Pancakes, Waffles & French Toast are similar and at the same time so completely different. You never hear someone offer all three to someone and they reply “they’re so similar it doesn’t matter”. Typically you like 1and when your 1 isn’t availiable you just get something completely different, not a second or third place similar. Prada pour Homme Intense is nice in every way but it IS NOT Tom Ford Noir. There about as similar as Pancakes, Waffles & French Toast
Modern and elegant incense. The perfect balance between warmth and freshness makes it feel both contemplative and formal. It has a subtle soapiness to it, but not in a bad way. Labdanum, vanilla, and amber make it sweet, warm, and cozy. Myrrh, bergamot, saffron, and florals make it clean and slightly bitter. Wood, leather, and patchouli add confidence and brutality. Very pleasant overall. It feels perfect for a relaxed summer evening gathering. Performance - 7/10 Scent - 9/10 Associations - 7/10
I'm calling it. This is going to become the new Gucci Envy in the future when it is all but extinct. Fast forward some years, and the few remaining bottles on eBay will then be selling for the same inflated current-day Gucci Envy prices. It's not a coincidence that the same perfumer created both Gucci Envy and Prada Amber Intense (Daniela Andrier). Both are absolute masterpieces. This is a true 10/10 fragrance.
Prada need to bring this back, legendary fragrance - top tier.
Say what you want - this is a luxury perfume with a sophisticated smell. It makes you feel mature and adds to your self-confidence. I use lighter perfumes during the day and these in the evenings and weekends. As it is discontinued - if you have it, you have something that others do not have. it is worth having it in your collection.
smells old school like my mother's face powder. but as a man, i enjoy it.
A very linear and straight-forward amber fragrance. If you absolutely love amber, then you can't go wrong with this one. It's warm, dark, resinous, and a bit floral. People will likely think you smell like their grandpa. For this kind of perfume I'll reach for Guerlain's Heritage. It's brighter, sweeter, and has an excellent carnation note. As for Prada, I prefer the OG Amber Pour Homme.
Having read some of these reviews, I'm honestly wondering if we are talking about the same fragrance....to use an expression often used by my 15-year old son, Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense is absolutely mid at best, and incredibly disappointing/a waste of money at worst. I blind-bought a bottle off ebay having been swayed by a number of YT fragrance influencers whose opinions I have trusted on previous blind-buys over the past year...and man was this a let-down. I sprayed it on last night for the first time and my wife said it smelled like a really cheap vintage cologne and my son (who is a budding frag-head himself) said he almost gagged upon smelling it. For me, while I don't gag, it does smell cheap to me but what's worse is that it seems totally non-eventful....there is nothing that would make it stand out in my collection....totally basic and not complex/sophisticated...and definitely NOT intense, in fact the projection and sillage is poor. The Prada Amber Pour Homme EDT (while not knocking my socks off either) is much better in my opinion. Too bad....
Doesn’t try to do too much, doesn’t scream out for attention too. Perfectly classy and not overstated it was love at first sniff for me. Amber, Myrrh and Smooth woods to a Musky Patchouli after 4-5 hours. Nothing harsh or overbearing about it and I’m extremely happy with it. If I lived in a colder climate this would be my signature scent 9/10
Just wore this one again today on a cold, rainy day. I really think this may be the best fragrance in my collection and possibly one of the best men's fragrances of all time. Deep, resinous, elegant, and just ever so slightly dirty. You have to wear it in colder temperatures though and ideally not in direct sun. That's the only way this fragrance works. But when you wear it like that, I really can't think of anything that tops it. Don't overwear this! Just break it out sparingly every so often on a colder day and you'll experience a fleeting moment of bliss.
Its okay i might buy it for the astonishing bottle that is it
A rich dark amber and leather. Beautifully blended with an excellent performance all round. Pure class.
If you enjoy the clean, soapy elegance of Amber Pour Homme, prepare yourself—Intense isn’t just a stronger version. It’s a deeper, richer reimagining. While the original is light, airy, and powdery, Intense swaps that brightness for a bold, resinous warmth brought by notes of patchouli, myrrh, and vanilla. This is a mature, sophisticated fragrance, perfectly suited for cooler weather or evening wear. That said, it’s undeniably mature. When my wife caught a whiff, her reaction was, "This reminds me of my Grandpa Jim." It’s entirely different from the original. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not my style. I prefer the OG, though bear in mind the original has been reformulated. If you're after the classic "purple juice," look for a bottle from Spain.
This really isn't anything like the original Amber Pour Homme. It opens strong, with spicy cola-like myrrh, patchouli and gasoline. The dry down is mostly patchouli, which is simultaneously cocoa powdery and earthy, like a handful of cold black potting soil. Despite the intense opening, after an hour it becomes an intimate, chocolatey, patchouli musk. I can't imagine this working in the heat, but it's nice in cooler weather. It's a nice scent overall, but the weird, top-heavy, fleeting performance issues and the gasoline note in the opening put Amber Pour Homme Intense in the "like it but don't love it" category for me.
This hits you from all angles, its very beautiful and dark, yet sexy and classy. Take the original, spice it up and put more syrupy amber! Its addictive and worth your money for sure. It doesnt smell like TF Noir, its dark like Noir, but it does its own thing. NICHE LEVEL STUFF HERE FOLKS. This is what this art of perfumery was all about...
If you have an aversion to leather like I do, get your nose on this and it will convince you otherwise. This stuff is fabulous!
It's a noir version of the original Prada amber, which has kept the base of the original amber and added elements to warm it up on a winter's night without deviating too much from the characteristic of Prada pour homme amber, I can still detect the vibe of the original Jhonson baby soap/shampoo in the background, but it's not just a stronger, longer-lasting version of the original, it's also a version for evenings/dates/when you want to feel more elegant while the original is a perfect fragrance for the office or a sunset wedding, the intense is much more appropriate for a Parisian evening, for example. The patchouli is stronger in the intense version which is reminiscent of some classic Guerlain perfumes like LIDGE and LIDG with that Cocoa (dark chocolate) + patchouli vibe even without cocoa listed. It should be called Prada amber Noir or Prada amber Pour homme pour Le Soir or something like that. Perfection My bottle is from 2013 and it performs above average, projecting close to the skin like all Pradas and lasting all day.
This is the cologne I wear when I wanna be masculine and formal. Its musky, with notes of leather and bourbon, and lasts forever.
If I was to choose a date night fragrance, it would be this. It is a dark soapy incense a bit animalic in the drydown. I am so glad to have this in my collection before it became discontinued and extremely expensive. Mysterious.10/10
