I like it. Kind of similar in vibe to Ultrared imo which I also enjoy a lot.

Era um ótimo perfume... mas depois que trocaram a embalagem o perfume ficou ruim

Olivier Cresp is a master of gothic fragrances featuring dark, earthy patchouli with hints of chocolate and dirt—and he’s been at it for a long time: Angel, Black XS, Armani Attitude, Tom Ford Noir de Noir, Kokorico by Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy Gentleman, and many others.

This had the most mind blowing opening back in the day when it was first released. I remember I was taking my friends to perfume stores just to make them smell the opening of this. It was powerful but smooth, complex but pleasant. I don’t think it has that wow effect anymore.

This smells like the token guy in a riot grrl band. He is the bassist. He is eating strawberry bootlaces. I got this in 2005 and still have the same bottle because it is massive and also I don't wear it often due to the fact that it disappears almost instantly from my skin (as do most scents). It really does just smell like strawberry bootlaces to me, it's admittedly a very teenage scent, but I like it a lot. Not sure how much of that affection is due to nostalgia. But it's a much more distinct and pleasing scent to me than a lot of vastly more expensive ones.

This one is my signature scent, and it will always but, but only the old formulations. First time I tried it back in 2005, I thought, woow, this is who I am, and this fragrance is for life. On me,it used to last for 10 hours, but new versions are messed up, and I feel dissapointed.

Анонім

I fell in love with the scent profile immediately. It's sweet, spicy, woody, and slightly fruity. Dark, yet playful. That "strawberry" accord that I smell is honestly one of a kind, and I don't think I've smelled anything close to it. But here's the bad part... As much as I really love Black XS, it's probably one of the most disappointing fragrances that I own right now. Calling this an EDT may honestly be stretching it. I've had better performance and longevity from dupe fragrances at Walmart, and I wish I was kidding. You might get 2 hours max if you spray 8+ times. All the talk about how legendary the 2005 batches were gives me one of the biggest cases of FOMO that I've ever had with a fragrance. If Rabanne released the older batches or if a dupe house got their hands on the DNA and made it perform, it would be the only thing I'd end up wearing. Now I have a $50 bottle of literal room spray .-.

I have a full bottle just a few sprays used of a 2013 batch (based on my research). It’s an amazing fragrance. I haven’t smelled another bottle of it but it smells so good that I just assume it aged well like wine. There’s no harsh or synthetic opening at all for me, it’s smooth and pleasant all the way through really impressive. And as someone young, I’m surprised every time by how much I love older designer scents compared to today’s popular designer releases. It’s just disappointing that most of them don’t last very long. This one isn’t very long-lasting either, but it’s still worth it. I still haven’t smelled a lemon note this good and smooth in a fragrance, The lemon here acts more like a touch of "lemon zest" on top, not something that takes over everything. but everything in this one just works, and it feels relevant even today. I also really love how this bottle looks, and the cap feels old-school. I feel proud to own this bottle.

I truly doubt mine is fake but I literally smell 10% of what’s described and then it’s gone

I was at a friends house occupying the guest room, and in the guest bathroom was this perfume, for the guest use. One whiff and I went out and told her, "I am taking this". She was surprised at my interest in a perfume bottle and said "Its yours". Beautiful fragrance. Feels like a whiff of a deep purple, playfully sweet flower.

@Saveria I was about to start high school and this one was the "think" and got the hype. Smell nice even today.

I used to have a bottle of this in 2013 and wasn't too impressed with it back then. I recently got the 2018 version and that one is not as aggressive as this version. If you felt this 2005 version was too brash or juvenile, the 2018 version is almost the same but calmer and more relaxed.

It was THE men’s fragrance back then - super sexy, oriental, woody, dark, but with a sweet note… Yum! I absolutely loved this cinnamon/praline/wood combo, and I even asked my boyfriend at the time (now my husband) if he wanted to wear it (he refused since he’s strictly into fresh/marine scents *sigh*). There’s just something irresistibly attractive about it. Even today, I still love it. To me, it remains a classic and one of my very first perfume crushes on a man’s scent.

Much like Escape by Calvin Klein, Paco Rabanne's Black XS is a stalwart of my perfume collection, that is always present. As soon as I use the last spray, I re-order another bottle. It is a simplistic perfume, which means it is perfect for days when I am not sure how I want to smell. It has a more rowdy half sister in ELDO's I Am Trash, but Black XS takes on more of a masculine role, whereas I Am Trash is totally unisex. When I have this perfume on, I feel like a confident, yet slightly quirky businessman, who is on the verge of making a lot of penny pounds from the sale of a fashionable nightclub. I often wear it when I am doing my tax returns, as it is neither interesting or boring - it sits in limbo between these feelings, which makes it a great companion for doing dull tasks. It gives just enough pizzaz to push me through tasks that I find dull. Or, if I am to have a quiet day pottering around my dwelling, I may also wear this perfume. I would NEVER wear it outside of my dwelling however, as I have much more interesting scents in my collection that I prefer to inflict on the world. 7/10. Nice, but very plain.

Still in my collection from my teenage years. Thought it was the bees knees for some reason. I have come to really dislike this scent. Way too sweet, sickly even and definitely an outdated scent. I have come to dislike warm sweet scents, but if anyone is thinking of buying this, consider instead something more modern like a Valentino.

I saw it in a Playboy magazine in 2005, and I bought my first perfume at the age of 13-14, and that's where it all started.I have used it for many, many years. Now I'm happy to be able to relive the memories. Fortunately, there hasn't been a drastic change in the scent, although it won't be my signature scent at 35. The scent is really sexy and masculine, and it was really special then and it is now. It's a really cool date scent for a younger generation. Another plus is that it's not a sweet fruit bomb like all the "sexy scents" these days.

Анонім

I bought it the day it was released. Super cool looking gothic metal bottle with to my nose red fruits combined with chocolate, woods and a lot of darkness. A bit feminine but didn’t care because it smelled so good. It was a banger, compliment magnet and everyone liked it. It brings back good memories. Still smells the same but the new release is a bit weaker but still very good. --update-- I picked up a vintage 2005 half empty bottle. (tall sprayer, no Puig, made in France). Very happy to have it back in my collection.

I feel like you either hate XS or you love it, and I mean how could you hate this? Sadly it doesn't work on my skin very well but damn this is one of if not the best smelling fragrances I've smelled/owned.

Black XS for Men has been with me for a long time, and even after trying so many other perfumes, it’s still one of my favorites. There’s just something about it — that first blast of citrus and sage, sharp and a little wild, immediately wakes you up. Then it softens into that warm, sweet praline and cinnamon heart that feels comforting but still edgy. Over the years, I’ve found that Black XS really fits different moods — nights out, casual days, even moments when I just want a boost of confidence. It’s playful without being childish, sweet without being too much, and always keeps a kind of "rock ‘n’ roll" energy that I love. The sillage is just right: noticeable but not overwhelming. And even now, after all this time, I still get compliments when I wear it. Black XS isn’t just a fragrance for me — it’s a little piece of who I am. Familiar, bold, and a little rebellious. Definitely a classic in my collection, and always will be.

Анонім

Not my favorite, the spice in it is really strong, it has different kind of sweetness. Overall it's very unique, I know it doesn't have leather but it's a mix of tom ford ombre leather and some other bad sweet fragrance

Skin scent instantly. Projection is lacking, Sillage is lacking. Overall this fragrance is 2/10. Save your money.

The Perfume of Absolute Seduction Ah, what a sad loss for the world of perfumery! "Black XS by Paco Rabanne in 2006 until approximately 2014" was where it all began for Paco Rabanne's perfumery and from where all the others in the XS line originated. This was a sin in the form of a fragrance, a true low blow against female resistance. It transformed into something unique and different on each person's skin, very different from the scent on the palette. Sweet, but balanced for any climate - even on the hottest days, it reigned supreme, exuding power, sex and virility without being vulgar. But the world wasn’t ready for such magnetism, and the legend was discontinued. Not due to a lack of success, but an excess of power! Black XS was an unparalleled weapon of seduction, making women lose their minds, hypnotised by its addictive fragrance. Some even say it is still secretly produced for a select few. What made it so special? Simple: it acted like bottled pheromones, clinging to the skin and exuding the scent of a virile, sweaty, and utterly irresistible man, leaving behind a hypnotic trail of desire. A spiced pineapple gourmand, with juicy, balanced sweetness and earthy notes that added a robust and instinctive touch. Made with 18% essential oils, it was pure power, seduction, and magnetism in a single bottle. The current version, Black XS (2018 to 2025) Rabanne, is a disappointing, vulgar disgrace—a complete nothing—because this one… was pure mischief! Those who had the pleasure of wearing it know exactly what I mean. Unfair. A perfume that marked its territory without asking permission. A masterpiece that should never have been taken off the market. 📧 Email: [email protected]

I'm so disappointed with this perfume , I wanted to revive old memories, all it brought up was disgust and nothing else. This is not the perfume I bought in 2010 last time, the new version is a total disaster! There are no similarities to the old version, there are no fruits, no sweetness, no longevity. Only i can smell is alcohol and dusty that's it! Longevity is about 10-15 min then it disappears completely.... The perfume is purchased on a 100% legit online shopping site The bottle is 100% original with engraving on the bottom. I threw 65 euros straight into the trash. Dont do same mistake as me !

Анонім

Worst perfume i’ve ever smelled, this is way overrated, it smells like a medecine

Анонім

So yucky, trash performance too

#1074 in my "Tour de Fragrance" For an EDT this is not bad at all. The note combination is inoffensive, versatile and attractive, and it performs pretty well for an EDT. But off the top of my head I can name three EDPs with identical notes in the same price range. Swiss Arabian "Shaghaf Men", Swiss Arabian "Al Basel" and Dumont "Nitro Blue." And if the price is comparable why would you settle for EDT potency when there are EDPs offering the same note combination at the same price point? Of them all the Dumont "Nitro Blue" is my preference as it's a tad fruitier, more citric and fresh than the others, but the difference isn't dramatic. Car pool, elevator and small office safe. Versatile for any use, any weather. But it is a moderate performer you'll want to respray midday. So I recommend you pass this up for Dumont Nitro Blue, or if you can't get that where you live, either of the Swiss Arabians I mentioned.
