I've always thought of this as a nice berry scent. But a few people have compared this to a grape jolly rancher and I think this might be the best way to explain this frag to someone. A sweet and salty grape jolly rancher with the ocean underneath it (as weird as that imagery is). It also carries that lily of the valley detergent vibe, but in a good way. As I'm smelling it on my arm, I can almost guarantee that it contains a banned ingredient called lilial (the fragrance, not my arm). Could be one reason why they discontinued it. If it's not selling well already, they likely wouldn't waste their time reformulating it. A shame. As it dries you can smell the bay leaf more (has a cinnamon-like quality) and the ambroxan. After the freshness has dissipated, this fragrance feels warm and damp, like dryer sheets (but this is in no way an insult). There's something else heavy at the base anchoring it down. And by the way, this has incredible longevity! While it's true that this is a youthful bubblegummy frag, I feel like this still has some uniqueness to it as well, with that berry or "grape jolly rancher" accord. I really appreciate the fantastic smell of this, but I am a bit older and prefer the Victory over this.
I regret not getting a bottle of this. As the other reviewer below me this did not got love until they announce it was getting discontinued there was people who hoarded a few bottles before it's nowhere to be found. I am mad at myself for not getting this and got Victory instead. Victory smelled amazing and still is but this one has to be one of the best dry downs EVER. And this was the best Invictus. Invictus Parfum is similar with the soapy but this one had a better scent!
This one got no love until it was too late. I am the only guy I know who bought this way back about 10 years ago. I remember the first time I wore it to work during the hot days of summer. It felt cloying and smothering. The scent was so sweet, salty, and sharp that it kind of alarmed me to the point that I didn’t wear it again for years. I still have most of the bottle. I am one who takes good care of fragrances. And I will cherish it.
I am still crying they discontinued this. This was my favourite perfume and they just killed it since I boykotte Rabanne , I never ever use anything from the hous again.. that was the last perfume which was good since everything is just the same shit boring
Laundry Body wash Dryer sheets Dish soap It’s decent. A dumb reach. Easy to wear, fresh and super strong. 7/10
I have had it for years and I love this. My first ever cologne. Wish they would bring it back
This one was too sweet for me at first. Whole invictus line in general was. Honestly, every PR fragrance I smelt I thought was too sweet and youthful. Couple years past and 1M lucky has now become one of my favorite cold weather scents for daytime wear and this one is becoming a summer staple. Great aquatic scent that’ll last all day. Not many others in this realm I can think of with that kind of longevity. Highly recommend but beware - this one will choke a bitch out if over-sprayed. Easy on that trigger.
This is the best Invictus, what Parfum should have been. I get this sweet mango note with some modern woody, oceanic, herbal backbone, monster projection and longevity. I don't know why they discontinue their best....
Grape soda opening with marine, salty and bay leaf drydown. Runs circles around millesime imperiale, which it shares a backbone with (although this one is way more synthetic than the latter). One of my all time favorites! Buy this now while it's still out there! 10/10 frag, very simple, but great.
On the hunt for a bottle — open to buying or swapping if the price is right. Shoot me a PM, thanks!
Probably the best of the Invictus crew. Wore it today at work and had 3 compliments in the first hour. Lasted 10+ hours and great projection. Really good juice
This is definitely one of my all time favorite fragrances but you should stay far away from it if you don't enjoy smelling sweet. However, if you are someone like me with a niche for aquatic scents, then I would totally recommend at least trying it because while it is for the most part sweet, I really appreciated the sultry yet soft mix of base notes that really add some luxurious depth to the fragrance and begin to intensify as the sweet top notes fade away overtime. Yes at the beginning of the day you might smell like a bright tropical cruise rave, but by the end of it you smell like you're lying on the beach at sunset smoking a cigarette after diving in and exploring the deepest underwater caves. It wears literally all day long and it never gets old. My absolute favorite from this house so its a damn shame they discontinued it, all the more reason to try it if you can tho, im still looking to replace my bottle
It honestly smells like garlic and old feet. The moment I sprayed it, I almost threw up a little in my mouth. Maybe it’s just my nose acting up, and if you find it pleasant, good for you! But for me… this one’s an absolute no. To be fair, the whole line gave me the same reaction, just not my thing at all.
Clean, masculine, fresh and sexy. This smells like an athletic, buff, well-dressed macho man. You can wear this anytime, anywhere, for any occasion. Not at all similar to the rest of the line whatsoever SILLAGE: wore it once to the gym and got multiple complaints about the trail it leaves. another day when my dad came home he asked “whose cologne is this?” upon arrival; I hadn’t even been near the door for hours LONGEVITY: absolutely beastly! literally lasts all day long; fights through sweat, wind, precipitation and air pollution like a knight PROJECTION: explosive for the first 5-6 hours and quite strong until its 12th hour; it finally becomes a skin scent after 15-16hrs DO NOT SPRAY ON CLOTHES UNLESS YOU WANT TO SMELL THE SAME FOR 2 WEEKS
Its so bad it smells like glass cleaner and its also so sweet.
Guys i really need Help to get smth like this frrrr
My favorite Invictus - even more than 2016 IA. Invictus Legend is absolutely SUMMER CANDY in a bottle. Forget all the notes above - with this you get a vibrant grape-orange-lemon jolly rancher type smell mingled with a warm deep simmering amber with an oceanic salty breeze and freshly laundered sheets pinned to lines and blowing distantly in the background. Its hyper fun fresh uplifting addicting and infectious. GRAPE is the dominant note in this. GRAPE GRAPE GRAPE. Grape jolly ranchers grape popsicles. A syrupy purple scent for the summer! Hyper unique. The fact this isnt' their most popular flanker AND discontinued is mind boggling and all we have to blame is the trends in perfumes and women in general brow beating us to smell like sticky bakery sick cupcake gourmands making scents like this that were popular 10 years ago (Versace eros edt era) to take a backseat. Paco Rabanne has absolutely lost the fricken plot on the Invictuses they are peddling. Their summer scent line they chose on keeping in the permanent line is literally saturated with sickening cloying bakery sticky oven cookies cupcakes tonka-vanilla like nuances. Almost every one is bakery sweet sick, or just completely synthetic and chemically smelling. Yet they still continue to refuse the release the original 2016 formula & they discontinue this. WHAT are you doing! The actual summer like releases being axed. Summer gourmands should smell like fruity drinks and hard candy - not stupid cupcakes. Invictus Legend is a type of gourmand underrated in the fragrance world - a CANDY gourmand - not a bakery gourmand. Lets get on board here with the differences because candy gourmands are far better as they don't induce drowsy droopy tired sedation. Gourmands that are infectious playful bright energetic hyper fun without nauseating you are very underrated in this community! I you are confused think JPG Ultra male (pear candy), Wanted by night (strawberry cinnamon candy), Dior Fah Parfum (violet candy). Its the only type of gourmand that goes into my collection. BOTTLES ARE DWINDLING AND SKYROCKETING IN PRICE. DONT SLEEP ON THIS.
It’s a crime this fragrance was discontinued. This was the first designed fragrance I ever owned and it was absolutely amazing. Perfect blend of sweet and aquatic, a must try if you can get your hands on it.
Having reviewed some of the Phantom line, it's now time to move over to the Invictus line. Now the Invictus fragrances are something I do have some experience with. I've reviewed Aqua 2018, Aqua 2024, Platinum, and Victory Elixir. With all of them having been positive reviews, I'm hoping that Legend will continue the trend. I know it's discontinued, but if it's as good as I'm hoping, then I wouldn't mind hunting for it. Let's get into it. Scent: The opening is fresh, aquatic, and citrusy. The primary notes I get are sea notes, sea salt, grapefruit, and bay leaf. The strongest of the notes are the sea notes and sea salt. The sea notes open up the fragrance with a big blast of oceanic freshness. It is similar to what I got yesterday from the opening of Phantom Elixir, or another one of my summertime favorites, Invictus Aqua. The sea salt note follows closely behind and marries the sea notes accord to emulate the aroma of salty ocean spray. Not too heavy on the salt, just enough to give that impression of ocean water. Up next is the grapefruit and bay leaf. The grapefruit adds a supporting citrusy note, again very reminiscent of Invictus Aqua since it shares that grapefruit note. It's not overbearing and doesn't overshadow the aquatic notes, but it is noticeable and persistent in a good way. Lastly, the bay leaf is detectable in the background as a subtly green and spicy accord to help add a bit more depth. It's worth mentioning that the dry down has a very distinct and clean "fresh laundry" accord. So much so that I would bet there are some unlisted ozonic or aldehyde notes in this fragrance, it's that strong. The dry down is sweet, woody, and aquatic. The primary notes I get are red amber, guaiac wood, sea notes, and grapefruit. The strongest of the notes are the red amber and guaiac wood. The guaiac wood takes point in the dry down with a woody and sweet accord. This note is shared by the original Invictus, and helps it to retain that "bubblegum" sweetness that Invictus is known for. Behind the guaiac wood is the red amber note, adding more sweetness in a rich and balsamic way. This is followed by the sea notes and grapefruit. The sea notes are still present in the dry down, but act more as a supporting note, keeping that aquatic freshness from the opening going albeit decidedly less salty due to the sea salt note having burned off. Lastly, the grapefruit, like the sea notes, is still present in the background as a supporting note to help retain some of the citrusy zing from the opening. That "fresh laundry" accord is still present in the dry down as well, just to a lesser extent than the opening, meaning that hidden aldehyde or ozonic note is still there. I saw someone compare this dry down to the opening of YSL's Y EDP, and that's not entirely inaccurate, to be honest. Performance: Projection within the first hour is strong at around 4-6 feet. Sillage is strong as well, with an easily noticeable scent trail. After 3-4 hours the projection and sillage were still the same. At the 7-8 hour mark the projection was light, about arms length, and the scent trail was just barely hanging on. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly thereafter. When to wear: Invictus Legend is a spring/summer fragrance that can be worn during the day or evening. This is definitely a casual-wear fragrance, and wouldn't be my pick for anything intimate or formal. It would, however, be a great pair with a t-shirt and shorts, or even to the office, provided you don't overload on the sprays. Blind buy: If you like the Invictus line, particularly the original or Invictus Aqua, this is a safe blind buy for you. It's essentially Invictus Aqua but with more of the sweetness from the original Invictus and some added aldehydic notes. Final verdict: If I'm being honest, aquatic/oceanic fragrances have been growing on me recently. Good aquatic fragrances, I should say; and Invictus Legend is one of them. The opening had a super fresh and clean aquatic feeling paired with that "fresh laundry" accord to help boost the freshness even more, making it exceedingly invigorating and refreshing. It then underwent a transformation in the dry down, bringing it back in line with the hallmark sweetness that Invictus is known for, while keeping enough of the aquatic and aldehydic vibes from the opening to set it apart. Altogether, a very enjoyable experience. Performance is about on par with what I've experienced with the rest of the Invictus line; 3-4 hours of solid projection and sillage, and lasting around 8 before fading away into a skin scent. Versatility is above-average with Invictus Legend; it'll work well as a casual or office fragrance in the warmer months, but it's not something I'd pick in colder weather or for intimate/formal settings. When it comes to mass appeal, Invictus Legend, much like everything else in the Invictus line, is a knockout. This is one of those fragrances that will undoubtedly get compliments when sprayed correctly. In conclusion, although I already own several Invictus fragrances, this is going to be another I add to the collection. It's going to be hard to get my hands on since it's been discontinued for at least a few years at this point, but it's good enough that I'm going to make an effort to find it. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 7/10 Sillage: 8/10
I think this is the most wearable Invictus. It is sweet, but the aquatic notes balanced it. I think the sweetness and aquatic notes here is more well blended than in invictus aqua 2018. Invictus Aqua 2018 has the aquatic notes, but didn't balanced the sweetness.
This is my favourite fragrance. Sweet, salty, fresh and marine scent. Imagine drinking a mango(surprised it is not listed as a note) cocktail by the seaside. Starts off really strong and synthetic, but the drydown is where the magic happens. I stocked it up for life! Victorioso Legend by Maison Alhambra is really close - 95%
My favourite fragrance! The opening is harsh, sweet and really intense. However, in the drydown imagine that you are on a beach drinking a mango (surprised it is not listed in the notes) cocktail with the sea breeze around. Smells amazing in the air - sweet fresh unique salty fragrance! Stocked it up for life!
Sweet aquatic scent. Not bad, not too cloying but it isn't fresh at all to me, so I would only find myself wearing it at night for dinner at the beach BUT outdoors. it does have the strong invictus DNA but somehow I find it very different from it, weird since CH flankers are just the same as the original just different names and bottles
Im looking to sell the rest of my bottle. I have about 80ml of a 100ml. PM me if interested, Cont US only. Sold.
I layer D&G light blue intense over this, it just balances the sweetness out and man then its a whole explosive beast on its own 😮💨
Unlike most “aquatic” or “marine” scents. I’ve smelt like ADG Produndo EDP ADG Parfum and Jimmy Choo Man Aqua. This is very much more prominent on the Salt note. And I don’t hate it, it’s different. But it still retains the “Invictus” sweet quality without being overly (Invictus platinum) and with amber and wood it smells layered well. It’s salty, sweet and a touch dark at the base in a good balanced way and through the dry down it’s actually a wonderful scent that lingers. Performance was surprising. It’s actually very long lasting. Unsure of sillage but it’s a unique and very nice warm weather scent. I’ll keep this with my ADG Profundo EDP and ADG Parfum. Def try before you buy. I got Invictus testers of the whole line in samples off eBay, Invictus, Intense, Legend, Platinum, Victory. I bought Platinum, then I bought Victory Elixir without smelling it bc I didn’t really mess with the chocolate vibe from victory, smelled very chocolate Axe body spray from the middle school days. And I was right to get Victory Elixir, and bought this discontinued Legend on eBay for $125. I sold Platinum, the boozy sweetness was too much for me in the warmer days.
I am not usually one for aquatic fragrances, except for Zoologist Squid. They do have use in the warmer months. I just normally don't gravitate towards them. I would rather wear a heavy tobacco regardless of the day. That is a default. Probably offensive to some as well. Yet, it is fragrances like this and Squid that make me want to venture out more. This one makes me a believer. Really fresh and uplifting. Performance is great. Salty, woody in the drydown. All around an easy wear for spring and summer. Now I will look at trying more similar to this. Squid would be my choice if I decided to get a FB.
Sad that this fragrance is discontinued,I loved this one because of the salt sweet marine vibe, very great for summer and is not that sweet like others invictus frangrances, the close one to this smell is the new invictus parfum but the salt note is missing is more like a soapy vibe legend is a 9/10,great for spring and summer, maybe fall
Headache inducing sweetness. Wouldn't recommend it in hot weather.
Ajmal wave is a 90% clone of this one & is long lasting too. Those who are'nt able to get invictus legend should get their hands on ajmal wave.
