This is nice, watermelon note stands out and is very green so I can see why some people say its candy like. I can say that this smells alot like feel n chill from jusbox just a bit more green. The coconut is very noticeable in the Dryden. Light and airy
I can't stand this perfume. So juvenile with bubble gum watermelon mix with calone. It belongs in the Victoria's Secret sale section, buy 3 get 1 free.
all child, no wave. Not bad but very juvenile.
its just has this heavy body spray accord to it that i really dislike but there is an allure to it because its weirdly sweet and soft but it verges into this obscure unpleasant cinnamony quality. i think this one is good with only one spray because its weirdly strong, but its not that bad, i kinda like it. the watermelony weirdness is good at points.
Like opening a bag of watermelon gummy candy. And not the sour ones, the sweet ones. Its good but definitely too feminine leaning for me unless I layer with something like Le Labo Vetiver 46 to tone the sweetness down, which is not helped by the coconut. The watermelon - coconut part is done really well and shines here, If you like that, this is for you. Performance is amazing, I actually recorded 5-6 hours of good projection with another 1-2 hours of close to skin scent.
Smells like a watermelon jolly rancher! Too kiddy for me sold my bottle today for $75 bucks.
The reviews saying this smells like a watermelon Jolly Rancher are super accurate, although there is a saltiness in the base that grounds it, keeping it from being too sweet or solely feminine (although I would not call this a unisex fragrance either). This scent performs well in heat and is not cloying. It also performs incredibly well; I find fruity summery fragrances often fade after about an hour or two, but this lasts all day with strong silage. Overall, I love and will continue to wear throughout summer!
It’s a glass of watermelon juice mixed with coconut water, but the cacao comes forward after some minutes which makes the dry down a bit leathery. It’s not strong but it tones down the sweetness of the watermelon, gives it more depth. I don’t like that but for someone who doesn’t want a juvenile watermelon, it could work.
A very well done watermelon slushie but it lasts all of 10 minutes. :/
At first I get a splash of juicy watermelon lemonade but after just 10 minutes it settles into a strange smell of watermelon rind… It’s still sweet but has this weird green undercurrent which reminds me of a full Glad trash bag filled with fruit scraps after a family party is over. Not horrible, but not something I want to smell like. Happy I got a decant first.
LISTEN i went from meh to completely adoring this i guess yeah say that this leans feminine but for me IN THE DRY DOWN yup thats hella masculine leaning and i thought this cost a lot because this is a niche house but nah this for a 50ml this cost 90euros thats just crazy like why even get a dupe? this for young me this really fits me and i need a bottle of this for more older people yeah this aint for them the smell in the opening is just a watermelon-sweetness overload which i found not the best the dry down oh... oh... oh... yeah... jolly goodness... but i guess im just gonna gatekeep this
This is a woman fragrance. This isn’t masculine at all to me. It smells like the tasty you get when you first chew on watermelon gum. It’s girly and pretty. The dry down smells like boujee marshmallow Kay Ali in sweetness. Great fragrance for someone very feminine
This is a fun olfactory treat that you don't really need to overthink. It was developed by Room 1015 as a peon to surf culture and is one of the nicest, easiest, sweetest aquatics you'll find. It really does remind me of going bodyboarding in Newquay in Cornwall when I was a teenager. The watermelon accord is one I usually find a bit challenging but here it is done very nicely and is not too sickly sweet. There is some coconut in this fragrance too but it manages admirably to stay away from bad cruise ship cocktail hour vibes and allows the ozonic and seawater notes in it to sit comfortably. Interestingly, it is nicer in the drydown. It goes down a little bit sweet for me at first and I struggle to imagine myself wearing it, but after 10-15 minutes it settles nicely. The sweetness drops off as the ambergris warms up and the fixatives in the base start to smooth and homogenise and it just feels more cohesive. It leans feminine to me but is more wearable than Virgin Island Water/Aquatica in my opinion. It is a similar DNA but not as sweet and is a little bit more complex. Like VIW/Aquatica it is synthetic but conceptually I don't mind that, or the hefty dose of Ambroxan in the base to give this its sticking power. Taken for what it is, it is nicely done and very enjoyable. The vibe is unmistakable though. A warm sun going down in amber and lavender shades. Bleached hair. Reddened, salty skin. Watermelon surf wax. Hot tea or cocoa in a battered metal camping mug as the barbecue gets going. Even if you've never surfed you know it and can feel it as though it is a lived memory. It has this generic, warm familiarity that is what makes this fragrance so charming. Three Word Summary: Sweet And Salty. Layering combination: Bois 1920 - C*nnabis or to add a nice airy top layer to Nasomato - Black Afgano. Outfit Suggestion: If I wore it it would be super casual. Shorts, t-shirt, flip flops, Oakleys. Scent - 7/10 Drydown - 7/10 Sillage - 7/10 Value - 8/10 Blending - 8/10 Emotional Connection - 8/10 Bottle/packaging - 7/10 Performance - 6/10 60/80
As soon as I sprayed this I loved it, super juicy. But once it dries down on my skin I only get a generic, masculine leaning unisex smell. The opening is so fun, it’s worth it to sample it at the very least
smelled more feminine than i thought, it smells weird ad i dont know id its like a good or bad weird. Although never bwen a niche snob my opinion is between like and ok there's something weird about it
Longevity isn’t great, but a delightful fresh summer scent. Friend said I smelled like a shower. All of the Room 1015 fragrances I’ve tried have been delightfully unique. I’ll have to try more <3
I went from "Love" to "Ok" with this one. It is in the same vein as any of the Escada`s, it is not elevated or different in any way. Very uncomplicated, sweet and summery. But if you ask me - too simple, too sweet and too juvenile. I`m missing "je ne sais quoi".
I own this and Atlantis Extrait and there is very little difference. I own alot of high end stuff and can tell there is more high quality stuff happening in Wavechild. Only if you are a snob and want higher end stuff get this, but for 9 out of 10 people just get the cheap battle 90-95% the same.
It's a beautiful fragrance, but became victim of a good dupe 8/10
This does smell like a watermelon jolly rancher but salty. I initially thought I liked this perfume but didn't love it on first scent. I prefer tropical scents for summer but this one has grown on me. It smells like eating watermelon jolly ranchers after swimming in the ocean. It isn't overly sweet which I love. I thought I would just finish my travel size but I am def leaning on buying a full size! I started going through my travel size way faster than I thought I would.
The citrus mixed with the coconut in this one is really interesting. It opens up with a very sweet and fruity smell, with the orange and watermelon being right at the forefront. It definitely dries down to more of the subtle lemon peel citrus mixed with coconut and the ambergris. The dry down is a little less bright fruit and a little bit more of that synthetic fruitiness that others have mentioned. I don't hate it but I don't think I'd want to smell it all day either.
This is literally watermelon jolly rancher as a fragrance. That's the simplest way I can put it.
There’s something in it that makes the back of my throat itch but maybe I like it
To me this smells like watermelon chewing gum. It is nice and well-made. It is not something I would reach for everyday, but it is really solid if you love the scent of watermelon. Would suggest it for the summer time.
I really like this. It’s like cold vanilla ice cream that’s salted and sprinkled with the white powder found inside a gum packet. It’s a great hot suntan scent as it’s a salty-sweet lotion scent. It shares the Room 1015 DNA of black pepper with a salted vanilla base as found in Jasmine Freak but without the additional sweet mango fruit - Wave Child is more minimalist. It’s salty warm sun-kissed skin that’s been creamed with soothing aftersun. FYI: I tried Atlantis Extrait by French Avenue and it’s meant to be a 1:1 dupe and longer lasting but it’s a much sweeter pure red (not blue) fragrance which smells like red Haribo that’s been sucked already, and there’s zero saltiness. These dupe’s are indeed powerful, but unrefined, bolshy and stomach churning. It’s the saltiness of Wave Child with the very delicate whisper of watermelon which makes it unique and wearable, it’s not a smack-in-the-face with some kid’s pre-sucked candy like Atlantis is. I don’t even like tribute bands as I’m not about rough copies. The 10ml of Wave Child is the same price as a full bottle of the candy-store-copy, so I’d prefer pocket sized refinement.
This one screams summer to me, not speaks. The perfect temperature for it is +25°C and above. I don't get any citrus in the opening. To my nose, it's straight-up candy-like watermelon with coconut water. 3-5 sprays give me around 2-3 hours on skin, but the magic happens when even the slightest breeze catches your hair and the scent comes back to life! Very uplifting, sexy in a playful, effortless, non-offensive way.
love love love! blue hubba bubba bubblegum, sweet without becoming cloying or too much!
A beautiful sugary scent with a strong opening of watermelon that dries down into a sweet coconut with ambergris, creating the feeling of sitting on a beach in the middle of summer. After 4–5 sprays, I felt like it only lasted a few hours on my skin, but several hours later my friend told me he could still smell it in the air when walking behind me. It’s not the most projecting fragrance out there, but it’s undeniably beautiful and perfect for summer. Definitely a safe blind buy if you enjoy blue fragrances with a niche twist.
This is a sweet juicy citrusy fragrance in the opening with bursts of candied dewy watermelon throughout every layer of the fragrance. The watermelon is artificial but still good. I like that I can smell that candied watermelon the whole wear time. I like this but because I own Ana Abiyeadh coral I think that fragrance would be redundant in my collection. I can’t believe musk isn’t a not in this fragrance. In the dry down I get of course watermelon, some mild saltiness from that ambergris and woods. I definitely would consider buying when my Coral runs out. The fragrance reminds me a juvenile body spray. Takes me back to being a preteen and mixing all my PINK body sprays together so I didn’t smell like every other girl in school. This fragrance provides me with a little bit of nostalgia. I feel it would be great for layering.
I think this could possibly be one of my favourite summer fragrances. It’s just a lovely blast of fruit/watermelon that gives hot weather summer vibes and it’s such an easy wear. I’ll be wearing this a lot in the hot weather but one thing that does let it down is the longevity in my skin performance isn’t great and for the price I’d want it to last a bit Ionget
