What in the actual literal Eff is going on here? It's hard to believe this is really what this is supposed to smell like. Is this even real life right now? I just have questions about humanity, and about yall's perception of reality v. mine. This got a 4.3? How? This is just as bad and poorly blended as incence 01. both just junk. Like someone playfully dipped his bucket into the incense 01 vat and poured the scum from the top directly into the Azraq vat, as he giggled himself down toward the Patchouli 01 vat to make sure it's still not patchouli, and then off to the tobacco 01 vat to prevent any actual tobacco notes from getting in there! My last SA ever will be Essence of Casablanca. It's due this weekend. I am not optimistic.
This is my first oud cologne. The leather / cinnamon note is very dominant at first. Reminds me of a licorice type scent. It’s very close to the Hugo boss absolute cologne I own. This is definitely an older man’s scent I’m only 28 but if you enjoy those notes you’ll most likely enjoy it.
I’m almost wondering if I got the same thing as everybody else. To me this is hardly sweet AT ALL. It is ROUGH, nothing smooth or creamy or silky about it. It smells dirty leathery, synthetic and just genuinely awful. I can’t stand it. I wish this smelled good, I was looking forward to it but I don’t really get anything but earthy awfulness. I had to wash it off almost immediately. Very disappointed. Wish I could experience what everybody else is describing.
A clone of Montale Honey Aoud. It opens with sticky honey smothered agarwood; this is a very friendly oud, no barnyard qualities. In the heart it takes on a cinnamony silky vanilla before dipping into an earthy leather base. This was the scent for a nice dinner out, screaming opulence and sophistication.
If you like Honey Aoud you will love this 1 as they are in the same family. Slightly sweet, dense, spicy honey, oud and leather dominant. This is such a gorgeous oriental woody gem with great longevity. Slightly more on the masculine side due to minimal sweetness but a confident woman can pull it off. Love.
Honey and oud. It’s a good combo, sweet, thick, and slightly spicy while being masculine . It can smell a bit metallic at times and that varies. 6-8/10
The best one I ever had.
Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud Azraq 🪵🍯 Just got this in and it’s a total beast. Huge blast of warm honey and spiced amber right up front, backed by a smooth woody/leather base. The vanilla makes it way smoother and less aggressively sweet than the original gold bottle. Performance is nuclear—go easy on the sprays. Absolute steal for cold weather. 10/10
Very sweet woody opening. Then transitions into spicy boozy vanilla. The dry down is spicy sweet and leathery.
Patchouli leather bomb. Smells very similar to Francesca Bianchi Sticky Fingers. Not as gourmand as one might think. Has a bit of a Vicks VapoRub opening, similar to Rayhaan Terra, likely from the oud. Sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Good for fall and winter. Definitely smells Middle Eastern—spicy, though I don't get a lot of cinnamon. The oud isn't animalic, but it's a little rough around the edges. Smells great in the air, but putting your nose right up against it can be a little harsh. 2–3 sprays is sufficient. Montale Honey Aoud is sweeter and smoother. Nice fragrance, especially for the price. I would rate it a 6.8/10 for the wintertime.
What's the difference from the Limited edition and this one?
Maybe too early, but I am not getting much cinnamon. Oud and honey, yes. One spray lasts the whole day! Not anything but cold weather appropriate.
Opens with a lot of honey but not sticky. I don’t find Oud skanky, not animalic and not that Middle Eastern. The longevity and sillage are amazing. There is a slight hint of tobacco, which to me, combined with not being overly sweet, keep the scent from going Gourmand or becoming cloying. Really nice for fall and winter, but I actually did wear it on my last vacation to turkey. Only during evening and nights and it worked perfectly.
This is something between a fragrance and chemical warfare. The first initial spray will take you into a Oud-Honey territory . But the honey is more dark and less like the honey you get from the supermarket. The Oud note is tolerable, not animalic, realistic oud, but it could still be challenging for some who are not used to it. Also the order is important: first oud, then honey. Even though they are well blended together. The Montale one honey Aoud is actually the other way around, honey comes first, then oud. This one is all very manly imo. Occasionally wise I don't really have any in my head. I do wear it sometimes when I'm in the open, with 2 half sprays. But honestly everytime it chokes me out for the first 20 minutes. Maybe it's just me, but I do not understand how people just vote this as long lasting and not eternal, because for me and everyone within a 3 meter radius definitely is. It's also comparable to Honey Aoud and maybe BBA, but definitely not Oajan. Personally the BBA is in my Hall of Fame, so I would use that one, but between Honey Aoud and Azraq, I recommend Honey Aoud simply because it feels more like a fragrance than something very penetrating.
Heavy and dense, just like some people I know. Was told I smelled like a birthday cake when I wore it. To me it's much more vanilla/marshmallow than honey but when it settles down to a warm but dark sweetness it feels so edible.
Brand new bottle, really nice.Lasts a lot. Don't know about the original from Montale, but this one smells too good.It makes me think of a Honey flavoured Coca Cola in a room where there are multiple incense sticks burning
Azraq opens as a rich, dense explosion of honey. It feels thick, resinous, and heavily textured, yet patchouli keeps it from becoming completely stagnant by adding a certain freshness. Even so, the first phase can feel a little rugged. The oud reads less like a featured material here than like a sharpening agent running through the composition. I do not actually find it especially oudy, except perhaps in a medicinal sense. It is definitely not skanky. To my only partially trained nose, it does not resemble the 'more real' oud or actual oud oils I have tried. As it develops, it starts to feel more like a tobacco-cinnamon amber fragrance without the tobacco itself. From time to time, hints of leather, booze, and a slightly musty warmth drift in and out, which keeps the scent from feeling one-dimensional. In the drydown, it hovers right on the edge of gourmand. There is something here that suggests sticky dates and baked goods, but it never turns easygoing or conventionally crowd-pleasing. Even at its sweetest, it keeps a dense, mature, slightly challenging character. A strong fragrance, though not quite the unbearable powerhouse it is sometimes made out to be. It projects well, has presence, and is very clearly built for cold weather. Autumn and winter suit it best, especially in the evening or in settings where a heavier, more assertive scent makes sense. From what I remember, it is basically identical to Honey Aoud. I don't think I could smell any meaningful difference between them. If I were only buying one bottle in this lane, I would probably hunt down a used bottle of the Montale, assuming it comes with at least a slight margin in overall finish. Azraq is rewarding if you enjoy heavy, spicy-sweet medicinal-tinted orientals, but it is not especially safe. It works well as a show-off fragrance too because it smells expensive with a challenging bite. Its annoying how long it has to macerate before its good, i believe its been sitting for alittle over and year, and now i want to wear it. Its actually insanely good and quite special, it smells a little cola like.
Simply , honey based red tobacco. Thats it. I liked it.
This fragrance is waaaay too strong. I can see how it would appeal to people who enjoy powerful performance, but for the average wearer it might be overwhelming. In a confined space, it could easily become too much for both the wearer and the people around them. The scent itself is actually pleasant, but it almost feels like it shouldn’t be worn as a perfume. It reminds me a bit of the colored powder used during Holi, or even an incense stick. I like the smell if it were in that context, but not necessarily as something I’d want to wear. If bold intense fragrances are your thing you’ll probably enjoy it.
A golden and dramatic opening, you are now a baklava. A heart of oud enters like a smooth, smoky mafia boss saying "we do things my way", whilst the spices gather around and nod solemnly in agreement. The vanilla is creamy and comforting and the leather is a biker who reads poetry. Together they say "we could be toxic but we choose elegance". If gold had a smell, it would be this. If you want to smell like a dragon who hoards pots of honey instead of treasure, this is your moment. Performance:- Projection: You will be smelled from space. Longevity: Until the next fiscal quarter. Sillage: People will follow you like you are handing out free Baklava samples.
Dayummmmmmmmmm ! The very first spray out of the box was like a shotgun at point blank . It's dark, woody, a tad spicy (probably smoky ) and almost seems impossible to wear in late spring and summer. I blind bought it and i'm lucky, I just love perfumes with such character. My first oud perfume was shaghaf oud but It was too feminine for my taste and I thought maybe oud smells more feminine, but now that I have this I understand which note was oud. Don't get it if you don't like Boss bottled absolu, or oajan not saying it has any notes matching but is has the same heart with heavy dark brown and earthy vibe. It has a very mature back bone ! Wish they switched it for the shaghaf amber infusion's brown bottle, and really wish it came in extrait version, as that would have been perfect. I can't believe I got it for 40 bucks. It's not as long lasting as I expected it to be and i didn't smell honey but again I just opened it and I believe in maceration. Hopefully it lasts long because that's important for such a good fragrance. Update: okay I do smell honey now but I don't know if it's a newer batch says 2024, it's not very long lasting. It fades within 5-6 hours on skin but stays for over a day on clothes. It's a shame since I'm totally in love with this fragrance and I wanted it to last. Also, I do smell honey now ! It's smooth and luxurious.
It’s almost 1:1 Montale’s Honey Aoud. Sweet and oudy, sometimes a little overwhelming, but definitely enjoyable. I wouldn’t spray it on a warm day tho. Projection and silleage are very strong. Easily lasts all day on my skin.
When I squeezed-out the last few drops of my second bottle of this perfume...I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't buy a third bottle. I have enough...all smells and shapes and sizes. Flowers galore, lots of ouds, coffees, cherries, vanillas, chocolates, cakes, cookies, marshmallows....and Polish Potatoes. I just ordered my third bottle. The End.
At first, I was just not sure about this, erring on the side of NO .... then it sat there for 6+ months and it turned into something Wonderful 😀 I like it a lot.
Hmm! This is… let me start off by saying I’m not a fan of oud. I don’t hate it, but yeah. It’s a heavy, luxury, deep warm scent. Not completely office safe, but it’s bordering the edge. I did receive a lot of comments about it, more than usual when I get a perfume. It’s 50/50. Let me start off, because it’s so vague at this point: usually when people on this site say something has strong sillage, my experience is almost always moderate to slightly strong. Or when it’s “nuclear projection,” I find it more strong to bordering under strong. But this time, I’m definitely the other way around. The projection of this is looooooooong. I sprayed it on a Tuesday on my jacket, and the next week, on Monday, I had my jacket next to me in the office and it dominated my desk space. I constantly smelled it, so it definitely lingers. People are saying they can smell me in the hallways when I haven’t been there in 30–45 minutes, so it spreads and it stays! Definitely a plus in my book. Now the smell, it’s superrrrr deep, warm, almost burnt sweet honey. I even got the comment, “It smells like burnt sandwiches in here.” Weird comment, but yeah. Some people said they loooooved it, others said it smells too burned. I don’t loveeee it, but it’s definitely one of the nicer cheap frags I got this and last year. It projects, it spreads, and definitely has this high quality luxury vibe to it. But to me, it’s a very sweet, warm, burnt honey (not in a bad way) oud type scent.
Swiss Arabian’s Shaghaf Oud Azraq So I decided to buy this fragrance last year on September and before I get started on my review; I will be honest my pallet is fairly novice considering the fact that a lot of my fragrances have been designer. I am also a beginner when it comes to Oud Fragrances, now as for the fragrance I have given it time to macerate and it has become a beautiful Honey/Patchouli/Leathery on the dry down, it opens with some smooth Oud and a heavy Honey, not to pungent but smooth. Now I do recommend to go through macerating, that is when the Fragrance really becomes a Warm Spicy, Honey/Sweet, and Leathery/Oud. This fragrance can be cloying on the first sprays, at first the Oud note can come off a little to strong and can seem like it’s the only note you smell, as I said give it about 1-3 months of macerating and it should blend up beautifully. Shaghaf Oud Azraq Overall Rating: 8.5/10 P.S: Layering this with SWYI is a must try!
This is one of the most beautiful fragrances I ever tried and had! Absolutely stunning, great projection, long lasting and I got the most compliments with this one.
Really very lovely indeed which was probably why it was priced higher. I can get on with this much more than Shaghaf Royal Oud, but that has a place for more serious and somber occasions.
So I have Oajan decant and this one! And I don’t understand how they smell similar or even close! In fact I do like it as an oud scent and yes I do love oud, and this one for me smells like high quality oud and thats it, no honey, no cinnamon, no vanilla, no leather no patchouli, literally nothing else but oud, pure oud! I don’t know maybe because it’s a new batch, 12/2025 and it needs maceration?! My nose! I dunno!! Performance is good, around 6 to 7 on my skin not a beast as most people say, could be my skin tho. Gonna wait for a couple of months and come back if anything changes.
