Bois Pacifique

A wonderful woody scent. This fragrance is extremely similar to ebene fume, especially with the main woody, dry, powdery note. The main way I can think to differentiate the two is ebene fume seems to lean a bit more powdery, dry, and yellow, and bois pacifique is more sweet, ambery, and orange. I think it's the perfect option if ebene fume is too dry smelling for you, as this one tunes that back a bit. Because of the characteristics of the notes, I believe this is a perfect all-year scent, and it won't be overpowering or out of place in a certain season or time of day. The notes lean more masculine but it doesn't remind me of a masculine personality like how tobacco or vetiver feel to me, I think this would be a great option if a female fragrance enthusiast wants to try traditionally male-leaning fragrances. I'm personally not impressed with how little depth of character is in the notes, and the fragrance didn't evolve in the dry down. It got weak quickly for me, as even with a solid application it was a skin scent by hour 4. Overall, a great option for an all-year signature scent, although the performance seems below average.

Love this. Coastal summer days bottled. An spicy/woody alternative and imo obvious complementary pairing (not layering but grouping-wise) to more floral forward summer evoking scents like those in TF's Neroli Portofino Collection or Frederic Malle's Lys Mediterranee (for example). Feels like they're in the same vein.

It's boozy and has deep notes of whiskey (the Irish kind). I'm surprised no one has picked up on the whiskey and rum flavours, as it smells like an oak barrel in a distillery. It's gorgeous. Don't overspray. If you know what "angel's share" is [not the perfume, the term used in whisk(e)y] then you'll love this. Case in point? I wore this on my wedding day. It pairs exceptionally well with a suit (the wedding was in summer, so it can do both!). It'll last all day and it's intoxicating. Go for the 50ml version first, it'll last a full year as it's not an everyday fragrance. Sophisticated. Classy. Exceptional.

I don’t want to smell like a tree or a giant pile of wood

Bois Pacifique made a very good first impression on me, but not in a loud, attention-grabbing way. It’s more of a quiet, self-assured kind of luxury. Right from the start, cardamom is the star. It’s dominant, dry, aromatic and slightly sharp in that refined, controlled way. It immediately sets a more mature tone; this isn’t playful, sweet or easygoing. There’s no bright citrus safety net here. It feels composed, intentional and clearly aimed at someone who already knows what they’re doing. As it develops, the fragrance softens into something warmer and smoother. The woods come through more clearly, rounding everything out into a gentler, more wearable skin scent. It’s also a very safe blind buy, but not because it’s generic. It’s just well-balanced and hard to dislike. For something with “Pacifique” in the name, it plays things almost too safe. It’s so composed and polite that at times it feels like it’s actively avoiding being loud, which is great for wearability, but maybe not so great if you’re looking for something memorable.

Spicy triple woods combo with a bit of freshness. TF did a good job of creating a scent that literally smell like being in a coastal pine forest with the sun beaming through the trees. Because this fragrance is fairly airy and not too heavy it could probably worn all seasons except for maybe really hot weather. Masculine and unique. One of the best recent releases from TF. Really nice bottle and atomiser too. 8.5/10

Cedars and oak, wood wood wood. If you like wood it is magic. It is not really on the level of complexity of ebene fume nor bois marocain. Has no incense what makes ot all year perfume.

Tom Ford's Bois Pacifique is a woody, spicy, and slightly smoky fragrance. The scent is intensely woody, which makes sense given the notes listed on Fragrantica, such as oak, cedar, and sandalwood. It also has a slightly balsamic, incense-like quality that, combined with the woody notes, evokes the fragrance of a forest. I find this fragrance suitable for most of the year,though perhaps not for very hot weather, making it an excellent choice for autumn, winter, and spring. It works well as a signature scent; it is highly pleasant and versatile, appropriate for both formal and casual occasions. Its longevity is good, lasting over eight hours on me with moderate projection during the first two hours. Overall, it is a fine fragrance, very pleasant and masculine. The only downside is that Tom Ford fragrances tend to be expensive, but I really enjoy the scent itself.

How refined and expensive it smells! The opening has a beautiful aromatic freshness, led by cardamom and dry spices, which makes the fragrance feel vibrant without turning sharp or overly fresh. As it develops, the woods become the real focus. Cedar, oak and sandalwood create a smooth, dry and polished woody texture that feels genuinely luxurious. There is also a subtle touch of incense and amber underneath, adding warmth and depth without making it heavy or sweet. Calm, confident and exceptionally well put together. 9/10

I tried this in Boots today and was genuinely impressed. In fact, it surprised me because I’m not usually a fan of Tom Ford fragrances. It reminds me of Ebene Fumé, but in a lighter, more approachable way. Personally, I actually prefer this. I sprayed it on my wrist before heading out and it seemed to perform quite well over the two hours I was out and about. I can’t really comment on the full longevity as I showered when I got home, but I could still pick up a faint scent on my wrist afterwards, which is always a good sign. Based on my first impression, this is an easy to wear, woody fragrance that keeps some of the smoky character of Ebene Fumé and adds some vanilla, orris and amber to give it a softer and more powdery feel.

Love the smell, hate the performance. This is a skin scent right from the get go, and after 4 hours it's gone. What is the point?

Spicy woody incense, done in Tom Ford fashion. Not abrasive in it's performance, sits closer to the skin, but to me it seems it's too passive of performance. Would like a bit of a scent bubble at least but becomes a skin scent within an hour. IMO an alternative (and much cheaper) to BP is Soul of the forest, which doesn't have the performance issue.

This one reminds me of my late grandpa's smell. He worked outside in the woods chopping trees, went to church burning incense to God, and was always there for me with hugs. Just because of that, it means a lot to me.

Asked for a few woody samples and upon smelling this, I fell for it like a big heavy log. I love the fact that it fades into a subtle hint. It’s warm and woody and addictive. Had I read the notes (vanilla, frankincense and amber) I would have stayed miles away, but I honestly cannot distinguish them. Not a big fan of Tom Ford perfumes in general (just Neroli and Costa Azzurra) but this blew me away and now my other Woods (Halfeti and Hinoki by JM) are too strong for me.

Honestly love this fragrance. Is it a complex masterpiece? No. Is it expensive for what it is? Maybe. But I can’t stop wearing it. It’s a moderately dry, slightly spiced woody fragrance. Inoffensive indeed, and maybe nothing special, but it feels like a warm comforting hug. It feels like home. I understand that people are a bit disappointed in this scent, but personally I’d buy another full bottle when mine runs out. And regarding performance, this is one of the only fragrances that gets me compliments, so I’m sure it projects a bit.

I don’t think the performance on this is as bad as people say. I work at a large retail store and a man came in and was smelling up the whole store with his fragrance, it smelled of cedar wood & incense. It took me a while to figure out whose fragrance I was smelling because his sillage had trailed throughout the entire store. Luckily we weren’t super busy and I found the gentleman I suspected. I asked him “excuse me are you wearing a woody fragrance?” and he responded “yeah probably” I asked him what it was and he said “tom ford boys pacific” lol. It took me a couple seconds to realize he meant bois pacifique. I’ve never worn this myself but I can tell you that in the air it smells of natural cedar and black pepper with a slightly resinous incense. It projects and leaves a trail everywhere you go whether you can still smell it yourself or not. I personally found the smell interesting and addictive which is how I ended up here reading about it and I’m just surprised at how many people are unaware how strong this stuff actually is.

I absolutely love love love this fragrance, but the only complaint I have is the performance. Normally I’m ok with low performance perfumes , only if they’re cheap, because I can spray tf out of them and not worry; however, for 165$ for a 50 ml I’m so unbelievably disappointed. This smells like a very churchy incense draped in sandalwood and I love it, but damn if the performance isn’t like a fart in the wind.

If Ébène Fumé and Costa Azzurra had a baby.

Ébène Fumé Lite, but in a great way. You're walking in the woods during Fall/Autumn, while someone inside a nearby cottage is brewing some type of hot, spiced drink. If Jo Malone Hinoki & Cedarwood or Aesop Hwyl are the green versions of a lighter resinous-woody scent, this is the orange/amber/rusty brown version. Frankincense, woods, cardamom, and just a hint of vanilla are the main things I get here. So good. Very airy and fresh for the type of scent profile it is. Perfect Fall & Winter scent for us freshie guys who don't like super heavy or sweet stuff. Performance could use some work. Projects moderately only for about an hour before sitting pretty close to skin for another 3-4. This stuff would be unstoppable if it had great performance.

Smells like sweet Coca Cola… if that’s your thing

A good fragrance but contains the dreaded akigalawood note. So, not at all for me. Annoying juxtaposition of powder and synthetic ambers that smells a bit mineralic and fresh.

This scent is so captivating that when I first sprayed it on the back of my hand to test it I kept sniffing it for hours. It's a very elegant woody scent, one of the best woody scent profiles I have ever come across. The opening has a very prominent cardamom note, the cedar and sandalwood accords give it a nice backbone but it doesn't become too sweet or heavy, so it's working well in basically any season, day or night. The projection is average and longevity is moderate at best, around 3-5 hours on my skin, lasts a bit longer on clothing. For me it's painting a picture of taking a walk in a sunlit, coastal pine forest on a warm spring/summer day. It's very elegant and quite masculine, and for me it's more dressed up than dressed down, I can't imagine wearing it on casual days, it's more like an elevated elegant outgoing fragrance or perfect for date nights, spray it on and you immediately become an elegant, well-groomed man wearing a tailored suit. I love this scent, I know there's a lot of complaints regarding the performance, but for me the scent profile compensates for the longevity and I don't think all perfumes must have beast mode projection either, it's just a very high quality fragrance that's unique enough to keep it in my collection.

Bois Pacifique is a very calm, elegant, and expensive-smelling fragrance. It is not loud, not aggressive, and not trying to get attention. It just smells clean, woody, warm, and very well put together. To me, it smells like warm wood, soft spices, and slightly sweet dry air near the ocean. Very smooth and very relaxing scent. It feels mature, confident, and understated. This is not a party fragrance and not a club fragrance. Office, meetings, dinner, everyday signature scent — it works perfectly. Performance is moderate on my skin, but the fragrance sits close to the skin and smells very elegant. Not a beast mode fragrance, but that actually fits the character of the scent. Very classy, very calm, very confident fragrance.

Bois Pacifique is all about smooth, refined balance—warm woods, soft spice, and a subtle creamy sweetness that gives it a sun-warmed feel. Slightly dry, never harsh. Everything is blended seamlessly. Nothing stands out, nothing overwhelms—it just works. It wears closer to the skin in a more understated, refined way. Performance complaints haven’t matched my experience. On well-moisturized skin, it lasts and develops nicely. There’s something familiar about it—warm, grounded, a bit nostalgic. Nothing feels out of place. Signature-worthy, easily.

I keep testing this out at stores, and it just doesn’t capture me. Not sure what to enjoy about it. Maybe one day it’ll make sense to me, at the moment it’s a pass.

This is my dream scent. Like a sweet cottage in the woods or... one of those nordik spas. Love this so freaking much. Def on the wish list. Clean, fresh, woody, and i love smelling this on myself.
