Tobacco Oud

What makes Tobacco Oud fascinating is the contrast between its different sides. There is a dry and serious character at first, but as it develops on the skin, it becomes smoother, warmer, and more polished. That transformation is probably the most enjoyable part of wearing it. The scent creates associations with old wooden interiors, leather accessories, aged books, and a quiet evening atmosphere. It carries a classic masculine spirit, but it does not feel outdated or stuck in the past. For me, the strength of Tobacco Oud is not in trying to impress immediately. It feels more like a fragrance that reveals its details slowly, showing different aspects the longer you spend with it. Tobacco note feels more realistic than I expected, it is not a sweet, dessert-like tobacco. Instead, it creates an atmosphere of old wooden furniture, dry leaves, a luxury cigar box, and a subtle touch of spice.

best fragrance ever. smells somewhat mysterious in a way. 5-6 sprays last about 8+ hours.sometimes i smell it on me after a day of wearing it. Tom ford needs to bring this masterpiece back

Wow, this one was disappointing to say the least. Skimmed through some of the reviews below mine, and was relieved to discover a lot of my reaction was shared by others... But not the main fault: this - at least on me - is POWDERY. Powder, powder, powder. It's like vanilla-whiskey-scented baby powder. I kept wondering if I was going noseblind - it is just SO faint! - but I really think projection/sillage is just... nonexistent. On me, anyway. As someone below stated, there's not much oud OR tobacco in this! I can't believe anyone would pay $400 for this when there are $40 alternatives that smell better, stronger and more faithful to their name. PAYUSSSSE 🩶✌️

First impressions on first wear yesterday..... weak, indistinct and over hyped. Not much Oud scent, not much tobacco scent, not much of anything with a dash of boozy note that ruins it all anyway. My dad gave it a try too...his opinion was "whats this supposed to smell like? it doesn't really give much of anything" I agree again...i don't get the hype for this one. Its all a bit of a nothing and performance is poor also, 3 hours at low projection. Its not a scent of oud and tobacco, which was the reason i wanted to try it because i love oud and tobacco. Missold, misrepresented, mediocre and minimal. Not to mention hugely overpriced. Not a surprise its been discontinued. 3/10 for me

Tom Ford stamped "oud" on it because oud moves units, but the oud is the least eventful thing in the bottle. This could have been named Vanilla Cask, or Spiced Reserve, or Amber Bourbon, and every one of those three describes the experience more honestly than the name it received. You come for the oud and stay for the vanilla, the tobacco, and the warmth they build together. There's no normal day where this scent makes a bit of sense. You'll buy it anyway. You'll reach for it on the nights you wanna feel a touch more dodgy than your everyday life lets you, and on those nights, it's worth every daft quid..

I have a dupe 100% oil roller, apply it to my wrists before bed smells amazing. whole bed smells like the stuff after a few days; girlfriend glues herself to it.

Got lucky to buy the last 50ml bottle from an online fragrance store, still checking maybe to get a 100ml bottle. It's a masterpiece, amazing longevity!

@Perfumeart-NL He sold his namesake to Estee Lauder a couple years ago, so the likelihood of there ever being another great fragrance like this again, from the Tom Ford brand, is highly unlikely. I have an unopened 100ml that I will keep and cherish for ages to come

I agree with Perfumeart-NL This is a Holy Grail Fragrance I would have bought a bottle of the 50 ML if it wasn't so expensive. I hate buying small dinky, bottles that don't last AKA Terroni by Orto Parisi Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford is one of the best, but sadly discontinued gems on planet earth, Aliens if they exist are most definitely jealous of this creation. Words cannot describe how good this DNA smells. Could be better than Plum Japonais. Just fantastic, phenomenal, sensational, extremely, extremely addicting. Why the hell did Tom Ford discontinue this Masterpiece? 10/10 The best of the best.

Suggestion: Can we, as the world biggest fragrance community, step up and visit ifra or Tom ford? Or maybe both:p? And ask them politely to bring back all the good stuff like; Tobacco oud, tobacco oud intense, oud wood intense, plum japonais etc…. And also make all the private blend stronger like the used to be! Because it hasn’t been that long ago (2018/2019) that I sprayed oud wood and it lasted about a week on my clothing. And of course I’m not even talking about the first batches (2007/2014), those were like spraying pure perfume oil:p. Or the first time I sprayed Tuscan leather, never forget it had a sillage round 18 hours….. I really miss those moments… Ps…. Of course I would like to see this for more brands and perfumes like Gaultier2, Dior homme intense, Dior homme parfum, bvlgari pour homme etc…..

Iconic tobacco-spice beast mode powerhouse with rich, smoky masculinity that's legendary for winter dominance. Extreme longevity and projection. Winter king in cold temperatures. One of the best TF along with Oud Voyage.

A less expensive alternative would be Oud Boulevard…. Very, Very similar.

I'm a fan of old school Tom Ford. Got this because I heard it was being discontinued and wanted to see what it was all about. I'm happy to report that it is 1000% classic Tom Ford at its finest. If you love Black Orchid, Ombre Leather, Noir Extreme, Noir de Noir, Tobacco Vanilla, Tuscan Leather-- that whole era of classic Tom Ford fragrances-- this sits right there with those masterpieces. And has amazing longevity as well, unlike classics that have been reformulated like Oud Wood and are a shadow of their former selves.

Pure authority in a bottle. The tobacco and oud profile is rich, dark, and sophisticated. It’s the ultimate choice for a date night when you want to leave a lasting impression.

Thought Royal Tobacco by Amouage would replace this, I was dead wrong. This and Overture are my sacred duality of choice when it comes to fragrances. This is beyond, I wish I could one day see Olivier Gillotin up close and thank him.

The name already tells you exactly what this fragrance is — tobacco and oud, with a heavy smoky character. I respect people who enjoy this style, but it’s definitely not my taste. It makes me think of a room filled with older men smoking cigars and drinking whiskey — very bold, very masculine, but not something I personally enjoy wearing. Performance is strong, with good longevity and noticeable presence. Maybe you'll need a second shower to have the smell completely gone! This is absolutely not a blind buy, and I strongly recommend sampling first! The scent will either work for you or not at all.

This so close to being great. Almost too dark. Kinda wish it had a bit more spices or vanilla to round out the darkness.

Tobacco Oud isn’t just a scent — it’s a status. Dark, dry, smoky woods with a serious, authoritative presence. I loved it enough to buy a second 50ml as a backup and I still won’t touch it… because if the discontinuation rumours are true, this deserves to be hoarded. This is not a “teen clubbing” fragrance and it doesn’t do playful. It suits people who carry weight: calm, composed, disciplined — the type who doesn’t need to raise their voice to be listened to. Worn by the right person, it reads as leadership. I wear it solo most days. But if you want to turn the lights down and dial the menace up: layer with LV Ombre Nomade. That combo is tailored-suit authority with a dangerous edge. For a cleaner, leather-jacket polish: Ombre Leather works surprisingly well.

I got this as a gift from my Uncle, the bottle was leaking, but despite that this scent was overpowering and AMAZING. I really wanted to buy another one ngl... but then i realized it was discontinued, so I have a bottle that is basically broken and they took this away?? Genuinely one of my fav from the collection, I could hardly say that Tobacco Vanille smells like this... The way I would describe this scent is that it is strong, manly, and confident. I definitely do think this is one of the best date fragrances out there and it has got incredible performance compared to the rest of the collection. I loveeee this scent, I do not use this often as I live in a hotter side of the world, BUT I would layer this with something weaker and I would say it "works" depending on the situation. This scent overall is extremely situational, I truly think Tom Ford really messed up with this one being taken away and I wish it stayed. If I could say what this smells like: It definitely is not very oud-ish, and if you did mess out on it; get Ebene Fume, it is the closest to it scent wise, mix it up with Tobacco Vanille and you quite literally get this scent. I will be very concise: This smells like tobacco, vanilla cinnamon, spices, and a strong incense, it's quite pleasant and not abrasive in the slightest.

This out of the whole tom ford line is what I liked most and they took it away! This is something you want to use as a base for another cologne. 1-2 sprays max layered with another cologne and you’re good to go!

This is the most complete Tobacco fragrances that I've ever smelled. Any other nice Tobacco based fragrance out there has the element of extra sweetness to balance out the Tobacco and make it more seductive or mainstream. This one on the other hand is mostly about Tobacco and spices as they are. I would have named it Tobacco dance because of the magnificent drydown. It is polarizing as it actually should be, this is the ultimate statement maker. It's a type of fragrance that you'd associate with your own personality and character and if you actually receive compliments and acknowledgement when wearing this, it's also your style and character that is being also complimented, though for me it's not that important to receive compliments but it's worth noting that the way this perfume would be received is very different than like what wearing Herod/Tobacco Vanille/Tobacco Honey ... would do. Overall if you love Tobacco you'll most certainly love this one but if you actually need all the sweetness and gourmand essence to help you like Tobacco I assume this would be challenging.

The opening is strikingly boozy, reminiscent of a freshly poured whisky. Alongside the whisky notes, there's a distinct sweetness from the tobacco—specifically, the aroma of unsmoked pipe tobacco. Within a couple of minutes, I began to notice the emergence of cinnamon and other spices, including cloves and anise. This spice blend brings to mind a cozy hot toddy, which I found quite appealing. The heart of the fragrance is where it truly shines for me. About half an hour in, I could sense a deepening profile with the introduction of incense and oud. While the oud is certainly present, it avoids the overpowering skankiness sometimes associated with it, thanks in part to a smooth vanilla that develops during the drydown. In terms of performance, Tobacco Oud does not disappoint. It creates a pleasant scent bubble around me right from the start. The projection is strong for the first two hours and remains noticeable for up to eight hours. I was still catching whiffs of it on my skin even ten hours after application. Surprisingly, I found myself thoroughly enjoying this scent. It evokes memories of a trip I took to Israel a couple of years ago, where I relaxed in a cafe in Jerusalem, indulging in the smells of hookah smoke and the spices from the market. The experience of wearing this fragrance brought those moments rushing back, wrapped in a blend of Middle Eastern spices, tobacco, and whisky. However, it's worth noting that while I loved this scent, my wife had a different reaction. She found it too spicy and likened it to an old man's fragrance from the 80s. This poses a bit of a dilemma for me, as I’ll likely need to reserve this fragrance for occasions when I won’t be around her, as I do want to enjoy it more often.

Love it, but *note to self: One puff is enough...
