In my 20s, I didn’t understand this fragrance. She was too grown for me and I thought I was grown because I understood Black Orchid. Now in my upper 40s, I get her. She is so gorgeous. I wish Tom Ford’s apprentice would revive this.
Looking to sell a brand new bottle of White Patchouli. UK shipping only
this is a hell of a perfume. the ad with Erika Badhu hits it right in the stomach. it is a bombastic and at the same time supersophisticated perfume. I thought it was a brilliant follow-up to Black Orchid. they have the same personas. and being very different. although the patchouli didn't loose any of its fatty, earthy, inhospitable aspects, this is all being caught by the flowerworks (peony, white flowers, jasmine, rose) , the spicey aspect (spices, ambrette, incense) and the woody finish that fits seamlessly to the patchouli. this is a more ladylike version of patchouli perfume as Noir Patchouli from les Histoires de Parfums (which is also brilliant). the flacon is to die for. Tom Ford had still a lot to do but for me he was already the hero (with Karl, Gianfranco Ferré, Donatella and Gianni). I whore this perfume to the hospital to be operated and it was strictly Verboten to wear any perfume. yet I spritzed. before the operation the nurses started swooning 'oooooh what is that smeeeeel ?'. yes it is me, I reposted. isn't it a Gents scent ? they asked. no I am such Gent who wears ladies' perfumes. and they got their spritz. smashing, unforgettable, personal and presentist. (new, april 2026) next to the Edt as above still mentioned I have the Edp possibly from 2008, but if I remember correctly it was my 2nd bottle, still from 'Tom Ford Beauty', perhaps approximately from the 2010s. the perfume smells exactly as I remember and I ask myself if it then already were so sublimely macerated from the start because this scent is what draw me in immediately. 'patchouli' as a perfume accord I have to learn (not to appreciate) to recognize while I am from 1957 and surely must have smelled ALL the patchouli's there were in the 1960s and 1970s. my memory isn't thát good but faintly I seem to recognize a 'troubled, dusty, cellar-like smell' which didn't bothered me then as it neither bothers me now. with Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense (2018) I finally came around to recognize the Patchouli smell. my straight twinbrother loves Patchouli and had the best Patchouli-perfume: Patchouly Indonesiano from Farmacia SS. Annunziata (c 1990s). here the note is so well blended but lends it imposing scent upon the other notes to concipiate that domineering, austere yet ultrachique perfume which mesmerized me in 2008 and still does as I spritzed it on again after quite some years. it is because I have so much bottles of perfume that some perfumes dwindle to the background mostly because of the false assumption to be frugally because it is such dear perfume to me. and yes, with Black Orchid and Blonde Violet, and later with Black Orchid perfume (the golden bottle), and already liking all Tom Ford did with the revamping and pornographing of Gucci ca 1995, I cherish this perfume with my Life. I have a feeling the Floral Notes are all fused together in syn(es)thesia and the Spices of Coriander and Ambrette give it a further spikey lift. the most amusing thing with this perfume was that you weren't allowed to wear perfume when you were operated upon (and I was a nurse for 45 years AND w(h)ore perfumes during my entire tenure) yet I went in the Operating Theatre with White Patchouli and already the nurses reveled before the operation on the ward with 'What is that smeeelll ?'. but in the Operating Theatre they must have been in narcosis from this heady and Imposing perfume while I was 'away' on the propofol ...
Collector/ enthusiast. ♻️swap &/ or 💲, references, admin to quite a large & active frag group, smells better than the day I got her. All of my fragrances are stored in a huge cedar ‘Hope chest’ (a dead tradition it seems). I have likely smelled over 1K fragrances in the last decade & I have never smelled a fragrance that is so cold, bold, & ‘in control’ as she. She fortunately was produced with ingredients just as strong & resilient- made before TF fragrances changed most if not all its fragrances to seem more ‘watered down’. She is SO potent that I would advise moisturizing your skin to the max, deciding where you are going to spray- before doing so put an excess of cream, oil etc on those sites & only then spraying over top of the thick layer of whatever emollient(s) & gently ‘stamp’ on another site primed but not with an excess of product. I use pulse points. I will only spray once on a wrist & transfer that perfume & product to my inner elbow gently working the product into the wrist & inner elbow w/ just that wrist & elbow. Repeat on the other side then assess after 20-30 mins if possible as she blooms & radiates so very much & you may not want to choke yourself & others out. I usually finish with a spray to the hollow of my neck & I am more than sufficiently scented. I know I am going on … & on but she is special & I want to share what took some time to figure out so her precious discontinued juice isn’t wasted. The bottle is absolutely iconic, there will never be another in that stark opaque white lacking a fleck of ‘paint’. An art deco bottle that is a must have for TF collectors of Black Orchid & her flankers as well as Velvet Orchid, makes a display of these together pop. Bottle is pristine in every way lacking a single scratch on her glass or metal. Her fill line is mid to high ‘shoulder’ before the bottle moves into the ‘neck’. I am offering her in ♻️swap preferably- I will entertain 💲offers as well. I have not had occasion to wear her, she is the ultimate ‘power perfume’ perfect for interviews & high stakes executive meetings & the like. Perfectly unisex. Feel free to email me at- [email protected] Naturally i have pics a plenty & i will send a picture with a current nameplate dated the day a deal is struck 🙂 Post script- she is a 50ml bottle w/o her original packaging which I tossed in favor of more protective packaging. I can send my list of fragrances I am rehoming female, male, unisex. Discounts & combined shipping available
My all time favorite patchouli dominant fragrance! Masterpice! Second in line commes Beach hut from Amouage.
💫⭐️✨🌟SWAPPING PRISTINE 50ml *I no longer have much use for a ‘put together’, ‘power fragrance’, I’m an in home caretaker now & it is a family member so it really doesn’t get much more informal. Besides, I’m no longer ‘a lady who lunches’, or goes out for dinner &/ or cocktails… I am a homebody who can’t leave the house for even 10 mins, if I must leave the home then i either have to arrange for a sitter or hope that the few people I know who do as I do are providing care for an ambulatory client- that way they can relieve me for a time & I do the same for them when they need in turn. Aaron Terrace Hughes is my favorite fragrance influencer- he has far more perfumery related knowledge & practical experience (his scents are amazing & they command a VERY pretty penny). Watch his YouTube review… he isn’t an influencer that believes that if you don’t have anything nice to say- you don’t say anything at all. That’s just dandy for laypeople buts literally defeats the whole purpose when applied to REAL, unflinchingly honest product reviews. I digress. I enjoy really playful gourmands that aren’t photorealistic or entirely juvenile… I’m not here for all the skin scents, not every frag need be nuclear ☢️ BUT I do expect above average performance all around. I also enjoy ‘moody, dark, atmospheric, otherworldly’ fragrances- I’m not interested in fragrances that remind one of a hundred other fragrances- doesn’t need mass appeal. I would venture to guess that no more than 6-7 mls are missing. I have images & the fill line comes all the way up to the curve to the neck really starts- the ‘shoulders’ of you will. She has unmatched quality, that typical of TF fragrances from over a decade ago & is every bit as beautiful as the day first sprayed. Stored in a dark, cool hope chest. Open to all manner of offers- like everyone else I am going to focus more on offers I feel match the trade value of this bottle. I am an ebayer w/ 100% positive feedback, over 650 total transactions over the course of 23+ years & will be happy to share my ID where you can message to confirm I am the owner of the account if we may have a potential swap in the works- nothing firm necessary. I’m a collector but wayyy before I started collecting. I was trying to get my hands on a fragrance to replace Jovan ‘Fresh Patchouli’ … I obviously wasn’t so focused on the cost a decade + ago… I was SUPER disappointed when I got White Patchouli, so much so that even with a total fragrance wardrobe in the single digits I didn’t come back around to her until she magically materialized while I was cleaning… unfortunately still wasn’t wanting to wear her. At this juncture in my fragrance journey I had sworn off florals. What I wanted in a fragrance back then is too difficult to characterize, I have taken her out every 9-10 months for the last 3 years & this time I didn’t put her on my skin as I ALWAYS do with EVERYTHING. In a collection of over 100 bottles (I have averaged a bottle a week now for about 2.5 years. This is one of the top 3 most potent parfums in my collection. She is cold in nature- great ‘power perfume’. She is not romantic or cozy or warm… she makes me think of what it might feel like to stay is the most fancy, marble mausoleum for 24 hours. I am not a freshie fan, not in the least. The way that this perfume has retained every note without any degradation in a decade since it was opened really is amazing & males me long for the Tom Ford fragrances of yesteryear. I don’t have a single other perfume that I find similar to her. Longevity is amazing & silage from 2 sprays on a tee? Crazy… she screams quality & the inclusion of some fine raw materials that I wouldn’t expect to find in fragrances that aren’t astronomically priced in 2026, really is sad. She is not my favorite… HOWEVER I have such respect for her bold & spicy refusal to change, I hope that she keeps this facet of her character for decades to come, I do fear that if I start using her more- that she will degrade more quickly as when there is more room in the bottle for oxygen, that is usually how it goes- BUT, she’s not ‘every other perfume. I can’t bear to re host the juice in a different, smaller flacon (a beautiful art deco milky white bottle that I don’t anticipate TF using again -but I will try not to forget about her & take her out more than once a year… I mean if a spray or 2 on a tee will truly last a day & then some… she may age much better than I! A sobering thought indeed
This is genuinely just such a stunning fragrance.
This is an ultimate old money fragrance. Below the knee pencil skirt, silk blouse, wide brimmed hat, sunglasses. I had a 10ml decant. Or I thought I did. The tragedy has struck. I decided to wear it today because I finally felt like dressing up and not looking like a homeless person for a change, took it out of its case and discovered that it leaked all over the container leaving me with measly 1.5ml! Damn it, I should have bought it a year ago, when I wrote my previous review, and it was still available from fragrancenet for like $100.
Fresh, modern, and elegantly well structured with just the right amount of interesting touches. Lasts well and is pure class. All things her copy-cat pal Gris Dior tried to be, and failed at. In all seriousness I just can’t stand Gris Dior but this lil number hits the spot for a fresh, crisp and interesting take on patchouli. Nearly 20 and still relevant. Happy to have this gem.
Simply love it. It has this "feel good" sensation and is sophisticated at the same time. Really good for summer :)
Fluffy musky old fashioned patchouli. Sappy timber and a pinch of flowers. Comforting, dominant yet feminine.
This one’s definitely a favorite among folks who aren’t even usually into Tom Ford fragrances. I only just remembered I have a bottle that's over 95% full. Given how wild the resale prices are, I figured it had been discontinued. If interested please reach out, I’d rather sell mine directly to someone who’ll actually use and enjoy it - it's about 10 years old.
classic gin and tonic with a slice of lemon in a night out, where jasmin is bloomed. love patchouli, puzzled with this one. female fragrance? unisex towards male. not sure...
I love the coriander in the beginning. However what suprised me the most was the drydown - the drydown on my skin smells like Dior Gris. I love it.
I managed to get a large bottle of vintage White Patchouli, and oh my god!! If you're a fan of Gucci Rush and Agent Provocateur Signature, you'll love it. White Patchouli is such a smoky, incense patchouli, with a hint of white flowers, freshness of coriander 😍😍😍
I’ve always loved a good patchouli scent, and White Patchouli by Tom Ford is such a chic take on it. Created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, it opens with fresh bergamot and coriander, then softens into a gorgeous heart of white flowers and rose with a touch of incense. The dry down wraps you in smooth patchouli, woods, and musk, making it elegant yet so easy to wear. If you love patchouli with a modern twist, this one is a must-try!
Bit sour blend of patchouli and amber. Few people complimented this scent, suddenly scent fades very fast leaving animalistic version of jasmine
White Patchouli is a rather linear scent yet quite memorable. It reminds me of the agent provocateur signature scent and the vintage edition of cabaret by gres especially on the drydown. Surprisingly, if you spray on fabric the rose-musc combo reminded me of the vintage eau de toilette of Narciso Rodriguez for her! That's nice! A soft memory! A sweet memory that lingers for hours! It opens as a sharp rose chypre with ghostly references to the 80s rose chypre accords of, e.g. vintage Knowing by estee lauder, la Perla by la Perla etc...nice, better on a woman for sure! I would call it 'Grey Patchouli' instead, with the additional soft pink rosy hairspray nuance 🩷 like a soft rosy bubblegum or soft rose candies lingering on top of grey patchouli! Hello, vintage narciso rodriguez eau de toilette, I missed you! ❤️ That rose- patchouli Musc accord with a hint of nivea cream! Maybe this perfume could be the portrait of a woman, the main protagonist of a movie, and tom ford has proved his point as a good cinematographer! This lady would be a straight up bossy woman that wants respect or even imposes respect intelligently. Her presence says it all, the way she is dressed, the way she walks and talks, and that's when she interacts with others, because when she is at home with her man and children, she is warm, happy, loving and sweet, a rosy sweetheart with a Texan accent! I love this scent and it is my current signature scent ❤️
Does someone know when was this discontinued. I found one with batch code saying produced 2023
I love this, it makes me happy. I love patchouli and this is perfect, light not dirty or heavy. Enveloped in a beautiful fog/fug of it, delicious. Coming to the end of my 2nd bottle.
Not impressive.
Like new only missing 5-7mls from testing, I was hoping for patchouli & got none so I put it away in my hope chest & forgot all about it! Found it recently & tried it & it smells every bit as fresh & new as it did the day I bought it… 1.7 oz 50 ml bottle. No wear I can see with the naked eye, still looks & smells brand new… I’m looking to swap for something more my taste nowadays… if interested send me a message 🙂 … I have proof of successful facebook group swaps & I’ve had an eBay account for buying & selling for the longest with 100% feedback. Many pics & I’ll take one with my name & the date as a nameplate to prove that I have this item with me ready to swap & ship. We would each only pay the shipping for our current bottle to get to their new home
One of best from TF. Very classy and versatile. Longetivity is great too.
A very clean creamy patchouli perfume. Smells really amazing. Absolutely gorgeous.
To me this is a patchouli bomb, an explosion, really, and I am here for it. I love, love, love patchouli. I had a sample of this around 12 years ago and I adored it. I completely forgot about it until a couple of weeks ago. I did not remember what was the name or the brand because back then I wasn't much into perfumes, all I remembered is the patchouli overload. I ordered several heavy on patchouli samples and immediately recognized it. It's heavenly. It is so, so classy and elegant. Frankly, too classy for my ragged self to buy a full bottle, but I do now have 10 ml sample.
I never thought coriander could smell so good. White patchouli is a total unisex fragrance with a very unusual take on the patchouli which it makes it feel kind of exclusive and luxurious, I can feel the coriander and peony very well blended with jasmine creating a creamy effect on the scent, I can totally picture it like a creamy patchouli, I know it sounds weird but that's how I like to perceive it. I imagine myself wearing it at a daylight wedding party decorated full of white expensive flowers while drinking a silk stocking cocktail.
Fantastic spicy, fresh, modern patchouli. Created in 2008 but smells very fashionable. Develops gorgeously in hot weather, but use it sparingly. I mostly feel coriander, peony, jasmine, ambrette, insence and patchouli here, blended to perfection. It is strong and charismatic, but never harsh. Signature worthy, very very unusual in a good way. I feel a similarity in style of WP with Moonlight Patchouli from VC&A.
I really like this one. It is sexy, unique. I think if you like jasmine, you should really try it out.😍
I can’t detect any specific note as they all blend into one lush, opulent, classy rich smelling symphony. I think I smell like a divine desert wearing this - mind you not sweet in the vanilla sense. This is my new signature scent! I cannot get enough of and you get 8-9 hours of this beauty easily. Love, love, love
