Probably more well made than a lot of niche frags. Woody + Patchouli + Rose + Floral notes are very well blended and really nice. Decent longevity and projection as well

This is better than Bottega Veneta

I actually bought this perfume to add depth to Rose Tonnerre. I made a blind buy, decided based on its notes, and bingo! The choice is very successful from the first moment. It is hard to describe the scent. When I first spray it, a dominant scent of freshly cut wood comes. Afterwards, I start to get the tonka bean along with patchouli. I don't like tonka much, it feels a bit like cheap sweetness to me. Fortunately, tonka doesn't come and settle in my nose for too long in this perfume. Contrary to the pyramid, I start to get rose in the base notes, not in the middle. A clean and fresh rose, but also slightly soapy at the same time. The interesting thing is this; when I press my nose to the place I sprayed the perfume, I don't get the rose. I only get the rose in the presence of a light wind or air current, if I don't press my nose to the perfume. It is almost as if the rose is hidden. Very nice. My husband hates rose perfumes, yet surprisingly he liked this perfume. I can say it is definitely unisex, even genderless. If we took out the tonka I would probably be happier, but even in this state, it gets full marks from me.

Moonlight Patchouli is one of the most refined and wearable interpretations of patchouli I’ve come across. From the opening, the patchouli is clean and polished, nothing earthy, dirty, or overpowering. It’s paired with a subtle cocoa nuance and soft woods that give it a gentle warmth without making it feel heavy. As it develops, the fragrance becomes incredibly smooth. There’s a soft, slightly powdery quality that blends beautifully with the woody base, creating a scent that feels balanced and composed from start to finish. What stands out most is the texture. It’s rich enough to feel elegant, but never dense or overwhelming. Instead, it wears close to the skin, creating a refined and personal scent that you keep wanting to revisit throughout the day. This is not a loud or attention-seeking fragrance. It’s quiet, sophisticated, and easy to wear, perfect for someone who appreciates subtlety, balance, and smooth composition. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 6.5/10

At first I didn’t like it at all, fast forward a year later it’s started to grow on me, I agree with a comment below it brings to mind the smell of a forest at night, I also think it’s very versatile

Of all the black bottles of Van Cleef this was the standout winner for me. One spray and I am immediately surrounded by sophistication and beauty all around. The women at the counter who smelled it agreed with me. I brought home a bottle and very well pleased with this one . Wore it in winter and early spring. I feel very sophisticated with it and the scent remained moderate all evening which was very fine with me.

Beautiful fragrance strong notes but not overwhelming

Got this scent a week ago, and have been wearing it pretty consistently to figure it out. At first I found patchouli to be a bit overpowering. But gradually I can sense the rose as well as the woody and leathery/suede notes, coming through it and it is a really beautiful scent. It reminds me slightly of Eau d'Iparie by L'Occitane, that I used 15 or 20 years ago. I'd say it's more colder weather friendly, quite feminine without being sweet, and to me at least, a bit witchy. So far I love it.

So enchanting! Moonlight Patchouli is an elegant, introspective fragrance. It's dark, quiet, and earthy, like a gentle breeze infused with the scents of a forest at night. There's also a touch of an otherworldly glow, as if carrying the Moon's mysterious luminescence. It has a velvety texture, like dewy, soft moss. I'm in love.

If I had to pick only one perfume, this could possibly be the one! It’s so universal and absolutely beautiful, perfect patchouli scent, very elegant, reminds me of autumn leaves. I love that I can recognize all the notes, even if I consider it smooth and well blended at the same time. The longevity is 8h on skin, on clothes it lasts much longer.

Got this scent on a whim, because the shop did not have Rose Rouge I wanted at the time... And it became the best buy ever. It is the first time I am buying 3rd bottle of the same perfume. It never gets old! Sophisticated, neo-vintage style scent, that makes you feel like a main actress in a black and white movie. Not too 'in your face' so suitable to wear both at work and during an evening visit to the theatre. This one will stay with me for a long time.

Thought i was going to dislike this one due to the presence of rose, and when I first sprayed it on paper, my suspicions seemed all but confirmed. But the patchouli kept drawing me in, and im glad it did. This smells fantastic, it's sensible and refined, but sexy and daring. The rose is unobtrusive and blends well with the woody and leather accords, which is not something ive come across but save for a few times. Excellent job, could be a bit stronger but otherwise this is a top notch frag. 9/10

Анонім

I didn't like how rose is overpowering. I probably would like if only iris was in middle notes.

Анонім

This is the most beautiful patchouli—sultry and elegant. The cocoa emphasises the texture of suede, while the rose gives a seductive twist. I get so many compliments when I wear it, from 'sexy' to 'a forest nymph' . It projects a lot, but it will never choke you; you will be noticed, it's enveloping, like the most luxurious velvet cape.

Анонім

Really nice, truly unisex. Complex and well blended but the patchouli still shines through.

Moonlight Patchouli is a wonderful unisex fragrance. Very classy and alluring, and it performs reasonably well in a gentle manner. Very classy, indeed. I agree this is very similar to Gris Dior, specifically in the drydown. So close that it's redundant to own both.

I’m about to finish my sample; this is a beautiful fragrance. To me, this house is a true price–performance champion. It’s the patchouli + powdery sweet rose pairing, but patchouli takes the lead here. It doesn’t scream like a siren, yet it throws its weight around with quiet authority. Joined by bergamot, it becomes a noble, aristocratic patchouli. In the drydown, a superb suede note emerges; neither barnyardy nor paint-like, but the softest, most pleasant kind! Also a powdery element is there. Dark, gothic, and deep in character. Tag(s): Dark, gothic, gothic-talc, suede

(don't know why but) proud to say, as of yesterday, I'm a full bottle owner of this masterpiece. I tried it for the first time on the 30th, went back for another round on the 2nd, and got it ordered on the 4th. it had been a very long time since I gave the full price to a perfume and not buy it 2nd hand. but this one, ladies and gentlemen, is exquisite for those: - who LOVE a well made rose, and a well made Iris, and never knew that God, somewhere over the rainbow, actually created a man that created a scent which combines the best two flowers when it comes to perfumery. - who have no idea that perfume can be done in a way that makes you feel you're smelling an elegantly scented cloud of luxury, and not a fog of chemicals. I don't know how, but Van Cleef & Arpel's fragrances introduce you to a world where perfumes are not chemical bombs, but very well blended, high class scent masterpieces. Might be the first time I want to own 3 different perfumes from the same brand. I have the night time version of this and Bois Doré as my next two perfumes to buy before the year ends. Try them all, you won't be disappointed. This is a very mesmerizing cloud of intense, captivating rose that soon makes its iris take the stage. the leather and cacao come later but they make those two incredible notes land on a luxurious couch, tieing the whole combination to turn into an exquisite fragrance. the sales advisor was a male and told me he already finished 4-5 bottles of this to this date. called it a "suit & tie" / "black tie" fragrance. I personally got it as a very previous Prada Iris and Narciso EDT (black cube) user that fondly completed both bottles at the time. This is the higher end and impeccably made version of a combination of the two, without the harsh "wet wipe" vibe of Iris, and the tendency to be cloying of the discontinued black cube Narciso. The bottle is heavy. Very minimal and again - feels expensive. I love everything about this. If any of the notes I made on it got you interested, believe me you can't go wrong with this. Get yourself a bottle too and thank me later. Cheers UPDATE - 4 MONTHS LATER: Ok this became quite boring and I quickly grew out of it after not that long of a while of having this perfume. I don't use it for 4-5 months now. It's definitely more of a "suit & tie scent" for me too. Put the bottle aside, I'm planning to hand it over to someone I feel is worth being passed down to. Looks like our journey had to be a short lived one.

A wonderful patchouli.. perfect for night time.. this can be addictive to patchouli lovers.. I don't know about the longevity, I found it to be moderate but I loved it

Анонім

Some deity must have blended these notes to create the perfect fragrance for the night. As a great lover of patchouli, I may not be entirely objective in speaking about this perfume, but it truly lives up to its reputation. What bothers me is that this type of scent has been used by stores to freshen up their interiors, and I’ve often smelled something similar in them — but that doesn’t ruin the impression that this is a perfect fragrance. Final rating: 10 / 10

I haven’t been lucky enough to smell Moonlight Patchouli but I just received Emir Patchouli No. 7 by Paris Corner and if the OG is anything like No. 7 then I completely understand why people love it. It is all I was hoping it would be.

Анонім

this would be sooooo good without the rose note. i love the patchouli in this but the rose is a little too strong and kills it for me. the rose unfortunately makes it feel "grandma-y" :/ very mad about this. this kinda smells like ombre nomade sans the oud, imo. its not terrible but its not for me. if you like rose fragrances though, this would be good.

Iris is my favourite note. And the iris in this is perfect. This fragrance is probably my favourite of all time. Soft orris and pale leather combined with the softest wood. Sits close to you, lasts maybe 4 to 6 hours. But it's beautiful. Its the only fragrance I regret not wearing when I put a different fragrance on. Ticks all my iris boxes and makes my brain tingle. A huge love. When I finished my first bottle I went a long time before replacing it and when I smiled it again I was shocked. Such a beautiful perfume. Almost everything I have been looking for

Анонім

Id say this is good but not great. Leans slightly feminine, doesn't project too hard, inoffensive is probably a good way to describe it. I enjoyed it but wont be rushing to buy it again.

Анонім

I bought it yesterday, its beautiful, sensational and elegant, works for both men and women BUT, it’s very weak and it disappears 2 hours after spraying. Scent-wise its very good but in performance i wouldn’t recommend anyone buying it

Анонім

Very interesting, a really fancy fresh rose bouquet with the earthy smell still there and some greeness. Theres also a chocolate undertone to it, smelt on strip and liked it a lot.

Анонім

The perfection in creating this fragrance is totally noticeable the balanced blind of Bulgarian rose and iris...smooth and silky u can sense it with each sniff then feel it in your soul. its unusual how it starts soft then goes intense it can take you in an addictive mode in minutes can't stop loving it, Over all 9.5/10

I blind bought this and it smells so bad omg. It made me nauseous. I will never buy perfumes that contains patchuli again

I love Bottega Veneta and have been testing the "Reminds me of" fragrances to see if I can find a replacement that's not discontinued. I definitely see the comparison here but somehow Moonlight Patchouli makes a similar scent profile blandly pleasant where BV made it rich and intoxicating.
