Some perfumes become part of your everyday life. Others become chapters you never want to forget. Good Fortune will always be that chapter for me. It reminds me of a version of myself that wasn't afraid to shine a little brighter - to wear bold lipstick, laugh a little louder, and embrace life with open arms. Every time I wear it, it feels like opening an old journal and finding a page that still makes me smile. Warm, comforting and quietly radiant, it carries a happiness that doesn't need to prove itself. It simply exists. Over time, my taste has evolved. I discovered fragrances that feel more like home, softer and closer to my skin. But that never diminished what Good Fortune means to me. Not every perfume has to become your signature to remain unforgettable. Some become treasured memories. And memories, unlike trends, never go out of style. Whenever I reach for this bottle, I'm reminded that every version of ourselves deserves kindness - even the ones we've gently outgrown.

while this fragrance has a pretty simple note composition and performance, with its heavy jasmine complemented by a lightly spiced vanilla, i have grown to really enjoy it for what it is in contrast to its witchy, mystical presentation and marketing. i am normally aversive to jasmine-forward scents as my nose picks it up as “old lady”, but strangely with this perfume i don’t really get that at all. as the perfume developed over time, it accrued a slightly stronger performance with a slightly deeper vanilla, which is enough for me to consider repurchasing as i am reaching the bottom of the gorgeous bottle. some fragrances do simple really well, and i think this is one of them.

It is really a nice everyday perfume with enough longevity and projection, main notes like a jasmine, light vanilla and lightly spiced up by fennel, sort of light peppery touch. Nothing spectacular but it is solid perfume, very versatile and pleasant with enough presence for every occasion and not really resembling to any other, guess it is the fennel note that make a little difference and special enough to distinguish from others. It is a strong like.

This is Gothic, mystical, dark, earthy vanilla. I like it alright.. just not quite enough. there's this green muddy hue around its aura that I find both intriguing and still hard to cozy up to. very crayon like.

Initially it smelled like the inside of a Sephora, but as it dried down throughout the day, it smelled like incense to me.

I don't like this perfume, but I disagree that it's simple or generic, or that it lacks personality. It's a strong herbal scent that does smell mysterious and somewhat dark. I smell fennel, herbs and fruit, but not a lot of flowers and definitely no vanilla. It gets sweeter quickly on my skin and the drydown is calmer and smoother than the opening but it still doesn't feel like something I'd wear. Still, I can respect a polarizing fragrance and I can imagine someone loving this because it is unique, but that person is just not me. I am glad I only bought a sample and wasn't swayed to own that beautiful bottle.

Smells like liquid shoe polish

i wore this a couple years ago and i really liked it and my manager told me i smelled like fruit loops LOL

This is very medicinal to me. Like a berry cough syrup. It’s quite sweet but a tad spicy. Dark fruits. A little dated.

My partner describes this fragrance as "vanilla, love, and warmth." It's simple, attractive, and although it's definitely floral it's not overpowering at all. I find that it wears very well on my skin, and it has actually become my signature scent because I wear it so often. I am disappointed that it has been discontinued, I ordered 3 bottles and hope it keeps well. I love the fennel in this! I know fennel can be polarizing, but I find it inviting and warm when it settles on my skin. It feels like a floral spring morning upon application, but after a few hours it fades into an evening fall vibe that is cozy and comfortable.

This is suited to cold weather I think. The floral ( jasmine) is very nice way a bit strong on this, But not on the negative side. I don't have any idea what Fennel & Gentiana smells like but the jasmine is very prominent here. Wore this to a wedding recently & I like it. I'm.using my 10ml bottle sparingly & just wished Viktor & Rolf keep this up & don't discontinue it. Its a good alternative to Flowerbomb in my opinion. 😉

Exceedingly white powdery floral. Typical "old lady" scent, though it also brought to mind a freshly sprayed bathroom, or scented trashbags. A heavy scent with strong projection that settles into a powdery water smell. A very cheap smelling jasmine and I didn't get any vanilla notes on my skin, which is unusual for me. I don't get the cigarette smell that others have, per se, but there's definitely something over-processed and hazy (as opposed to traditionally smoky) about it.

I like this, but it’s not a love. My skin soaks it right up so I can’t smell it much on myself, but it does make a delightful scent bubble in the air! I don’t think it’s groundbreaking, but it’s very pretty. If you’re not a floral gal, or a gourmand gal, you may like this! On me, it is a pretty “your skin but better” kind of fragrance. So if you like that kind of fragrance, you may enjoy this. It may project more in warmer weather, though I haven’t tried it then. The opening does remind me a bit of Marfa, but as it dries down it doesn’t. The bottle is adorable. I’m glad I only purchased a small one. I enjoy it, but it doesn’t stand out that much to me. It’s a bit too subtle for my personal tastes. Also, I thankfully don’t get the cigarette smell! I’m glad I tried it!

What a delightful and stunning floral scent. Feminine, versatile and long lasting. Plus bottle is to die for. Just divine. 10/10

I do like this perfume, but there are a few things I've learned having worn it a couple times now. 1. Do not spray on clothes. This is absolutely delicious on skin. On clothes, it ends up kind of stale-cigarette. Like my an apartment where people smoke inside then try to burn candles to cover the scent but it doesn't really do the trick. 2. Spray lightly. The opening is light and bright and smells like you could not get enough of it - but it opens up and gets strongly jasmine/incense pretty quickly. Get naked, dance through a little cloud of it, and that'll do it It is a nice cold weather scent (on skin!). You do NOT need much. I don't love having to 'use it correctly' and, at this point, I wouldn't buy it again - but having experimented enough, I do enjoy it for what it is. The elixir is far better IMO (although also another beast, but it's so yummy)

Elegant floral oriental that lasts quite well, but unfortunately has really poor sillage. Gorgeous bottle, and even though some classify it as "generic", I disagree. It has something extra, perhaps the fennel or gentian? that make it stand out. I love it!!

I had the elixir and I hated it, smelled like cigarette smoke. I sold it luckily. I like this one alot better and probably should’ve gone with it from the start. Very Jasmine heavy, that’s definitely the star of the show for this perfume. Sort of reminds me of alien goddess intense in that sense. I do wish it stayed how it opened, I prefer the opening to the dry down. It almost has a fruitiness to the opening but the fennel comes out in the dry down and overpowers that sweetness . It’s a like not a love, I only paid $60 for a full size and travel spray giftset so I can’t complain. This perfume isn’t at all what I expected , I expected it to be far lighter than it is and it’s definitely noticeable and can be strong if you go crazy with sprays. It has pretty solid longevity on clothes so that’s a perk. I think it can grow on me over time. Not sure which season this would shine in to be honest. It’s definitely a warm floral and I could see it being headache inducing in hot weather

This is a gorgeous, warm jasmine heavy scent reminiscent of a strong cup of jasmine tea. Very homey and seductive, and the fennel makes it very autumnal. This perfume is extremely seductive and definitely a bedroom scent, perfect for warming up on a chilly autumn night.

I thought I'd like this because I'm a fan of Mugler Alien... On me Good Fortune is loud, screechy jasmine and fennel? I don't get the sweeter notes much if at all! It just doesn't mesh with my skin chemistry, I guess! It's unfortunately a pass from me ;;

Certainly smells like a designer fragrance. Floral but grounded, almost a neutral smell. Jasmine comes through the most to me. A fascinating note combination on first appearance but it all ends up blending together.

Absolutely no fennel or gentian, just a straight up jasmine opening. Synthetic at that. Then, a synthetic vanilla drydown. I really don't like this. It's suffocating!

Pleasant sweet fragrance. Nothing too crazy or complex but just a nice scent to wear in the colder months. Slightly cloying from the sweetness and I would definitely steer clear of it if you dislike jasmine- it might give you a headache.

I've been reaching for this more and more the cooler it gets outside, but just make sure you test it on your skin before buying. I bought it after only testing it on paper, and the scent completely changed with my skin chemistry. On paper it almost had a minty quality to it, but on me it turns into a vanilla-y, sweet, floral-y scent that I get wafts of all day. Not complaining at all, though~

I am not sure where I was before and how I missed this masterpiece but was able to score a 50 ml bottle and totally obsessed. Longevity is great and even though it is not something groundbreaking it is very unique. No need to even discuss how gorgeous the bottle is!

Personally I do not get any vanilla at all. Just pure jasmine and fennel. I own it and enjoy it but do wish the vanilla was a bit stronger and the overall vibe a bit more spicy. Super easy reach though in my opinion. Mainly bought it for the bottle lol

simple but smells so good~ the vanilla and jasmine blend together beautifully with a slight citrus touch. love the bottle too!

a spicy floral smells a little old ladyish to me.

I think this is my favorite V&R scent. It is very versatile, good for any season and has excellent longevity. The notes are gorgeous and not overpowering, something the other V&R I've had/smelt can be at times. It sits well on my skin and is the only V&R I've purchased from a sample because I liked it so much.
