Basilico & Fellini

Perfect for summer with the basil and fig nicely balanced. Don't get any violet here and performance is as you'd expect for what is primarily a summer fragrance.

A fresh green spicy fragrance dominated by basil. There is a subtle fig undertone that adds a touch of sweetness, but this remains primarily a grassy aromatic scent. It occupies a similar space to Venise and Fico di Amalfi, although this leans more towards herbs and spice. Distinct and well done, but not something I would personally wear.

Nice! I like this a decent amount, you get a good transformation as it develops.

Got a sample of this with a larger purchase, which will make it make sense why it is present in my house because I do not like this frankly. The basil starts out strong, you can almost even perceive tomato leaf with it, quite woody, aromatic, and a little deep, rather than fresh. It continues from there to settle into a, for me, rather distasteful Star Anise scent that takes it from a heavy spring to a light autumn. It is not what it intends to be, I don't think. Even at its freshest, it is still a heavy, woody scent, and at its deepest, it's still lingering on primaveral. Very in between worlds. I am sure this will work out well for some sweet fairy person, but it is not me.

powdery green, not substantive.

Delicious fuzzy fig but with overwhelmingly powdery violet. I don’t get basil. An hour later, it has gone very sweet, with a dry, spicy, hinoki-like powder. Too much for hot weather.

This was my first big perfume purchase and I don't regret it :) It smells wonderful, juicy and ripe. I first smelled it at a department store and when I finally got around to looking at the listing online I was surprised to find that peach was not listed as one of the notes? To me it smells a bit like peach schnapps, like fresh yellow peaches macerated in honey and basil.

Absolute love! Bright fresh green basil opening that settles into a semi-sweet fig on my skin. I definitely get the anise that others are smelling as the scent develops, but that's actually from the basil note - basil and anise share an aroma chemical that gives them both the scent we associate with licorice. I love that this fragrance captured that aspect of basil, although some people might not care for it. Longevity isn't great on me, but I'll happily respray this one.

Extremely green opening--the basil is very fresh and forward. There is a sweetness underlying the green scent that goes from a light, fresh, fruity sweetness (pithaya) to a more robust, warmer, earthier sweetness (fig) as it develops. The scent profile of this one seems to change a lot depending on the temperature and/or where I spray it; when it's cooler, and on a wrist or even elbow crease it remains fairly grassy green and fresh; in the heat, and on my neck or anywhere that goes under clothing, where it's warmer, it becomes a much earthier-sweet fig scent over time, with only a hint of green remaining. I prefer it in the heat; without the development of the warmer, sweeter fig notes, it reads quite masculine.

Basilico & Fellini in unpleasantly vegetal. It smells like rotting grass, spoiled basil, and sticky-sweet fig jam. It's celery gone wild, too ripe tomatoes sweating in record-breaking heat, fertilized vegetation on the brink of root rot. Vilhelm has created masterpieces, but this scent is not it.

Oh my god i love the opening. The basil offers a unique green spiciness that you can’t help but keep throwing your nose into. Unfortunately on my skin this goes straight to licorice.

very green and cool! grassy and leafy and outdoorsy. the basil definitely stands out and gives it a savory edge, i don’t get much sweetness even with the fig and pitaya. i appreciate the scent for how unique it is but i think i’d prefer it in a candle rather than wearing it. the closest comparison i can think of is philosykos but it’s tart where this is savory. i have a sample of purple fig from vilhelm parfumerie as well, curious to compare the shared fig notes. faded from my wrists after about 2 hours, with faint whiffs coming from my neck still.

Reviewed from sample! Whoa, this is GREEN on first spray. Right away it smells like fresh sweet basil then something floral (maybe violet). It’s like a garden got distilled down into a fragrance. As it dries down it still smells green but more grassy (sweet grassy) and with a hint of fruit. Moderate sillage and longevity. Very unisex scent imo.

As fig scents go this is probably the brightest and happiest I own. I have about 20+ fig fragrances and this is not redundant to any I already have. It is, as many have remarked, very green on the opening. The fig is faint until about 20 minutes or so and it then comes through. It's not terribly long lasting but I love it so much I don't mind reapplying. It's not a nighttime or date scent but surely close enough to office safe. It unisex and can be worn about at any age. Really universally likable which confuses me that it isn't rated higher.

I sprayed this this evening and it reminded me of my philosykos in many ways. It’s a lovely summery scent for those who prefer fresh green scents to coconut sunscreen ones and feels refreshing and cool. I don’t necessarily think you need to own both although I do (this was a blind buy) Unisex but try before committing as I suspect this isn’t for everyone

My nose gets a slight hint of liquorice/aniseed

Sharp basil herbal scent. Very green, pleasantly so. Fresh cut grass. A fresh chiffonade of aromatic herbs. Airy, summery. A lovely runner-up to Diptyque Philosykos.

Great for fresh cut grass lovers. This reminds me of herba fresca (Guerlain aqua allegoria) because of that, but without the mint. I would almost say gourmand.

This is the most expensive not long lasting perfume while being quite unique. I cannot believe how poorly it performs. I bought it because it smells like nothing I have ever smelted. Super unique and easy to wear, but boy oh boy it just does not last at all.

Such an interesting basil opening that’s gone after 20 minutes, and then it’s basically just Philosykos. Nothing wrong with that, as it’s lovely, just doubt you need to have both

i absolutely adore this scent, its so green and basily, but it doesnt last for very long on me and seems to fade somewhat quickly. i havent smelled a lot of other green/basil scents, but this has no comparison to the ones ive tried. one of my top favourite summer scents

sweet basil - accurate and nauseating

- On Paper: airy and bright green fresh basil - Hints of something sweet, I thought tomato but it’s fig - Made my mouth water and think of margherita pizza - On skin: starts off almost like unsweetened black liquorice - there’s a darkness on me, like wet hay (Vetiver/hay notes?) - Quite spicy and savoury Moderate longevity, intimate projection, unisex.

Smells like star anise. Not a fan.

so yummy and summery. has a very spicy herbal basil and licorice/fennel scent but its brightened up with a little sweetness from the dragon fruit. this feels like im out in a garden picking herbs i’m obsessed

Vilhelm Parfumerie have managed to transform these traditional summer scents of basil, mint, and freshly cut grass into an amalgamation far more impressive than the individual parts. With incredible projection, Basilico & Fellini is a surprisingly nuanced and lovely scent which is most definitely not for everyone - as I was very much against this on first test. However, it grew on me, and is now a staple in my collection.

Very much smells like the notes listed! Right away I get basil, mint and fig. It's a very energetic, fresh scent. I personally don't see it leaning masculine or feminine. it's truly a unisex fragrance. This feels very, I just traveled to the Mediterranean, I'm dressed cute AF and excited to explore the city.
