XJ 1861 Renaissance

I just got it today and i am very happy with my purchase. Its very citrusy, with it being heavy on the lemon and orange. I am a huge fan of citrus fragrances and this one hits the spot. Its unique enough to be recognizable but still fairly mass appealing. Its a nice citrusy slightly green fragrance that feels very high quality and refined.

The patchouli ruins this for me. Smells like herbs rubbing in darm earth

For me this starts really nicely, like Nio and Torino21, but by the time it dries down it smells a bit too much like generic old man scent. It could be Brut or Paco Rabanne like my dad wore in the 90s.

Incredibly realistic and natural smelling creamy citrus. Very luxurious and soothing with great performance. Italian summer vacation in a bottle!

The more citrusy version of Torino 21. To be honest I love Torino 21, but sometimes i feel the mint overwhelming. Renaissance is more balanced and the citruses come very easy on the dry down with the rose and the amber. Loved it from the first smell!

dammm i thought torino 21 was good well certainly hell naw really its the same dna with that citrus and mint but renaissance oh boy... first thing is that its way less synthetic and alot more depth than torino 21 and yes you can buy a 50ml of torino21 if you dont want a 100ml which theres no 50ml renaissance sadly the differences: torino 21 is more herbal with a little bit of lavender and is lacking some notes in the base which makes it dead center unisex but is also very synthetic renaissance is more cleaner and smooth with a tiny bit of florals and is woodier with a hint of patchouli which makes it a little bit masculine i mean i dont mind smelling herbal but i know alot of people who dont like to smell herbal and i really suggest getting renaissance over torino21 but at the end of the day renaissance just smells mostly citrusy and minty which is quite basic and so is it really worth 200 euros? really ill just let you decide

This is such a good scent. Imagine the best lemon cream you tasted, this smells exactly like that, key lime pie filling vibes. I got a sharp lemon opening and a really creamy dry drown. Aprox 8hs, and even after shower i could still smell it at skin level. Sillage is strong first 2 or 3 hs and then stay close to skin.

This smells like a Lemonhead Fougere in the opening to me. As it dries down it turns into a completely different fragrance on my skin multiple more times. In the first hour or two, its a Lemony musk, almost like a beast mode Dior Homme Cologne but I also get hits of a shower fresh clean smell of the 80's think Mennen Speed Stick. My descriptions don't make it appealing but if you like citrus and musk with a woody dry down, this is a masterpiece.

I like this one, but ultimately it seemed like a very linear fragrance. It would be a great fragrance as an entry point into the niche realm, as it is not a challenging wear. It opens with a really nice, smooth lemon that is not screechy or sharp to my nose. Lemonhead candy comes to mind. The florals in the mid are nicely blended into the fragrance, and I can't even detect the mint, rose, or lily of the valley notes. I would say that it's a safe fragrance for a man who believes rose and lily of the valley are strictly feminine notes. The drydown is nice and smooth, with just a touch of musk/vanilla (warm amber), undetectable patchouli, and minimal cedar wood. It lasts for a good amount of time, and I got between 6-7 hours of longevity, and the fragrance basically stays the same through the drydown with zero spiciness to my nose. I consider it a safe blind buy if you like semi-sweet citrus fragrances. There is nothing that makes the fragrance stand out to make it unique or special, but some people will really love it that have mostly worn screechy citrus designer fragrances, in my opinion.

It’s a good refreshing perfume for summer. I like it. But it’s boring a little bit. It’s more linear. I found it smells like synthetic cleaning material on my skin but it smells fine on clothes. I may not buy it again because it smells like classic musky fougeres.

Very lemony and strong. Lasts quite well. I do not think anyone would compliment one wearing i, as it is just a strong lemon scent without any subtle nuances.

It's a nice natural citrusy scent. I loved it from the first smell. Just wow.

It is absolutely ok , nothing really special, smell like Portofino from Dior , i still prefer Torino 21 over this one .

The extremely sharp opening puts me off. Used 2-3 times. Not gonna spray again. Glad I didn’t buy a full bottle.

Pleasantly addictive very close 10/10 all seasons all occasions all weather signature scent worthy classy elegant extremely enjoyable and uplifting scent My ONLY gripes with this are: the longevity, in my case it lasted 3 something hours on my skin but the first hour was pure magic And also the price, this is WAY better than Torino 21, but I still find the price for the scent profile to be a bit too much. If this existed in larger amounts like 200ml and for the same price, I would stock up on it and quit the perfume hobby altogether, it would be my forever signature scent

Citurs and fennel. I don't know where the fennel is coming from but it is there. Fresh day sun perfume.

I had this a long time ago and decided to sell it and months later I regretted it so much. Two years later, it’s back with me and I have never been so happy. Unmatched cleanliness, musks and pleasant citrus. One of the best daytime citrusy scents ever.

A summer / daytime fragrance for those who generally dislike summer / daytime fragrances. Citrus on top with some heavier elements (e.g., cedar, patchouli) underneath to balance things out.

It's nice, unisex, maybe a bit slightly masculine. It was advertised to me as an alternative to Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca, it has similar intentions but more citrus and worse parameters on my skin. Was worth trying while looking for a summer heat freshie but I won't buy the full bottle.

I see this perfume as a perfect smoother lemon fragrance for my nose that is irritated by strong citrus smells. I bought for example EGE, Fiero and Mandarino di Amalfi because I smelled them in the store perfume bell where the perfume sits for days in warmth, but when they are fresh, they numb my nose, even Torino21 and Nio have this effect on me. So if you are like me, then Renaissance can be a very good option.

good scent only complaint is that after 6 hours it becomes a skin scent

It’s very nice and lemon forward. Something a bit creamy and merengue like. Mixed with…woods? Something that contrasts with the citrus. It’s not bad. If even makes it interesting. It’s worth checking out but there are better citrus’s out there and better offerings from the house.

Opens with fresh, juicy citruses and mint that lasted for an hour, Then it dried down into a green calming scent with very less to no projection for the next few hrs. I dont get what other people say, this is green/herbal and almost mute in the drydown.

TOO BITTER WHAT DA HELLI ???

On my skin which burns through citrus notes fast, this actually lasts on me. It lasts due to the sweet amber musk that is the base of this. This perfume does not wow, or blow me away, but it may be one of the most addicting to me. I usually hate sweetness which this has, and I hate most ambers which this also has, and once I sus out the synthetics I tend to get bored. For some reason though, I still loves this so much. I’m a bougie snob when it comes to scent, and I’ll admit that. Somhow this perfume just nails it for me. It’s just lux enough l, just natural enough, just sweet enough, just radiant enough to be a long term staple in my collection.

Just got mine, literally smells like walking down the orange/lemon orchards in spring. You smell the citrus, you smell the flowers of spring. Will update with the dry down. update: Once the orange/lemon orchards you start getting a creaminess come through, kind of like a key lime pie type of vibe as someone else has mentioned, along with some subtle florals still coming through. if anyone likes a realistic citrus+florals+vanilla, this is for you. 8.5-9/10

It is wild that people are calling this a freshie. It is not. In the air, I get a short-lived synthetic citrus. On the skin, patchouli is the dominant scent and it's an herbal/floral scent overall. Do not blind buy this expecting a cool citrusy freshie. This is a hard pass for me.

I love it. Unisex. Well blended and uplifting realistic scent. Citrus and green scent. Great for summer days.
