This is absolutely the most beautiful lilac perfume I’ve ever smelled.
A lovely lilac scent that transported me straight back to the May blooms. Perfect for those gloomy days when you just need a dreamy scent to remind you that sunnier times are coming :) My only beef is that ot really disappeared from the skin in under 3h - another wear is needed to properly rest before I make a buying decision
This is a beautiful bouquet of lilacs wrapped in a bit of creaminess. Unfortunately for me, it disappeared on me after an hour. I sprayed, we went to eat at an outside boutique across the street, and when the meal was finished, so was the scent. What is left is this warm, comforting residue of white flowers. It's a very simple fragrance, and I'm sad that so many obviously enjoys it, whilst it doesn't last at all on me. On the piece of paper from the store I can still smell it, so maybe the ''chemistry'' between me and Lilac Path is just not there.
This really is a very beautiful fragrance with lots of lilac. However, I want to warn those like me who were expecting something ethereal, transparent, and poetic—this is not that kind of fragrance. It’s not a garden after the rain. It’s more of a heavy perfume – floral, rich, and sweet. It’s almost an exact replica of Jean Charles Brosseau’s Fleurs d’Ombre/Jasmin Lilas. And on my skin, it’s incredibly long-lasting –I can still smell it even after a shower.
I really wanted a realistic lilac scent. At least something like the Korres shower gel. After reading the reviews, I almost bought this perfume sight unseen. But the price put me off, so I found the only Douglas store where I could test the scent. And... I was disappointed. It’s a very sharp, unpleasant scent to me. The lilac notes are very faint. It reminds me of some old scent from the past. Such a pity.
A beautiful and well-constructed scent, a gem for floral scents' lovers. To my nose the lilac isn't overly noticeable. The perfume is balanced and well-blended. The floral notes here are those in a sweet and elegant version, not the green stem-like kind, not the synthetic and metallic ones, nor the natural, greasy ones, no burnt tires nor indolic notes here. Therefore, I would call this scent rather commercial. I once read about that "Love Tuberose" by Amouage as a "wedding day fragrance," and I would say the same about this perfume. If such a thing as a wedding day fragrance exists, of course :) I used to wear "Tuberose le jour," also by Aerin some time ago, and I feel certain similarities between them. Maybe it's because both fragrances have orange blossom and jasmine notes? Or is it simply a "brand trait"? It also reminds me a bit of Narcisse Tajii and Jardins Humanistas. P.S. Projection and longevity are good.
Pretty, but straightforward lilac. I don’t know that it warrants the price.
Starts with a realistic lilac scent nicely balanced with fresh and slightly bitter green notes. About 4 hours later, on my skin, it had transitioned to a warm white floral. Nice, but the lilac is gone. 7 hrs later, the white floral accord is still strong.
I was surprised by how much I love this. Truly smells like fresh blooming flowers in spring. I can almost hear bees buzzing around me if I close my eyes. It starts out heavy on the lilac, like pressing your face into a lilac bush and inhaling. As it develops it’s far more on the spicy white floral side of orange blossom and jasmine but it’s so realistic that I don’t mind at all. Beautiful fragrance all around.
For reference: I’m a woman in her late 40’s, and I purchased this as a sample size to try. I specifically chose this for nostalgic reasons as I grew up with a variety lilac hedges, and miss their scent. Opens as a strong floral that is very much lilac, and dries down to a soft, beautiful, realistic aroma of lilac, jasmine, and honeysuckle. The other floral notes are in there, but much more subtle. It is like walking down a garden path surrounded by these flowers in full bloom. A lovely, feminine perfume. Great for spring or summertime wear. This is a scent that smells uniquely beautiful, and I believe would be good for special events, but I will also wear it around the house to reminisce, and because it smells so good. Lasts for a couple of hours on skin. Unless someone is in your personal bubble, they would be unlikely to smell it, so it’s an intimate fragrance. I will be buying a larger bottle in the future. Expensive, but worth it if you love lilacs, jasmine, and honeysuckle.
I’m wearing Lilac Path on one arm and En Passant on the other. Both are beautifully realistic, straightforward lilac fragrances, but they go in different directions. Lilac Path dries down warmer and a touch powdery while En Passant leans airy, mineral and aquatic with lighter projection. I went to work out and afterward Lilac Path actually became sweeter and more powdery while En Passant had faded almost completely. It seems like Lilac Path is the lilac you’d wear in winter when you’re craving spring and summer, and En Passant is the one you’d wear in the heat. Honestly… I might need both.
I'm looking for a 50ml empty bottle if anyone is intersted in selling in Europe :)
Did not smell like lilac to me, AT ALL. Ended up giving it to my sister, who enjoyed it.
This is, so far, the most realistic lilac scent I’ve smelt. It’s just like walking past a lilac tree in the spring and going back to smell it even more. I do the same with this one. Every time I’m in a perfume shop, I spray this on and smell my arm the whole day. Such a nice scent and makes me look forward to spring again.
This left me a little confused. I have found myself OBSESSED with lilac since picking up a niche bottle of lilac perfume in the Paris flower market and searched for an American available alternative. While at first this just screams that organic lilac with the borderline honeysuckle and citrus, it dries to something like sunscreen on me, where the coconut comes from in these notes is beyond me. It’s more than likely just my skin chemistry doing something weird but that broke my heart. If you want that floral with a little bit of a beachy vibes this may be for you. Otherwise you’re truly looking for just straight lilac I recommend fragonard Lilas, it’s hard to come by in the states but not too expensive to ship from overseas and it is just a knockout for photorealism lilac.
I love lilac as a note but this one had a nauseating vodka-like smell to it (not rubbing alcohol, vodka specifically for some reason)
As many have said, a photorealistic lilac and branch. There’s a bit of marshmallow creaminess, as well. Saving this for a cold winter day when I want to feel closer to springtime. Edited to add: if you like this, but find TOO photorealistic or too expensive, White Lilac by Mary Chess is very similar, less expensive and, to be honest, more artistic and interesting.
This is the most flowery, soft, feminine perfume I've ever smelt, and unlike any other perfume in my collection. I love the way it smells on my skin, I think it needs that warmth to really bloom. On clothes I can't stand it, it becomes powdery and smells the way I imagine the color grey might smell. However, as much as I love it in my skin, it is far too gentle of a scent for me. Sometimes I spray a little on my wrist when I'm home because it evokes a sense of peace and comfort, but I don't wear it out much. And by gentle I don't mean in its sillage or longevity, it actually performs very well on my skin, sometimes I can even catch whiffs of it the next day. But it is demureness in a bottle, and I like my scents a bit more playful. I'm definitely going to hold on to and treasure my bottle though!
This is pretty much as close as it gets to a legit lilac scent for me. In the bottle it smells pretty musky, but on my skin there's a burst of fresh/green REAL smelling flowers. I was blown away. It goes on fairly subtle, which I love, but I imagine you can build it up to be quite strong if desired. Layering it with something fainter but a little sweeter also brings up the lilac scent a bit as well, at least on my skin. Really impressive tbh. I have no idea how Aerin managed this but most other perfumeries can't pull it off.
So beautiful. A realistic lilac layered with honeysuckle and the lightest green note from galbanum. My husband wears this :)
A true, sweet, beautiful bleeding lilac scent. you can almost smell the blood from the stem as you snip fresh lilac, i absolutely adore this scent. two or three sprays goes along way, i can still smell it on my clothes days after wear.
One of my top 3 of all time. It's realistic lilac, with green stems and all. A little creamy, a little powdery but in a way that is completely naturalistic. I vastly prefer this to A Drop, which I find colder and too aquatic, making it read more synthetic. This has the warm nectar and soft powderiness of true lilacs. I don't smell the other notes listed; just a real lilac bush. Gorgeous.
One of my absolute favorite fragrances! It’s a lush, saturated garden in a bottle, where lilac unfolds so naturally and abundantly, just the way I always dreamed it would. I bought it blindly and never regretted it for a second. It’s perfect for cool weather, from the end of winter through the last chilly days of spring. Lilac Path, like a garden path surrounded by lilac bushes. This scent has such richness, volume, and depth that I want to call it true high-end floral perfume with a natural feel, lilac, captured in parfum. It carries tenderness, richness, and harmony, as if nature itself wraps around you. Everything aligned: the atmosphere, the season, the peak of blooming. You walk along that path through the lilacs and feel peace, joy, and lightness. It’s powerful, yet airy and unobtrusive. Everything in it flows and lives like music. At times, it feels like more than lilac, it’s also a creamy, soft jasmine, thanks to a special lactonic kind. Together, they create that luxurious, voluminous accord, the duet I adore. The scent is rich, sweet, and fresh, with a creamy nuance beautifully balanced by green bitterness, more beautifully than I’ve ever encountered. And then those magical notes of angelica and galbanum bring depth and a refined, spicy sharpness. Angelica adds rooty, herbal, sweet-bitter nuances, while galbanum brings freshness and woody, resinous touches. The honeysuckle here is simply enchanting, warm, honeyed, tender, like golden sunlight turned into nectar. And within this harmony, depth, and elegance lies the true magic of Lilac Path. It’s a fragrance that feels alive, vibrant, and joyful, yet also deeply soothing. It is the scent of serene joy.
photorealistic lilac scent!! im always impressed when u can tell exactly what its supposed to smell like. safe buy for lilac lovers
I did not see Shadows of Light's review as religious propaganda. I found it beautifully written and a lovely story with a little lesson at the end. Never take anything personally and now I need to try this perfume.
One of the longer lasting fragrances from Aerin but the longevity is decent not great or good. It lasts like 3-4 hours on my clothes. The smell is incredible though, so beautiful, fresh, elegant and feminine. The smell gives me a dopamine hit whenever I catch a whiff. If you like white florals you will most likely like this. It def has white floral and fresh notes, o don’t get green notes I also don’t get amber notes. This perfume is the closest I’ve come to smelling a photorealistic lilac. Out of the entire Aerin line, this one is my favorite.
There's only a hand full of fragrances that I have felt compelled to immediately buy a full bottle of upon very first sniff. This was one of them. I wasn't anticipating loving this as much as I did. But WOW. It opens up with a really watery, lilac and teeny bit of orange blossom (which I think is a really good accompanying floral, it sweetens the Lilac a bit and makes it almost juicy). When it starts drying down it gets slightly drier, the greenness comes out to play, with Galbanum and Angelica 🙌🏼 this is perfectly done. I haven't smelled any others from Aerin, but after this, I'm dying to get my nose on some more!
*Weirdest backstory ever* (grab drink 🍸 and snack 🍿). People don't always appreciate stories, that's fine, this situation is one that deserves it. Skip to the "~" if you just want fragrance breakdown. - This perfume was donated to a church I used to attend by a lady who recently passed away. So, it's been on my mind. She was such a lovely lady and wore White Diamonds (seriously, the ultimate church stereotypical fragrance, but it was so beautiful on her). She was one of the last pillars of life-lived-large, and always wore absolutely fabulous things, but there was nothing ostentatious or pompous about her. She was also the picture of humility, compassion, empathy, and love. She simply went all out, and did it with joy. She complimented others sincerely, and often. I think she truly wanted everyone to be as fabulous as possible, and was thrilled when we were! These Aerin fragrances are NOT affordable. But, this particular lady, out of her character, purchased Lilac Path and Waterlily Sun, and left them on the bathroom counter for everyone to use 🥺 Well, I smelled this in the air a couple of times on people, but never actually tried it myself. I didn't get the opportunity to. I did however, watch children at the time for an ongoing program while their parents attended. There was a helper (a teenage girl, probably about 15) who assisted me with the little ones. I was told she was there because she had had some trouble, and "Needed to focus on other people and not herself". She was a nice kid for the most part, but would occasionally say something biting about other people. I absolutely smelled a fresh floral on her a couple of weeks in a row. I even complimented her on it. Then by around the third week...I didn't smell a scent on her. And the bottle was missing from the bathroom. Initially, I was indignant, and almost confronted her. Then...thought better of it (I had no proof afterall). I thought about addressing this issue with the lady who donated the fragrances, but again, with no proof, I decided to drop the issue. As time went on, and this girl continued to show up sans fragrance...I became more convinced that she had snaked it. Yet...I also became more forgiving (and seriously relieved that I hadn't made an issue out of anything). She mentioned a couple of concerning things about her home life...and family. My heart began to ache for her. And I realized, this perfume that she might've taken (there's a chance I'm mistaken, but even if I am, the point still stands) could be one of the only truly nice things she's had in her life. I began to realize that maybe her "focusing on herself" was a necessity, and survival tactic. If she was in possession of the perfume, I was GLAD of it. I'm 100% CERTAIN that the lady who donated it in the first place would have gifted it personally to the teenager if she had known her circumstances. I think most people would've. I've thought of this quite a lot this week. I hope that young woman is out there, living fabulously and moving on in her life 💜 ~ So I tried a sample of this (that arrived nearly empty...it's almost as if I'm not meant to wear this fragrance, it keeps eluding me). It's very fresh, nearly a soliflore, and nearly realistic...but not quite. It has some jasmine backing it up, and some vague greenery. I'm extremely partial to French Lilac from Pacifica, and ever since smelling it...I'm ruined 😂 It's so perfect, and I compare other lilacs to it. I treasure my bottle. But this is really beautiful too, and has a little more complexity. It's more akin to a spring walk along a sunlit path (yes, Lilac *Path*), where you can smell other warm vegetation along with jasmine, than it is an exercise in lilac realism. Very enjoyable. I've only gotten to try this once, that's all I'll ever have with this one, but I'm thankful that I can finally process it. Thanks for reading all of this, and if you did...be sure to live fabulously, but more importantly, compassionately.
Fresh, photorealistic lilac, like burying your face in a blooming lilac bush. Heady. I am normally into sweet gourmands and fruity-florals and this is neither, but for a few days each spring it’s exactly what I want to smell like. I have made a little rollerball last for yearssss, so I can’t vouch for current stock, but this is a big projector and lasts all day on me. Pairs well with a pretty dress and sunshine.
As a small girl, my first memory of a perfume, was that of Appleblossom perfume. Those simple, but very distinguishable singular note perfumes, have faded away in modern times, and are not as favoured.. I have longed to smell the fragrance of Appleblossom again , but until now, it just hasn't been marketed. Aerin's Lilac Path, my first spray, bought as a Lilac Perfume, to me who has grown Lilac, has little resemblance to Lilac, but is to my nose, a pure Appleblossom fragrance. A disappointment and a beautiful surprise all at once! So nostalgic, a nod to simpler perfumes and simpler days.. it is very small and very expensive. Beautiful cut glass bottle and interesting lid. No Lilac in sight though.
