i'm not sure if i got a dud, but to me it almost smells like incense? the citrus is definitely there, but there's an overwhelming spice note that a lot of arabian perfumes carry that just register as unpleasant for my nose - i expected something more realistic to the name.
This smells very similar to pink sugar. I don’t get any citrus at all.
I have this in both the oil and edp. The projection on it is intense. Even with the oil. so this is definitely not an office safe pick but it is quite a nice fragrance. It does smell quite soapy to me in the top but that eventually goes away and it turns into a very sweet lemon dessert vibe that gets me quite a few compliments. Even more so than Victoria by Lattafa, which has a very similar scent profile. If that's what you're into, it's worth picking up.
Anyone who says that this smells like a lemon desert even remotely is a liar. I get 0 vanilla from this whatsoever and the citrus in it has to be the most artificial I’ve ever smelt. It’s just odd. People will smell this on you and think in their heads “?”
Soft by Al-Rehab completely caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting it to be this rich or this long-lasting. On my skin, it opens with a bold presence and settles into a warm blend of vanilla, soft florals, and subtle spices.
On first spray, this smells like a delicious lemon pound cake, and then it unfortunately proceeds to dry down to something like diabetic sweat on my skin. I don't know if it's just something about my skin chemistry that disagrees with this perfume or if I just dislike how quick the lemon fades into a synthetic gourmand, but it's a pass for me on daily wear. That first spray really is nice though, so sometimes I spray it on myself right before I shower just to get a whiff of it before it sours.
Decent purchase for the price! It's a citrus gourmand but the lemony burst initially is quite detergent like but then settles down after 10mins or so and then I only get citrus-caramel-musk. Moderate longevity 3-4h with intimate projection (ps i do live in coastal area - pretty humid out here)
PERSONALLY I don't pick up on the citrus scents, if anything it lingers in the background. It reminds me of baby powder but in a good way. A very pink sugar hyper feminine scent, but leans a bit juvenile.
Like the smell of lemon curd, Soft opens with syrupy sweet sugar balanced out by bright fruity citrus. The freshness here does dampen during the drydown, but, the bright citrus continues to have amazing staying power for hours after. Placing on the pulse points, Soft's sillage is seriously incredible for an oil perfume. Given you know that you're getting a sickening sugary gourmand, Soft is a good performer at a great price point. There are definitely worse purchases you can make on Amazon.
This is so pretty! And an absolute steal, I think I paid £3.50 for it?! To my nose, Soft smells exactly like lemon sherbet with a powdery vanilla icing sugar edge. It's very sweet, I can agree on that! The caramel is there slightly to round everything off, but i love how it's not dense, buttery or cloying. It's more like hard candied caramels. I normally don't get along with lemon in fragrances, (it turns very cleaning product on me!) but here the lemon is sweetened and cushioned so heavily that it becomes confectionary rather than fresh. I just opened this, but already the projection and longevity are insane. It's quite a linear fragrance, so what you smell after 30 mins is what you get for the rest of the wear. I haven't tried Pink Sugar so couldn't comment on the similarities. I'm so pleased to add this to my collection. I can see myself wearing it all Spring/Summer long when i want an easy reach pretty scent
This is what I imagine the mad hatter tea parties smells like!
veeeery sweet lemon gourmand, that’s super playful and a compliment magnet. although it is a citrusy fragrance, it is not suitable for warm weathers; summer nights are a bit more forgiving, but it does not perform well in the heat
delish. citrusy and powdery mainly. a clean girl that has fun. the most daytime scent ever
Upon reading the reviews, I smell lemon cake too. The caramel supported by a milky powder like and musky scent was the most prominent in my nose. It's not overly sweet unlike the other caramel scents I tried before. This is one of simple perfumes that surprised me and one of middle eastern perfumes I'll recommend to others.
I sampled this perfume yesterday at A vendor booth for Southern Lion in NC. I had heard great things about the Soft perfume oil so decided to spray the tester of this EDP spray on my neck. I showered since then and I can STILL smell it on myself the next day. It smells EXACTLY like Pink Sugar Red Velvet which I decluttered despite finding it quite mellow and pleasant. This does nothing for me. Too sweet albeit well blended. To my surprise, there’s nothing sharp in this which is all too often the case unfortunately with most ME perfumes. This one breaks the mold there which I find pleasantly surprising. It opens with a Narciso-esque musk in the beginning and I can smell flowers in the opening as well but that goes away within just a minute or so as it settles in to this fluffy caramel cake with a hint of lemon and a ton of vanilla. Not my taste but definitely a solid option for those who love the Pink Sugar DNA and love gourmands in general. Simple, long lasting, well balanced good quality solid option for those who like perfumes like this
I like Soft. It’s quite nice. Manages to be elegant and yet quite sweet (very sweet, so if that’s an issue for you, be warned!) however, when first applies, the citrus is extremely strong, and stays this way for maybe 15-30 minutes. It’s not terrible then, but certainly not very enjoyable. After it dries down it’s lovely. I don’t think the citrus was this strong upon application when I first bought the perfume, but I haven’t used it hardly so I’m not sure (I’ve had it for months). I also appreciate that it’s fairly unique. Great affordable option for people who like sweet florals and some citrus. Also a bit powdery. I do not smell any wood on it however, like is listed.
As someone who loves Pink Sugar, this is in no way a dupe or substitute. This is a sweet, innocent lemon cake sort of scent. It's pretty, inoffensive and casual. Pink Sugar is similar, think cousins and this is the gentler, softer version who likes lemons. Pink Sugar is the more bold, complicated version who likes Raspberry & Licorice. A very pretty scent and I can see why it's one of Al Rehab's most popular scents. It's not my favorite but I can see why it's loved by many.
Such a gourmand, smells like lemon cake, baby powder, and milk. Can't believe one of my favorite fragrances is so cheap.
idk if I'm the only one who thinks it doesn't live up to it's name, it's NOT soft at all. it's not a fresh scent, it's gourmand with zesty overtones. not suitable for summer, as it can become too dense and cloying.
I had the oil but passed it on. It wasn't bad but it wasn't me. It reminded me of those scented bath oil beads you'd get in gift baskets in the 90s.
I've gone through three bottles of this perfume so I think it's high time I leave a review. Opens with a burst of citrus that's almost harsh especially for a new bottle and settles into caramel and vanilla,I don't smell any other notes. However as it sits and matures ( about 8 wks ) the caramel starts to develop a slight lactonic note with a powdered vanilla vibe. The longevity and sillage are average but can be improved by layering with the oil version. However for the price point I can't complain. I really like this and I think it will always be a staple because it layers really well with so much. Lately I wear it with Paco Rabbane Fame for day time and Tubbees Golden Praline Bliss for a cozy feel.
For $7? Hell yes! I initially got the oil on a swap and really enjoyed the sweet and citrus notes. Definitely feminine and gourmand. It's a nice casual year round scent that is pleasant and lasts all day. Also works great as a car air freshener. At this price point, I keep a bottle in my glove box.
Get the Oil for nuclear performance, not something id wear but its nice sweet and juicy
too overwhelmingly sweet for me, very gourmand. smells like a lemon bar but not a totally realistic one. it’s like the kind of lemon bar that would be in child’s dream about a unicorn tea party or a care bears movie from the 90s.
for me it doesnt smell like lemon at all tbh. it smells very powdery and musky. maybe also a little sweet airy vanilla and caramel. but i like that.
wore this to my journalism class and my teacher asked if i smoked a black & mild.
Yes almost identical to Pink Sugar. This is just a little more citrusy, like a lemon butter cake with thick, very sweet lemon icing on top with caramelised Pink Sugar underneath. Also a little less loud and smoother. So good. 🩷💛🍭🍋🍰😋
Long-lasting, sweet, delicious, powdery ,vanilla and a hint of caramel scent. Perfect for everyday use and all seasons. This shows us that "good perfume" doesn't have to be ridiculously expensive🥰
I got the roll on. VERY citrus-y, more than I was expecting even, almost like this mosquito repellent bracelets. But it does dry down sweet and citrus-y, just not at the forefront after dry down. It reminds me a lot of pink sugar! I think it will grow on me. It's fine :)
I have never smelled pink sugar and not sure I will I it has a licorice note to it that people mention because that sounds gross if they don't mean red licorice. Creamy lemon pound cake or bundt cake if you will opeing and a nice powdery dry down. There is no caramel note. I don't smell orchid, woody notes, vetiver or musk. This is Al Rehab's clear winner with choco musk oil following in second. I Really Love This. Safe blind buy for most, some won't like it.
