This is indeed a "one-note wonder" of a scent. On first spray, it's like fingernails piercing the rind of a thick-skinned orange, then being attacked by a blast of acidic juice that squirts into your face, drenching your skin in an overripe, sticky mess. The scent is a sharp, juicy, photorealistic orange. You'd expect it to be sweet, but it is not; it has this bitter citric sting on the tail end, enough to catch at the back of the throat. On dry down, it loses a little acid, but that overwhelming orange scent remains. And props to the makers for correctly differentiating between the different types of orange scent, because this is vastly different to the fresh, sweet, fruity orange more common in many fruit-scented perfumes. It indeed has the bitterness and the sourness you only get from a blood orange. If you like sour-note oranges, this might tempt you. Not blind buy safe otherwise, in my opinion. I like a bit more depth and complexity in my perfumes. So glad I only bought a small tester.

Opens like an orange-lemon scented cleaner, gets eaten away by the skin quite quickly. It's a nice refreshing water for scorching hot days. That being said, it does not blend with my skin, and starts giving out unsweetened woody orange milk smoothie soon enough. Bit synthetic and just smells kinda off on me

This evokes memories of my childhood on the Pacific coast of Mexico: early-morning cool but humid/dense air, and the kichen is buzzing: there's cutting, squeezing, and tossing spent oranges into a basket. Also, there's something that few people seem to catch from this is a faint yet distinct green spices and herbs peeking out beneath the orage zest: I sense oregano and cilantro, but that might be my personal memory hallucinations. It's the most realistic fresh orange-and-spice fragrance I've ever encountered, like burying your face in a basket of freshly cut and squeezed oranges and green herbs. The perfumer claims it's composed of over 90% natural oils, which is surprising becasaus Orange Sanguine lasts surprisingly long for a citrus freshie: it pushes 1-2 hours of radiance. I reach for this first thing in the morning, before my coffee. It helps wake me up and stirs a quiet happiness in me. Blind buy safe and one of the most emotionally evocative scents in my collection.

Bathroom cleaner… some disinfectant… I’ll go ahead and blame the geranium. Absolutely nothing like orange soleia which is a gorgeous blood orange and I can say that very confidently owning a full bottle.

Juicy photo-realistic orange, opens strongly with aromatic spiciness and the bitter zest. Smells like an array of different oranges, on top of a light woody floral. Has a unisex quality, extremely fresh and up-lifting. Perfect for warm weather, I would wear this to an outdoor event/restaurant.

Do you know that moment when you begin to peel an orange, sinking your fingers into the rind, causing the juice to burst forth? That is precisely what this fragrance captures. It offers an ultra-realistic, natural aroma of fresh blood orange, capturing both the juice and the peel. Extremely fresh, bright, clean, unisex (slightly feminine), linear, and minimalist, but absolutely true to its name. The geranium complements the sweetness of the juice, while the pepper mimics the bitterness of the rind, which probably tricks the nose into smelling the orange hours later. As it develops, the base notes introduce a subtle creaminess, though the signature freshness remains intact. I can easily picture a gorgeous, tanned blonde in a white linen shirt wearing this to the beach. The longevity is impressive for a fresh scent. My sole critique is that it occasionally registers as a bit soapy, reminiscent of a shower gel. 7.5/10

this smells exactly like aperol spritz! so so good so fresh the peppery underneath is beautiful so tasty i wish i could spray it in my mouth but i'll settle for an aperol i guess it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

I truly love this photo-realistic orange scent! It brings me back to childhood where I used to crush and rub orange peels on my arms and wished the scent would not disappear so quickly. Orange Sanguine is so juicy, bright, fresh, and opens with a slightly sweet fruity aroma. I think this sweetness is essential, it drives home the image of perfectly pulpy ripe oranges! This is my go to scent to pair with other more complex fragrances (like Lost Cherry for example). Every time I almost lose myself in the complexity of the other scent, I sniff Orange Sanguine on my right wrist and I am back on track. A palate cleanser if you will. The only occasion I will not wear this, is on days I know I'll be sweaty- Orange Sanguine will really emphasize the tanginess of sweat. Now, I love my bottle of Orange Sanguine but something unfortunate has happened. For some reason, it does not smell like it used to anymore. It is not at all sweet, but musky, heavy, and coarse. Maybe even chemical-ly and pungent, its terrible :(. I have tested it a couple of times and it is like this on cool days AND humid days. The scent left on the atomizer is the same sweet juicy aroma, but somehow the juice has gone off... I suspect the high humidty in my area has ruined my batch... Well, I only have a little left in my bottle so it is fine (might buy a new one), but I will be using my bottle as a nasal stick and NOT spraying it out.

This is a GREAT orange scent. Totally balanced and unisex. Still has the woods and amber down under to give it a little body. Ideal stuff for summer daytime. Decent longevity for this notoriously weak genre of scents.

To me personally this smells really bad, like something an old lady would clean her carpets with. I had to wash myself after, I love citrus scents but I don't understand the appeal

Clementine California is miles ahead of this. Yes, this is orangey and citrusy and I'm not getting the other notes that are listed. It's so light, basic and doesn't have much presence. Also, it gets less pleasant in the drydown. I don't know why you would really invest in a bottle.

Ray of sunshine. Orange, magnolia, sunlight drips in big heavy globs, slowly, so slowly. I am at peace. Use in the winter when you miss the summer.

Do you want orange? Because this is orange. Unapologetically so. Atelier Cologne really knows how to take a single note and make it interesting without overcomplicating it. When I think of orange-forward fragrances, I often expect synthetic, annoying body wash experiences. This is not that, clearly made from natural extracts. Here, the citrus sits on wood, with darker citrus tones, subtle spice, and a soft amber base. Warm instead of breezy, and there’s depth beneath. People usually associate citrus with summer, but I actually see this as a winter citrus. It’s pulled down, grounded, spiced, rounded and grown. It’s a very pretty citrus that knows how to behave.

Love this! Very distinctive, long lasting, and I like the citrus, almost sparkly punch. This is one that I enjoy all day.

Fragrance Journal Entry #46 This is the most ultra realistic citrus fragrance i have ever smelled. Seriously this smells like you put an orange in a blender, peel, pulp, all of it then spilled it all over yourself. Truly beautiful scent with one major drawback...the performance is terrible, 20mins of projection and maybe 1-2hour longevity. I can't say it's worth spending the money on this with that kind of performance but if you know someone that is super sensitive to perfume then they may enjoy this. Rating: 7.1/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

Photorealistic orange, nothing more nothing less. Not sweet, just fresh orange, absolutely natural smelling. Doesn't project or last much. I like it but it's massively overpriced which is sadly the case with all AC scents.

almost ALMOST my perfect orange fragrance for a citrus fragrance it lasts INSANELY long bright juice opening, clear and fresh the cedar/sandalwood is what makes it last that long imo- tricks you into thinking the orange is still there hours later but I think i just don’t like woody fragrances that much so i can’t quite deal with this for long periods but if you don’t mind/like wood this is THE perfect orange fragrance it not you orange sanguine, it’s me

The drydown on this is almost identical to CK One's. It's this vaguely citric, plastic, oily, cosmetic, strange synthetic smell that detracts from the beautiful top notes so much so that I had to give my bottle away. Shame. It really does last a while, though. Which in my case was a huge negative, since the long-lasting notes smell so weird and gross.

This is a very youthful and happy scent! Bubbly, sparkling. I actually think it’s very soapy - to me it smells like an orange bubble bath. I love this scent but personally I don’t want to smell like this.

Citrus forward scent that doesnt smells like orange juice, which is good. Smells classy and modern. Its very refreshing with a hint of fresh spicy herbal aspect beneath. Its very linen shirt during sunset dinner during summer type of a vibe. Versatile and good for hot weather. I am impressed.

Exactly like slicing into a fresh, juicy orange ooufff!! bright, zesty, and mouthwatering. It’s so realistic and uplifting, just as beautiful as described. A burst of sunshine in a bottle!

A more photorealistic orange than Pacifica's Tuscan Blood Orange. I can still smell the orange-peel citrus notes 3 hours after I applied on my skin!

This perfume is a citrus lover's dream. All of the other ingredients beside the blood orange, and mandarin orange, serve as supporting actors that cradle the delicate essence of the citrus notes. Just imagine that you've bitten into a fresh orange with the juices running down your chin and the oils from the rind nearby, invigorating your spirit. This is an absolute crown gem, and I will be buying a full bottle immediately. For years, I have found that the occasional use of citrus perfumes or essential oil aromas are uplifting for my spirit and as of late, I have been using them more often. Even though this is comprised of mostly citrus notes at the top and in my opinion, the heart, it does have extremely good, lasting power and I would attribute that to the supporting notes.

It was a fairly warm orange — pretty, unoriginal, pleasant, well-constructed, and grounded in real life.
