Rose Anonyme is built around a lush, velvety rose wrapped in rich resins and earthy patchouli. Initially, I struggled to understand the bright, brisk ginger note, but over time it has become one of the fragrance's most intriguing facets. My main criticism is its lack of longevity, particularly where the rose is concerned. As the fragrance dries down, much of the floral character fades, leaving the resins and woody notes to dominate for the remainder of its relatively short lifespan. I find myself overspraying on clothing to extend its presence, though it truly comes alive on warm skin, where the composition unfolds with greater depth and nuance.

this is such phenomenal perfume. already in 2012 I bought a flacon, surprised that there could be something like a Cologne Absolute, which, as it later proved to be, rather acted, performed like an Edp. why I had it in 2012 became the default Mode de rigueur. entering a Niche Perfumery in Rotterdam, knowing several of the 'hostesses', they always showed me the newest of the new and than often, I HAD TO HAVE IT. very primitively and primordially. very instinctively, as how I am fundamentally. while (next to being a nurse) I studied philosophy, I do not as much THINK but I FEEL. a fact I shared proudly with my (most younger, but with enough age- correlating) fellow students. much to their flabbergastedly shock, awe or something in between. but I didn't lied. the perfume delivered a delightful Rose-Oud with a Spike which right on reminded me of the Montale Rose-Ouds which I all loved. (and bought, even if they were overlapping.) seeing the notes again, I wonder what delivers the Spike, as I thought it to be a Saffron. either the Patchouli, Ginger or Bergamot then must have added additional twang to the already thoroughly present perfume. I find this to be one of the better 'Rose-Ouds' out there, but then I have the same opinion about the Montales. perhaps the moniker 'Cologne' stands for the elucidating, Crystal Clear Edition of a perfume with such brooding and frothing ingredients.

This is so sexy. Deep, woody resinous rose with a bright citrus opening. I want to take a bath in Rose Anonyme, there's an animalic quality that produces a heavy musk reminiscent of leather. I would definitely buy a full-sized bottle. Not the best for work as it may not be universally appealing, but perfect for outings and date nights, would be a great signature for musky woody rose lovers.

I bought this years ago and hadn't worn it in at least two years. I decided to give it a whirl and have been wearing in for two weeks straight. It is so much better than I remembered. The oud, which used to make me sneeze, has calmed down quite a bit and the citrus notes are outstanding.

I got this as a gift from a person that went to Germany, and it has been lovingly nicknamed “Turkish Oud”. It smells opulent and a bit dry, which I like. I’m glad that I can’t smell the bergamot when I spray it. It’s been blended well.

Анонім★★★★★

It’s giving mysterious main character energy… like classy but lowkey intimidating. It’s not your typical soft or romantic rose it’s deeper, a bit spicy, with woody/oud vibes that make it feel more mysterious and kinda bold.

The house specifically lists a fractionated ylang-ylang note, like Lisylang Heart. Why is that not listed in the notes here?

This is one of the most beautiful created perfumes! It's dark, rose, incense! It smells like a victorian bride in church. It's perfection! Def not for every nose. Very misterious! Too bad i can't find it anymore. 😢

It's been discontinued. I still have one back-up bottle for sale if anyone's interested, pm. Based in Switzerland.

A deep, brooding red rose, thick with patchouli and woods that weigh it down—almost suffocatingly. The rose itself is rich, plush, and undeniably dramatic, but combined with the base dense and heavy, it's left with little room to breathe. This fragrance leans opulent, even a little gothic, but without much space for light beyond the velvet curtains. No fresh petals, no breeze—just the weight of something final, something already decided.

This starts with an initial sharp rose that reads more papery (and peppery) than green. As it dries down, rose becomes more of a supporting note and the bergamot and pachouli transform this fragrance from a sun-drenched arrangement of dried roses in a dusty victorian library to potpourri someone left in a forgotten backroom bathroom. It’s not unpleasant, but loses its sophistication and settles into something that is pleasant, but unremarkable. There is a lingering sweetness from the bergamot that becomes more pronounced with time, and elevate the fragrance out of bathroom spray territory and into something delightful for summer evenings. I reach for this one when I want to project a mature elegance, but it's not an everyday scent. This perfume is unisex, but not in a genderless sense, it’s a wonderful balance of both femininity and masculinity. Silage is close and intimate, which is my preference for spicier scents. I’m not entirely certain how to classify the longevity. The aforementioned potpourri lasts about 1-2 hours before it shifts into something extremely close and subtle, but far more pleasant for another 2-4 hours.

I think I mainly perceive the papyrus in this initially. To me it is a very airy and dry rose, woody also, with an overall feeling of an austere cologne. It’s clearly a rose, but not a lush one or a green one. It feels like someone put some roses in a dehydrator that sucked all their juice out but left all the woody parts intact, and then placed this weird bouquet in a library full of old papers. More dusty and dry than what I prefer in a rose perfume. There’s a good amount of bergamot and it’s a spiky version that adds to the harsher aspect I get from this. There’s cypriol too and it adds a touch of pungency I’m not enjoying that much. I like the actual dry down more than the top, the dustiness settles into the other notes and a very light patchouli comes forward and it begins to smell softer and gentler. The rose takes on a little fruitiness at this point, about 2 hours in. It’s a skin scent now but a very nice one. So my feelings on this one are mixed. Longevity just about 4 hours and after the first hour sillage is intimate. To my taste this skews masculine.

this smells like roses. that's it. if that is what you want, get this. it's unisex. personally, i love it. it's an odd one i break out every now an again.

this reminds me of a few perfumes I’ve tried but probably Sana Jardin’s Celestial Patchouli is the closest, though I love Celestial Patchouli far more. To the moon and back. But this has similar development at parts and it’s a really lovely fresh rose if you want something that leans more toward musk and patchouli and citrus for foundational support. As most perfumes are that aren’t real niche or indie made for me, it does give me a slight headache, but nothing I can’t handle. It’s just that a headache is usually indicative of maybe poor quality ingredients. Lasts about 1-2 hours with mild to medium silage. Also, it reminds me just slightly of Chloe by Chloe. That kind of rose anyway, so very familiar.

I've been looking for this for a long time and was ecstatic to find a family member had a mini bottle that they weren't using. This is definitely in line with Atelier's other offerings – it's very linear, doesn't transform much, and feels very soft and airy even as it attempts to wrangle oud and patchouli. It feels a bit like Ellis Brooklyn Raven in the way it uses patchouli: as the support to the floral note, and a VERY strong support. I get more patchouli from this than oud, and it doesn't feel like other contemporary "rose oud" scents. The ginger and papyrus are present but not prominent – rose is definitely the main fragrance, and it's a traditional dry rose, not jammy, green, or citrusy. In that way, it's a bit boring: it's just a rose perfume. What makes this interesting to me is that despite those heavy notes, it feels very light, like many Atelier scents do on me. It feels sheer, rather than dense. I find myself drawn to scents like this and think "ooh, that's for me!" upon first spray because I too, am floral and spicy and interesting! But after a while, I get a bit sick of them, especially the way they can for the first hour, which is always very patchouli-heavy to my nose. I am hoping I won't get as sick of this as I do others, because it's so straightforward and light.

Light rose and oud; inoffensive, not much else.

Rose Anonyme is a lighter, thinner take on usually heavier rose and oud scents. The rose in here is on the soapier side. I perceive this to be a linear fragrance and besides rose and oud, I can also distinctly smell the opoponax note. Somehow, this scent has a sour feel to it. Usually, I do not have much issues with the performance of Atelier Cologne fragrances, but this one is on the weaker side in terms of sillage. When worn indoors, I can easily smell the fragrance on myself. However, once I spend some time outdoors, it evaporates quickly, even when worn on clothes. Longevity is 12 hours and plus, but only when I smell my skin or clothes from up close.

This surprised me. I see rose as the main note and I always enter with trepidation. I found this to be a warm, light and dry rose. Looking back I think I have mostly experienced very green rose scents and this was different. I get the spice from the ginger and the warmth from the wood that envelopes a light rose aura. The citrus lends a bit of brightness. This is very well blended and very smooth. It has an inherent sweetness. Thankfully it does not smell screechy on me (I remember first reading that term on here and then experiencing it with a KK fragrance and thinking ahhh that is what they mean lol). Anyway I wouldn’t buy a bottle but will enjoy finishing the tester. I love Atelier fragrances and hate that their sillage and longevity just aren’t there. Well with the sale and discontinuation of so many products I guess it doesn’t matter. Still working through my found discovery scent bought years ago with pleasure. UPDATE: I am wearing this again (in warmer weather than the last time) and it’s truly beautiful. It’s a perfume that shines when you catch the scent around you (rather than sniffing your wrist). So soft warm, balanced and inviting for a rose perfume.

Rose Anonyme is an extremely linear scent a, candied rose-fruitchouli scent with a miniscule drop of bergamot atop a dry papyrus base that feels peppered and a bit acrid. The whole thing is nestled in a cocoon of eternal clean musk. A lot of nice notes so uninspiredly mixed that the result is an expensive and qualitative home spray who provide an endless stream of banality, dull as soapy dishwater. A Sens-bon , this kind of perfume who makes people ask you politly "what is it?" whith a big smile and a compliment to try to look nice because they have already smell that in the toilet of someone else. It's ok, but there is so much good perfumes of this type than this one is an anonymous loser

One of the screechiest roses I've ever smelled, it's almost metalic. The smell equivalent of nails on the chalkboard. It really does lean a bit more masculine than rose usually does but, at this price? and this perfomance? Save your money, you can find better that will last longer and maybe even cost you less. Definetely not the best from this house in my opinion.

Анонім★★★★★

This smells exactly like my dentists office + rose. The rose in it smells very good, but it reminds me of my dentist too much. No fun times.

Анонім★★★★★

Such a beautiful rose. In fact, this is perhaps the rose most responsible for making me realize I love rose after all, years ago now. I just stumbled upon my original travel spray I thought was long gone, from around 2015. The oud is gentle rather than screechy, and the ginger makes this particular rose/oud combo something very different than other fragrances with that particular ubiquitous accord. It sparkles, it’s a deep dark green, a bit wet. This is a rose after a much needed rain, petrichor air wafting around her quenched, relieved sighs. Gloriously unisex, and on me lasts hours and hours on my skin despite it being a cologne.

Анонім★★★★★

This smells good, but the rose disappeared only a few minutes after I sprayed it on my skin, which was the main note I wanted it for. I do get a beautiful, bright patchouli, lightened by the bergamot, but I really am not getting much of anything else. The people I'm typically around do not care for patchouli, so this is one I will have to wear on days I am only planning on lounging around the house.

Анонім★★★★★

A beautifully balanced scent, the rose note shares the stage equally with the woody and spicy notes. It feels earthy and not in-your-face floral, very unisex and versatile. Definitely worth a try even if you don't usually like rose.

To me this is a lemony rose fragrance that evokes a very interesting feeling of lightness and vagueness. Something about it reminds me of Café Tuberosa, but it smells less grounded and more enigmatic. It is not a feminine rose at all, but it evokes an elusive feminine quality when worn by a woman. Love it love it love it.

Анонім★★★★★

I’m newer to the world of perfume, but I have always adored Atelier Cologne ever since I got a sample from Sephora years ago, of Iris Rebelle. I bought a sample size of Rose Anonyme from eBay, and ended up buying the full bottle. This is definitely an oriental rose scent. It’s more feminine than masculine and it’s a little sweet for me. I was surprised when I applied it—from the bottle, it smelled very rosy, but when I wear it, it’s a bit more woody and bergamot heavy and rose is sort of an afterthought. I don’t totally mind that at all, as I have some other rose perfumes. I do have a bottle of Cafe Tuberosa (also by Atelier) that has been a favorite for several years; Rose Anonyme is lighter, more feminine and sweeter. I think it’s a better day-to-day scent than Cafe Tuberosa, which is heavier and more of a special occasion scent. I do keep reaching for it, but I notice I prefer to use very small amounts and then have to reapply throughout the day—larger amounts are a little sweet and overwhelming, and the longevity isn’t at all bad, but it’s not fantastic. The scents I smell most after the woodyness, rose and bergamot would be papyrus and ginger. I do love the papyrus note, it’s sort of a library-old book smell mixed with a plant smell and it lends a unique edge to the scent that I personally adore. Overall, 4.5/5 for me. I do see it not being everyone’s cup of tea, depending on your wants as well as how it sits on your skin.

I absolutely LOVE this. It smells like a true rose scent, like I just opened my bottle of rose absolute oil. My favorite way to wear it is layered with Mancera Instant Crush. I used to be obsessed with BR540, but I started looking from something else- so I got IC and tried pairing the two together and it's DIVINE. I'm so sad that Atelier is "rebranding" and discontinuing this - I just discovered it!

The genesis of my niche fragrance journey! I smelled this glorious scent and fell head over heels in love. I was instantly transported to the East African coast, with the somalian opoponax and spices in the air… Then I realized it layered well with Vanille Insensée, as well as my enduring favourite Santal Carmin. I used to layer all three together. Next thing I knew I had Treflé Pur, Clementine California, and Pomelo Paradis, -I ended up with the lot, but it all started with RA. This fragrance house taught me how to layer in a way Jo Malone could not. I am grateful for that, and I’m envious of anyone starting their Atelier Cologne Journey. Buckle up! It’s a fun ride! Edit: By the way, does anyone know what the Rose Anonyme Extrait smells like? Is it more feminine? More unisex? Longer lasting? Better blended? It has made me curiouser and curiouser!
