Her mevsim kullanılabilir. Daha bir sürü şey yazabilirim fakat bu parfüm bana göre anlatılmaz, yaşanır. Onu bekletmeyin, onu sıkın, bitirin ve yıllar sonra taze duyguları ve umutları hatırlayın...
A Timeless Scent of Memory — Perceive by Avon Perceive by Avon is more than just a fragrance to me, it is a cherished memory captured in a bottle. It was the very first perfume my dad ever bought for me when I was a teenager. I still remember that day in 2002 so vividly: he took me and my sisters to a perfume store and told us to choose something we like. Outside, it was late fall, cold, with snow gently covering everything and that crisp, clean air that makes scents feel even more alive. I was so happy, and somehow, this fragrance became forever tied to that moment. Perceive is beautifully balanced, making it perfect for any season. It carries a soft freshness, yet in cold air it becomes something truly magical, crisp, comforting, and unforgettable. In 2005 my dad passed away and life moved on, this perfume became impossible to find. But recently, after more than 20 years, I finally found it again, and incredibly, it smells exactly as it used to. The moment I sprayed it, all those memories came rushing back. It felt like being transported in time. The bottle itself is just as special-designed like a crystal or diamond, with a soft light purple lavender hue liquid inside, it looks elegant and nostalgic at the same time. I feel so lucky to have rediscovered this fragrance. Perceive isn’t just a perfume—it’s a piece of my past, a reminder of love, and a scent that will always stay with me.
Just ok. Fresh, clean, crisp even. Worked well for a teenage me.
Smells so good in winter
Smells clean, fresh, slightly aquatic, faintly floral and very strong pear. Not my favourite, but it was okay to spray around after cleaning the house -- smelled extra clean afterwards.
Perceive was “that girl” in the neighbourhood in which I grew up. Every late 20s- early 30s woman would have a bottle of it laying around and as a kid the bottle fascinated me, it still remains a top 5 favourite. I bought a bottle for the nostalgia, but the opening threw me off, it’s like an alcohol bomb. I let it settle, but the combination of pear and white pepper didn’t sit right on my skin. Perceive starts off as spicy when applied (the cedar and freesia are carrying the opening if you’re asking me) and it settles into something more tame, but unfortunately it doesn’t mesh well with my skin at all.
This is my go to winter perfume. It is interesting how subjective reviews are, as I would not describe it as soft and aquatic at all, but a peppery floral scent that is quite bold. I love to wear it during wintertime, I would find it too heavy for summer. All in all, a perfume that I always have, and as soon as the weather gets colder, around November time, it comes out of the closet. I hope that it never gets discontinued.
One of my high-school dreams. Girls had it all around me, yet I couldn't afford it. Now, it smells according to that era, matching colorful skirts and lace camis. I wouldn't use it nowadays, but it might be interesting for a teenager girl going into the perfume world. I feel it's too much of a stinker now.
A subtle floral fragrance with a faintly aquatic character. Gentle and unobtrusive, it feels appropriate in any setting. Its delicate projection leaves a beautiful veil on the skin, lingering for several hours. A soft, feminine classic with a touch of vintage charm.
I have many perfumes for spring/summer season but my hand keeps reaching for this beautiful, enchanting cheapie. So long lasting, fresh, clean yet powerful. Aquatic, flowery, not in-your-face but definitely not a skin scent. Love this perfume! Will definitely get more while it's still available.
The one we all remember and love, definitely more synthetic than we remembered. The aldehydes are strong with this one. The freesia upon initial spray is a bit troublesome and alcoholy, but after a while it settles down into the light aquatic musky floral it's supposed to be. A true refresher in the hotter days that won't choke most people. Everyday, every season, every occasion, you rarely get more versatile than that. Modest 5 hours longevity but the sillage is quite alright in the first 2 hours.
nothing remarkable about this one. doesn't smell that bad but just... boring. all i could smell was faint florals, couldn't even tell half of the notes. sillage is not there either. i'm not disgusted but wouldn't purchase it again.
Smells cheap and strongly of Hyacinth with soap (C10 Aldehyde) . This fragrance has geranium and some other synthetic floral ingredients, nothing naturally extracted (to keep it cheap) and it results in smelling of hyacinth to me. I love hyacinth, but in this fragrance it smells cheap and like laundry detergent. Imagine washing your body with Dove soap and getting out of the shower without rinsing. That annoying soap smell you wish you'd rinse off. This is exactly that.
Review of a newer bottle: one of those frail, ethereal scents. The aroma is super pretty but this does not project or last very much at all. Barely there and makes you think of trying to sniff a bouquet of freesias while out in a winter landscape: the scent just vanishes on you, although refreshing and romantic it is sooo pale. Kind of like Éclat Mademioselle from Oriflame and Dawn by Sarah Jessica Parker. In this genre I would recommend Pur Blanca (with flankers) for more impactful cheapies.
2nd hand blind buy ,and another one I hate from Avon .I have had bad perfumes ,but the Avon's one cumulate all flaws .So cheap smelling.Like a synthetic products with rotten fruits ,there is something slightly powdery in it .And fortunatly the longevity is weak .I'm still wondering if the bottle I bought was well preserved .But I'm pretty sure that in its prime I wouldn't have liked it.
i was sent this by accident and definitely will be returning haha. it's got this really sour and disinfectant-like base, and super fresh notes aren't really for me in general. i think avon do some great perfumes but this is such a miss for me.
I used to like it a lot, together with Incandescence and LBD, I bought them often when I was a teen/early 20s bc they were very affordable. This is a light, clean, sweet floral. It has a delicate and youthful vibe. Good for everyday wear, for informal occasions, for the office. Inoffensive, with very delicate projection. Unfortunately, the quality is not what it used to be. The last time I bought it (about a year ago) it was much more alcoholic and sour. Lasted no more than 2-3h, mostly like a skin scent. If you are fine with that, or with reapplying every 2-3 hours, then I guess it's ok. Imo there are better perfumes in that price range.
Really nice, every day fresh scent. Suits multiple occasions and all seasons. Ive had this in my collection since 'way back then'. 😅 Fresia at the top then dries down to a lovely clean sandalwood/musk combo with a slight cream quality which lasts surprisingly well on skin. Has a comforting, calming vibe. Easily 6 hrs as a skin scent. Projects well for the first hour or two. I've had multiple compliments on this one. Layers beautifully with Jovan Musk Oil 😉😊 Gives a kind of 'I just smell this good' effect. It's a Sheldrake after all and at a really, really good price point! 😊😅 It's one of my favourite 'little wins'!
I bought this perfume more than 10 years ago and loved it immediately . For me this will be my forever perfume . Really love thw pear amd plump note . Great deal for the price and for me it can last more than 8 hours . I would say you can wear it any time , anyseason .
Honestly I bought this perfume because I thought it was great to own a Sheldrake for less than 10 Euro! I like the fragrance but it was a bit of a disappointment. First of all I can't get the pear, a note that gives the name to the fragrance should be more evident. Secondly it was this scent that made me feel that perhaps Avon is not the brand for me. Great bottle, anyway, and the juice has a unique and beautiful color. For a collector, as I am, these details matter.
Fresh and clean scent. It might remind you of an expensive hairspray. It's great for and every day fragrance.
Great fresh/clean spring summer daily scent.
Another cheap horror from Avon. At thirst i thought that i might tolerate this one but as most of their perfumes it just has something stinky in it. Don't like it.
I remember smelling it in my teens (when Avon first became a big thing in my country) and thinking it smells too lady like. Mid 30s now and I absolutely love it! It's more of a cold weather scent for me and it's the only perfume with freesias that I actually can stand, from what I've tried. It's timeless, classy, and much better than a LOT of designer fragrances. I find that it's quite long lasting too, which surprised me (although I have a small 10ml bottle, not the full size).
Smells a little bit like your average deodorant but it's still a very enjoyable smell. Lasts a decent while, would recommend.
They gave it to me as a gift when I was younger. Nothing to write home about, the scent is forgettable at best. It's a light floral, great for teenagers, but there are better alternatives with the same price point.
This is the best perfume for the people who get migraine with scents.. It's beautiful floral a little fruity fragrance for straight 4 to 5 hrs.. Also it is best for teenagers and kids... My daughters love this... My elder daughter carry her own bottle on the gym day, she said only this one stays.. Not marc jacobs not guess not d & g but this affordable does the job very well for her..
I used to sell Avon back in the day and I never really liked their perfumes. Far Away was ok but some of the others had notes in them that made me recoil. However, when Perceive came out they had a big campaign pushing the fragrance so I got a few little spray tester bottles given to me to help sales. I actually didn’t mind it, even though it’s not what I would normally ever wear. Not that I bought any, the freebies lasted me a long time. Not a bad scent.
I bougt it few times parfume and body spray it was good but not for every day. I recommend with this parfume something like little black dress parfume because this one is sometimes too heavy to wear. It is not for too warm days.
I find Avon’s Perceive a unique fragrance and not just for Avon. There are not a lot of perfumes I can liken it to, if any. Though it is not my favorite genre, (I classify it as an aquatic floral. I have no idea why Fragrantica classifies it as an Amber fragrance) I still long to wear it once or twice during the summer months. I think the mildly spicy white pepper and carnations balance out the queasy aquatics (probably the freesia and pear) for me. After the initial sharpness fades, Perceive makes me smile, there is something zen and mildly sweet about it. In the dry down, it becomes soft, feminine and comforting with the musk, woods and vanilla orchid. What can I say it is a Mr. Sheldrake creation after all.
