This to me is a 9.5 fragrance. Fig almost boozy vanilla, over a mildly woody base. Has a effervescent feel , as a man idk if can pull this off. Sadly my wife doesnt want it “doesnt like it” Gave my mom the same fragrance idk if that caused my wife to dislike it but this is good.

Such a warm beautiful chai scent. Definitely not an everyday scent for me, the “spiciness” does get to me sometimes, making my nose feel overwhelmed. I do love layering it on top of tiny bit of Al Rehab’s Choco musk oil perfume, I feel like it really brings out a more gourmand version of the perfume. Will be repurchasing!

I bought 50ml bottle. Smells almost the same like B.Balenciaga Intense. Which is a more green, tea note also very strong. When it was hyped I passed it. Now I caved in and bought. No regrets whatsoever.

The smell is very pleasant and I can understand the hype. I'd keep it around if it wasn't a skin scent. This doesnt project at all and I can barely detect it.

I already wrote a review saying how much I love it and how I like to wear it on cold weather, but I wish it would stay longer on my skin. Just for a curiosity I sprayed it today on a really hot day 35 C and I think I love it even more, plus I could smell it on my hand 7 hours later. Maybe it's a good combination my chemistry and hot weather :) I fell in love again.

On my skin I got young green coconut during dry down and then cedar, leather and tobacco. Hints of fig come and go - even 7 hours in. The Tonka bean base is incredible. I can't stop sniffing my wrist. The sillage was moderate at first, but after about 5 hours became more intimate.

Makes me think of being in a cozy but elegant tea shop while it’s raining outside. But you can’t smell the rain because you’re inside.

Do not blind buy this stuff. I'm sure it's beautiful, just not to my nose. I love tea, a little fig, I love vetiver, sandalwood and cardemomme. All of these ingredients can be put together beautifully and compliment each other. This however, just felt bombastic and somehow a bit offensive. It's very dry and very heavy. I honestly don't know what they did in order to make it that way. However, hours later, a lot of soap and water - and I can still sense the cardemomme (even though in this projection it is no longer obnoxious).

On what planet is this a winter scent??? Lol even tho i don’t believe in these artificial seasonal “rules” and categories, Tea, Fig & Iris is as Spring/Summer as it gets. Lol how is winter and Fall the overwhelmingly voted seasons?🤷🏻♂️ Fragrantica for ya

Love this DNA. I love the sandalwood and fig with the iris. In the drydown there almost like a subtle tobacco-leaf scent in the composition. Beautiful and nicely blended. Only gripes I have with the fragrance is that it sits more close to the skin. The dupe, Lattafa Liam Grey, is more vanilla heavy in the dry-down but I really love both. Still need to try them layered. 9/10

i used to have a sample of this a few years ago. now i want to buy full bottle because i MISS IT. it smells so comforting, i need it for fall weather, rainy days at home, it smells like masala chai. sweet, spicy but elegant and soft at the same time. pure luxury and comfort

A gourmand lover's first impression of this scent: old magazine/makeup brochure. Very strong, spicy opening that makes me wanna wash it off. It smells nostalgic to me but I don't think I would wear this at all. Doesn't mix well with my skin chemistry, which is sad because I love that it has fig and iris, two of my fave notes. Update: After an hour, I started to appreciate the drydown. I get that smooth, woody element that makes it smell "manly." I think I like to smell this on a man rather than myself.

I like Gris Charnel, or well into the dry down. It’s a great all occasion and all season sandalwood with some gentle powdery notes. The lightly spiced opening of cardamom is somewhat unappealing to me, almost too synthetic. As other netizens have mentioned this is a boring perfume, and that’s ok! It’s so unbelievably universal, and unisex, but I do like it for that reason. This could get mistaken on your clothes as leftover home fragrance you carried with you. It smells clean, comforting, and almost cosmetic. I absolutely do not smell Halfeti Leather here, as one user mentioned down below.

This fragrance remind me of Penhaligon's Halfeti. It might be due to cardamom note. The cardamom here , reminds me of smell coming from coconut and cardamom flavour toffies. The longevity is poor on my skin.

Like most BDK Parfums scents, obnoxious and cloying.

Smells like a warm hug from a buff hard working man in the 90's Calming but beautiful and sexy at the same time Wish it was half the price. Tea-like scent infused with warm honey. Don't listen to the fool who said this smells greasy......... What?

Анонім★★★★★

This smells so cozy to me, like the warmth and softness of being in a loved one's arms, burying your nose in their neck. On my skin fig projects quite strongly in the beginning, and the dry down is a soft sandalwood. I bought the 10ml vial first, and have now bought the 50ml.

I was excited to smell Gris Charnel for around two months. A sweet fig tea balanced by notes of sandalwood and tonka, reminiscent of chai lattes or a cozy blanket by a fire. Hell yeah. To my young, untrained, and potentially malfunctioning nose, I can only draw wood. They said the Extrait was the masculine one, I don't see it. I smell a slightly sweet wood, and if I really sniff at it, I smell moss. I should've tempered my expectations. The "Tea" is like a matcha. It sounds good on paper, and you keep giving it a chance, but every time you order it you realize it's just grass juice with a media presence.

Анонім★★★★★

Smells very woody, spicy and leans more masculine. That said it also has a clean smell to it almost like a cosmetic scent. I can see someone who works at a makeup counter or store wearing it.

Анонім★★★★★

Pretty boring tea fragrance to me. Safe to wear anywhere because it's not very strong and doesn't smell like much. I don't get why people love this one so much, so I'll keep testing to try and figure out the appeal. Personal subjective score: 5.5/10

Анонім★★★★★

This without a doubt will be a fragrance that I will have in my collection for life. To me this is a safe fragrance to wear almost year-round (excluding blistering hot summer days) especially if you like "darker" scents. I wish the performance were a bit better as I get a few hours with this and then it dies down. I need to come to terms with the expectation that every fragrance must be long lasting. As your day progresses you might want to wear something different and having a 12+ hour performer on would hinder the experience of changing up the scent you want to wear.

this made me so nauseous. it smells so heavy, greasy, and dirty

SUCH a beautiful cozy perfume! Reminds me of fall season, its so soft, sweet but not overly sweet, its has some elegance and intelligence to it, feels like being in arms of my perfect man hahah, but its not overly masculine for me, not at all, i just feel very cozy in it and like I want to stay.

Анонім★★★★★

This dries down to a dryness where I almost get salty qualities. It's pretty standard

Анонім★★★★★

This is currently my favorite fragrance. It has a sweet essence from the dates and fig and a smooth sandalwood layer. It’s sweet, smooth and rich. It’s very versatile and I feel that it can be worn any season, day or night and any occasion. I think it lives up to the hype and smells better than similar fragrances like Santal 33.

Анонім★★★★★

Over-blended quality that makes it read rather synthetic. Thanks for understanding of the following, but it's the best I can do: Indigo Smoke by Arquiste is like the Fourier-transformed version of this perfume, and so much better for it. Not actively offensive, but very few (and quite muddled) redeeming qualities. Perhaps named "Gray" because the olfactory colours that could have illuminated it are blended into slop.

Анонім★★★★★

It smells amazing. Really well crafted scent. On the opening i get a lot of fig and black tea, then it starts to dry down to a warm sandalwood and iris scent that reminds me A LOT of Santal 33 and I hope it lasts more than Santal 33 on my skin. Crowd pleaser for sure.

Анонім★★★★★

Ugh I covet this perfume but won't buy from BDK. Would love to get this secondhand!

Анонім★★★★★

I cannot, for the life of me, pick up any fig note. Maybe something in the drydown, but I mean like 2h after spraying. And I need to concentrate. It has some fake-ish quality to it that disturbs me a bit. It smells too parfumey. It’s super spicy-herbal-medicinal in the opening, and the powdery component is too prominent for me (but I do not love iris in general, I need to add). I honestly do not like it. Tried because I already had a sample, but i would not buy even if I liked it: do not agree with the political opinions they support. :)
