Prerogative

This is my first BS fragrance that I wore on a daily basis. I freaking love it. I can best describe it as fruity apricot mixed with freshly brewed coffee. Totally unisex for me. Too bad that is discontinued.

I have Black Opium, Private Show, and Perogative. I think Perogative smells more like Private Show. It smells more fresh/fruity than Black Opium which is a deeper woody scent. But they do smell similar. Prerogative is sooooo good. Omg. I just discovered it and I cant live without it. I like youthful, more fresh fruity gourmands. I don't tend to go for classic, mature scents.

I don't love it, but I do like it. It's very sweet and spicey/peppery.

Declutter/Shop My Shelves #5: Prerogative I blind bought this on release. I really wanted to like this, because I Iove coffee, but it was a disappointment and time hasn't improved it. It's weak ice coffee at best, and almost immediately becomes a skin scent. Pretty and smooth and not sickly, and I like what's there... But so little is there. Verdict: It's only 30ml, so I might use it to scent pillows. Should be cosy for that.

It’s a gem among fragrances. I love it. I can smell coffee, pink pepper, and it seems that it might be too much but it’s just perfect. It’s strong but delicate at the same time. Definitely unisex. Amazing composition. It’s such a shame that the two other from the line are not available. They’re so hard to get.

This seems to me like a darker, heavier, sexier, unisex, less sweet version of rave. It's similar to black opium but this one is creamier and less brown. I like it, it reminds me of the blackout era when that happened with britney. Very sexy 9/10 we loved you britney.🥹

I have all 3 of the prerogative perfumes and love them all. Only downside is, is that they don’t last long.

I prefer this to Black Opium! It is sweeter and better.

Warm. Spicey. And I love the coffee note. I had a bottle when it was first released and just repurchased. Been pairing it with Elysia Vanilla and it's a beast combo.

For people who say this is like Black Opium... it’s kinda not. It might give off a similar vibe, but this one is heavy on the sandalwood note. Still, I absolutely love this perfume—it’s one of my favorite Britney fragrances. I only have the 1 oz bottle and it's almost gone. I’ll definitely be repurchasing!

Black Opium's younger sister. My favorite coffee scent, slightly sweet, warm, and has just the right kick of spice. It doesn’t smell as mature as Black Opium, but it’s also not as youthful as Britney’s Fantasy. It hits that perfect middle ground. I’m on my third bottle, so needless to say… I love this one. Only complaint is that I wish it lasted longer.

Not really what I was expecting, I really don't get coffee at all. It's more a sweet, fruity, berry fragrance with a vanilla sandlewood dry down, maybe a very slight hint of latte if you really search for it. I don't really get any spiciness it's a pretty basic fruity, vanilla, sandalwood. It actually reminds me a bit of Moonlight by Arianna Grande in the opening with the strong fruitniess. It's not something I can see myself reaching for much. I find the fruitiness this has to be off-putting but I think it's some kind of scent memory I can't place, it's in Moonlight and Haya as well.

Great composition but the lasting power is truly shite.

this is genuinely such a pretty scent once layered! i personally don’t like to pick up this scent on its own, as i find its just, not enough.. though, once layered with a vanilla perfume it truly does transform the smell in such a lovely way. it stands out so much and gives you a warm vanilla smell, and its not that sickly smell either! i 100% recommend if you have a simple vanilla in your collection, but as a singular perfume? maybe not.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely adore Britney's perfumes. Having said that, this one is not what I had hoped for. It is one of the few I hadnt tried. There is nothing unique to it. Staying power and sillage are not there. It is mild so would be good for the office or confined spaces. Rate- 5/10

This is a winner for me. This scent is more enjoyable than Black Opium to my nose. Such a delicious woody scent. Very well blended & a joy to wear. I love Britney... I love her perfumes. 🤗

One of my favorites from Britney! The scent is fleeting and doesn't last for long, but I sure do enjoy it while it's there. It's like the "diet" version of Black Opium that's somehow better. It's sweeter, smoother and not nearly as bold but still has a lovely air of sophistication. I'm 41-years-old and can easily see individuals younger or older than me enjoying Prerogative just the same. :)

She's a Frankenstein of Black Opium Illicit Green and Princess by Kilian, and I'm in love. It needs a bit of overspraying to last but oh my god is it just such an experience. I love her, she's maybe my new favorite perfume.

Yes, this is divine. Yes, it’s akin to Black Opium. And yes, there is an unregistered vanilla note. If the target demographic for the Fantasy line is teens/early twenties, the target demographic for the Prerogative line is mid-late twenties all the way up to forties. Opens with a juicy pink pepper and floral burst. Dries down into a vanilla latte coffee scent. Well-blended. Classy. Elegant. Deep. I have gone through multiple bottles of this and will continue to do so. Personally, I prefer this to Black Opium as it omits the patchouli note. If Black Opium may be favoured by a woman in her forties—above, Prerogative smells that touch younger without being a teen/early twenties scent. Thoroughly taken aback and impressed by Prerogative. Prerogative Ego is also worth a blind buy too for anyone who is curious.

I've always been a Britney fan, so when I found out about this fragrance being unisex, I immediately had to order. The price was incredible. Unfortunately, it is definitely a more female leaning fragrance, I even suspect the company to put unisex label on it just to see if it helps the sales. That said, I can see a more feminine guy wear it and embrace it, but for myself I don't think I'm gonna wear it in public since it's just not my style. No matter if Britney is dancing with knives or giving us the middle finger in an insta story, she has such a feminine vibe to her that it's difficult to imagine a trully men's fragrance produced under the label - but who knows, maybe the company will find some courage to experiment and they'll do it. However, Pregogative is not that, it's trully a fragrance for women and it's really good at it - especially when you see the price. But there's no need to slap unisex label on it.

Absolutely love this one. Smells, as others have previously commented like Black Opium but I actually prefer it. I don't see it as a unisex fragrance, however, to me it's quite feminine but then again there's nothing to stop anyone wearing whatever they like! The bottle is really nice too and easier to store than the round Fantasy ones. Just got a new bottle and I'm loving it!

I'm kind of bummed because I love Britney fragrances and the notes looked amazing, but the bottle I got smelled like almost nothing. It just smelled like a little alcohol and slightly sweet vanilla. The one I bought may have gone bad or something, because I own ten other Britney perfumes and they all perform really well. I might actually buy this again to see if it was a one off.

This was a blind buy for me based on the similarities to Black Opium and it does smell like it, but only slightly. It opens up with a strong alcohol smell and once that wears off it has a slight spicy scent from the pink pepper and a bit of tart fruit. It then transforms into light sweet coffee smell which stays for a few hours pretty close to the skin until it just ends as a nondescript sweet smell. I was hoping for a stronger coffee smell and more spice. It was ok, but it did not wow me.

I’m not a perfume snob, not a connoisseur of any sorts. This smells a lot like Black Opium to me. Black Opium is always a bit jasmine dominant on my skin. I cannot justify going out to get a bigger bottle because I have this. Sandalwood and something sweet, almost like coffee creamer. That’s how I would describe this. I like this more, less headache inducing.

Does red lily smell differently from a regular lily?

A blind buy, and im happy with it. It smells quite good! Sweet fruity in a cozy way. I dont really get much coffee at first, but drydown, it comes through like a soft latte. Not too loud, but fruity as well. little sweet but not at all cloying. Its actually very nice, however it is super weak! I usually like more of a skin scent, but this is bordering to a mist, its really light! So, I guess its ok, because its not pricey at all. Very comforting and pleasant scent, suitable for whatever occasion as its very weak, wont bother anyone.
