CK Euphoria Intense: A Sexy, Discontinued Masterpiece There are, of course, similarities with the original EDT version, especially in the opening. However, as it develops, the fragrance transforms, revealing a much deeper sweet and woody character. The Scent Profile The Fruit Accord: I don't pick up any watermelon at all. I have no idea how some people get a banana note, but there is definitely a hint of melon. Thankfully, it’s not a sticky, cloying sweetness; it’s beautifully balanced. Vibe: This fragrance is undeniably sexy and seductive. It’s a true attention-grabber and a magnet for compliments. The Mystery: It’s baffling that such a talked-about scent was discontinued. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find on the market, but it is absolutely back-up bottle worthy. Performance & Occasion Longevity: For an "Intense" version, the longevity is a bit underwhelming. However, considering it’s an Intense EDT, it performs solidly for the first 3-4 hours. Best Setting: It truly shines in slightly cool weather. It makes you feel confident, alluring, and incredibly charismatic.
I want another bottle... One of the first bottles I bought... Back in 2010s... Nostalgic ✨
I was lucky that I got this beauty, at discounted price, too. Masculine and very elegant with great longevity, and surprisingly it is office appropriate which I appreciate. Air conditioned environment, mild cool weather and cold weather staple. It's not a beast mode and will not offend anyone, it just sticks with you and completes your elegance.
a wonderful scent still has that same intoxicating euphoria base but adds a dark smooth and sultry amber note to it along with a warm woody/oud depth. Still fresh and spicy with the aromatics and ginger, pink pepper, and sage/lavender combo but has an addicting smooth warm body. A wonderful take on the OG euphoria that I feel is perfect for winter and colder weather. Despite its deeper vibe it still is airy and light with average performance. A great pickup especially with the discounted prices widely available.
In my mind, this is the best fragrance from Calvin Klein. Sweet, peppery, dark, syrupy... If I got three wishes from a genie, one of those wishes would be to smell like this all the time. Why did CK discontinue this wonderful scent when forgettable, generic trash heaps like CK 'Be' or CK 'One' are still in production? I know the answer, but still... Awful decision making.
Very nice scent, one of the most pleasant scents I smiled but performance weak.
One of my favorites, Its an absolute beast, Solid 8/10 for a EDT. Great Nighttime scent
This is very similar to the now insanely overpriced Issey Miyake Nuit D'issey Pulse Of The Night, almost identical to my nose. I'm not terribly fond of either but that may just have been the combination with my skin chemistry, I can see why people would like it though.
Best cologne ever
A gingery dark ambery yet light fragrance that is subtle but very appealing the type of scent where you walk past someone and have to take a second whiff and end up having to ask "What are you wearing?" Performance is not a beast but you do get a good 6 hour with this. Sadly with all CK line they discontinue all the gems :( I have 50 & 100 ml sealed boxes available, can contact me here or for the fastest response my IG is :FragvistaCA and my email is [email protected]
Bottle Design 10/10 smells like the perfume itself Scent 10/10 smells like burnt marshmellow after the dry down Longevity 7/10 Sillage 7/10 Overall 9/10
Really good fragrance for the price , scent is dark sweet and sexy only problem is the projection and longevity The scent from the bottle - 10/10 Scent - 9/10 Longevity- 5.5/10 Projection- 4.5/10 Overall - 6.5/10
Very solid fragrance for the money. I wouldn't say this one is a masterpiece, but it's really solid as there's a charm to it that is hard to explain. It's quite generic but in a likable way very representative of the era when it came out. Sweet but not too sweet. Kind of get a banana smell with this one. Overall this isn't mind-blowing or anything but very likable in its own charming way. 8.5/10
I loved the original for several years. I finally got the hard-to-find Intense and was able to wear it. It is interesting. It retains the basil note of the original, but the pepper is gone and replaced with a melon-like note. It also contains even a black orchid-like sweetness, and the solid and bitter that was present in the original is thin. I did not get oud on my skin. I also don't get the bitter-chocolatey stuff. What I get on my skin is sweet melon, basil, ginger, and amber. It's great how they created a deep sweetness and darkness without completely destroying the spiciness of the original. If you like this, I also recommend Pasha noir by Cartier. I think you will like it very much.
Heads up, great sleeper Calvin Klein fragrance. Not sure what everyone is on about, but I get Oud right after the top has lifted away with ambers and woody touches. Tom Ford Oud Wood is one of my favorites, and when I don't want to apply that at $8 per spray or whatever it breaks down to, I go with the CK Oud alternative, Euphoria Intense. A rich fragrance that stays pretty simple after it dries down. The top is something that is not mentioned in this site and is described by CK as “Ginger pepper cocktail, Raindrop accord and Sudachi (similar to a Key Lime)” - it really is more than just ginger and pepper. This is really an amber-forward herbal that has a backbone of oud wood. It does lack the sophistication and staying power of OW. Calvin Klien's attempt at a friendly, wearable oud.
Longevity: Above average; 6+ hours. Sillage: Slightly above average, it projects well. Gender: Leans male enough to where I don't think this could be mistaken as a unisex fragrance. Price value: Just okay This is an evening fragrance that you can wear any season. This wouldn't be my first pick for daytime wear, no matter the weather. This scent is by no means boring or overused, but I would go with another fragrance if you're looking for a cold weather fragrance. It just doesn't smell amazing. I find myself barely reaching for this one as it's not that impressive. It does everything a fragrance of this type is supposed to do, but just isn't that fragrance that's going to "wow" somebody.
not for the tropics. great sillage in aircon rooms
Nice scent. It not suitable use during summer. Be careful when you spray on your shirt, since it gives marked on it. 7.5/10
It gives me more compliments than Sauvage or Y, it smells like a more masculine and mature Black XS
I like to look at this one as a hidden gem. Euphoria Intense actually keeps the original fresh Euphoria DNA, but with amber to make it sweet, and oud to make it rich. a good 2 sprays makes it wearable in the summer, and a full dose of 5 is perfect for the fall and winter. A very versatile fragrance with 8-10 hours on my clothes. I do believe that CK fragrances are overpriced though.
Absolutely hands down my favorite cologne of all time. It's spicy, but not overwhelming like spice bomb. It's warm, herbal, spicy, woody, a little gourmand, and still fresh somehow. Complex and alluring like versace crystal noir. It makes me want to cuddle and jump some bones simultaneously... even after 6 years of smelling it, I'm still obsessed. 15/10
Not a bad one, but too spicy for my taste. Opens with a very long lasting and very harsh gingery-peppery notes. Usually the top notes fades away in 10 minutes, but when we talking about this perfume, this time is around 1-2 hours. The mid part is nothing special, I sniff some slightly woody-soapy effect, but the spicies still detectable. The base is the best part, the amber+oud combination is beautiful, but the strong myrrh not fit in the composation. - classic cold weather scent, better suited for night time, but wearable in daytime too - sillage and longevity are average, longevity is around 6-7 hours on skin - safe blind buy (maybe) Scent (open, top-mid): 5.5/10 (x2) Scent (drydown, base): 7/10 (x2) Sillage: 5/10 Longevity: 6.5/10 Uniqueness: 7/10 Versatility: 6.5/10 Total: 6.25/10
I don't know where these people came up with these notes at.... I get ZERO amber and ALOT of fresh spicy. I smell tons of nasty basil up-front along with ginger. Not a good combination whatsoever. At first you think it will be a nice scent (starts off smelling reminiscent of a bowl of Fruity Pebbles cereal), but then the basil and fresh spicy aspects take over and it smells totally different after about a minute or 2. I am selling my 98% full bottle because I have tried to give it time but I just can't enjoy it. The girlfriend has also stated she is "really not a fan." I bought this over the original which I smelled in Ulta, thinking it was similar and I don't think they are very close. This was a fail for me. I give it a 5.5/10 overall.
I write my reviews for my own future reference. Opening was somewhat alcoholic, but underlying pepper and maybe ginger. After the initial opening I got a clear amber tone with warmth and the slightest, tiniest, note of spicy. I put the regular on my left arm and the intense on my right arm, and this one had character while the regular didn't have much to say. Not in longevity or silage but just in personality. Definitely if choosing between the regular and the intense, the intense is the way to go. At the same time I found the intense to monotone in its character, resonating a mostly Amber and slightly oily smell that I feel needs more to truly be what the name implies. Thought I would like this more, but left feeling uninspired. Follow up: I'm blind testing this a few months later and the opening was not as alcoholic as recalled. It was more sweet, with tiny whiffs of banana, and the oily element made me think I pulled out a tropical leaning fragrance. As it dried down it leveled into a softer amber with a bit of spice. At the price point it offers something, beyond that not much.
So, I came across this uninspected as they were a great deal and I quite like the wording "Euphoria" so I go ahead blind buy. Upon initial usage, It seems like I found another cheapie gem that I really like a lot, almost can say, love. So, it shares characteristics of my other favorite fragrance YSL L'Homme without citrus. It starts where YSL L'Homme left off with Cedar and Vetiver in the middle note. It shares Warm Spices & Fresh spices like Ginger, Basil and Pepper. and utilizing Amber and Patchouli to increase the stronger silicate and long-lasting. I would say if YSL L'Homme decided to go down with the Amber route instead of Lavender Aromatic you could probably get this one. The first blast - I get a sweet smell tricked me to think of Watermelon but it is not a very fresh one. I think it is because of the Amber + Fresh Spice. when it starts to dry down the freshness is almost gone leaving the sweet smell with mild silvery woody aromatic. It lingers in this phase for quite a while before turning into darker deeper smell of sweetness almost chocolatey. However, when it becomes a skin scent it fails quite flat all it gives is mild dark mushy wood with a tint of sweetness. Given the name intense, This works more like normal EDT. Quite strong (6-7 hours + ) with moderate silicate (45 cm. from a person). I see the versatility of use in a lot of cases. It can become one of your staple or dumb reach easily if you like darker-sweet seductive woody spice aromatic fragrance. It can be wared from Day to Night, Casual. It has a unique profile that reminds a of the smell in the modern day. However, I would not choose this as a specific purpose frag as Professional fragrance (a tad too sweet but workable). Nor a Club frag (Too shy to announce but dark enough) or Summer frag (a bit too heavy, Ambery). It fit a unique profile like the Casual & Day to Night scenario, workable in others but has much better options. It will be given you a more refined youngster fun playful guy, a master of the plan. Alluring but still somewhat good. In my honest opinion, I think it is quite worth a sniff. Maybe you might get another budget-friendly frag. Solid 8/10, like it a lot almost love it. ===== Edit 1 (Dec 16, 2022) I write this review early on the journey, for now I feel like I start to fade away from this euphoria. There is strong woody-amber here, the top is pretending to be sort of melon but I think it just strong Amber and some ingredients trick me to remind me melon. I think the part I start to feel that it effected the fragrance the most in not a good way is Black basil like it's kinda have nasty smell to it. I don't really know how actual oud smell like, but I realize I don't like the feel of wood in the dry down (I starts to know my taste that I prefers tonka, sandalwood, teakwood or vetiver). It's so bazaar just a few months in the journey could change the way you smell a thing. Current score 6/10 Personal preference 5/10
A very oud, pepper and ginger. You can smell the faint oud, however this does not last long so I suggest to over spray , or bring along with you if possible to reapply. The scent is lovely, and definitely unique for it's time. Theres just better options, but not at this price point. 8/10. Would wear on cold or chilly days for an uplift
There's nothing intense about this fragrance, the performance is less than acceptable. The scent is great though.
Euphoria Men Intense, the first male flanker of the Euphoria line, hit shelves in 2008 and its fragrance was also created by Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong, responsible for the fragrance of Euphoria Men, in 2006. Euphoria Men Intense was released in Eau de Toilette concentration, which didn't take long to change in the fragrance industry, when stronger versions started to be produced in Eau de Parfum or, at least, Eau de Toilette Intense (which is when the percentage is on the limit to not be taxed as EDP). I don't really know if the ghost of the makeover occurred, but my bottle dates back to 2011 and the performance was never completely unsatisfactory. I agree that taking into account the olfactory path of the fragrance – oriental-woody –, it was to be expected a greater trace. But Euphoria Men Intense had its highlight at that time, also because it was one of the first creations within the Designers segment to bring the OUD note in the composition when no one cared about such an ingredient, nor did it use its commercial value to embellish press releases. The olfactory pyramid lists notes of ginger and pepper, the same rain accord as the previous version, and sudachi, which is a citrus fruit originating in Japan and is a hybrid version of tangerine, although it has a similar appearance to lime. Then, the central part brings notes of sage, cedar, and basil, while the base carries notes of amber, OUD, labdanum, patchouli, vetiver, and myrrh. On the skin, Euphoria Men Intense tries to demonstrate kinship with the original version but is not very successful in this task. That's because, as soon as it touches the skin, the fragrance brings a spicy freshness that has similarities with the previous creation, indeed, but this moment is very ephemeral. In a matter of minutes, the sweeter side emerges and dominates the entire evolution. The sage is very evident, but the mix of amber and myrrh is unbeatable. The more time passes, the more balsamic and resinous the fragrance becomes. We then have a warmer and more sensual smell, which for many starts to resemble a chocolate accord. And that's not unusual because we have OUD and patchouli together in the background. Going back a few steps in the evaluations, I must say that when compared side by side (one in each arm, for example), the relationship and the way in which both fragrances evolve is very evident. However, when worn at different times (which is normal), there is the impression that the DNA was not respected in this intense version because the freshness of the ginger, basil, and pepper notes of one does not seem to exist in the other. And the truth is that it exists, but it is smothered by the ambery content that was employed here. Revisiting the fragrance these days, I confess it was a good nighttime version for fans of the original. If you, by any chance, still have both versions in your collection, I invite you to take this comparative test. So, we look back and see that much of what was said and replicated was not 100% real, but the result of a recurrent prejudice with the fragrances of this brand, which still has good surprises in its portfolio. Visually, Euphoria Men Intense came in an amber-colored bottle and the metallic finishing gained shades of a champagne color, which is not quite a bronze. After this, more flankers were released on the market.
Calvin Kline, Intense Euphoria I like Calvin’s fragrances, back in the day he was one of the designers that you could depend on for a good quality fragrance. I loved Escape and original Eternity and today I love Eternity Flame, not as impressed with some of the other flankers in that line. So, here is my opinion on IE, first the bottle, not to impressive but from 3 feet it looks awesome, up close kind of cheesy but it’s the juice that counts. So this has a great opening, no huge alcohol blast, very pleasant, on me this morphs through many changes. It starts off a little spicy but not to much then it gets a little greener, and finally the woods kick in and the Oud is not animalic, it kind of goes in a sweeter direction, but pleasant not over the top sweet. On a 10 scale the opening is a solid 9, but overall I would give it q 7.5,
Very solid and refreshing offering from Calvin Klein. The ginger and pepper pairs well, aromatic and inviting opening. The cedar, sage, basil and vetiver in the middle is a combination that provides maturity with sensuality. Finally on the dry down the myrrh and labdanum add complexity and a bit of uniqueness. I think this is a crowd pleaser, can be dressed up or down. A bit mature, but not so much for someone in their mid-twenties like myself. Longevity could be better, but the projection is fine for the majority of its life. A cheapie that's as good as more expensive offerings. 7.5/10
