Beige Eau de Parfum

Chanel Beige has a soft sunscreen-like scent with a touch of frangipani but it doesn’t smell like a typical sunscreen at all. It’s floral, slightly buttery and very elegant. It feels a little different from the usual Chanel style which I really like. It has only a few notes but it never feels simple or boring. It’s one of my favorite and it always lifts my mood.

This perfume is absolutely amazing for a hot, endless summer... This Chanel masterpiece is always beautiful, of course, but this summer, its sweet floral notes are truly captivating me. Perhaps it’s because, lately, wearing floral scents featuring "modern florals"—often with a bubblegum vibe and various ambroxan touches—had made me lose sight of what true, classic, natural sweet florals are like. Beige features that exotic, sun-drenched frangipani and golden, sun-kissed beeswax... exquisite, polished, yet playful. A gorgeous little Chanel gem 🌼🐝✨️✨️

Sniffed once, immediately threw my sample in the trash. This is the perfume equivalent of someone who continues to smile politely at you after you tell them your pet passed away. As someone who has a great deal of time for relatively simplistic, minimal compositions, I was horrified by this insipid display of non-perfume. Beige somehow manages to smell more generic and boring even than most fabric softeners I've smelled - I think this is the perfume version of the type of art that is just a blank canvas. There's nothing profound, interesting, or even alive in this perfume - it makes me feel like I'm watching (beige) paint dry. Flat, dull, tasteless, bloodless, lifeless - this perfume somehow takes something as beautiful and profound as silence and renders it vulgar, indeed pitiable in its total lack of creativity. The only thing that I got from Beige was a reappraisal on whether Chanel is doing better as a house than Guerlain. A catastrophic failure to my nose. I hope soon to forget ever having smelled it.

I tested Beige in great anticipation of something moving... in what way? I'm not quite sure, to be honest. However, whatever fragfeeling moves I was longing for were not quite met by my experience of 'nothing below the surface' Beige. Light and airy old school talc-like yellow florals with some semblance of sweetness, and that's all. I'm underwhelmed by low performance disguised as airiness.

Floral, soapy, chic. But not sweet. Nice, but not nice enough for the price.

Aldehyde + Yellow Flower + Animalic Honey. Changes throughout the wear - very reminiscent of classic perfumery. I can understand why certain reviewers find it unfitting for a modern palate.

BEIGE by CHANEL is truly beautiful and came "so close" to WOWING... ME! But it just didn't quite "get there" for..... THAT PRICE.

This is a very soapy, powdery floral. It reminds me of a luxury version of Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo from the 80s. It's definitely a mature fragrance, but it gives me comfort vibes. Like how one would look back on fond memories of early childhood, or the feeling I get looking at old family polaroids. It's nostalgic and vintage without being like the perfumes from the 80s that were strong enough to cover cigarette smoke. Classic.

Agree with the reviewer below. The name for this perfume is well suited. It is beige and boring, but very early 90’s smelling scent.

Sorry Jacques, I rarely hate one perfume that much. It is overly perfumey and totally outdated. It's like shouting "I'm wearing perfume yall!".

Very beautiful aldehidic, soapy white floral. The honey and frangipani is not that prominent as it is the soapiness and the white flower. However I found this incredibly beautiful and feminine. Summer time perfume without being aquatic or citrus fresh. Just a clean white floral feminine aldehidic perfume with its pronounced chenelesque vibe.

I absolutely loved it from the first time I tried it on paper. Got a sample, tried at home, and couldn't really sense any smell at all... Went back to Chanel, tried from the tester bottle and I got this heavenly sensation. It's not in the notes but it makes me feel like an aldehyde frangipani honey heaven. I absolutely love it and I think the sample was off (from the original store). Now my full bottle is waiting to be milked till the last drop. Sillage is more intimate but will still get you recognised. It feels young but classic, nothing cloying, not your usual frangipani scent. It is not beachy, it is classic. Does not give that sun lotion vibe. Highly recommend to those who like Chanel's classic shnit and a summery, office friendly vibe.

My grandma had installed in her home one of those motorized chairs for stairs except she didn't have any stairs. It was a '60's Ranch style one story home. She'd zip around the house in her chair smelling of Beige. To me, this will always smell like my beloved yet extremely lazy grandma who had full mobility, and would walk 7 miles a day for her health, but never in her home. She just didn't want to walk between rooms. Frangipani soap, and a lovely tonka bean dry down. It's nostalgic for me. I'll probably have to buy a bottle just for that reason. Love you 'Ma! Miss you!

Beige is a dramatically floral. In a positive way of the word. Dramatically, devastatingly beautiful. Beige is what La Chasse Aux Papillons by L'Artisan tried but couldn't accomplish. Beige makes You want to drop everything You're doing and start saying: "ahhh and ohhh tres beautiful!!".

This scent is so beautiful and first but very quickly becomes too soapy and headache inducing. A good alternative is L'Astre by Le Galion which I feel is more refined Beige with a more interesting composition.

Mature leaning feminine fragrances, well blended but I can't shake off that slight feral urine note. Seems like you'd get sick of it after a while. Maybe try La Panthere Cartier instead if this is your scene

Freesia, fragpani and musk are what I get from this fragrance. Very classic/vintage. I can see this being a year round signature. It has enough white florals that it only whispers summer with the fragpani in the background. This evokes memories of my childhood. Summers in my very Italian-American (the OG oversprayers) grandparents house by the beach. The house smells of heady white florals and old sunscreen mixed with the salt in the air as family members walk by. Musks wafting off everyone because they also overspray.

I will start by saying this: here is the situation - after 25 years of loving perfume (since a very young teen) and going down the rabbit hole with all the niches You can think of, spending thousands and thousands of $$ in my lifetime - I have come to a conclusion: all I need is Chanel. I will spare the rest of the details surrounding this claim. But after so many years, reading perfume forums daily, constantly buying and trying I pretty much know if notes sound right up my alley or not. First of all knowing my very own taste so well I thought I would absolutely want to own Comete. It was on my list to try for the longest time. Result? Beautiful, very well constructed but... Well if I had a bottle I would be happy but it is not my desperately wanted next buy or anything. Will spare details for that too... Now onto Beige. "Firstly" when I got deep into Chanel (where I have read multiple articles and reviews on every Chanel fragrance there is in the last couple of months, including The Beige and Rouge from the 40s that a "regular" mortal would never even think of digging out of the vastness of the internet haha) I thought it will bring a result of a fragrance that smells of... Khaki? Lol I mean the ingredient list of notes would have things like cardamom or honey in it. Maybe cocoa, not black or dark brown like coffee but not white like clean musk. Something in between. Beige. Whatever "smelled" beige. Like a beige coffee table: cosy and inoffensive, not "right in Your face" for sure. Well the real perfume called Beige is not in Your face that's for sure - yet it was the only thing my imagination was correct about. As soon as I clicked on Chanel Beige - I was provided with a (short) but very tropical sounding list of notes. Frangipani? That brings hot pink to my mind rather than humble "Beige". Here is the thing with tropical fragrances for me - they all sound like some exotic flower but are very generic smelling to me. I have never intentionally purchased a sample or a full bottle of any "tropical floral" perfume like ever. Because I know it's something that others may like - but not me. So what made me get a decent of this? I don't even know to be honest. I don't buy decants of Chanel but asked a friend abroad who is a happy owner of it, to send me a small tester of this. As soon as I put it on - similar conclusion to Comete. High quality ingredients. Can't escape this as it is a Chanel. Very well constructed. But You see all the "goodness" of Beige that I received I thought I would be getting from Comete. So even though Comete's notes sound like the winner in this to me - it is Beige that took me by a storm. After several hours of wearing this I get the most beautiful, and I mean the most exquisite wafts of a lovely fragrance emanating from my hair. I will say this: if someone is a die hard Coco or # 5 fan, they might find Beige too "mainstream" or generic or just blatantly... boring. But there is something about it that to me it is a must have. It just works with my chemistry but hits this special certain spot in my soul. I can't believe it - Comete was supposed to be my sweet, little softie right next to L'eau 5. But it will be this instead. It is simply beautiful. I don't even find it boring. Wow it is tropical (I'm smelling my wrist 4 hours post application) I mean tropical it is!! So why, just why can't I stop sniffing myself? Christmas is coming up... I know what I want this year from Santa!!

Initially adored it but it’s overwhelming

I was in Saks today to purchase Rose Cherie . I left with some testers and beige was one of one. This is a beautiful, intoxicating and absolutely delicious. I’m going to use the rest of my tester, but I have a feeling that I will be back for a full bottle. Love ❤️

This is hands down my favorite Chanel! Chanel No 5 was my first designer scent I fell in love with years ago, but I rarely reach for it because it’s so strong and no a daily driver kind of scent for my current lifestyle. However - Beige is!!! This to me has the Chanel No 5 DNA and vibe, but the honey and frangipani makes it a sweeter, more casual scent. The longevity, especially on clothes, is fantastic! I got 8-10 hours of this. Even got compliments from coworkers well into the work day, it left a scent bubble in my office. I LOVE this perfume! Though, I can see why if people are going in thinking this is a frangipani forward scent they might be disappointed. But, if you love no 5, you must give this a try!

I wanted to like this because I love actual frangipanis, but I have never found a perfume that replicates their scent. This one is no exception. I was expecting a lot because I know this is one of the most popular perfumes in this line, but all I got from it was a basic summery sunscreen scent, which vanished from my skin very quickly and then I was left with nothing at all. Disappointing and not worth the money, in my opinion. There are plenty of much cheaper scents out there that will produce the same result. Maybe it's just my skin, I don't know. But this is not what I expected at all.

A bright fresh floral base of Suave Ocean Breeze mixed with they powdery aldehydes of Chanel Number 5 with a hint of dry honey/beeswax and notes of pink liquid amoxicillin. The floral and fresh notes become more prominent as wear time extents, while the sweet and powdery elements fade. Well executed like all of the Les Exclusifs line, but will not purchase.

I really enjoyed the opening but it settles down into an intense tropical baby powdery scent. This scent is suitable for a more mature woman 40+. 7.5/10

From the three Les Exclusifs from Chanel that I wanted to test for years now, I expected that Beige to be an instant hit and go on my to buy list. But luckily for my wallet, I didn’t clicked with Beige. The notes listed are screaming my name, so I was like, there’s no way I am not going to love Beige… I like it, but I don’t think it’s anything special about it to worth adding it to my collection one day and the ridiculous prices Chanel charges for their Les Exclusives. It’s a nice tropical, white, sheer floral with a touch of sweetness, but the honey is minimal here and the flowers come across a bit sharp and maybe not very well balanced. I get more freesia out of this than frangipani and honey… Something is missing in this and I already have better scents in my collection that feature these notes in various combinations that I prefer way more and cost way less!!

Its very flowery to start with, but I'm not enjoying the drydown, that very green-floral scent if you crush flowers and stems alike - a kind of bitterness. Its a shame as it promises much on the florals. I don't think I'm enjoying the honey note, too sharp. EDIT 8 Nov: perhaps it was me, I like it more now and the freesia scent is lovely and noticeable now now - hope to find others like it. Unfortunately it's not very long lasting and within a couple of hours its gone.

Unmistakable Chanel DNA with the same airy aldehydes you find in 1957 or Comète. It doesn’t lean tropica, instead, it feels more like a soft, clean soap with a refined, almost vintage elegance. I really like it but I wish the frangipani and honey combo was a bit more pronounced.

With gentle soapy aldehydes and honeyed florals, Beige is a discreetly beautiful fragrance. I quite like the smell of hawthorn and I think it is used in this application to add a nuanced depth of green bitterness. Overall, with the addition of honey, and the tropical florals, it is by design on the sweet side. There is a transparency to the florals in Beige that I appreciate. It is not in anyway suffocating. It would make a beautiful gift for a bride to be. I like wearing Beige in the late months of spring and early months of summer. It blooms best on my skin in warmer temperatures. It lasts several hours. I am liberal with the application and usually use about four sprays. I bought my bottle from Harrods in 2022. Since then, the price on the Chanel website has gone up $200. While I enjoy Beige, I’m not willing to pay today’s price to repurchase it. You can still find deals on Harrod’s website and usually the shipping price is close to what you’ll pay on sales tax in the US. If you’re not set on a honeyed fragrance, you can scratch the same itch with Goutal’s Songes. Songes uses a very small amount of cumin to cut through the sweetness of the white florals. Very pretty and also quite a bit less expensive.
