A very beautiful and realistic rose perfume. If the original Chloé is a stunning bouquet of roses from a florist shop, Roses de Chloé is a walk in a rose garden, where you lean in close to inhale the lovely fragrances. I bought this several years ago, being so in love with the fragrance! But I haven’t been using it a lot, since I have kind of saved it for special occasions - even though I also have a back up bottle. My only issue is, that I have got used to wear fragrances with a little more oomph - this is such a fragile beauty. But I still love it as much. Could be a wonderful gift to a young girl, who is new to the fragrance world.
My grandma always purchased white musk and rose scented items for me throughout my childhood, I've worn white musk by the body shop thanks to my gran gifting me so much of it, ever since. She taught me how to make rose water and when I was in my teens she bought Evelyn Rose for me, by Crabtree & Evelyn. I wore the scent to my grandma's funeral many years ago. This is a convincing replacement for the original Evelyn Rose Scent, which often sells for very expensive online due to being discontinued and reformulated. I recommend this for those looking for a similar rose fragrance. 🌹❤️👌 Edit. Hey there crappy blue star balloon... How ya doin'? Long time no... Oh... Yeah... On the REAL - How did I offend ANYBODY with this review? Ooh, could it be you're just assholes? Hairy, sticky, unclean assholes covered in cheapo 'fume? Those mucous membranes suckin' it up - straight to your brains.
Roses de Chloé, Chloé (75ml., 35USD, batch from 2022 - First Impressions) A more citrus / tart-green take on original Chloé signature. The strong soapy, powdery tone in original release is reduced significantly. It definitely ride the apple-Rose-Shampoo trend, but Chloe tweak it with French element. Effortless, just right and easy going. It is really good perfume for lighter day, Beach side, Cafe, Casual walk, flower print midi with a glass of lemonade or Matcha-Latte. I personally think this is great extension to Chloé as scent (Summer de Chloé). But I still think original Chloé is more effective in performance & Heat Tolerance.
So beautiful and romantic!!! Roses are wet and fresh as if they were just cut on a pristine morning. It's like I'm a rose fairy in some magical garden. It will always be one of the best perfumes on my shelf. I just wish Chloe would upgrade it to last longer. Rating: 100/10
A slightly sweet light rose without the green that makes roses go acrid on me. Sad it only lasts 20 minutes on me. I've looked for this DNA in other rose fragrances hoping for better longevity including Paul Smith Rose but I haven't found the replacement yet
More "fresh" than a typical rose perfume. The apple and magnolia give it some interest, but it's still pretty basic overall. It does have a powdery/soapy quality. I can imagine this being worn by a 20-something who used to be popular in high school.
A clean sweet rose fragrance that feels fresh and authentic. I'm really into rose scents and this one is true to rose - it feels like a pink dewy rose at a flower shop mixed with iced pink lemonade. This mixed with Chloé lumineuse is the most beautiful combo ever.
This is so beautiful! I used to think I disliked rose fragrances but I realized I just dislike CERTAIN rose fragrances. Particularly those that smell like bowls of potpourri from the 80s. This doesn’t smell like that to me. It smells fresh and light. The rose is there but is blended so well that it accentuates the other notes beautifully. It is so classy and elegant, a bit tart, a bit soapy. All the things I love. It may not be everyone’s taste but I think it’s gorgeous for spring and summer. I don’t have an issue with longevity, but I haven’t worn it in warmer weather though. A bit later- I still think it’s gorgeous, but I’m starting to get the litchi coming through a bit too prominently for my liking. I’m coming to learn this isn’t a favorite note of mine. It starts to turn on my skin into something that reminds me a bit of a freesia note which also doesn’t work well on my chemistry. Still a gorgeous scent, just a bit less than I first thought, but it is my chemistry that I feel it doesn’t work great on. I’m still going to try it in warmer weather and see if it wears the same.
It would have been so beautiful if it weren't for the loud smell of old lady soap. I can see why people like it, however if you prefer more realistic, dewy or green floral scents this isn't it
When I smelled the tester it smelled like a realistic rose. Very clean and fresh however when I bought a bottle, it smelled like citrus, no rose at all. Maybe because my bottle is new? I put it in a dark spot to sit for a couple months and Ill check the scent after. Hopefully it will develop into that lovely rose scent i smelled with the tester. *EDIT* its been about 2 months and it now smells more like roses to me. Kinda like a soft rose shampoo, there's something very clean and delicate about it now. I can still smell the citrus but it now balances out the sweetness of the rose. Overall one of my favorite perfume scents! Only wish it could project more.
LOVED it at first, but after a while of wearing it, it started to become too grandma and not bright enough for me unfortunately. Longevity is also lacking.
The most stunning, fresh dewy rose, at the cost of the longevity being about 1 hour. A beautiful, fleeting dream in a garden.
Ah, I still remember how much I wanted this perfume to work out for me… smelled it on someone back in 2017 and got obsessed with it. Unfortunately, after purchasing it for myself, I got repulsed by it. I think it wasn’t compatible with my skin chemistry, because it was very challenging to go through the day wearing this composition. Ended up giving it away to my friends’ mom. Works beautifully on some, and absolutely terrible on others 😅 Do not blind buy even if the palette looks very appealing and familiar to you, make sure you try it first. Also, all Chloe perfumes that has that little silver top on the bottle, oxidizes very quickly and start looking dark and dirty after a few months. Not sure if that’s a common issue or it’s just humidity/ environment that caused it… but I had three different bottles of Chloe with that silver top and all of them tarnished very quickly even though I did nothing to it.
Whenever I wear this I feel like the most beautiful young woman in the world, twirling in a field. This was a perfume I lusted after for YEARS and was one of the sweetest presents my now-fiancè bought me when we first moved in together. GOD I love this perfume. I just wish it had better sillage and staying power on my skin.
A very dewy, fresh, sparkly, realistic pink rose, but it’s a little sharp. The apple adds some brightness. Roses de Chloe is a lovely, demure perfume, but not really my style. I prefer gourmands, ambers or more fruity florals.
The classiest rose perfume ever! Understated, fresh, dainty...yet sensual enough to be sexy. A bit like a Sade song; tender and sweet, but also deeply romantic and sexy. The rose isn't overbearing, but you know it's there. All the other notes support the rose and uphold it as the main note. So so so perfect. My daily scent this year.
Light, sweet and girly rose. To my nose this is generic and boring but quite pleasant parfume. Just sweet and light rose, if you want something more unique and pricey Diptyque Eau Rose is for you (similar DNA). This reminds me a bit of rose lokum (Turkish delight). Pleasant but nothing special, the longevity is not that bad. If you want parfume with good sillage then this is not for you. 5/10
This fragrance has been with me since 2014. I wore it for my wedding that September. It felt like me, fresh, romantic, full of light. I’ve bought it again and again. It’s one of those perfumes I always want around, especially in the warmer months. The lychee at the start is juicy, almost watery. So transparent, it feels like biting into fruit straight from the fridge. But blink, and it’s gone. The real story here is the rose. 🌸 Not just any rose. This one is pink, soft, just blooming. Young but elegant. Clean, airy, and full of grace. It doesn’t try hard, and that’s exactly why it works. It’s not powdery, not overly sweet. Just… beautiful. There’s something about it that feels innocent. But not naïve. It’s polished. Feminine. Refined. The kind of scent that leaves an impression without ever shouting. I’ve smelled dozens — maybe hundreds — of rose perfumes. Now, the downside: it vanishes fast. Two hours, maybe. It doesn’t cling. It’s a whisper. I wish it stayed longer. But maybe that’s part of its charm — like fresh flowers that fade, but you remember them anyway. What can I say? It made me feel like myself. Clean. Loved. Romantic.
I remember first tasting lychees in my 30s in Dubai. Seeing them I thought they’d be similar to strawberries. After peeling them their texture felt like the inside of grapes, but when I tasted them, OH! rosewater! with some juicy, tangy sweetness to them. I’ve known many flowers with fruity nuances but that was the first time I sensed a floral nuance to a fruit. When I first smelled Roses de Chloe, it transported me to that moment. The first couple of minutes are a very realistic lychee flavor, but it’s very transient. It is soon overtaken by the smell of very fresh, youthful, innocent, pink rosebuds, just starting to bloom; a very, very lovely rose indeed. Then a squeaky clean, white musk, almost detergent-like looms. The musk gradually overpowers the roses, so in the late dry down, it is mainly the white musk. Those beautiful roses are still there but are in the background now. The elegance of simplicity, a strong like from me.
I expected more from this fragrance based on the notes. To my nose it's almost identical to Idole EDT which I don't like that much. This is a green rose, not fully bloomed yet, very light and underwhelming - the best I can describe it. It's wearable in warm weather but it's not my type of rose. If you are worried that this perfume is now being discontinued, sample Idole EDT and see how it compares - it's even better and fresher than this one in my opinion.
Chloé... Roses de Chloé... what have you done to me?!? With your dreamy tangle and your eighteenth-century garden atmosphere you have really driven me crazy! To be included immediately in the Pantheon of the most beautiful roses ever created. "Delina" who?!?
Rose, all rose. Beautiful, evocative, dreamy and full of life. Feels like a promise of spring in the dead of winter. Makes me yearn for the burst of life brought by summer. Gentle but persistent. It has thorns, but only a few. Beautifully rounded, just the right amount of sweetness. It's got a slight green edge and a fruitiness to it, but just so that it makes it feel richer, this is no tutti frutti. I've been missing out.
This is the most elegant and tastefully done rose fragrance I have ever, ever, tried, and I work in fragrances and have tried many. This is simple, elegant, high class, tasteful, and timeless. So well rounded. Much more wearable than jo malone red roses and tea rose by perfumers workship; those are too green and loud. Yet it also isn't sweet, like Delina or roses & honey by michael malul. The perfect in between; it smells like real, soft, fresh roses in a feminine and clean way. A masterpiece. The only thing is that the sillage and longevity are poor. heartbreaking, but it's still worth it for me.
I love roses, especially the scent of a damask rose (my dad grows a bush in his garden). This scent is like the essence of that rose scent, soft and pleasant. I would even call it the Lacroix of rose scents. I'm actually not sure what those other notes are for, because this is just rose all the way for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long at all. I wonder if it's because I have a travel-sized rollerball of it, but this is nice while it lasts.
Lighter version of PdM Delina. Not so heavy and sticky sweet
I find this to be quite boring actually. Notes like tarragon and cedar are undetectable, and it really just smells like straight rose soap. I got a sample because a review of Diptyque’s Eau Rose said this smells exactly like it. I disagree! Eau Rose is a very dewy, fresh, green rose that feels more like rosewater and I think it has a lovely gentle sillage. Roses de Chloé smells heavier and way more soapy. It clings to your skin in a way that Eau Rose doesn’t, and I feel like the sillage is poor. I think it’s mediocre at best.
Very fresh, soft, natural bright rose. Watery. Very light, not at all heavy or dense, it would be impossible to overspray this. The scent is uncomplicated. Smells like rosewater facial spray. Does not last long at all but it will make you feel very fresh and clean while it's still there, and makes a good layering tool when you want to add a fresh rose to anything. It's lovely but take the longevity into consideration as may not make it worth it for you. I see comments that it's discontinued but it's still available for sale, is it actually discontinued?
This was a birthday gift to myself in 2022 and I took less than 5 mins to purchase it after smelling the tester bottle. I was looking for something that is less girly and fruity but still compliments someone in their early 20s, which is exactly what this perfume gives me. I normally dislike rose scents but it is so well-balanced and lovely in this.
I would wear this all the time if I weren't ALLERGIC to it. I've tried and tested probably HUNDREDS of fragrances over YEARS and had never come across something that gave me a reaction until this one. I'm sad lol.
This perfume smells like realistic roses and a touch of honey sweetness. It’s girly and classic, just doesn't last super long on me.
