Orphéon Eau de Parfum

Woody fresh scent, somehow sweet and nearly powdery. Smells like the sky without chemtrails and a nice luxurious shower with copper pipping in a large cabin made by an Amish company with expensive wood. The sweetness from the fire pit that was on last night where marshmallows had melted. A sweetness, maybe a sweet body perspiration that people who don’t have a care in the world and are vibrating high, exude. Very very nice. To me, the sweet tonka in this is similar to the tonka in By The Fireplace. I’m not saying they smell the same, just the tonka part reminds me of it.

When I die I want others to remember me when they smell Orpheon. Even in life, I hope others remember me when Orpheon hits their nose. I can say without hesitation or reservation that Orpheon is absolutely my signature scent. Orpheon may not be my current "favorite" fragrance, that's Relique D'Amour. Relique is currently the fragrance that I'm obsessing over, preserving my sample, saving for a full bottle, any fragrance lover knows this feeling. While Relique D'Amour is my current favorite, Orpheon is my signature. Orpheon is not only the fragrance I reach for on special occasions, but also when I'm alone and want to feel like myself. Orpheon is a fairly young fragrance, created in 2021 by Olivier Pescheux. Inspired by the now closed legendary jazz bar where Diptyque's founders often gathered. Due to Orpheon's recent release there's no prior memories attached to the fragrance allowing me to create new memories with each wear. In regards to Orpheon and it's inspiration, it's certainly telling the story it was intended to. Orphéon captures the elegance of Paris without feeling trapped in the past. It evokes the atmosphere of that old Parisian jazz club while remaining unmistakably modern. Rather than smelling vintage, it feels timeless, blending nostalgia with a clean, refined modernity. Perhaps some of Orpheon's beauty lies in the simplicity of its composition with listed notes of juniper berries, jasmine, powdery notes, cedar, and tonka bean. To my nose it's the juniper berries, jasmine, and the powdery notes that really define Orpheon. Orpheon opens with a brightness that slowly dims and blends with the powdery base, Orpheon settles into a beautiful and elegant fragrance that avoids feeling heavy or stuffy. I personally believe Orpheon could be worn year round with the exception of the hottest summer days. To my nose Orpheon sits perfectly unisex, there's nothing overly masculine nor feminine about it's scent. Rainy overcast days, cold weather, black T-shirts, Early Grey tea, books... These are all things that sit very close to my heart and make me feel like me. Orpheon is another one of those. Orpheon is a fragrance I plan to wear for the big events but also when I want my fragrance to give me a hug and remind me who I am. Orpheon has only two downside in my mind, its price tag and it's almost grandma-ish powdery accord. Sitting at nearly $350 for 75ml, I was lucky enough to have my bottle gifted to me by my ex girlfriend. So I would definitely recommend sampling before buying a full bottle. Lastly, the powdery notes in Orpheon may remind some of vintage "grandma" perfumes. While I definitely pick up the powdery notes I personally love the classic feeling finding them elegant not elderly. So, order a sample of Orpheon and decide for yourself. If you're a man who needs heavy woods and leathers this probably isn't for your, and if you're a lady who needs gourmands and bright fruits this also may not be for you. Orpheon is not designed to be mass appealing , it's designed to be truly appealing, it is aristocratic in this sense. So order a sample, and let Orpheon take your mind to that Parisian jazz bar. As for me, I'll keep my bottle and keep making new memories with Orpheon and hopefully before I die a few people will have my signature scent in their memories of me.

Complex, beautiful scent. The drydown is really where the magic happens. It’s what a powerful, winter woods witch is wearing on a date. Obsessed. I do wish it lasted a bit longer on me, though.

This really surprised me and I didn't think it smelled much like the notes listed online. It's a very woodsy, musky, fresh and powdery scent unlike anything I've smelled before. I liked it on paper but I liked it even more on my husband. It's addictive to smell on his skin. Will be buying a full sized bottle for him soon!

The opening notes were good, I enjoyed the journey. But wow, the drydown is where the real magic happens. Absolutely gorgeous after a good few hours.

Orphéon is a bottle I'd share with my boyfriend. And on us both, it would nab compliments and impress co-workers with how stylish we are, and what great taste we have. :) It's just... really, really nice. I get the juniper, then it dries down into something quietly powdery with hints of cedar that lasts fairly long on skin. The fragrance has an old Paris vibe and a 'modern underground Paris' feel to it at the same time-- reminds me of hidden cocktail bars, live music, and weekend nights by the Seine drinking craft beer with young Parisian intellectuals, squeezing into whatever bar's open on the way home.

Bright citrus woody herbal soap, starchy ironed shirts, fresh airy breeze fluttering the pages of old books, sprinkles of baby powder and iris. Lasts 5 hours on me.

Opening can be a little harsh, but it quickly settles beautifully on the skin, with a fresh, powdery, beautiful dry-down. Unfortunately though, performance for my skin type is nothing short of dismal after the first 2 hours, as it all but disappears, leaving just a fading note (still beautiful, real, cozy and sophisticated, but very very faint). Will restrict usage to very short events or occasions, or reapply gently. I recognize this is very skin type dependent, so try it as it is indeed a beautifully constructed fragrance.

i wear this when i want to go on a winter walk in the woods and imagine that im a wild forest creature braving the harsh weather

The hype about this fragrance is real. I've tried many scents from Diptyque and have only loved L'eau Papier enough to purchase. This is my newest obsession and went on my full bottle list as soon as I smelled it on my skin. It's powdery, woody and perfectly unisex. I tried the EDT before the EDP and thought the EDT was missing something. This is it. The original is way better in my opinion. I imagine this standing out more in the colder months but think it could be worn year round for certain occasions. I saw someone on TikTok say that Edward Cullen would wear this scent and I think that's spot on.

This one was an instant love. It's a cold, powdery, woody, musky scent with a slight floral touch. Smells like a woodland fairy in the winter. Perfectly unisex and could be worn every season. The EDP is better than the EDT

This is unlike anything I have in my collection currently. It’s good year round and quite pleasant. It’s fresh from the juniper but not masculine. The powder makes it nice and clean. The jasmine and tonka add some creaminess too. It’s nice, but not sure it feels like “me”. Nonetheless, it’s super sophisticated. Edit for rewear: I agree with my earlier evaluation. This feels like a distinctly unisex, professional scent. You get powder and juniper for sure. It is fine, with juniper being a unique note, but overall it is just... boring. There is also definitely a cracked black pepper quality too. It's polished, but grey. Its personality is "corporate". If it was a person and I was analyzing its MBTI, it'd be an INTJ or ISTJ.

The dry down is magnificent omg

This is my all time favorite perfume. I would imagine this is how heaven smells like if it exists. I get a lot of compliments on it.

ORPHEON is exceptional, sophisticated, refined, there is a stillness to it.. like a mirror flat pool in the middle oe of a forest... it's extremely grounding yet a hint of sexiness too from some sweet almost resinous aromatic. And a hint of old formula Caleche by Hermes in the dry down...I get a gorgeous hint of leather and powder. If you love Barenia Intense and Balmain Destin, this will be right up your street - both of these share that stunning sophistication and refinement. It has a real classic perfume vibe and if you wanted understated luxury, this is for you. I often layer Orpheon under a rose body cream, it's truly gives it another gorgeous dimension - what's not to love ?

If you enjoy most clean scents out there but are looking for something new but still an easy wear then try this! You may need to give it a couple wears though because I wasn’t a fan at first but love it the second time.

It’s just ok and little boring. The juniper is a nice start and it’s immediately met with a fairly strong jasmine note, the whole time very powdery. The lack of sweetness and the hint of juniper keep this unisex fragrance from going too far femme, but it’s definitely not masculine either. It really feels like a fragrance that needs to be layered to add some notes or excitement. Overall Rating 6/10.

Extremely green, yet dark. I think this leans more masculine but still unisex, just not sweet even remotely. Who I imagine would wear this: A fae (or elf) hot goths burnt out academics (must be studying something in the humanities. MD/PhDs only if they're also hot goths) Hozier bi women on SSRIs

Orphéon smells like a forest after rain. Damp herbs, crushed juniper, and wet greenery hang in the air long after the clouds have passed. It paints a picture of a woman standing barefoot in a mini white slip, her hair still wet, surrounded by leaves glistening with dew beneath a clear night sky. Fresh, green, and quietly enchanting.

i smelled this only on a paper but it was truly fabulous. i hope i’ll get my hands on a full bottle one day.
