Sunflowers

Bought this blind for the citrus notes and was very disappointed. I want to like it but it has an almost synthetic smell to me and gives me a headache.

This was my grandma’s signature scent. She wore it everyday. I now wear it in her memory. Smells exactly like flowers and sunshine. Childhood.

It was a blind buy to me. It's a very strong smell for me and when it dried down on clothes it smells like men's perfume. I'm quite upset about this blind buy. It gives me a slight headache.

this is my mommys perfume and it is so gorgeous!! its very bright but somehow also has a slight duskiness to it that is super lovely. it smells like sunny shampoo and fills the air and just smells so clean and good!!! i can smell this on my mom from across the house

Went through five bottles of this in the nineties. It has been long enough. I love it again. It was my signature scent when I was young. Still one of the best.

This is a light, beautiful floral fragrance. Sunshine in a bottle. This was my favorite perfume when I was in eighth grade. The summer of 1994. She is very nostalgic for me so I will always have a bottle in my collection, but I rarely wear her.

I blind bought this because of how inexpensive it was and what a pleasant surprise! Based on the name, I was expecting something wild and sweet like a field of sunflowers but that's not really what this. Instead, it's more like going into a florist shop filled with so many flowers and scents that you can't pick out any specific one but the way it smells is nice. It's bright, clean, and dewy. Floral without being overpowering, and while there is a little bit of sweetness, it's subtle. To me it feels fresh and airy rather than heavy or cloying. It also reminds me of going to a hair and beauty bar and catching a whiff of someone else's shampoo. It's effortless, put together, and pleasant.

A sunshine ray of amber citrus musk is how I describe this fragrance back when I wore it in 1998-2000. I through out the bottle when it suddenly began giving me a headache. This fragrance does however bring back many wonderful summer memories.

Today I looked under my vanity and forgot I had sunflowers so I decided to wear it! It’s a very clean perfume that reminds me of a bubble bath. Whenever I wear it I sometimes layer with cucumber melon or gingham and my mom always says “you smell like you just took a bath” but it really is the truth! I’ve smelt other bubble bath type perfumes but for some reason this one just reminds me so much of it. The fruits aren’t sweet and I get a lot of florals and definitely get the cyclamen. I’m a fan of cyclamen notes cause it gives it such a nice watery or even dewy smell to anything that it’s in. Sunflowers also reminds me of how flowers smell after a rain shower in the summer kinda smelling very nostalgic especially since my house always had a ton of flowers in the yard. It’s a strong perfume for sure but has a good longevity and projection and is just a classic!

on me, it reminds me of a very lemony balm akin to mosquito repellent. don't hate it, but doubt i will wear very often.

For me this perfume smells like sunny day. I blind bought it and I'm not complaining. It's a strong floral and fruity scent. At first I didn't like it, but right now it brings me to the summer two years ago when I first smelled it. I'll probably buy another bottle someday. It's literally perfect summer scent.

I wore this long ago. It used to be very popular when it was new, and lots of women wore it. The advertisement for this was, and is, absolutely gorgeous. I used to like this fragrance long ago, but I guess tastes can change as we mature. Or maybe the fragrance itself has changed—probably because of reformulations. I don’t get lemon or citrus notes at all. What I get on my skin reads as a watered-down, muddled mess. While it doesn’t smell awful, it doesn’t smell great either. At least it doesn’t smell like bug spray, unlike these modern fragrances that are so popular today. I suppose people still buy it because of nostalgia, but that's not enough to make me want to purchase it. There are too many other great fragrances out there to spend money on.

i bought a full bottle at a garage sale for $2 and it was only the bottle without the box so i had no idea what it was. i sprayed it into the cap to smell and was not excited but it was $2 so whatever ill take a chance. ive been wearing it everyday since. its somehow a mild spicy sweet mature floral fruit does that make sense. it makes me feel exactly like who i think i am

Blind bought it, do not recommend doing so. I keep getting complaints whenever I spray it. Got a headache in the first few sprays but I got used to it over time, but be warned, it might not be liked by others.

really hypnotically unpleasant to me - sprayed this to test it into the air and it had a kind of medicinal quality, smelled like my doctors office

my go to fragrance as a teen, very much lives up to its name. super fresh and joyful! it always reminds me of summer

I find this perfume clean and a bit soapy; it's not really my style. I was expecting something sweeter since it's fruity. But I think it's a great choice for a hot summer.

With my body chemistry, don't get any fruity or particularly sweet notes from this. It's a soapy, sunscreen-y white floral with some woody, musky and powdery notes - way more "clean girl" than it gets credit for, but definitely a bit dated. I don't think this is a safe blind buy for current tastes. That said, I bought it for the 90s nostalgia and it does not disappoint! Smells particularly refreshing on a hot summer day and has amazing longevity for the price.

I was 17 when this fragrance came out. I couldn't afford it and my mum wouldn't buy it for me. I remember sampling it sooo many times in each store I could find it (1994 in Buenos Aires...). The top models were wearing yellow jeans and white linen tops on Cosmopolitan and Vogue pages... everything was yellow and white that summer. I bought it in 2025 out of nostalgia. It is still amazing as a summer scent! Sunshine in a bottle! I don't wear it on me, but I spray it in my office curtains... it makes me instantly happy!

This smells like what I wish all of the dandelion perfumes I’ve tried would smell like. I know sunflowers & grow several varieties a year. But this smells more like dandelions to me, which I love. It is also a dead ringer for Calvin Klien’s Escape perfume so if you like that, but can only afford this, you’ll save yourself some money & get the same vibe, if not even have people ask if you’re actually wearing Escape. 👌🫶 Sheridan🌻

Smells more expensive than it is, elegant and fresh - a bit like sunscreen.

The chokehold this perfume had on me in 8th grade. I bought a big bottle for nostalgia purposes and idk why I stopped wearing this. It’s thick and juicy and optimistic. It is sunshine in a bottle. Definitely fruit forward anchored by a surprising dose of woods, using rose and white flowers as the glue. It’s so well blended, that I have trouble pulling apart individual notes. Spray lightly, this perfume is forever. I don’t find it dated either. I think it’s a safe blind buy if you’re sick to death of marshmallow gourmands and skin scents.

long time lurker, i made an account just to glaze this perfume. it’s that good. very warm and sunny, floral and clean. i don’t personally smell any fruit notes on me, maybe it varies by person. also this is suuuper strong, i can only use a half spray at a time. it’s my favorite out of all my perfumes currently, and very cheap!! it lasts a long time too. i can still smell it on myself after 9 hours of working. love

Cheap & Chic Light Clouds and L'eau d'Issey had a baby. The cyclamen and melon is kicking every other note's ass here, they are the only thing i can smell. Peak 90s plastic fruit eraser vibes. unfortunately i dislike L'eau d'Issey (it smells like a patch of rotting watermelons in a hillbilly farm to me, always has). although this is more linear and lighter, i definitely also dislike it... The longevity is great though !

I love the smell of L'eau d'Issey on people but I can't wear it as it smells entirely of honey on my skin and is too sickly. So I used to wear the M&S Dupe Isis (rebranded Aqua) until they discontinued it. It was my go to hot weather / summer perfume. Sunflowers is the closest to this I've found and I'm very happy.

This is always recommended for budget perfume buys and frankly I do not think it's a safe blind buy. For a scent with so many notes I love (oakmoss, orange blossom, musk, osmanthus) this fragrance blend is so linear, unevolved, and down right smells like 90's guest soap. If you ever are asking yourself if it's worth a try since it's a lower price point on discount retailers and you are under the age of 70...maybe stick with a celebrity fragrance. Those tend to be the safest blind buys I've found due to the fact they will always be the most "commercially agreeable" scents.

I bought this for my cousin because she was looking for something fresh for the summer. She specifically mentioned wanting a scent that reminds her of the ocean, and while I don’t think this is the best aquatic option out there—it lacks those salty, sea-spray notes—it is absolutely "sunshine in a bottle." Even though the DNA feels a bit old-school (it definitely has that classic 90s powerhouse vibe), it’s a very bright and happy fragrance. It opens with a big blast of melon and peach that feels very energizing. For the price point, it’s a great value gift for someone who wants to smell clean and radiant in the heat. It might not be the literal ocean, but it perfectly captures the feeling of a hot, sunny day.

If you want to know what 1993 smelled like, this is it. Back in the day, I wore this almost exclusively because A) I was a new mom with absolutely no extra funds and B) someone gifted this to me for Christmas. Aside from a few essential oils, this was all I had for fragrances. So Iike it or hate it, I wore it - I eventually came to tolerate it. I recently learned that many, many people associate this fragrance with me and most of have a positive recall - phew! So, why not for a lark, re-acquire? And yes, I still only just tolerate it. I sprayed it onto a tester strip to ensure it didn't trigger headaches or negative reactions. I was pleasantly surprised to find the fragrance had persisted well into the next day. It had mellowed into a lovely, warm, soft fuzz of yellow amber with just a mere touch of stone-fruit. Like walking into a room after someone has eaten a juicy peach or apricot. Today I took the plunge to wear it. As other reviewers have noted Sunflowers opens with a screechy blast of synthetic mash-up of melon/juicy fruit something-something that takes at least 1 hour to fade. Do yourself a favour and mist the air around you, letting it drop onto your skin, hair and clothes rather than direct spray onto skin (trust me) then hold your nose and leave the room. I applied and immediately went out of the house to run errands. The sillage is crazy on this beastie and for the first bit I could smell myself all through the grocery store and parking lot. It's still strongly detectable at the 3.0 hour mark. Once the opening screech fades it transitions into the not unpleasant heart dominated by the osmanthus, rosewood, and orris with an almost a dry, nutty, warmth of the rose emerging. It's definitely a yellow rose, much softer and sunnier - carrying what I presume is the citrus note. It's now well into the third hour and starting to mellow into that yellow, sunny promise. Yes, it is dense and yes with this sillage it does become tedious. I'll post more if there are significant changes beyond these notes.
