Especially Escada

The start is utterly charming - perfect pink roses. In the style of Splendida Rose by Bvlgari or Rosa Moceniga by The Merchant of Venice. Soon after aquatic notes come forth and it becomes fresh which is great on a hot day but their volume gets higher with time and I no longer like the scent. It reminds me of deodorant can and swimming pool. Not bad, but not natural. The beautiful rose disappears completely. However on a trail it is still beautifully refreshing though I perceive it as rather close to the skin. Similar to Bright Cristal by Versace. Surely an easy reach for hot days as this is refreshing and inoffensive fit for any setting. The performance past an hour, however, is lackluster. 3 hours and it is gone.

This makes me feel 18 again. It is everything I long for in a good Parfum: lifts me up instantly, a breath of fresh pale pink blooming garden roses after a summer rain. The sun is shining again, everything is good, peacefull and calm. The bliss of knowing all is and will be well. The world is your oyster. Like a nice tight hug from your beloved Mama. Pure joy and tranquility. This to me is "narcotique" in the best sense possible. Thank you Monsieur Durier, it is not easy to create something simple yet beautyful and classic. Classic Beauty in a bottle. You can't help but fall in love with this. If I had to choose one out of my vast collection as my only one for every day and occasion - this would be it! A precious piece of art.

Unfortunately I didn't read any reviews before purchase, I wasn't prepared for such poor longevity. Today I bought Especially and Ghost Orb Of Night Opulence. The Ghost Opulence is so strong and long lasting in comparison. But the scent profile wise I prefer Especially, I hope it had half of longevity the Ghost has... Especially Escada is a delicious young rose, pink, dewy, there's sweet pear, and lots of aquatic undertones.

This is probably one of my favourite Spring/Summer scents, I normally speak about it as "a rose perfume for people who don't normally like rose". The aquatic vibes makes the rose so soft that it's not invasive at all. It's very feminine and romantic and it gets compliments.

Nothing extraordinary for me. A usual fruity floral mixture suitable for every day use in hot summer days nothing really special. In addition i would say that is so aquatic that reminds me of deodorant.

I purchased this several years ago at an aiport. I don't use it often because the rose is very prominent as well as the musky notes, wich in some everyday settings can be overwhelming. This for me fits for like a rock concert or very crowded urban enviroment.

This is the FIRST perfume that I bought (in 30ml) when I was “big” enough to be allowed to own one 🤣. I was 17 then. 10 years later, I’m on my second bottle (50ml) and I still have a (75ml) bottle as back up, since it’s rare in my country now. It’s a very inoffensive scent: light and rosey. Good for the day and can be easily worn at night too. I like wearing it during Summer since I live on an Island, it gets really hot & EEscada isn’t too much. But I believe you should love rose fragrances to like this one. Even though the notes are in good harmony, the rose is still dominant. . I may be biased since it was my first perfume, but it’s beautiful. Lol

This is one of my favourites. I smelt this and had an ah ha moment where I had smelt perfume on someone during my childhood and it struck a chord with me. I love it. I use it sparingly because I don’t want it to finish!

could be longer lasting for the price. Its fresh, rose and gentle ylang-ylang. Its not sweet nor sour. Very easy to wear anywhere and everywhere. I like the bottle design but its kind of an awkward shape. Perfect for daytime in the summer. Its youthful but not juvenile. Easy blind buy in my opinion for any woman.

This opens with a beautiful pear note, quickly replaced by a light, airy rose and aquatic notes - the ylang-ylang is present, but dialled back and not too prominent. This is a beautiful perfume, in the vein of Bright Crystal. The bottle is gorgeous; nice and weighty. However, the projection and longevity are not good. By the three hour mark, it has completely disappeared. For the price and its performance, it is expensive and I won't repurchase again.

I love this simple inoffensive, juicy pear with roses and musk. This is very fresh, easy to wear and comfortable. The bottle is beautiful and well done. Great value for the money.

This is a really easy to wear, beautiful scent. I've been wearing it since 2012. While it's not one of my top scents, I get a lot of wear out of this during spring and summer. It's a lovely watery rose. That said, the performance is not good.

<3 I am still over the moon about this precious piece since my discovery 3 years ago. I fall for rose fragrances, and here I like the aquatic feel of it, it's so pretty and uncomplicated. Reminds me of childhood memories walking through my grandmothers rosegarden in dawn, petals covered in morning dew. People probably miss the charm of delicate florals, and it’s easy to skip over interesting ones if it doesn’t shift something in you immediately after first impression.

I do not feel any notes here that were listed. For me it is a sourish fruity scent..some kind of tropical fruits. (In a typical Escada style). If to say shortly: summery, pinky, fruity. Not gonna blow away anybody, neither impress anybody. The same vibe with Viva la Juicy Couture.

This is extremely fleeting. A watery barely there rose that is gone in about an hour. I’m not someone who needs a scent to last past about 4 hours because the fresh notes I like don’t have longevity (it’s a trade off that I’m willing to make). Still, this one performs more like a light body spray than a perfume on me.

Look, singing "I'm a Barbie Girl" immediately followed by "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" while smelling like a waterfall made of roses, and sweetpeas warmed by sunshine, and the oddly melancholy pear juice makes mowing the lawn so much easier, and I will not pretend otherwise. YES this is a silly, girly, pink juicy bubbles sort of thing, and the longevity is maybe an hour, two if you are lucky. BUT if that is worth the price tag to you then you do you, and use this as a bedtime smile/humming-into-a clean-pillowcase end to your day, or a singing along with the radio drive in to work, or I'm-gonna-smell-HAPPY-while-I-clean-this-kitchen, but it does fade fast, so either layer it with something, or use a perfume fixative if you need it to last. For me, I cannot afford the price tag against how short this lasts (without taking risks buying second-hand), but I have a single sample vial I will absolutely run dry, because this is happiness in a scent.

Love the smell of this, sweet and summer-ish but the longevity is unfortunately not there. After 1-2 hours you can barely smell it. I would love if it was much stronger!

The opening of this is gorgeous, juicy pear and fresh rose that project in a very clean and elegant way. This is one of those perfumes I like to reach for before going to bed, it's very comforting and makes me feel clean. Unfortunately, performance is really bad, it doesn't last more than 1 hour on the skin. I like to layer this with other perfumes for better longevity.

This perfume is something like eternal love for me, sometimes I am unfaithful with other ones :-), but after certain time I come back again and again and fall in love with it new. It' s also one of a few perfumes, which I bought repeatedly (I have approx. 30 different bottles, I think). Why does Especially conquer my heart? Well, one of the reasons, but for me quite important, it doesn't cause me a headache. I have so many perfumes (majority, unfortunately) by Dior, Chanel, Lancome etc. standing on my shelf almost without being used, because they trigger horrible migraine by me :-(. So luckily , this one doesn't do, even in the summer. It's definitely a suggestion for people with similar problems, give this Escada a try! How would I describe it? Actually, the name meets also my opinion - for me it's really unique and special - I have many perfumes (even really expensive by top brands) that I divide into groups - similiar to J'Adore, Trésor-like etc. This one stands for me proudly on special position - it is feminine, but not heavy-sweet-vanilla (which I don't like so much, but there are plenty like this), it is clean and somehow fresh, but without going to masculine or sharp-cologne edge (this is my problem by Light Blue or MK Sporty Citrus). It's not some generic-aquatic you have already smelled 100x before. It's compared with Versace Bright Crystal, I can partly understand, but Escada is much much better. BC has this almost masculine touch on my skin plus gives me headache, altough it's not so heavy. So for me: classy, elegant, modern and very unique perfume, which lets you breathe and enjoy the day.

A fruity-flowery creation, which totally corresponds to the spirit of Escada scents: pleasant, easygoing, sweet, but not too tropical. Pear is stated as the first note and can be sensed at the beginning, but, subsequently, the scent rather evokes cherries for me. Flowers (a Chloe-like rose is the strongest of them), being at the middle, join the fruitiness in a very harmonious way. At the basis of the composition, musk, instead of being animalic, rather has a girly quality to it. I try this in drugstores and is the most beautifully feminine scent. It is like a bowl with rose petals and fresh water. I don't think that smell chemical at all. Is pretty comfortable. It is not air freshener scent , like other roses fragances, is a clean fragrance but is not like shampoo . I feel this very natural and juicy .Seems to be very persistent on skin .I'm thinking seriously buy it.

Soft, feminine and subtile! This is a nice, fresh, rosy scent but it won't last long on my skin.

Especially has intensely sweet, woody green nuanced wild rose (dog rose) scent accompanied and intensified with sparkling aquatic notes and grounded with soft floral muskiness. The star of the fragrance definitely is rose with distinctive wild rose characteristics (as also found in Issey Miyake's Pleats Please L'Eau), however other notes prevent it from being boring and linear. There is definitely more fruitiness and freshness in Especially than in pure rose scent, and the rose nicely grounds in light floral musky notes. Ylang-ylang is the most prominent note from floraly musky drydown and surprisingly stands out even better in hotter weather. Definitely warm climate daytime rose. Staying power up to seven hours with soft sillage. Especially is not very special and intriguing, but subjectively can be a very, very likable scent.

Didn't like it in it's initial stages. There was something off putting about it. Something about the initial sweetness is just kind of unpleasant on my skin. It mellows out into a forgettable floral for me with no projection. 4/10
