Escentric 03

meh idk, it's just a very fresh lime scent, don't know about nothing else, the opening is not my jam wtv

A ginger bomb, and I'm not a fan of ginger. It's fresh, green, citrusy, and in purchasing a sample I hoped that the vetiver, sandalwood, and leather base notes would ground this fragrance, but that failed to happen. I think if someone wore this on a first date I wouldn't see them again.

This perfume is SO GOOD! First of all, it’s perfectly unisex, and great for Spring, or Summer, or whenever you feel like wearing it lol. The opening is so good! It’s zesty bright, limey, dewy green. I smell a bit of watery-ness, or a dewy note in the opening, with the green. It’s not grassy green, it’s like a smooth, watery, leafy green. The middle, I smell a teeny bit of a sweet floral, and just a very light tea scent. The floral, and the tea aren’t very noticeable. You have to really smell and search for it. They’re more like just filler notes, to blend everything together. The dry-down is superb. There is a sweet, but light woody musk. It’s definitely not too woody, or too musky. It’s just right. All throughout the day I get whiffs of this amazing perfume. The opening is a little, maybe slightly similar to D&G Light Blue, but this is smoother, and just all around better. This is now my favorite perfume for summer. I can’t wait for the Michigan summer heat to start, so I can smell this on my skin, in the heat. This dry-down is going to be amazing. I highly recommend this, if you’re looking for a great Summer fragrance, that’s not “blue” or “oceanic” leaning, but instead, wonderfully green and sweet.

Escentric 03 is a gorgeous blend of woody notes, bright line with hints of clean ginger spice. There is also a deeper set of background notes that add something of a musky-earthy nature and tea like, it reminded me vividly of Japanese green tea that I unfortunately can’t remember the name of that I once smelled in a tea shop. The opening and the dry down are basically identical on the nose to me, with just a little more lime on the opening then the dry down. Escentric 03 is fairly basic as a fragrance but not in bad way. The scent profile smells complete to me and not lacking. I’m not sure if it could have benefited from more notes or if that would have made it overwhelming. I’m leaning towards the second however. On the perfomace side Escentic 03 unfortunately isn’t very good on the longevity side of things, I got about 4 hours of wear on both my skin and my clothes. 4.5 hours at max. A 5/10 for longevity. The projection on Escentic 03 was phenomenal for the first 2 hours, projecting easily about 3 feet around me. After the first 2 hours it crashed down to a skin tight scent, rising maybe an inch off my skin. A 6/10 here. Escentic 03 is very good but I think even though it is a complete fragrance from Escentric Molecules, it seems to lend itself much more to being a layer fragrance like the Molecule series than a wear on its own fragrance. It’s a 5/10 for me as its own fragrance but I would rank it as an 7/10 if it was being bought for a layer. I continue to love lime citrus notes in a fragrance, this is the second one I have tried and it just seems like such a great note. The biggest issue I have with Escentic 03 is that it just doesn’t last very long, another 2 or 3 hours of longevity and an hour more of strong projection would’ve done so much for it both as a fragrance and as a layer.

Feel like I’ve smelled this so many times before

It's a wonderful, sophisticated, soft scent that can be worn at any time. I don't know of anything better in its category (but maybe I just don't know enough scents :)) I love it.

Blind bought this because I enjoyed the Molecule 01 + Ginger decant I picked up for travel situations. Wanted to try one of Escentric's formulations and went with this because of the ginger note. First impression: The lime hits immediately - my mom and grandma always wore a perfume that had a grapefruit top note and was super powdery when I was growing up. My senses took me right back to that immediately, with this one having a much more masculine lean to it with the pepper - almost definitively so, to the point I wouldn't call it unisex. The ginger is vaguely there... imagine eating at a sushi restaurant and having the tiniest *strand* of ginger with your tuna nigiri. Overall, very "clean". The drydown: The vetiver and leather stick around most prominently to me, with the sandalwood sort of being there. I did experience the sort of "sourness" others describe after ~8 hours or so. I don't think it's bad, but it definitely does its best work in the first 2-3 hours, so plan accordingly. A good spring scent - interested to see how it does in the summer.

It's very woody-green and fresh, not a hint of sweetness, but hopelessly weak. You need to reapply it every couple of hours to get anything beyond "woody" out of it. I'm sniffing my arm right now and it feels like I'm vacuuming the fragrance off my skin. Maybe it'll work better when it's hotter outside... UPD: it does work better when it's hotter outside. A decisively warm weather fragrance.

Subtle, gauzy, and very powdery. The most prominent notes for me are iris and vetiver. There's a tiny bit of tea and ginger in the beginning, but it fades quickly. If this wasn't so powdery, I'd like it but it's a little overpoweringly so.

bit better performance than 01 but still dissipates after 20 minutes. leaves a breath of woods after an hour. in the beginning i got a masculine vetiver with a peppery tea note i liked, but leaned too manly on me. detected a bitterness i couldnt place, but once again these all left chat after half an hour. I got this fragrance because I wanted something fresh, clean, aromatic but also neutral and subtle. And this is it. It's bursting with freshness. The opening lime note smells so genuine. This is citrus with ginger, black pepper and tea. It smells like those actual plants. Like dark green leaves. Like crushed black pepper corns. Like freshly grated ginger. It dries down to something more subtle, green and woody. And something clean and white like the smell of paper. I wouldn't say it's very unique or complex but it's a good quality fragrance in this genre.

tequila chased with lemon clorox. offensive quite frankly

I would say this is the most generic scent I own. I'm not even sure why I bought it. Maybe it was the hype of constant advertising at Lucky Scent in LA. The perfume first of all has a name that is confusing because it is almost the same as a single note they make called Molecule 03. Then there is the mystery of whether this is a perfume, or a cologne or an eau de toilette. I don't see any labeling on the bottle. When it is very hot out, like it is today, and the weather is annoying, with smoggy air and stuffy rooms, and the need to run fans and/or air conditioning, I reach for this because it smells clean, and has a certain gin and tonic, medicinal quality. It is also good for the toilet area in a bathroom because it wipes out offensive odors. But it lacks sex appeal, mystery, gender, elegance, personality. It is a dry fragrance, humorless and bland. I would recommend this to a 47-year-old accountant in a Swiss office park whose clients are elderly men and women pensioners. It would also be a great fragrance if you had just used glass cleaner around your desk, and wanted add something non-toxic to the air.

i love that lime & ginger combo... as it dries down you really get the pepper notes. as time goes on, i really smell the tea. the herbal notes are quite nice but i wish it lasted longer. def unisex but maybe more female leaning. would layer nice with other woody scents. i wish it lasted longer..

Strange experience that does not become less strange when I see this compared to Encre Noire and the like. I perceive it as a bright, slightly more unisex version of Yves Saint Laurent’s L’Homme from 2006. Pronounced citrus and ginger, the tea note is not bad. Given that my perception seems to be so different from other people’s, I suspect there is an eccentric molecule (pun only partially intended) in there that I don’t perceive, in the same way that I almost entirely miss the vetiver in the OG Terre d’Hermès. Vetiver is just a hint for me in the latter, hidden behind some petrochemical sharpness, whereas here, it is more like an afterthought. E03 is hard for me to grasp entirely, in fact. It is as if it there is something in the distance waiting for me, but it never comes any closer. Very fascinating but not really interesting. PS: I have worked professionally with my nose several years in restaurants, it is only about certain modern perfumes — not any natural products — where I feel I am countercurrent at times. And it only applies to creations post 2005 cirka. I am pretty sure there were some innovations in aroma chemicals around that time, that simply work very different for different people.

My 5th try at an Escentric fragrance. None have worked well for me. Appreciated this more than Molecule 03. Had more character. A bit of citrus up front with a dirtier Vetiver base. Far less generic. Better performance. But there are 25 Vetiver fragrances I enjoy more.

Escentric scents are best for when you want to wear perfume in circumstances where you're not supposed to wear perfume, like a trip to the dentist's office or sitting in a theater or music audience. You and other people rarely notice you're wearing anything, but every so often you get a whiff of what's in this. This is fine for being discreet, but otherwise it takes out what for me is the greatest benefit of wearing perfume, which is enjoying your scent steadily. I could smell this very much at the opening, when you get a real blast of the lime and ginger and (especially) the vetiver, and I did pick up on it odd moments through the rest of the day. For what it is, it's quite nice. But I'd rather wear a genuine vetiver scent I could smell on me more steadily. Fine for the office, but pretty pointless elsewhere.

Lipton Ice Tea Green 😉

Soapy, barbershop-type scent. I can see the comparison to encore noir, though it's a bit brighter and not as deep/woody.

This is so incredibly simple for a complete vetiver scent, yet it somehow works for a great daily driver. I would imagine Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum would blow this out of the water as an office vetiver scent though, but if you’re a younger vetiver lover, this might be superior.

It reminds me of mud or soil after the rain, but in a very bad way that I didn't think was possible. There is also some sharp plant smell that bothered me.

I can't lie the opening smells like isopropyl alcohol immediately followed by green tic tacs. My skin chemistry is definitely at odds with the synthetic components of this fragrance. I'll give it some time but damn! Not a good first impression.

A happier, more summer, beachy version of Encre Noire.

It smells like E01 but with more a green herbal medicinal touch.

It's much better than M03; E03 is a no-go territory. I actually wish this is scent was mainstream, and worn by everyone, unstead of those Sauvage, Invictus, etc. I think it's better than Encre Noire & Co in terms of quality; not that they smell that similar though. Anyway, it's OK, but it's a pass.

Begins with a punch of fresh green, then spice+ginger+lime. After a minute all the notes mix and form a kind of woody spicy 'Asian herbal medicine' scent (in a good way!). Very calming and also unique.

Rediscovering Molecules again. Haven’t smelled them for ages and I must admit that I love it. It’s simple but complex at the same time: fresh grapefruit, nice black pepper, aromatic notes and vetiver. Lovely combo! Follow me on IG: scent.guide
