This might be the most realistic and true-to-life garden rose scent I've ever smelled. Finally, a rose without vanilla, spices, or sugar! As long as I can find it, I'll definitely keep using it for a very long time. Whenever I wear it, it makes me feel deeply feminine and sensual. When I first sprayed it, I noticed a sharp green note hitting my nose. However, as the bottle settled over time, that soft and delicate rose scent really came through. It feels so dewy. Absolutely one of my top favorites!

37°C it is strong, creamy, soapy and rosy. Like pampering cosmetics. Rose cream or body balm. Musk dominates the rose. I feel also peony, magnolia and vanilla. Anise adds maybe a few notes, and verbena too. It is a very characteristic scent. I liked it outside on this hot evening, inside it feels too strong. I am wearing the old version today. But an evening out in the open? Perfect. Sensual and magnetic.

This fragrance takes me right back to 2003, to Europe during the fall, when it was released. It's such a powerful yet discreet sweet fragrance, one that makes you feel universally chic on a cold day. I can smell the rose notes right from the opening spray, and what I love most is that these are not the sweet, girlish roses of fragrances like Miss Dior. The roses in Very Irresistible feel fuller and more mature, perfectly intertwined with the musk and the other base notes. Its projection suits the entire experience: neither too quiet nor too intrusive. It lingers on my skin throughout the day, and I love the feeling of its presence on my clothes and hair by the end of it. It is a beautiful fragrance, my favorite from Givenchy, and I still have my original bottle from 2003, which I wear on very special occasions, as this beauty was discontinued; a shame. Its successors and later versions fall very short compared to the original, so much so that I never bought any of them, as they smell very different in a way that makes me disassociate them from this unique fragrance. Again, Very Irresistible for me can be defined as the soul of 2003 for fragrances, and whenever I wear it, I carry so many memories with me. Liv Tyler, the ambassador of the fragrance, leather jackets, special dates with your loved ones, and "White Flag" by Dido accompany me with every spray.

I have to add- definately the best rose fragrance out there ! If you can get the OG from second hands on internet.

Loved this when I was a teenager, but it seems a bit elderly now, with how floral it is. Still, I enjoy it.

Анонім

Does anybody know, did they change the bottle? Is the same perfume now in sguare bottle? I can't figure it out, but I feel nostalgic about this one, and I would love if I could a change to repurchase it again.

The first perfume i bought myself, I remember this smelling sweet but also luxurious and grown up. I imagine it’s discontinued and if it’s not, i need to take a whiff for nostalgia’s sake.

Aaaaah I simply adore this one. For ever my ever first fragrance. Hitting the puberty. The adrenaline rush. Memoooories. 🎀💓🌸 If you wear it NOWADAYS - do so in summer and I guarantee you will be asked what is it ! It is so different from everything contemporary. It is sexy elegant animalic seductive FLORAL BOMB. I however made a mistake and purchased very pricey Edp Sensual version only to realize that I should have bought this old version on ebay. This is waht u are looking for. Sensual edp simply isnt that bright sparkling rose, it is tond down and calmer and different.

I love the rose. The patchouli isn’t overpowering. They complement each other well.

Obsessed with this when it first came out. So wonderful in the Fall, on rainy days, also carefree days in Summer. A rose I could really enjoy on myself (not sour/screechy). The last formulation I sniffed was horrendous and didn't smell anything like what I remembered. My bottle was the original formulation, in the original bottle design. Classy and fun.

this, to me, is like if you bought a bouquet of roses at the grocery store and then used a heat gun to melt the plastic wrap it comes in onto the flowers. There’s something sharp and slightly sour going on here. Not a fan

Deep connection with this as it was my mum's fragrance for work. I own a coat she used to wear and it still has hints of this. Floral without being overly fun. Graceful and welcoming. Very pink in nature, but grown-up and astute too. Effacious in every sense. This one is very special to me.

As someone who doesn't like lemon or musk or magnolia..... this smells like the cleanest best version of a rose with all aspects of the aforementioned notes. I know this is not a 'musk' perfume but this is my version of a skin like musk that isn't screechy or too citrus or yucky. I don't like flowerbomb but have smelled it and owen flowerbomb dew and this is what Viktor & Rolf WISHES those perfumes could be. I would say this is a cold but sunny spring day floral with a little something more interesting to it.

Reminds me of cleaning product. Lysol aerosol spray, being sick in bed, my room is sprayed down with it. Terrible.

Анонім

I love this smell it’s a clean spicy rose with a nostalgic vibe. It performs amazingly and only requires a spray or two. I’d wear this more however I find others don’t enjoy it and find it old lady vibes which upsets me as I love it so much!

Simple yet lovely. I really enjoyed wearing it when it came out, with its pretty notes of rose. But not being a big fan of floral perfumes, I quickly got tired of it. It nevertheless remains a pretty perfume.

Анонім

For me, this is rose done right. It's not the powdery, perfumey rose, but a natural, green, garden rose. It's got a hint of greens and floral sweetness. The dry down is quite lovely. It's spring in a bottle.

Is this for the edt? I have a sample of the edt and I didn’t care for it when I tried it, but now I tried it again in this very hot humid weather we’ve been having and it’s great. A sparkling, sunny, effervescent rose. Pretty and feminine and light, but long lasting. Perfect for summer. I put it behind my ears and am getting whiffs and it has a positive aromatherapy effect for me. Definitely getting a full bottle, I don’t think anyone wears this anymore so that’s also a plus.

I wore this daily when I was about 16. It suited me well at time. I bought it for the 20th anniversary & for nostalgia. It was the first perfume bought for my collection, which I just began this summer. I hadn’t smelled it since about 2005, smells as I remember. I consider it more of a fall / winter perfume, but is suitable for evening date nights. & I didn’t initially think I would wear it much. & didn’t. I thought it was a bit too “boho” with the patchouli, which isn’t my current style … more dark & sophisticated. Anyway, I felt like putting it on last night. & it seemed like it just suits what I’ve been looking for as my signature scent profile: romantic, sexy, spicy, vanilla, feminine, floral. Femme Fatale vibes … & it lasts a long time. I applied before bed & can still smell. I can also smell it on myself for hours while wearing. I’ve now tried many perfumes & have purchased many samples & bottles. Tried different scent profiles. But it’s funny sometimes, you’ve had it right the first try as a teen.

My new EDT performs and lasts exactly as the original Very Irresistible - does anyone know if the original release was actually an EDT? A few years later, I tried the purple bottle EDP and thought it was going to choke me to death, the anise and patchouli were a hefty combination in the EDP. The formulation was definitely stronger, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't my body chemistry... 🤷 Bright minty opening, I get no lemon verbena per se, but a very lemon-y rose. The anise is bright, like I get the feeling that i should be sneezing my fool head off, but it never takes it quite that far. It's like the fun part of the sneeze when your like 'uh oh, uh... I guess not' without the irritating burn. Anyhow, the roses are beautiful, real, and long lasting. The patchouli is so well blended that it can't be picked out but lends the earthy sent of the garden the roses are planted in. Two sprays are adequate, but today I couldn't help myself and went for a third. I'm not sure why I did, it doesn't induce a headache, but then it's all I can taste. Lasts in my scarves for days, lasts on my skin for over 12 hours. This is all anise and heart notes, the entire time. I love it. Not too heavy for 90°F summer days, and not too light or delicate to take a -8°F winter jaunt outside. [I'm from "upstate NY", the weather is a roller coaster.] I think I may have gone for the 3rd spritz because the air is thick with forest fire smoke from Canada today, and I don't want to smell that. I receive compliments from men and women. No one else wears this where I live, so that's a major plus. I have found that men do find it very irresistible, VI certainly leaves an impression. I hope this says around for a very long time. I can't smell the anise, but I can feel it... like a slightly minty blast - that cold feeling lingers. Humid weather makes her stretch out a bit farther than my arm's length, she definitely is an invader of personal space when it's humid, but she's not obnoxious about it. No one has ever, ever complained about this fragrance. I have family members who are very sensitive to fragrances and even if I go overboard on my spritzes no one gets a migraine. My all time love and signature is Hot Couture, this is a close second. While VI will never replace HC, they both have a place in my heart.

I sprayed this onto my skin when I was at a David Jones here in Australia, so that I could find out how this perfume wore and transformed throughout the day and what it smells like. From what I can smell, it is a moderately spicy rose fragrance that is wrapped in a cloud of anise, patchouli and magnolia. There's a slight citric quality from the magnolia and the lemon verbena and a warmth from the musky base. The rose and Taif rose notes are definitely dominant in this perfume, but it's not a soliflore and this perfume has a lot of depth, complexity and sexiness to it. Very Irresistible by Givenchy then lasted about 7 and a half hours on my skin and it gave me a scent bubble that I would consider moderate. It's not a headache inducing fragrance at all and I find it quite sophisticated and grown up smelling. Maybe slightly mature for my tastes, though. A bit too spicy, too. I do love the beautiful and radiant Liv Tyler in the advertisment/commercial for this though! For all of these reasons above, I give Very Irresistible by Givenchy a respectable 7/10. I wouldn't buy it, but I find it very pleasant smelling.

This is the old formulation of Very Irresistible, one of the few sexy womanly roses in an ocean of pink girly princessy roses, mainly because of the fresh soft spicy anise, which gives it a mature oomph.

Анонім

One of the best perfumes on a woman. It should be called extremely irresistible!

Анонім

I like this perfume. Nothing bad to say about it. I think it’s very nice and aromatic. Stronger than Irresistible. I would like to try the irresistible it’s more sweet with a slight hint of fry musk. The very irresistible has a stronger musk but nice and floral.

Анонім

I am one of those very few that can not smell anything other than anise. Super powerful, super intense, and its kinda being too much. I mellow it down with something very fruity, but that anise is right there, so I am definetly not loving this. I dont hate it but i wouldnt use it in hot summery weather, its for cold nights to me.

Анонім

It's an okay spring scent, fresh and slightly synthetic. Not a clean fresh, slightly powdery. I don't like it as much as I thought I would based on the notes. I wouldn't buy or keep it if gifted. Really only good for spring time. It would make a nice scent for a body wash. I can understand why people like it, but it's not for me. Silage is arm's length. Lasts a long time on the skin 10+ hours(nosiliage), age 35+.

Анонім

I absolutely love this fragrance. I've been wearing it since 2005. It starts out rather bright on me and then transforms to a very sultry rose and anise scent, yet still maintains some brightness. This is a bit of a man killer scent for me. I even had a gay friend once tell me that I could turn him straight with this perfume! (Obviously joking) : ) While it has been reformulated and isn't as strong as it was, it's still an absolute powerhouse on me. I can do two sprays max of this or it's too much.

Анонім

I've owned this one for many years. It's a beautiful take on rose, with anise giving it a lovely "kick". I'm always complimented by other women when I wear this. Perfect for spring and summer. Refreshing with a bit of feminine sensuality. Performance is great too. 6+ hours.

Анонім

I got it for my wife as a blind buy, The Rose and Flower are bombing from the beginning, it fades after 30 minutes to be sexier, making me want to eat her. Silage and Longevity are above moderate This is totally not a teenage fragrance, 25+ ages

Анонім

My most loved and used scent throughout my perfume obsessed life. This really sparked my fascination of perfumes as a whole. The scent quite simply makes me feel beautiful. It’s not the grandma rose scent that one would assume by the amount of rose notes listed. It’s a bright, slightly fruity, modern rose. I don’t reach for this as often as I used to, but to date it’s the only perfume I have repurchased time and time again. My ultimate classic signature fragrance. It is long lasting, and the dry down is a beautiful, rich comforting rose, like wearing a warm fuzzy sweater in a rose garden.
