Gentle sweet lily, not the heavy headache inducing one. To me it smells like a lily surrounded by greenery in a pond, aquatic lily. May be the name ” bamboo” is creating an image of a water lily in my mind, may be it is what is intended. Sophisticated white haze, very fresh and cooling.

It's okay, and that's all I have to say about it, really. Extremely boring, but it smells fine. No one's going to be asking you what this is, and if they did, you could believably say hundreds of different perfumes, because this is the definition of generic.

A white floral perfume that would be really nice if it didn’t smell like pee. It’s like spraying pee and an airy floral perfume.

Confusing since the name is Bamboo but the notes don’t include bamboo but I still smell bamboo at very first.

This is a soft, fresh, and floral scent. It's very clean and classy. The initial spray is heavy on the floral while the dry down is giving more fresh. I had a dupe of this in a body oil and absolutely loved it. However, I'm not loving the actual fragrance the same, but I do like it. It's not long-lasting and sits very close to the skin.

Just boring and doesn’t smell like bamboo

Not a fan of this one. I’m not big on floral forward scents in general, but that itself isn’t the problem. There’s a note in here I cant exactly put my finger on, it’s a weird kind of musk, it’s heavy and adds this musty undertone to an otherwise fresh floral scent

The bamboo title is misleading, just a very aquatic lily to me. Basic and boring, slightly nauseating to me too. Lucky I only got a small sample which I’ll probably use up as a bathroom spray. 1/5

Got this as a Christmas gift from my family years ago but I don’t wear it much since it doesn’t really match my vibe. Really pretty, elegant lily with citrus. Understated and delicate floral, good for everyday wear. Why is it called Bamboo though… it doesn’t smell like bamboo or project any kind of vibe or feeling of bamboo…

Hands down to my favorite Gucci fragrance 👏🏻 I FREAKING LOVE the lily note here its ssoooooo good I usually dislike most of the lily scents cus im REALLY picky when it comes to lily lily can smell either like the best florals ever or dusty pollen mess For example I severely dislike the lily in scents such as PLEASURES INTENSE ESTÉE LAUDER Or even TRUTH CALVIN KLEIN So much pollen and wax and muffled and suffocating But gosh i love it so much here and in 212 NYC by CH Its so airy floraly fresh a bit creamy and a bit like jasmine No wax or pollen or green here And heck that bergamot was SPOT ON Without the bergamot the scent may turn a bit heavy The bergamot shuts the hell down any waxiness may come from the lily And the ylang is just like a cherry on top Even the ylang here is soo soothing and balanced In terms of smell i prefer the EDT but i ain’t gonna sacrifice the projection for the sake of smell this does smell amazing either I don’t mind the moderate projection it last a good 5 hours on me i like it A HUGGGEEEE LOOOVVVEEEEEE

I get mainly the florals that last and I like the non offensive or heavy scent. It's good for those who like a perfume that doesn't enter the room before you do and those that need to wear appropriate fragrances in consideration of your co-workers.

this does nothing for me. i get a slight whiff of freshness and citrus and the start, but after 30 seconds theres literally NOTHING.

Hmmmm, if you are looking for the smell of scentless solid bar of soap: you found it, this is it. It starts interesting, but undefinable, and within 10 minutes turned on my skin to the smell of a bar of soap, a scentless one at that, something so flat, boring and generic. I cannot smell the bergamot at all, I cannot understand why the second accord note is citrus I did not even smell a hint of it. Bid let down.... I guess the only pro for me is that it is not sweet (I hate sweet scents) despite the vanilla at the bottom notes (vanilla usually makes me gag and cough), and it is not overwhelming, it is subtle. Edit: I will amend my review a bit. I don't know what is it with this perfume, but I actually keep coming back to try it. Something there grabs me back, even though I still cannot figure it out. I guess I got used to it? Surprise.

Many people here have mentioned Bamboo has a strange specific note that they can't put their finger on. To me it somes off as a strong mustiness - my hypothesis is that it's a specific musk used at the turn of the century. I recognize it in the bases of fragrances such as Gucci Guilty (the original), Crystal Noir, etc. From what I could see on our forum, a lot of people find it magnetic. I for one love it and am very happy when the sweet tartness of Bamboo disappears 1 hour into wear to let the mustiness come to full bloom

People going into this expecting a bamboo scent, this isn't it lol. The name is based off of their classic bamboo handbags hence the top of the bottle resembling the bamboo latch on certain bag styles. The fragrance itself is very clean and corporate, but I don't mean that in a bad way. More of a "I know exactly what I'm doing" kind of way. Nothing showstopping, but has been a favorite for me since it came out. Signature scent worthy for some. I will always repurchase.

This screams: Easter brunch at the country club. It's classy, refined, "fancy", cool-toned floral. Lillies, citrus, and vanilla. If there was a fresh/woody bamboo note, good lord this would be a home run. I truly wonder how fragrances even get their names. Regardless, this is very nice.

This one I love her!! i have repurchased already on my third bottle but not because this is my favorite fragrance , it is simply because it is SO wearable I have to deal with a hot and humid city everyday getting to work so this gucci bamboo is working overtime to uplift my spirits while I'm tortured by my environment . it's so inoffensive and pretty for work , coworkers who openly gag and rebuke perfumes have complimented this , the freshness cannot be denied , also the overall projection is low BUT i have found it totally depends on where i am and the temperature , when i am outdoors she is very quiet , but once i step into my AC frozen office building , on the elevator etc she comes out again , this is not the type of summer fragrance to wear to the beach or while doing any exerting things , this is meant to be experienced by people you briskly walk past in the boardroom or while at the mall. It doesn't mix with sweat well , it just fades away. Overall the sillage and longevity leaves much to be desired but the bottle isn't too pricey so i think it's manageable with resprays. The bergamot is the perfect note of freshness to start with it's kind of reminiscent of the kind of jasmine-lemon barbershop aftershave your arab dad would come home smelling like, the ylang-ylang which comes after is truly the star here tho , it's light but creamy like that half sip of foam at the top of a non alcoholic Pina colada and reminds me of an expensive shampoo . Unfortunately I don't know how to recognise lilly in this , in other perfumes i feel lily gives a slight floral funky smell, which i could not find (and did not miss! ) in gucci bamboo. The fragrance overall feels like soft curves , theres no sharpness but a satisfying citrus floral white musc balance . This is a woman who smart and put together , unpretentious . She's got her journal and calendar neatly filled in and well balanced. Feminine but not really girly, i think this would also be great for those who are into wearing mens freshies and cologne type scents but want to try something more fem. It's not too complex a scent , it's well balanced and does it's job nicely . It's something that would fit right in a capsule wardrobe, it's a staple basic freshie 👍

It smells like fresh cut bamboo its weird but i love it

Oh, I liked this one! It 's playful, and strong, and interesting! There is something in it, a small detail, I can't tell exactly what, that ruins it a bit for me. But generally, it is adorable. I would wear it in specific occasions, meaning this is not my signature perfume but I surely do like it a lot!

Fresh and gentle scent, very clean. Hard to pin down the individual notes I am smelling, everything blends together in a lovely and crisp way. Reminds me of an elegant wealthy business woman in a tailored power suit, her high heels clicking down a marble floor as she heads to the corporate suite where she makes big decisions.

This is such an elegant fragrance. It’s a lovely, creamy floral that remains soft, clean, and sophisticated. I think so many floral perfumes smell inauthentic and synthetic, (“too perfumey”, if you will) but not Gucci Bamboo. I do agree with other reviewers that calling this perfume “Bamboo” is confusing due to its lack of green notes, however this house really knows how to do florals well and I just love this so much.

To me it evokes a lemon tart that is not too sweet decorated with som flower petals ! Not exactly edible but... It is creamy (almost buttery), slightly woody (not sharp), with a lot of bergamot balanced with a hint of sweetness. Super smooth blend, it's serious but cozy at the same time. Great for work or even a signature scent. It gives off this put together elegant lady. Perfect for fall IMO, wearable during winter and cool spring days, NOT IN THE SUMMER cause the heat makes in screechy, especially on skin. One of my all time favorites.

🛑GUIDE REVIEW🛑 🛑EVERYTHING ABT BAMBOO THAT U NEED TO KNOW 🛑 I do like this scent a looottt but there is a lot of misunderstoods about it let me discuss everything to u guys 212 NYC is my signature scent and i do own also the 212 se6y so im pretty sure i know exactly everything about 212 NYC Gucci bamboo edp doesn’t smell similar to 212 nyc but the bamboo edt one does 212 NYC has a super peppery spicy lily note that I don’t get here but i do in the edt one Dont get me wrong its spicy but more like a creamy waxy baiser volé cartier type of lily In the edt i get jasmine and musk really noticeable and it makes it really close to 212 NYC In the other side the edp bamboo has a creamer less spicy lily than the edt did u get it guys ? This smells very similar to Tommy Girl from Tommy Hilfinger to my nose. Does anyone else get that? While I do love the scent, I find Tommy Girl is more intense and lasts much longer on my skin than Gucci Bamboo, so for the price difference, I’ll stick with TG.

This is a love for me! I have always loved Gucci perfumes. I’ve owned, Guilty, Rush, and Bloom. I just got Bamboo, which I’ve always been so curious about. It’s a really clean, soapy, musky scent. So in love! I can’t believe the negative reviews about longevity, as this has lasted on me. I definitely believe that scents like this have to work with your chemistry. This is beautiful. ❤️

I didn’t like it. It was too much for me, too strong too much of some overwhelming flowery smell. I expected something green and raw.

I can appreciate the idea but I expect Bamboo to smell more like bamboo. It could have been plantier and more green. The white florals are a weird choice to me. I don't like lily, so this was already doomed, but I decided to give it a spray. On my skin, the flowers are most prominent. The bergamot came and went, which is a shame. The vanilla is there but something about the way it combines with these other notes makes my stomach churn. Like someone stuffed a funeral lily in a vanilla cake. Not for me!

light and silly. smells super clean and the more it dries down it smells quite elegant. I like how you can wear it out at night kinda, but its also a very daytime scent. remains light for a surprisingly long time. definitely worth a shot if youre into bright and fresh scents!!
