Ambroxan leads this blend, paired with vanilla and orange blossom. It leans masculine to my nose. Performance is good, lasting around 8h on skin with 3h projection. Best suited night wear and semi-formal occasions. Regular scent overall, but many options share this DNA. Smells a bit too synthetic for my taste. In this price range, I would rather buy Myslf Le Parfum instead. 7/10.
Layer this with mefisto or SMW thank me later 😮💨
Reminds me of putty a bit but with a mix of fresh/floral/clean facets. Super nice and easy to wear. can be a bit thick in summer heat bit so applicable to anything else.
MASTERPEICE. That’s all you need to know. 10/10
This is like a one half feminine white chocolate dessert gourmand... and the other half is masculine ambroxan/ambrofix to make it wearable for men. Youthful, not dressed-up, mass appealing f*ckboi scent. Has nothing to with the classy Amouage Reflection Man.
I absolutely love this scent I've already gone through two bottles and am on my third. Aside from my wife, it's the fragrance I've gotten the most compliments on from the opposite sex. My wife loves the Absolu flanker, so I wear Absolu at home and Elixir at work =)
@scentofagremlin You ll still smell it dude😂😂
Smells like a dirtier version of Reflection Man. Super unique. Great performance. I am a big fan.
This is the first fragrance I've regretted purchasing. Either I smelled something different and bought the wrong fragrance or the sample was simply different but after buying the bottle and spraying it at home... It's like my whole house was invaded with miasma of Clubbing F*ck Boi. So strong, instant headache from 2 sprays. Harshly chemical, with eternal notes of obnoxious and invasive. I'm giving away the bottle to anyone who lives at least a mile distant
A very beautiful sweet frag thats starts off a little screeching in the opening but then settles into something smooth and highly addictive.
To me, this one smells bad on boy. But it smells fantastic on men. I don’t know what it is, the natural aroma of a man mixed with that gets compliments more than anything I’ve ever tried
i would say this isnt my cup of tea and rate it ,,ok", but this is one of the ones i trully dislike and it makes me nauseous asf first of all its hella strong and yeah say that you probably want a room filling fragrance, but genuinely nobody gives a damm about your fragrance and it just makes everybody nauseous second im not really a fan of the scent like i like the idea of the fragrance, but its really medicinal and smells really weird the smell is like an old library mixed in with wet cardboard and medicinal corn which i see the other reviews kinda agree with me and i think the weird smell is coming from the orris and the osmanthus and it makes the fragrance just overly weird and surprisingly even tho its masculine it makes the fragrance smell hella zesty like pride month zesty which now im saying makes sense because the perfumer is quentin bisch tho as im seeing the other reviews they are saying its only the opening so idk imo if the opening doesnt smell good then i dont even care about the dry down
What more do I need to say…..I just bought my third bottle. Obsessed!
I love this scent, however the opening is..... Different. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but it smells exactly like a just opened box of brand new sneakers.
This might be the most interesting scent Ive smelled in a while. If no one told you the notes, you'd swear it has like a vintage leather dna. Nope. Thats what the opening is. A classic refined leather with the ever so slightest hint of a rubber like hint. But as it dries down, the rubberish goes away and the vanilla and florals start to emerge to blend with the leather. DEEEP into the dry down, like 4-6 hours later, the vanilla becomes much more prominent, but doesn't hit you like a vanilla bomb. It’s smooth for sure. Overall it’s a fantastic dressed up scent that can sneakily be worn when its warm, just go real easy in the sprays. Id also caution using this of you are going to be in a small room with a lot of people… its pretty potent. Best used large rooms or outside, with some space!
I was one of the first to write a review of this and I still love it. I now own Guilty Absolu and wear that more often as it's more "me" and it's an easier semi-casual wear, whereas GGE demands you be sharply dressed and preferably an event of some importance. To offer a counter opinion to so many below, I own the OG Reflection Man (non magnetic cap) and it was once my favorite scent, but I can say I prefer Guilty Elixir in every regard. It is more upscale and rich with the semi-oldschool leather note and almost dry/bitter incense note that comes out on my skin. Reflection is more elegant clean laundry, while GGE is just "elegant man." I concur with the opinion that this is one of the greatest designer scents in decades, but I see no need to make the "designer" distinction, it stands toe to toe with the very best niche.
Whether you’re a fan of it or not, it is a commendable and impressive designer release. I have a hard time thinking of another recent designer release that smells so niche. This is quite close to Reflection man. Reflection man is sharper, more handsome, more mature. The vanilla is quite a bit here. It is nice, but you cannot overspray this. I really, really, like just 1 spray of this to the chest with a plain white old spice deodorant. It’s absolute cash money. Smell like vanilla clean laundry without overpowering. I think this is for a well dressed 30+ year old man. For the love of god dress kinda sharp when wearing this. I can’t imagine under dressing and wearing this. No shorts. I think this fragrance really plays to a man who’s relaxed, well spoken, and quiet. I think if you’re loud and overspray this you’re gonna put people off. Simply a fantastic designer release. I love the bottle, but just like everyone else I do wish for a larger size.
Smelled it at Saphora. Brought back memories, can't recall where. Love this. Not a good describer of colognes but I love it.
This genuinely might be the greatest designer fragrance of all time.....
Couldn't ever get past 15min wearing the stuff... headache inducing. Sold my bottle for a rain check of $40...
DO NOT SPRAY MORE THAN TWICE. If you want to rock it, thats the rule. Don't brake it.
Tested and retested, I can finally say what this fragrance evokes and, for me, it is a little bit of a naughty one. Not in a bad way, and not in a good way either. It smells like someone who is slightly mischievous, a playboy, someone smiling for reasons not fully disclosed. The opening suggests elegance and a kind of warmth, but as it develops, a seductive, calculating side comes to surface. It feels confident, perhaps a little too aware of their own charm. Could I wear it? Certainly. To a casino, a pharmaceutical conference, the world summit of notary lawyers, or the Venice Film Festival. For playing a role once in a while, absolutely. As an identity? No, no, no. 😂 Beware of anyone wearing this as signature scent, I suspect they’re someone whose intentions deserve a second look… 😇😏
In the opening I’m never a fan, then it dries down and is wonderful, a very unique scent compared to other designer scents and I’ve had multiple complements when wearing this. Go easy on the sprays, it’s a monster. 8.5/10
smells like medicinal cornbread to me
I don't like the distinctive sweet, spicy, oriental part, that stands out so much.
With all respect to Mr. Bisch (for whom I have TREMENDOUS respect), this seems to be an attempt to capture the DNA of the iconic and legendary Amouage Reflection Man in a Western/European-friendly version. I guess from that perspective it's "good". However, my tastes lean more Middle Eastern so this seems pale and uninspired (and a drop pathetic.) Don't get me wrong, it's "good". But again, it's targeted to Western and European tastes, and for the price, it's "good". To those that are somehow picking up on a PDM Pegasus vibe... HUH?? I guess... Maybe... But IMO that's just the accord used by Mr. Bisch to make the Reflection Man more European. The main focus here was clearly targeted at Reflection. I totally get that Amouage is often divisive, especially in the West and Europe. However, I'm a LOVER OF AMOUAGE and Reflection Man (and more so RM45) is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, this stuff can't swim in that fishbowl without getting devoured. Pity... Word to the wise; Unless you're going to invest a ton of time and money, don't ever bother to imitate an Amouage fragrance... Ever. Ratings: For what it is: 8.5 / 10.00 For what it's trying to imitate: 6.0 / 10.0 (and that's only because I'm in a good mood.)
An overpriced but overwhelming perfume in my collection. Above my league I guess. Please do not spray more than 2 to 3 spritz on your skin, do not spray on clothing or walk in. Your mouth will feel bitter with chemical vibes of coughing syrup. Your olfactory system will be overloaded whole day long. This is fragrance for a sophisticated gentleman, wearing itself requires measured sophistication. The perfume is extraordinary, lovely notes of citrusy vanilla, very unique. But not for everybody. BTW, for such an expensive the cap is not magnetic and bottle design is pathetic.
Yea, the comparison that immediately came to my mind is Amouage Reflection Man. This is a very sweet, concentrated, powdery vanilla and white floral melange. I would emphasize the following "cons" listed above: - Can be overpowering in small rooms - Potential for headaches if oversprayed - Too cloying for high summer heat - Noticeably synthetic to some noses While I can see this being very popular and conducive to compliments, I don't think it generates associations with sophistication nor "gentlemanliness". It smells good, but its a unisex blast furnace of sweet floral vanilla. Maybe leans feminine. More youth oriented. So I do NOT agree with this listed "pro" on this page: - Mature, sophisticated masculine profile I'm an older ScentSnob, so I'm not the target market for this designer scent profile. I would wear this occasionally at a party or similar, but I own Amouage Reflection Man, so I'm good.
My brain is so cornfuzzled by this smell. I hate it and I love it. I couldn't have wanted it less but I bought a back-up bottle. It smells horrible and wonderful. I hate myself for spraying it, but then hork the arm I sprayed it on like my nostrils are death stars greedily nose-boning the universe. It's pure chintz and remarkably elegant. I didn't know pimento had a smell, and still don't know what pimento smells like. And when all that is said, it turns out that the disconcerting gap between what is real and what is fake is quite compelling. For me, it's an enduring question mark out of 10.
