Drakkar Intense

This one is a total nostalgia hit. Even though the original Drakkar Noir belongs to the 80s, Drakkar Intense instantly takes me right back to my 90s - it’s got that sharp, aromatic vibe that defined the era for me. As it dries down, though, it shifts into a much warmer, heavier "old man" territory. That deep, classic base kicks in with warm leather and amber, giving it a real old-school backbone. It’s basically a piece of my own 90s memories mixed with a heavier drydown that is both modern and vintage-style.

after using it in an impromptu chemical warfare against a house centipede surprise attack, i have a newfound respect for drakkar intense, even if my bathroom smells like cheap man-whore now. surprisingly affective by the way! less than ten seconds of straight spray to the dome and that motherfucker was down for the count. nearly felt bad

No! This is a very contempory "thick" and cloying fragrance. It has the "play-doh" and vanillic thing going on and it is damn tenacious. It does NOT remind me of Drakkar Noir at all. I have the current Drakkar Noir on one arm and the Drakkar Intense on the other. They are not similar (from the opening to the dry down). Drakkar Noir was the fragrance that I wore at university in the 80's and 90's. I got the reformulated current version recently just for fun. It smells VERY similar to the vintage but it doesn't have the longevity and it's perhaps a bit "thinner" than in the 80's but there's no doubt they are the same fragrance. Also, I have created perfumes myself and have taken quite a few perfumery accord courses (and the hundreds of raw materials that go along with them). My nose may not be the absolute best but it's not bad either. If you crave Drakkar Noir look elsewhere.

instant headache

smells like a rich old gentleman. fresh and clean. even though it’s called „intense“ to me it’s not too overpowering. i find it soft and gentle. it’s also different enough from other colognes that it makes people ask you what you’re wearing. this is what tony soprano would wear, do with that info what you want haha

I love this stuff. Reminds me of my dad and to be fair I let him wear it to my sisters wedding because he liked it. 10/10 dadmaxxing smell. If you don't want to get your girl pregnant, dont get this.

Definitely what I would call a Neo-Retro fragrance. The idea, the theme, the vision, is not new at all. It's aiming for the classic "men's cologne" scent of 1983-2003. It immediately evokes the thought of Calvin Klein Obsession as well as the ubiquitous Drakkar Noir in the background. But the execution of this is very modern. The way this fragrance is constructed plays nicely with modern tastes. Sometimes "real" classic fragrances just don't work anymore. They don't always come across the same way they did in past decades. Drakkar Intense is constructed in such a way that it evokes the same feeling for those born too late to remember 9/11 that CK Obsession must have evoked the day it came out

As many others have noted, the longevity of this is abysmal. I sprayed 8 good sprays on myself and in a little more than an hour I could not smell it. I asked my colleague and she could not smell it either. This is a pity as it has the making of greatness. As one reviewer mentioned there is a similarity with Giorgio Red. I also see similarities with CK Obsession for men and also to some degree Witness by Jacques Bogart.

First impressions. In a nutshell, it's Drakkar Noir layered with Obsession (for men). It has its charms, but somehow still smells like a generic 90s fragrance that tries too much to be something more sophisticated. Denim Black layered with Old Spice. To my nose, the barbershop ambitions and the oriental flirtations don't mix well here, it gives an air of indecisiveness. Like someone has spilled Drakkar Noir over suede shoes and tried to get it out with oriental cinnamon soap.

The lavender is the star of the show in this perfume. It is exquisite. I have a 100+ collection but somehow 90% of the time I keep reaching for this perfume, because it puts me in a calm, relaxed, confident but in the same time sophisticated state of mind. Solid, solid release

This is really nice if you appreciate things like Spicebomb and Burberry London like I do. The drydown reminds me of London quite a bit. It's very nice for what you pay ($15 for a 50 Ml at Ross) if you have the right expectations. Likely not for the younger dudes or those that need sweetness or vanilla. It's like a slightly modernized take on Drakkar Noir. It steps into the early-mid 2000's which I love, but not all the way back to the late 80's with in-your-face "This smells like nut-stank and you're gonna like it" vibes. I can't claim that it's not a barbershop/fougere, but it's richer than most in my opinion, as I think Rive Gauche, Beau De Jour, Moustache EDT., etc, when I think of barbershop or fougere scents. This is less citrus and more spice. Decidedly masculine, though when ladies have the right attitude, they can wear anything and pull it off. But most are not likely to be drawn to this, nor is the 30 and under male crowd. Good to very good performance, especially when considering the price range. As a mid-40's dude that loves spice and wood and hates the sweet stuff they mass produce now, I give this a solid 8, and bump it to a 9 given the price at discounters. Not doing anything that hasn't been done before, but what it does, it does exceptionally well.

I really like it now that I have worn it several times. I admit I went into this thinking it would be cheap and uninteresting smelling but it is a well put together fragrance. I have smelled fragrances 10 or 15 times more expensive I liked least but I am big old school. I was around when original Kouros was released and got CK Obsession the day of its release. I loved all the classics they were so gorgeous and natural and guess what this one is so different than what is being released now. A smooth pleasant smell for 15 dollars is unheard of today.

I am suprised nobody compared this to LNDLH Le Parfum. They share the bubble bath lavender and dry clean patchouli. Drakkar Intense reduces the sweetness to minimum and replaces cardamom with coriander. Overall it is a great fragrance. A darker barbershop. Besides a hot weather you can use it anytime. And as any other Guy Laroche, it won't break the bank.

Guys, intense means intense. You gotta be very gentle on the trigger because if your not(which has happened to me multiple times) you find yourself enshrouded in a spicy, cinnamon-y musk which is incredibly headache inducing. The longevity and and silliage are insane on me. Again, it's very spicy and intense but after it cools down after a few hours I can handle it, for the price point I'm not mad at my purchase

The beauty of this lies in it's affordable price. It's a polished and modernized take on 80s azzaro / ck obsession genre. In comparison to mentioned scents, this one is really wearable in my opinion. It's a fun and cheap way to get that vibe without notes rated as outdated by today's standard. It has less cinnamon and focuses more on the kinda sweet and boozy accord. This would be a nice gift for someone to let them try vintage vibe perfume or a nice dumb reach cheapie. Happily the "cheap" bottle format encourages taking it with you and respraying - though performance is not terrible in any means. Handle with care - possible milf magnet.

Drakkar Intense, much like its predecessor Drakkar Noir, is an aromatic fougere. Intense focuses more on a spicy shaving foam character than Noir, with Noir having a much more bergamot/citrus opening. Drakkar Intense leans more toward Azzaro pour Homme rather than the OG Drakkar Noir. Smells fantastic. Unfortunately for both versions of Drakkar, these fragrances suffer from serious longevity issues. Only a couple hours tops with the fragrance trailing off to a skin scent rather quickly. Drakkar Intense/Drakkar Noir are dirt cheap on discounters so you can feel free to reapply, but when the problem is this bad you may as well reach for a different fragrance. TLDR; Drakkar Intense is a fantastic smelling aromatic fougere that suffers from serious longevity problems. Buy it on discounters for super low prices.

It's the generation-defining freshness of Drakkar Noir but smoothed out with warm, ambery undertones. MILFs love it. Get this and gatekeep it.

I wanted to like this. I wanted to love this. I am disappointed in this fragrance, likely due mostly to my own expectations. Drakkar Noir was the first fragrance I purchased with my own money when I was in high school in the mid to late 80s. It is still one of my favorite scents. I was hoping it is was going to be similar to Drakkar Noir, with more warmth. I’m not getting that at all. I am not getting anything similar to that. It just smells like make up, with a bit of warmth. I realize this is not a flanker of Drakkar Noir, but of the original Drakkar. Not many people have ever smelled that fragrance. I think Guy Laroche missed an opportunity here. They should have released something like Drakkar Noir Intense in a higher concentration like an EDP. If they were to do this successfully, a lot of the fans of Drakkar Noir would buy it. I go nose blind to this extremely quickly, within one of two sniffs. It’s difficult for me to report on the longevity or sillage, as I don’t smell much of anything. Also, I oversprayed this before going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. My dental hygienist always asks me about my fragrance. She said that she didn’t even notice that I was wearing one. Disappointing, as she is right up in my face during a teeth cleaning. I think this is a missed opportunity. We need a Drakkar Noir Intense!

I haven't smelled it in forever but I remember Red for Men Giorgio Beverly Hills smelling just like this.

Very nice "night" fougere. The same idea as Azzaro Pour Homme the regular version then the Intense "night" version, which is darker and sweeter. However, you can tell the notes here are not as high quality or very watered down. If there is a niche version of this or made by a house like Guerlain with higher quality ingredients, this would be legendary.

Drakkar Intense — The "Dad Legend" Remastered Look, I know what you’re thinking. "Drakkar? Really? Is it 1989?" We’ve all heard the jokes about Drakkar Noir being the official scent of high school locker rooms and 80s power ballads. But here is the thing: There is a reason it’s a legend. It smells clean, masculine, and unapologetic. However, I didn't want to smell exactly like my uncle in 1992. That’s why I grabbed Drakkar Intense. 1. The Smell Think of this as "Drakkar Noir 2.0." The Opening: It still has that classic, sharp, "barbershop" blast of rosemary, lavender, and lemon. It hits that nostalgic "shaving foam" button in your brain immediately. The Twist: The original dries down very soapy and mossy. This Intense version dries down warm. They added Amber, Suede, and Vanilla notes. It takes that sharp edge off and makes it smell smoother, boozier, and more modern. 2. The Vibe This is the "Dad Boss" scent. It doesn't smell like bubblegum or flowers (like most modern colognes). It smells like a guy who pays his mortgage on time and knows how to change his own oil. It’s rugged. It’s my "dumb reach"—when I don't want to think about what to wear, I grab this. It just works. 3. Performance For a cheapie, it hangs in there. I get a solid work day out of it (6+ hours). It projects well (it is Drakkar, after all), but the warmer notes keep it from being screechy. 4. The Nostalgia Factor There is something comforting about this DNA. It feels familiar. Putting this on in the morning just puts me in the right headspace to tackle the day. It’s a classic for a reason, and this update gives it enough of a modern tweak to keep it relevant in 2025. Verdict If you miss the days when men’s cologne smelled like men’s cologne, but you don't want to smell outdated, get this. It’s the perfect update to a legend. Rating: 8.5/10 (The ultimate Daily Driver).

I always keep coming back to this scent. Big fan of Drakkar Noir and this one solves the main problem: the loudness. OG Drakkar Noir is a beautiful well thought out scent. But its really loud in a good way. This one in the other hand is smoother and more boozy. Also lets don't forget that this is a flanker to OG Drakkar, Ultimate beater fragrance for me 10/10

IMO not as good as the og, hand sanitizer-esque, ambery opening. not my thing personally, but it improves in the drydown.

I frickin love this stuff. There is a lot more going on here than is listed in the notes. I think Sebastian ThePerfumeGuy's review and description on YouTube is probably the most descriptive and accurate. I love the original too but happily they are completely different yet both very classy - Intense absolutely smells much more expensive and high level designer Tom Ford/Spicebomb territory though. There's some of the patchouli citrus juiciness of Tuxedo and its clones. People say that they catch the original Noir in it but I just don't believe that without already knowing they were both Drakkar anyone really would. But it is definitely a fancy expensive smelling barbershop fragrance. I guess you would still say fougere but like so many others pushed into that scent type just because they have the classic old school gentleman aura there is almost no fern or green notes involved. Noir has much more of that going on as does the original first Azzaro Pour Homme. As seen in the reminds me of section it is more like the recent APH flankers. To me this has pretty much zero similarity to Bentley Intense thankfully. This is a lot classier and doesn't have the Bentley Intense date rape rohypnol spiked beer nauseous scent/vibe. I only hate on Bentley For Men Intense because it is SO over hyped and so undeserving. Like if Jimmy Fallon was a cologne... It is an adequate fragrance that some people would like but under the radar is where it has always belonged and should have stayed. But for the money (and for seeming much more expensive) Drakkar Intense is about as good as it gets in the mr smelly / scents of south Jersey / chaps guide demographic. Obviously if you wish to spend $50 - $250 more on something from the same realm (Floris, Naughton and Wilson, Rogue Perfumery, etc.) your pick up will probably be a bit more interesting and exciting with a longer list of notes but this juice is no slouch and stands among those other more expensive characters with fine posture and great hair.

This stuff is intense. A light hand on the sprays gets the best results. It's very masculine and reminiscent of the OG Drakkar Noir, while being its own thing. A spicy, fresh clean scent that smells far more expensive than it is. You also won't smell like everyone else. I do not go looking for compliments, I'm over 50, married, and I'm not in particularly good shape (my helicopter rescue swimmer days were long ago) and yet I had two different people say I smelled really good, within the first week of wearing this. It's only 20 bucks but I will probably get it again if I run out of it.

I work in direct patient care at a large hospital. This is one of the very few non "shower gel freshie" fragrances that I can wear to work. Patients and staff both give this one all KINDS of love, and on the drydown it's a very warm, masculine and spicy scent that isn't overpowering or nausea - inducing. Love it, and it's cheap! Edit-I'm in my 40's and this one gets me more compliments than anything in my collection besides CDNIM, could be because it's age appropriate, my teenage son's won't wear it, but they love it on me.
