Christine Nagel has certainly captured the earthy essence of rhubarb in this fragrance. Supported by red berry notes it has a distinctly juicy opening which is both refreshing and curiously astringent. Sadly, at least on my skin, it has woefully poor longevity which, given its price point, is a recipe for disappointment. Such a shame. For as long as it lasts, however I like it very much indeed.

I am so happy to own this fragrance. On my skin, I have never liked anything with a fruity/floral soul, but this is something different! After hours and hours of wearing this perfume, it is just as there as it was when I first applied it. It smells like rhubarb and champagne after seven hours. I have enjoyed it all day. It is not loud. It is more of an intimate fragrance, but it is definitely still there and she is not whispering. She's just talking softly.

Have been wearing this for a week straight and I can say it's my new favourite! It smells so clean, juicy and always lifts up my mood. So beautiful for summer ☀️ the longevity is not as bad as I expected. On my clothes I could still smell it the next day, but I should say I oversprayed a lot.

To me, drydown smells very similar to a harsh hairspray. The opening is not bad, but the drydown is so nauseating to me

The scent is beautiful, but gone by the time I walked downstairs. The Prada Infusion 'D Rhubarbe is similar and lasts all day. L'Occitane Cassis Rhubarb is a better buy and lasts.

Sour gummies, I can’t detect any rhubarb. I was hoping for a way more tart scent, but the sweetness in this throws it off.

this is a pleasant and bright, somewhat soapy rhubarb scent with some rosy-but-not-quite-rose florals. that must be the lantana. it's a great scent, but it's not my favourite rhubarb scent - the title of absolute favourite rhubarb still goes to lazulio by dyptique. this hermès one is for the days where i prefer a shampoo clean fragrance over a smokier rhubarb. it's also rather short-lived, but that's to be expected of a fragrance in an edc concentration. i'n not sure yet if i would rebuy this, but i'm still glad i bought one 100ml bottle to last me a few years.

@munaloth smelling this and listening to that and well yes

Intoxicating. Smells like the song Death & Romance by Magdalena Bay. Makes me smile.

Funny but the older I am, the more I appreciate it. I used to think I would mature into someone who would find this too 'young' and fresh to be serious, and instead it's become my signature cologne. When I want to make it a bit sharper I combine it with Eau de Néroli Doré, and when I want the sweetness to come out, I layer it with Eau de Mandarine Ambrée. It's just perfection, this one makes everyone around you smile, it makes people happy. Wish they made an Eau de toilette or even Eau de Parfum of this one for a longer lasting experience, but regardless it is fantastic and both women and men love it on me.

I had a tiny sample of this floating around for a few months that I'd randomly have in my pocket on a night out. When it finally ran dry I ordered a bottle straight away, It's a Really delicious rhubarby sweetness. I usually wear it just before jumping into bed, or to add a twist to another perfume im wearing. Smells like it should be a syrupy elixir from a fantasy world. Despite the fact this is a cologne and I prefer my scents to last a long time, I'll never be without a bottle of this. Please Hermès bring this out as a eau de parfum or even EDT, I don't carry a bag so I cant really take the bottle out with me!

I absolutely adore this utterly unique fragrance. It smells like my childhood home in the summer. Never before have I smelled lantana in a fragrance, and the rhubarb mixes well into such a mysterious, summertime fragrance. It is so real and descriptive of a real place, rather than aspirational. It’s not refined, it’s earthy, but assured and confident in itself. In this authenticity is its elegance. This lifts my mood and takes me back to happy, hot, lazy summer days in coastal San Diego. You can almost hear the cicadas singing. My only complaint is that the longevity is terrible. You’d have to reapply it all day long. But what a pleasant experience!

Анонім★★★★★

Complaints about longevity are missing the point of this perfume. Historically, eau de colognes are designed to fade quickly, allowing the wearer to reapply and ‘refresh’ themselves. So yes, Rhubarbe Ecarlate fades quickly; the almost electric sharpness that you get immediately after applying rapidly softens into a sweet and sour berry musk that barely lingers on clothes after 90 minutes. But that means I get the pleasure of reapplying and experiencing the slap and tickle of the rhubarb all over again - it’s the joy of baking yourself on sun bed then jumping in a fresh, cold pool, only to get out and repeat the process.

I was given a compliment wearing it. But there was curiosity in her voice like “I can’t place the smell.” I also have the body wash and so now it only smells like soap to me. Kind of puts me off that it short lived. No lasting power. Doesn’t remain on my clothes. So I hardly put this on. This is a perfect rhubarb smell though. The photogenic memory is there.

Very pleasant and bright in a mellow way, I could see myself owning this and wearing it often. I ordered a sample because of the body shop's "chyamara" which I loved was compared to this, however I don't agree that they smell similar. It didn't last very long, unfortunately.

A very sour, fruity floral. This scent has a green aspect to it, like an unlisted basil or tomato leaf note. Mature, not sweet at all. Rhubarb soaked in vodka. Borders on acetone. A very unique scent.

could it be possible that every perfume is someone's favorite? perfumes like this make me think it could be true. while it's not mine, I absolutely had to own a full bottle of it. it takes a rather uncommon note and makes it absolutely wearable-- politely sweet and elegant, friendly, airy, and a little tart and juicy. it's interesting but not taxing, and a curious little scent that doesn't fatigue you with its presence. if I smelled this in a crowded place before knowing of it, I would be dejected with the loss of it when the stranger wearing it passes me by. I believe that to someone who perhaps has fond memories of growing rhubarb, or of passing tables full at the summer market, or eating grandmother's strawberry rhubarb pies, it would be their favorite perfume in the world.

Love how acidic and fresh it feels, in a very unique way. Slightly sweet, in a very pleasant way that doesn't feel intrusive. The tartness disappears after a while, and is quite intimate. Highly enjoyed it.

Tart and tangy summer rhubarb scent. This is playful without being juvenile! A high quality fruity offering from Hermes.

Анонім★★★★★

I hated this. It was like nail-polish remover or something.

Анонім★★★★★

Sour ruhbarb and greens ,light summer scent.

Анонім★★★★★

I just love this. It's so intriguing, fresh, and unique. It's bitter in the best way. It's crisp and clean without the all-purpose cleaner vibe that so many fresh fruity scents have. Elegant and intoxicating. I don't think I could ever get tired of it. The only downside is poor longevity, but I can't even get myself to care.

Most fruity perfumes have a reputation for being childish, artificial, screechy...This is elegant. Something I’d expect to smell in heaven, honestly.

Анонім★★★★★

I’m not a fruity-fragrance person, especially not fruit-first compositions, but this one is lovely. I wouldn’t wear it as a full bottle, but I would happily own a small travel size just to use up in the Spanish sun. It fits the atmosphere perfectly. The balance between the rhubarb and the musk is really well done. It doesn’t smell cheap, it’s not loud or obnoxious, and it’s not sugary. Fresh, bright, elegant and very Hermès. Very pretty, even for someone who usually runs in the opposite direction of scents.

Rhubarb goes to the laundry shop in a foggy London morning.

Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate by Hermès has a bright, crisp, berry-like scent that feels very Hermès elegant and understated. Its slight tartness keeps it from being sweet, giving it a cool, refreshing edge instead. Light yet distinctive, it’s a versatile fragrance that works beautifully not only in summer but all year round.

Анонім★★★★★

Really nice fruity scent with a sort of punch. I wouldn't consider it tart, maybe tangy. The rhubarb is why Ecarlate is pretty much why it's a fragrance and not an air freshener. Really nice, gone in a short time. Kind of a pick me up scent. White musk sticks around to make it a bit sexy smelling.

Анонім★★★★★

This is a nice, tart, sour, and green fragrance. I like it, I just dont know if I like it enough to finish a 100ml bottle. As I suspected, the performance on this is really bad. It's virtually gone after 2 hours

Анонім★★★★★

Fresh and tart rhubarb that I like to layer with some of the saffron/cloud type scents to round it off a bit. Alone, it's giving sociopathic girlboss or mob wife. I would not trust someone that wears this by itself.

Анонім★★★★★

Gourmand rhubarb. Green and very much alive, ozonic, nose-piercingly sharp at times. Opens like a bottle of slightly sour, very dry white wine poured into a metal cup, with a hint of a floral note drifting into your nose holes. Not astringent (like witch hazel) but an acquired 'taste' none the less. 6.5/10 Quality formulation but not my thang.
