Declutter/Shop My Shelf #2: Glow After Dark Passionfruit fruitchouli. Goes on strongly sweet with a nice natural passionfruit and some earthy patch. The patch is strong enough to give it less of the shower gel Glow DNA. It's a fleeting pleasure, though. My skin drank it. Shame, because its lack of staying power is my only real criticism. I enjoyed it a lot while it lasted. Verdict: On the 'maybe' shelf. I'll see if my kid wants it.
Great Glow flanker! I get a tropical floral with a spicy background. This is so good. Sexy, day time and nighttime approved.
This was very jasmine-forward, and it was okay and wearable. It was pretty average overall.
This fragrance is so dear to my heart. It was my signature scent from the very moment I started wearing perfume. I was 17, just about to move out to study law, and I still vividly remember how confident I felt every time I put it on. I’ve bought three back-ups, just to make sure I can keep cherishing those memories. To my nose, it smells very clean. Shampoo-like. Bubble bath with a sweet twist. It lasts forever.
okay nice fragrance but strange. at first it smells fresh, sweet, floral then when it settles it becomes heavy, mature strong patchouli. it's definitely not for everyone, I would describe it: sexy mature playful fragrance for the evening. 7/10 unisex rather feminine.
I own and love the OG Glow, so this one was a slight disappointment to me. I got the travel size roll-on off of eBay, so fortunately I didn't spend that much. It's not bad, but despite being a female-marketed scent, it smells way too masculine on me. I ended up giving it away to my boyfriend and it smells great on him.
I had this in middle school and I just bought another bottle. Brings me back to 2006 in the same way Midnight Fantasy does. It's fruity and sweet but in a unique way. Edit: I found my bottle from middle school when I was cleaning. It smells exactly the same as the new bottle. Impressive longevity
Does give me a fruitchouli vibe, but more sweet than anything. I wish it was a little “darker” of a scent.
Similar to kim kardashian gold. Gold is nicer but this is longer lasting. I might try layering them.
One of the best celebrity fragrances in my opinion, so long lasting and beautiful!! If you love a fresh, fruity patchouli 💣 bomb you will really enjoy this. The scent and bottle remind me of a he new Kylie 2.0
Skin test. This kne was a sort of nothing when first sprayed, a touch fruity perhaps at a stretch, that sort of vacant smell you sometimes get when the top notes just don't do much on your skin. Then after half an hiur this one really opens up, I don't think this one smells like the early 2000s, this scent is powdery and warm. My opinion is this scent and Miami which I I also testing, both retain the dryish floral feel, and have different notes added in. The patch here leans clean and hides a bit with fruit notes that also lean dry, not screech like the OG Glow, I get more of the fruity notes the more I wear it, but driving home she was all powdery producty, and got a good sillage. I will keep it on and see what happens. Oh, this IS NOT like the Kim k fragrance listed under similar scents, it could have similar fruit notes in common but I don't think the overall smell is the same - I don't even relate the two. The patchouli here gives some depth without being dirty. It's soft rounded powdery and a little fruit and patch in the back
A 2000’s in the bottle. If you went clubbing in 2006, then that's what all the clubs smelled like
Cool for the summer.
Vile. I blind bought as it was showing above as reminding others of Midnight Rain, but it is nothing like it. It has a strong, chemically, musky smell which is quite nauseating. I’m really disappointed.
Update: Ok, on my skin it does not last more than 2 hours. But on clothing, it lasts forever. I sprayed it on my shirt last night and I can still smell it even though it's nearly evening the next day. And on clothing you can smell the berry sweetness deepened by the patchouli. The patchouli is very prominent so if you do not like it then this is not for you.
If you want a fruity scent that lasts then its best to look elsewhere. The fruity sweetness of the top notes is gone withing minutes. (I find that Sofia by Sofia Vergara and DKNY My NY by Donna Karan have very similar sweet openings to GAD, but they last much longer) This opens up with a blast of sweetness that quickly dissipates into a light floral with a bit of a leftover sweetness. I'll update later withe the longevity as well as how the patchouli mixes with my skin.
This seems to be a pretty polarizing fragrance based on the reviews. I have mixed feelings about it. I bought my bottle probably like 5 years ago, and liked it ok but never really used it. About a year ago I was like “hm, let me try this again.” And literally DUSTED OFF the bottle cause it had gone untouched for so long. This time, I loved it. I don’t know if it’s because my preferences have changed and evolved, or if the scent itself changed after sitting untouched for so long. I have the full size 3.4 oz bottle and it’s down to its last few mLs. I liked spraying it in my wet hair after a shower cause my hair would smell incredible for days and I could still smell it faintly on wash day (I wash my hair every 7-9 days)! It didn’t become my favorite fragrance but I found myself using it several times a week. That weird bug spray smell that some people talk about was gone. It was sparkling, dark and sensual fruitiness now. If I had to guess, I’d say the jasmine definitely takes center stage now. The white cherry and passion fruit is quieter now but I do smell cherry. It’s musky with a hint of woodiness and patchouli. The word “sparkling” is what comes to mind when I think of this scent and anytime I use it. I think I will buy another smaller bottle to use as hair perfume cause it works so well for me and smells almost.. better?! in my hair. This is not a safe blind buy though. Try some decants or see if they have a bottle to sample spray at your local drugstore or Walmart. I’ve seen this fragrance there in recent months. Definitely not blind buy safe though!
GAD starts with a tangy fruity accord then moves to an abstract floral heart, ending with a boozy and mildly modern chypre base. Apart from the mild booziness in the base, I don’t find GAD particularly a nighttime fragrance. While original Glow is definitely an early morning, clean, soapy, after the shower fragrance, this one works best for an afternoon in autumn IMO, (as a side note I don’t know why GAD is a flanker as it has no resemblance to the pillar). It is an “ok” scent in my large arsenal but it doesn’t wow me in any way.
For me this fragrance was pure bug spray which is a shame as judging by the comments some people seem to love it! I would definitely recommend trying this before buying as it seems to be a love it or hate it type of fragrance.
Horrible blind buy. Do not recommend. Smells like a sub-par men's cologne to me. Message me if you want my bottle.
This is a sexy summer night time fragrance. I love this one. It's a musky summer smell, leaning a sexy musky smell and definitely feminine leaning. It lasts awhile and projects far which is really decent considering the price.
I thought it would be like an upgraded version of Glow, which I adore, but Glow after dark is a completely different fragrance. It opens with a fresh passion fruit note which only lasts for one minute. Then it develops into a fruity/spicy cherry fragrance which is so very similar to a lot of other much more expensive fragrances out there, just like La petite robe noire, Flowerbomb, La vie est belle or Jimmy Choo. The drydown is just the same in all of them. A good fragrance, but I am never going to use it.
A fruitchouli that isn't overly sweet, but rather sharp and chypre-ish. Glow After Dark shares this characteristics with Chloé Nomade, but they don't really smell the same. I'm not sure about the difference between white and red cherries, but the cherry note is definitely there. Mixed with the passion fruit it's fresh and tart, it also reminds me of underripe plums somehow. It's not like cherry flavored candy, more of a naturalistic cherry note. The oakmoss is noticeable, but only as a supporting note to the patchouli. This does not have a vintage vibe. Like many J.Lo fragrances this contains lots of white musk. The combination of tart fruit, patch, oakmoss and this really clean musk can be a bit scratchy at times, especially in the opening. I also find the scent a little too shampoo-ish for my liking. But on the other hand there is a nice warmth in the base that balances the scent, and the slight sweetness of the cherry works well with the sharper notes. The drydown is more powdery and warmer on me, which I enjoy. All in all a good fragrance, especially for the price. Not what I would buy, but if you like clean fragrances and have no problem with a little more sharpness, it's worth a try. I don't really see this as a nighttime fragrantice, it could easily be worn anytime.
I don't get any really distinct notes, unlike others do. Clearly there's some patchouli, something that makes it a bit sweet, and powdery florals that are "propped up" by the wood notes. I can understand the idea that it smells like orange-flavored "baby aspirin" (mostly in terms of texture), but I don't get the distinct orange, just perhaps the slightest hint. Perhaps a second wearing will bring out some of the other notes, but as things stand, I do like this, but I think I'd try using it more for layering than by itself. And if you like Dior Homme (vintage), then I don't see why this shouldn't be considered unisex.
It's an interesting and unusual scent. A sexy, yet elegant night scent. Perhaps with a bit of a vintage hint, like a young lady at her 30s back in the early 90s wearing a black coat visiting a good friend who has invited her. She gifts her a bottle of brandy and some sweets. You will be remembered.
I can really smell the white cherry and passion fruit in this and I quite enjoy it! It's different and unique. I don't have any other fragrances that smell like this one. It stands out. It almost has a masculine vibe to it. I find it deep and dark but not suffocating or too heavy. The fruity tone keeps it alive and from becoming too serious. Interesting and not boring in the least bit. A fun scent that will keep people sniffing you and guessing what you are wearing all night long!
This was a recent blindbuy off of eBay, and I'm pleased with it. I've not smelled any of the other J. Lo fragrances, so I can't compare it. This is a fruity, musky, patchouli scent that would be perfect for Spring and Summer nights. It's not a heavy/warm scent, and the fruit keeps it rather "tropical". On me this doesn't have great sillage and wears more like a skin scent. I also find that this is rather unisex.
Disgusting. Smells like cheap fake tan. I was out one day years ago and asked a woman what perfume she was wearing and she said it was a J Lo one. After reading about all the ones listed on here, I bought this one based on the notes. Thankfully it was only a tenner. Free to a good home if anything wants it.
sangat cocok dipakai buat malam hari, patcoulinya dominan membuat wanginya mewah dengan harga murah. unik dan punya karakter sendiri
This smells like a bathroom air freshener mixed with baby powder, crisp and fresh but not very classy, strong at 5 hrs, by 8 hours just a light powdery skin scent that lasts another few hours. I really love the original Glow and Miami Glow, and was hoping this would be a warmer/darker version, but I'm a bit disappointed.
