Kenzo Amour

I blind bought this since my beloved Indian Holi is long gone from production and wanted to see how the OG compared. Amour has a hefty dose of heliotrope akin to baby powder but in a good way. No fruity notes, whereas Indian Holi had the red berry throughout. This is a floral vanilla, not bakery vanilla. Slightly woody in the base. Soft, feminine, powdery, warm, cozy. It's not a replacement for my favorite but the DNA is still there. (Upvoted What We Do In Paris Is Secret, very similar)

There was a time when this really shone on the Fragrance Shop shelves among other designer fragrances that smelled "meh" compared to it. I didn't repurchase it after years just because someone mentioned it was reformulated and doesn't smell as it used to. But now I read raving reviews and am thinking about buying it again for fall/spring.

This is such a beautiful scent, and one I’ve come back to repeatedly over the years. I usually avoid anything with a floral note, but this is such a wonderfully balanced creation. Many of the perfumes I have loved and worn over the years are Olivier Cresp creations, and this is one of the best. The floral notes are beautifully blended with the musk and rice, and it really does have an incense vibe to it. I recently purchased a 100 ml bottle, a bit worried that it might have changed due to reformulations, but compared to a fairly old 50 ml bottle, it was identical. It’s a glorious vanillary, powdery, lactonic, incense experience. For me, silage and longevity are moderate to long. It’s also a real bargain these days. My only gripe is that I miss the orange bottle!

This is such a perfect scent, not too sweet and not too intense, exactly how it should be. A bit gourmand, a bit sexy, and a bit wild, all in one. Just in one word, amazing!

I love rice scents, so when I found out how highly spoken of this fragrance was, I blind bought a full bottle…and was disappointed. Coming from fragrances like One Day’s Taipei, Nearly Noon and White Rice, this couldn’t hold a candle to those. Kenzo Amour comes off very powdery, and reminds me of my mom’s expensive department store facial creams. Definitely a clean scent, but the rice is overpowered by the cherry blossom and (bitter) tea. The powderyness does fade to a more mild powder, but since I was expecting rice, my dreams were shattered. I want to love this so bad, the bottle is a work of art. I’ll keep playing with it and try layering it, but right now I feel like this is something I’ll eventually destash. It does have decent longevity but poor sillage, very much a scent that’s close to the skin.

wanted to like this more but im starting to think everything with rice notes smells like feet to me. hypnotic poison comparison is apt but this also calls to mind l'eau papier, or something like this is her, or its woodsy zara knockoff. very sweet. straight toes though

This has been my signature scent for years. No matter how many new lovely fragrances I encounter, this will be my eternal love. It's a gentle gourmand powdery vanilla. Absolutely perfect.

This was love at first sniff. I smelled this on the duty free, but couldn't take it at that moment. To me it feels like one of the most stable vanilla powdery scents I've ever felt in my life. I still can't say much else other than I can't wait to get my hands on this one. It's so romantic, well done.

Imagine a sunny spring day. You're slowly falling through the sky. You land on a soft, fluffy cloud and it embraces you ever so slightly. Just so you know you're safe. You lay there, arms stretched and close your eyes as the wind carries up the scent from flowers down below. That's what this smells like to me. A very comforting, and kind scent.

I don't ever agree with reviews, because what I get from this is a musky vanilla and baby powder and that's it. And I love it!! It's a beautiful bed time scent. I bought it for the bottle though because I find it very romantic and artistic.

I’ve come to really love this, and thankfully I love it enough to forgive that the bottle looks like a dark magenta brontosaurus

I am currently addicted to the soft sensuality of this scent. It has awful projection and sillage— but I don’t care! I wear this for me: when I’m reading, thinking deeply, heading to bed. It smells gorgeous on the skin and when I catch a whiff of it I wonder…what IS that!? Its’s Kenzo Amour. It’s the blankie I had as a child with the satin trim that I used to run gently along my face to comfort myself; it’s the soft breeze on a warm spring day spent under the cherry blossoms; it’s climbing into a freshly made bed and feeling the cool comfort of luxurious sheets that warm against your skin. This is a deep love for me.

To me a very good date scent. Always had success with it. Initially blind bought it because I was looking for a rice gourmand, but this isn't that. Still smells good though. Vanilla, creamy, floral.

JUST WOW! Clean, lactonic-leaning scents are everywhere right now, and I always feel like they're too much in some way or another, i.e. too floral and giving detergent, too lactonic and giving spoiled milk, too sweet and giving baby powder, etc. Amour isn't soapy, sour or overly powdery. The notes are harmonious rather than trying to stomp each other out. The composition is absolutely beautiful! I purchased a decant and was apprehensive about the Play-Doh comparisons since that's something I also experience with my nose, but I don't get that at all with Amour. It's one you need to try for yourself, and I'm going to order a FB shortly. :)

This is such a beautiful and soft fragrance. The more I wear it, the more I fall in love with it. It feels comforting and a little addictive. At first, you notice a slightly sharp tea note, but it quickly softens. After that, it settles into a warm and creamy blend where I can smell hints of rice, frangipani, vanilla, and heliotrope. It feels gentle, feminine, and really easy to wear every day.

This is the only perfume that I repurchased more than once. It takes me back to Spring of 2006 when I first got it and reminds me of my teenage era. Beautiful, so comforting, not too sweet, with soft floral component. All my favourite notes are here - rice, tea, frangipani, vanilla, cherry blossom, incense 🖤 Imagine being in a quiet Japanese onsen during spring. Cherry trees are blooming in the garden, your fresh rice and white tea are on the table, incense is burning in the corner, your bath water has some frangipani floating on top. P.S. This one shines in cooler weather conditions. If you use it during heat it can be suffocating

On first application after a long maceration, this seems to be a chemistry dependent type of scent. I typically do best with resinous sensual scents, but the odd powdery composition like Habanita work on my skin too. Unfortunately, the light powdery vanilla comes off as play-doh on me; that’s how I know this is a me problem. The unique artistry is clear, as well as a gentle Asian clean soapy profile. I love this, but I don’t think we’re meant to be. Frangipani & Heliotrope have always been polarizing so I knew it was a gamble when I bought it. If you’re a musky rough, oriental type, this may not be for you. But I could totally see this being sexy and seductive on someone whose chemistry works well with clean florals. A bad girl who jaywalks type of energy. Gentle, close to the wrist, skin scent. The silage isn’t great, but again, I think there is a big disconnect for my skin chemistry wise. If you took 5 people off the street, & sprayed them with it, I bet it would smell like 5 totally different perfumes. I’ll keep playing with it, but, my nose usually doesn’t comeback from anything that leans “playdoh” on me. I might be too wild and unhinged. But there is definitely something unique that I can’t quite put my finger on.

I appreciate the intention behind framing vanilla in a greener composition, because more often than not, vanilla just jumps straight into gourmand, which isn’t something I enjoy. Here, the rice, florals, and the tea/woody layer create an interesting opening and mid-section. That said, this vanilla itself isn’t my kind. It’s hard to define precisely, but there’s a noticeable gap between a synthetic, body-spray-like vanilla and a refined, natural-smelling essence that can evolve in multiple directions. This one leans closer to the first. Also, I tend to find many Kenzo fragrances a bit overwhelming - they feel dense and saturated across all layers, and this follows that pattern (with a few exceptions in the brand’s lineup). Overall ok, but you really have to like vanilla to enjoy this, because at the end that's what you'll be left with.

This is a soft, ethereal vanilla and I am here for it. As someone who doesn’t like today’s version of gourmand vanilla or gourmands in general, this makes my heart sing. It is not heavy or cloying and the vanilla really doesn’t brashly call for attention, it’s just there to carry all that is beautiful about the other notes. It is indeed reminiscent of the waft of creamy rice pudding cooking on the stove in winter, but in an occasional fleeting ‘ooo is that pudding?’ kind of way, not a consistent onslaught of ‘dessert is me’ kind of way. Simply Beautiful.

This was a total blind buy. I walked into a perfume shop, saw her sitting there for $20, and honestly… the bottle pulled me in before anything else. I had never even heard of her, but something said “take me home,” and I listened. The moment I got back, I sprayed her on my arm—and wow. She is beautiful. Soft, starchy, powdery, a little sweet, a little lactonic… just incredibly comforting. She feels like a warm hug from your mom—the kind that instantly makes everything feel okay. There’s something so gentle and cozy about her, like she wraps around you instead of announcing herself. Every time I smell it, my mood lifts without fail. I genuinely don’t know how she flew under my radar for so long, but I’m so, so glad she found her way to me 🤍

this is such a gorgeous powdery spring fragrance! not too sweet, i love how the vanilla note is received in this one as a non-gourmand girl. performance couldddd be better, but i can definitely see myself wearing this to go see the cherry blossoms :)

Lovely sweet powdery milky rice pudding scent, however a heads up for anybody that has recently purchased this (or is planning to), my band new sealed bottle came HALF EMPTY, and after a quick online search, I'm not the only one this happened to.

Why have I only just found out about this beautiful perfume? It's absolutely gorgeous. Soft powdery and very feminine. I get cherry blossom and heliotrope in the top and a sensual creamy vanilla musk gently enhanced by the rice milk in the drydown. There's only one word to describe this. Dreamy.

more mature/sophisticated/smooth version of Curve Crush for women :) looked it up and this scent did indeed get released after Curve Crush for women. loved that perfume in my high school days, and this one, Kenzo Amour, brings me right back to those days when i wear it. a lovely spiced lactonic fragrance

Definitely powdery and nostalgic. Nice perfume, but I wouldn’t buy it again. I feel like it would go well for 50s or 60s women.

Kenzo Amour Pink has a sweet, milky, and rich scent, which I think comes from the rice and vanilla notes. It smells a lot like a rice pudding dessert, or an Iranian dessert called Ferni. It’s also a little powdery, which reminds me of childhood, but it doesn’t directly smell like baby powder. Its longevity is excellent, and I think it works well in all four seasons. It’s innocent, pink, and gourmand.

Sütlaç gibi sütlü, pirinçli, vanilyalı kokar umuduyla aldım ama çok klasik, 90lar 2000lerin başı parfümleri gibi dümdüz pudralı bir koku karşıladı beni. Kokunun herhangi bir karakteri olduğunu düşünmüyorum, değişik bir koku değil kesinlikle, süpermarketlerdeki deodorantlar gibi, biraz da ıslak mendiller gibi kokuyor 😔. Bayılmadım ama nefret de etmedim. Klasik, düz, risksiz bir parfüm.

Similar to Chemin D'Amande by Une Nuit Nomade, but a way softer version with less smokiness to it. The dry down on my skin smells like almond and incense. Powdery, a little sweet, smoky, woody in that order. It's ok. It doesn't smell like frangipani :(
